Hapy belated birthday Heather!! woo! I may have missed it, but how old did you turn.

This beginning of the month thing is rough, I haven't been OP at all. I am almost over my calorie alotment for the day, so I need to have a light dinenr and maybe go for a walk sometime this evening.. we will see. I am going to the gym in the morning with my roommates and I am going to make a super healthy lunch.. to kick start my week (even though it will be three days in heh)

At least I know I am not doing the best, but I will certainly kick my own *** at the gym for not going at all this week!

the couch to 5k thing looks interesting, I will have to give it a shot

Daimere 03-03-2009 07:11 PM

I just PMed the only person we are missing. Hopefully they will weigh in and join our little chats. ^_^

I may have to look into this sushi thing. ^_^

And I'll be using some weekly points today cause I had a small binge. But I have a healthy dinner in the crockpot. I'm so tired but I really want to do a few more minutes of Rock n Roll steppin' in.

heather88 03-03-2009 07:33 PM

You should do it . . . I've gotten in some "last minute workouts" like that before and it feels great to just push through it even though ur body is sooo tired.

Star2Be 03-04-2009 12:50 AM

Hello ladies!! Just popping in to say "hi," because I feel bad that I haven't been very active on this thread yet! :o It feels like you're already in the middle of a conversation, so I don't quite know where to jump in, but I'm gonna try, d*mnit! Hehe.

heather88 - I, too, wish you a Happy Belated Birthday!! :yay: And WTG celebrating without going crazy-off-plan! You show some serious restraint, lady... When I had my last birthday, I had only been trying to lose weight for 2-3 weeks, and I gotta say, I went NUTS with unhealthy stuff that day. :p And oooh, the gym sounds awesome! I'm jealous... What I wouldn't give to be able to go for a swim right now... *sigh* Hehe. Hope you enjoy it!

kalikat003 - Bummer that you've been having staying OP for the past couple days, but it sounds like you are well on your way to getting back on track! Yea! Good luck with it... Hopefully March will be a great month for us all. :luck:

Daimere - Ack, binges, the bane of my existence! Somehow I magically made it through this past weekend without binging - finally breaking a pretty sizable streak of having at least SOME kind of binge every weekend for the past month or so - but it was hard. Good on you for not letting it get you down! And I agree, a few extra minutes of moving can't hurt, hehe. :D

As for me, so far I have lost 0.4 lbs since my weigh-in yesterday--I guess it's not a HUGE number, but not too shabby, eh? Haha. I am getting ever-closer to the 160s, so that has been the HUGEST motivator for me lately... Cuz I know girls that are around my height and are in the 160s, and they're normal-sized! I wanna be normal-sized! LOL. This week is going to be a little stressful for me - lots of school-related junk to do, and I have finals coming up very soon  - but I resolve to all of you that I will NOT self-medicate with food! Ooh, and I will NOT binge this weekend, because I don't want to have a disappointing number come Monday! Pinky swear! ;) Hehe.

Hope you all have/had a fabulous day! :goodvibes I will be back tomorrow.

IcassiopeiaI 03-04-2009 01:01 AM

happy belated birthday heather!

i will look into the couch to 5k, it sounds interesting. and definitely challenging.

terrible day today, dentist was torture. but on the plus side i've only had a few bites of a frosty. also... i've only had a few bites from a frosty. =(. i miss workiing out. its been like a week and it seems like too long

Loraloo 03-04-2009 06:55 AM

Happy belated birthday Heather!!!

On another note. I'm having a huge problem.
It's called motivation. So as I posted before, I work 7-4 and two nights a week I'm doing school. so obviously, I should be taking tuesdays and thursdays as my 'rest' days. The only thing is, the rest of the time, i feel too tired to go out for a run or get to the gym. My dad and I go to the gym together, but even then, I feel like I don't work very hard. or if I do feel like I work hard, it doesn't show through. I'm hoping too that once the weather up here gets warmer I'll be outside more (rollerblading/running/etc.) but until then, I don't feel like getting out in the cold :(

I had a bit of a break down last night.. well not huge, but I had a small bag of ketchup chips (my fav). So now, not only do I have to get back on track with my workouts, but manage to burst off an extra 350 calories to get rid of those chips!!

You guys are all very inspiring, and totally amazing and busy I'm sure and still manage to lose. HELP ME PLEASE!!! By next week's weigh in (or rather this weeks) I want to have lost NOT gained. Any words of advice?? I swear I'm not trying to whine, I just need help!

kalikat003 03-04-2009 08:56 AM

So today is a lot better. I have already started off strong. I went to the gym in the morning and started the Couch to 5k today, so I am excited.. I really like it, I think it will be a good thing!

macky 03-04-2009 09:52 AM

Holy crapola.

So, I've been playing with these two pounds for like a month now. I lose them, I gain them. I've been hovering between 178-180 forever it seems. I've been eating completely OP, working out like a maniac, drinking enough water to float away... I was frustrated.

So last night, I killed it at the gym. I did 90 minutes of heavy-duty cardio - I think the other people in the gym might have thought I was insane. I ran/walked for 45 minutes and ellipticalled for 45 minutes straight. And, drumroll... thank god, I dropped a little bit more this morning (176.8).

Sorry, don't mean to vent, but I was getting SO FRUSTRATED! Apparently, I need to do THAT much cardio!

Anyway... how are you all doing? ;)

Daimere 03-04-2009 09:58 AM

Way to go macky!

I took my measurements. No changes really. >.< I guess that means I really DO need to start exercising!

UglyFatFriend 03-04-2009 10:40 AM

OK ... SO I have a confession.....I ate McDonalds last nite....ugh how horrible right?! Im sick and have been off work the last 2 days and when im sick, crap food just seems to be what i want, I tried to get rid of the craving, ate my protein bar which usually does it, cause its semi sweet and chocolatey but no still wanted that damn salt...its been since nov 28th and I havent had even one bite of mcdonalds, but i broke down and ate it. Im mad at myself for breaking that long strech without it BUT you know what? I'm glad i did because, it was GROSS, i didnt even LIKE the stuff, far too much salt, and grease and i felt like i was going to throw up afterwards, so all in all, i think it was a good thing, just hope i dont let 'team apple' and myself down at the next weigh in. I havent been able to excercise much i get far too winded, but from now on, i will remember how nasty i felt after that burger!!!

Daimere 03-04-2009 12:08 PM

Uglyfatfriend, just make sure you get back to eating healthy the rest of the week. I ate bad last week on Tuesday and wound up having a GREAT weigh in. Just have faith.

Stephanie Osborne 03-04-2009 12:14 PM

kalikat - Kickstart that week! Then stay OP to compliment the awsome workout you will have under your belt... you can do it girl. I am so proud of you for starting strong, I think you are reallyg oing to like the c25k.

star2be - Just jump on in! A loss is a loss... Sounds like things are starting to get busy and stressful hold to your pact to not self medicate with food. You deserve the reap the rewards of all your hard work!

Cassi - Yuck I hate going to the dentist, hope you feel better hun.

laraloo - ANY exercise is better than none and going to the gym will start to get addicting. You may not see the results right away but they will be there. It is also easier to avioud binging if you know it will just erase all your hard work at the gym. Maybe make a game of it see how many days you can go in a row, or get a video you can do at home. I believe in you! Lets kick butt this contest!

macky - Thats great! Don't you love it when that happens. I hate pleateaus but the feeling when you break them is just soooooo amazing!

daimere - Your too funny get that exercise in girly! I need to retake my measurements I havent done that in forever

UFF - Sometimes you have to eat the junk just to remind you it is JUNK! Its just so hard when it is constantly broadcast on the TV. I was craving sonic soooo bad last night! I managed to avoid it but if we are being honest only because I waited to long to go and get it and got tired. Slip ups happen what will make the difference if how you react to them. Just remember you didnt put on all that weight in one day with one bag of mcdonalds... You wont take it off that way either. You have to be in it to lose over the long term.

As for me...

Eating was OP last night, managed to avoid Sonic and got some quality time in with the fam. Gym was non existant, the time just got away from me. Got some glaze for my hair, new leave in conditioner and actually woke up this morning and made it curly, applied makeup and picked out a nice outfit lol. I feel great today. Lets make the most of it ladies!

UglyFatFriend 03-04-2009 12:42 PM

I have a weigh in today so I will obviously let everyone know how it goes, i weigh in mon wed and fridays at my centre. and then my weigh in for this BL challenge is done sunday am's on my own home scale.

IcassiopeiaI 03-04-2009 03:07 PM

UFF- i'm glad you didnt like it. when i break down... i break DOWN so yeah, just get back on track and you'll be fine.

Loraloo- as far as the cravings go- try to drink lots of water. lots of times i find i crave things when i'm not even hungry. i just WANT them. so feeling full really helps

good luck everyone! i'm so glad i started using the more accurate scale. my old one is totally broken, it cant make up its mind and weighs me in far too low

kisskiss 03-04-2009 04:03 PM

UFF: ()
sometimes we all break down and eat stuff we know we shouldn't. I wish I was more like you, bc God knows I cannot go so long without Mickey D's. You should be so proud that you hadn't had it in so long. Not only that, but you didn't like the food anymore! that's wonderful. you won't crave it as much now, I would think, cause you realize you don't even like it anymore...lucky girl :)

star: i am also quickly approaching finals week. :( the suckiest thing about them is that I tend to spend like 15 hours at our library, and when I take breaks I eat bad snacks :(

macky: congrats on being so motivated at the gym! i was at the gym the other day, having like the greatest workout on the elliptical. then one of the 24 hour trainers came up to me, took the towel off my screen with the information of my workout (after he asked), and he was like "wow, nice job. you're really working it, girl" lol. keep in mind, this guy was not my trainer! so i was all proud of myself. and worked out even harder for the rest of my time there. it just felt so good ...:carrot:
