I like the banner! Too bad I don't really have room for a banner in my sig :[ . . .

I think I'm off to a good pre-game start. I did my first day of 30DS yesterday on a whim on youtube and it totally kicked my but . . . I killed the jumping jacks and pretty much all of the cardio but the bicycle kicks with lifting I skipped out on a bout five of those!

So, what is everyone up to? Are you pumped?!

CeCeLee 02-28-2009 02:37 AM

I'm so excited!! :carrot::carrot:

I spent a few hours at the zoo today speed walking (school fieldtrip...so if the walking wasn't enough, the stress was :)). And yesterday I was teaching all day (I'm a pre-student teacher) and then exercised after I got home.

GO TEAM APPLE!!

The banner can be easily edited in the paint program (which is on most PC & Mac's): save the banner to your computer > open in paint > click "image" in top tool bar > click "stretch/skew" > enter numbers to how you want it.

For example I attached a smaller verison of the apple banner that I edited by the steps above.

heather88 02-28-2009 03:41 AM

I would make it smaller but there is absolutely no room left in my sig, it is already a little bit in the red section!

kalikat003 02-28-2009 07:40 AM

Mine is in the red section. I am definitely going to readjust my sig so I can have it in my sig! APPLE REPRESENT!

So I am 23 years old. I live in Toronto, ON> Have been living in Toronto since Aug 07.. and I have gained 20 lbs since moving here. I am used to been in an area that doesnt have a lot of food and activities (like plays, tons of bars... etc) Since I moved here, I pretty much had to try everything... resulting in my weight gain. My lowest adult weight that I can remember is 155 In high school, I started at arond 160 and believe I made it up to 185-190 (don't remember exactly) and now I am working towards getting lower (obvi)

I am doing the calorie counting diet.. which is working very well. I am not rushing because I know if you lose weight really fast, you have a higher chance of gaining it all back, so I am treating this as a marathon and not a horse race..

I am an Employment Counsellor.. try to help people find jobs, etc!

Loraloo 02-28-2009 07:55 AM

I am SO excited. I've never done a 3FC biggest loser challenge before and can't wait. I'm 21 years old, live in Ottawa (woot woot) actually, i kinda hate this town, and have tried losing weight a million bagillion times before this with little or no success. This time however, will be totally different. I'm on my own eating plan and exercise plan and my goal is to lose 40 pounds in 5 months. (Just in time for Canada Day and vacation) Since I started at the beginning of February, I've lost 9 pounds, and plan to lose another 21 by Easter. LETS GO TEAM APPLE!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

heather88 02-28-2009 10:09 AM

actually I think that this might work http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/atta...1&d=1235810247
I'll put it next to my bunnies!

Our team has the best spirit so far :D

kalikat003 02-28-2009 10:25 AM

That is because we rock!

dcslm 02-28-2009 10:57 AM

Hello lovely ladies! Well, I am 22, live in Kansas and I'm a chiropractic student. I am busier than I have ever been in my life but I am taking time to plan my meals, count my calories and exercise every day (for stress relief as well!). Overall, I'd like to lose about 30 more pounds and I'm really excited for the motivation of this challenge!

Oh, and I had an apple for breakfast today, whoot!

macky 02-28-2009 11:40 AM

Hello!!

I'm 23 and in Los Angeles. This is my first real challenge, and I think it's coming at a good time for me since I just kicked a nasty plateau this week!!

Hopefully by the time this challenge is over, we'll all look hot for spring/summer clothes :)

Daimere 02-28-2009 11:50 AM

GO TEAM APPLE.

Just so you know, I would prefer all the weight results to be in one post. Just edit that post week after week. ^_^

About me: I'm Shannon. I'm 21. I currently work in childcare but I'm about to switch to a lab job. I've lost 80 pounds before but fell off the wagon and gained half back. I'm currently up to 50 pounds lost now. ^_^

It'd be awesome to wear shorts this summer.
Congrats on kicking the plateau!!!

Daimere - :carrot: good job on losing 50lbs so far! I can't wait to hit that milestone.

Star2Be 02-28-2009 12:25 PM

Hi ladies!! Just yet another member of the great and might TEAM APPLE, coming to introduce myself! My name is Meredith, and I'm 19 years old and in my second year of college... Woohoo... I'm not following any really specific plan, just taking smatterings of weight-loss ideas here and there, and combining it all in the special "Meredith" plan, LOL! I'd say like 90% of my weight-loss has come from changing my eating habits--I really will have to start exercising more as I get closer to goal. :p What else... Well, I think the biggest challenge I face with weight loss is that I have really bad tendencies towards emotional eating! When I'm sad or stressed, I want to eat for comfort, and when I'm really happy, I want to eat to "celebrate," or cuz I've "earned" it, or whatever. It is REALLY hard to overcome these urges, and of course I've had my share of failures, LOL, but as it stands I am now about 90 lbs down and it's looking like I might actually meet my goal someday! Crazy! Hehe. :D

I guess that's it for me! For now, at least. I'm so excited to be on this team! I pretty much eat an apple EVERY day, no joke (it keeps the doctor away, ya know ;))! We are going to ROCK this challenge! :cp:

Daimere 02-28-2009 06:48 PM

I just sent a team message so everyone will remember it starts tomorrow!

^_^

Daimere 03-01-2009 10:32 AM

I am shocked how my weigh in went this week. Last week I had Red Lobster and went over my points a few this week. ^_____________^ Hopefully my official WW weigh in Tuesday will be as positive.

CeCeLee 03-01-2009 01:40 PM

I know what you mean. I was surprised to have lost about 4lbs last week because it's Mardi Gras season over here and I ate king cake and all sorts of stuff I shouldn't have. Oh well. Back OP this week and hopefully I'll have an even bigger loss :).

Good luck on your WW weigh in!!

Daimere 03-01-2009 01:43 PM

This will be my last Tuesday weigh in. :( I'm really sad because I liked this leader and the people. The people are amazing. But a new job was a must and this will work out better financially and stress wise.

Daimere 03-01-2009 02:45 PM

I am so glad to see that 10 out of 13 people have at least posted in the weigh in thread. I think most of them actually weighed in, too. ^_________________^

Also, I just wanted to tell you girls about this thing called stickK.com. You make a contract to yourself that you will lose weight, eat better, stop smoking, exercise, anything. You can have money on the line or not. I don't have money on the line but I might start one at the end of March if my cleaning habits don't change. If any of you want to join, I'm on there and I'm daimere. My first stickK results were positive. ^_^ Although I really think stickK might be the only way I start cleaning better. I would hate to lose money to my boyfriend. lol

I just did my healthy shopping for the week. ^_^ I was so upset that they did not have the live active cottage cheese I LIVE on. Grrrr

IcassiopeiaI 03-01-2009 03:13 PM

i'm sooo excited!

boo the first week is when i'm getting my wisdom teeth out but i hope not being able to exercise will be cancelled out by the not being able to eat =)

you guys can call me cass, its nice to see everyone so excited. i really think this is going to be an awesome team- we'll kick a.ss in this challence

kisskiss 03-01-2009 03:36 PM

hey girls :)
so I'll introduce myself to Team apple/
I just turned 22 last month. I've been as low as 235 last year, but unfortunately I have not been sticking with my plan (last month was pretty horrible in me exercising )
but im trying to get back on track, and lose some weight before I graduate in June...

ummmm think that's all for now... Go Team APPLE !! ;)

Daimere 03-01-2009 03:47 PM

Hello, kisskiss! Once you get back on track, you will never want to leave! I just got back on track after being off for 9 months and love it. ^_^

Hey, Cass!
Good luck on the wisdom teeth. I was sick last week and didn't stay on plan as much as I wanted, too.

CeCeLee 03-01-2009 10:52 PM

Daimere, I just went and joined Stickk.com. I think its a really great way to keep me accountable. Thanks for the suggestion!

Daimere 03-02-2009 09:51 AM

UGH. TOM is here. Hopefully my weigh in will be decent tomorrow. If not bigger weight loss next week...which would be better than normal since I will be waiting till Saturday. Although I still haven't decided if I want to do Saturday or Sunday weigh in. Hmmm

Loraloo 03-02-2009 10:46 AM

Ugh, I'm sick again. This is crazy. I NEVER get sick. Like once every couple of years kinda deal, and now this is the second time in the past two months. I just started a new night course for chemistry so I'm wondering if I'm just feeling a bit run down from the extra hours, but hopefully I'll get used to it, rather than just be run down all the time. It's only been a week, but it's tuesdays and thursdays 6:00pm - 10:00pm. Oh yeah, and I work 7:00 - 4:00 every day. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO TIRED!!!!!!! I'd planned on exercising today and going to a kickboxing class tonight with my brother :( I hope I feel better later!!!!

Good luck this week everybody!!!!

Stephanie Osborne 03-02-2009 11:37 AM

Heather88 - You found 30DS on youtube? Thats awesome I have been wanting to try it but not so sure about the $$$.

kalikat003 - I am in such a similar situation to yours. I have about 20 lbs and am at my highest weight since I can remember. I also calorie count. Its nice to have someone I can totally relate to in the group.

loraloo - You've got the excitement and energy girl! I know thats going to make all the difference in your progress. Hope you get to feeling better!

dcslm - I can totally relate on the busy. Maybe you can give me some pointers for how you do it. I have been slipping...

macky - I second the looking hot in spring/summer clothes lol. I am going to Vegas at the end of April and want to rock that swimsuit.

Daimere - Woot woot on the 50 lbs lost! Your an inspiration...I will weigh in at lunch and post it :)

Cass - Nice to meet you!

star2be - The "Merideth" plan... love that :)

cecelee - 4 lb loss after eating cake? I so need to be on that diet lol

kisskiss - Lets get you smokin hot for graduation girly!

As for me...

Let me start by introducing myself. I am 27, married and living in Wyoming. I am a wedding photographer that covers all of Wyoming and Colorado as well as working a second job while we save $$$ for our first house. My schedule is crazy hectic and I travel a lot for work. I enjoy running, swimming and eliptical training. My preferred method of weight loss is calorie counting combined with steady workouts.

Last night I bombed ladies. Girl scout cookies were delivered and I ate enough for a small army. I did manage to make it to the gym though. Got a quick run in and then 15 flights of stairs. Better than nothing but I know it only negates 1/2 of the cookies lol.

I am really excited about this challenge. I need to get back on the wagon. Let do this!

Daimere 03-02-2009 11:46 AM

Feel better, Lora!

Stephanie, sometimes those dreaded cookies win but get back up and try again. Don't give up. ^_^

UglyFatFriend 03-02-2009 12:06 PM

Hey ladies, so excited to be on Team Apple!!! :) I am starting 30DS today as a matter of fact lol. And just moved my dusty old treadmill in from the porch so i have to look at it every day .... good luck to everyone!!!!!

Stephanie Osborne 03-02-2009 04:10 PM

UFF - Drag that treadmill out of hiding this is going to be your month!!!

Ok ladies so far so good. I managed to avoid said evil girl scout cookies at lunch. Everything has been OP and I have even recruited my husband, father in law and niece to go to the gym with me this evening.

Long story short I was just in the beginning stages of running and absolutely loved it. I started out running 30 seconds and being terrible winded lol and got up to being able to run about 14 minutes straight. I was increasing the duration by a minute every time I went. After that I would run/walk the duration till I hit 30 minutes.

WELL it has been quite a while since I last ran. I got a quick run in last night that was crazy hard. Tonight I am going to give it my all and see if I can assess where my running endurance sits currently. I wish I could just pick up where I left off... After that I am planning on swimming for a half hour. Need that bikini body by Vegas baby!

IcassiopeiaI 03-03-2009 02:04 AM

stephanie, amazing job on the running. i'm always so impressed with people who can RUN

but the girlscout cookie thing. man. good job going to get your workout in but i remember a campaign they had a few years ago where the billboards had the girls looking up at the camera like holding cookies up for you and the caption said 'resistance is futile'

too true

macky 03-03-2009 09:58 AM

ha! i resisted the girl scout cookies! for the first time in, i think, my life! this adorable little girl was toting around a cart in my office yesterday chock full of leftover boxes and i ran across her path twice and turned her down twice! but now i want a samoa. no i don't! argh. inner struggle.

as for me, i just started using the daily plate this week. i've always been a fitday user for my calorie counting, but i saw some posts about tdp and wanted to check it out... i really like it! i like it better than fitday! i like that you can save meals that you eat routinely, because i eat the same things over and over and over. literally, the same things monday through friday breakfast through dinner.

anywho, i hope everyone is having a good start to their week!

Daimere 03-03-2009 10:41 AM

TOM came and my WW weigh in was still positive. I've lost all the V-day weight and a smidge more.

Stephanie Osborne 03-03-2009 10:42 AM

Cass - I just realized we are the same height! You too can run I started out by following the couch to 5k program on coolrunning.com. If your ever interested it is a great program, a lot of the girl son here follow it.

macky - Good for you turning them down. I managed to turn them down at work but somehow they snuck into my home lol. I use nutridiary.com I really like how graphical it is. You can click on each glass of water or serving of fruit. It also allows you to save meals you eat over and over.

WOW is all I can say about last night. The hubby and I had a very small tiff late in the afternoon that just threw me into the worst self deprecating funk. Spent most of the night in said funk until falling asleep. Woke up around 4, talked with the husband until 5 then went back to sleep till 7. I am a tired girl today! Indulging in a non fat venti caramel mach from Starbucks... Moral of this very off topic story is that I did not make it to the gym last night grrrrr.

Daimere 03-03-2009 10:55 AM

One day I will complete the Couch to 5K program. That is a fitness goal I will work towards sometime this year. I found out at 214, that running just with the kids was amazing.

macky 03-03-2009 11:01 AM

I started the couch to 5k this year, made it half way through week 4 and totally hit a wall. My knees and ankles started hurting (athletic injuries from years ago) and I think mentally, it was just a lot for me. I'm still running but I'm back down to alternating 2 mins walking with 2 mins running and it's a lot more manageable and doesn't kill my knees.

I wish I could run a whole 5k, a real race, outdoors and all, but I don't think that's in my future.

Stephanie Osborne 03-03-2009 11:10 AM

daimere - I don't have any kiddos but I imagine it would be a blast to just be able to run with them.

macky - I did the c25k got about 5 weeks in then found it progressed too quickly. I started to get knee pain as well as shin splints. So I started modifying the program to fit me... Now my challenge is just staying on a running program. My schedule has been so absolutely hectic that I started skipping runs. Which is bull because they literally take 30 minutes and every hotel I stay in has a treadmill. No more I am done making everything else a priority lol.

Daimere 03-03-2009 11:21 AM

Stephanie-The sad thing is that there was a few skinny "fit" group leaders and I was outrunning them. It was a great feeling.

heather88 03-03-2009 01:05 PM

Yesterday I wasn't exactly on plan because of my birthday . . . but i tried sushi for the first time and I must say...I'm going to be working it into my plan from now one because it was soooo good. For my birthday, my mom is getting us both a membership at a gym, I am SO stoked! I can't wait to start using a gym and also to start swimming laps!! Funny thing is, I was down .4lbs this morning! woohoo, but not so woohoo because of totm :[

I'm going to try and do day 3 of 30DS today. x.x

Daimere 03-03-2009 01:29 PM

Way to go, heather!

dcslm 03-03-2009 01:33 PM

Stephanie: I know your situation is different than mine but some advice I can give you is plan, plan, plan. I plan all of my meals and snacks the night before so that I know I will be in my calorie budget and don't have to worry about it as I go or get home and realize I'm way over for the day. I pack everything in containers or bags the night before so I just throw them into my lunchbox before I leave for school. I try to keep things in my car or locker that I can throw together to make decent mini-meals if I forget my lunch--nuts, dried fruit, protein bars. This way I don't really have an excuse eat a hamburger and fries in the cafeteria instead.

Heather: I am glad you've been introduced to the wonderful world of sushi! It's so delicious; I've been wanting some lately but haven't made it fit into my calorie budget yet!

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!
