Hey guys!
I should be doing homework right now, but I'd rather be here!
Celigirl- I saw you asking about 30DS! Are you going to start doing that? My roommate and I have been thinking about doing it together. I've heard that it's really hard, but SO worth it. Especially with break coming up, I need something to keep me "on track" with exercise. I was thinking of picking it up. Maybe we can keep each other accountable/ complain to each other about how sore we are!
Ghost- Reminder: Get your bootie to the gym this week. LOL.

jk
I totally know what you mean about that getting off track thing. But I've noticed that sometimes I need that "off-track" day to remind me why I'm doing this and (even better) a little higher day sometimes reminds your body that you've got enough to let go. I don't know why, but sometimes after a little "slip-up" it jump starts my loss.
Kim- Welcome! I'm so excited for our team
backabeth- I'm soo with you on that bathing suit thing! Spring Break, here we come!
I just had an idea! It seems like everyone is trying to stir up their exercise routine. What if we decided to do 30 DS as a team? I think the DVD is like 10 bucks at Walmart and it only takes about 20 ish minutes a day, I think? Celigirl seems interested and Kim- it seems like you like to do workout DVDs. PLUS it'd be like a Biggest Loser Workout with JILLIAN as our trainer. Could be fun, idk.
On to the questions:
1. What motivates you to lose weight?
Knowing that every pound lighter I am makes:
- my whole boat faster
- my clothes fit better (well... sometimes worse because they're too lose)
- me feel more confident
- me even that much more motivated to stay on plan another day
2. What is your reward for getting to your goal weight?
My apartment complex gave me $500 in Visa gift cards for signing my lease. I plan on going on a little shoppin spree!
3. What advice do you have for others who are trying to lose?
Losing weight is a lifestyle change. There is no endpoint. You have to train your body to love exercise and to love eating healthy. You CAN do it and you have to. Anyone and their dog can restrict calories and lose a couple pounds. It's what you continue to do after the weight starts to come off that makes the difference.
4. What is your weakness?
Homemade Cake frosting: Pure butter and sugar. Don't put me in front of it because I just can't stop!
5. What made you decide to start losing weight?
One day I just got tired of being unhappy with my body and told myself something had to change! I guess when I think about it, it comes down to my competitive nature.
Two summers ago, one of my friends from high school got Gastric Bypass Surgery and lost a ton of weight! I told myself that if SHE could do it so could I. Two weeks ago I saw her and I now weigh less than she does. Sadly, she hasn't caught on to the whole lifestyle change thing (she was eating a hamburger and French Fries and drank herself sick) so her pounds are creeping back on.
Then there was the fact that my mom said I couldn't stick to going to the gym.

I hated knowing that that was what she thought of me as: an inevitable quitter!
I just generally live my life with the outlook that ANYONE can do ANYTHING they set their mind to. But, being overweight conflicted with that notion so I had to change it.
