Hey guys!

I should be doing homework right now, but I'd rather be here!

Celigirl- I saw you asking about 30DS! Are you going to start doing that? My roommate and I have been thinking about doing it together. I've heard that it's really hard, but SO worth it. Especially with break coming up, I need something to keep me "on track" with exercise. I was thinking of picking it up. Maybe we can keep each other accountable/ complain to each other about how sore we are!

Ghost- Reminder: Get your bootie to the gym this week. LOL. jk

I totally know what you mean about that getting off track thing. But I've noticed that sometimes I need that "off-track" day to remind me why I'm doing this and (even better) a little higher day sometimes reminds your body that you've got enough to let go. I don't know why, but sometimes after a little "slip-up" it jump starts my loss.

Kim- Welcome! I'm so excited for our team

backabeth- I'm soo with you on that bathing suit thing! Spring Break, here we come!

I just had an idea! It seems like everyone is trying to stir up their exercise routine. What if we decided to do 30 DS as a team? I think the DVD is like 10 bucks at Walmart and it only takes about 20 ish minutes a day, I think? Celigirl seems interested and Kim- it seems like you like to do workout DVDs. PLUS it'd be like a Biggest Loser Workout with JILLIAN as our trainer. Could be fun, idk.

On to the questions:

1. What motivates you to lose weight?
Knowing that every pound lighter I am makes:
- my whole boat faster
- my clothes fit better (well... sometimes worse because they're too lose)
- me feel more confident
- me even that much more motivated to stay on plan another day

2. What is your reward for getting to your goal weight?

My apartment complex gave me $500 in Visa gift cards for signing my lease. I plan on going on a little shoppin spree!

3. What advice do you have for others who are trying to lose?

Losing weight is a lifestyle change. There is no endpoint. You have to train your body to love exercise and to love eating healthy. You CAN do it and you have to. Anyone and their dog can restrict calories and lose a couple pounds. It's what you continue to do after the weight starts to come off that makes the difference.

4. What is your weakness?

Homemade Cake frosting: Pure butter and sugar. Don't put me in front of it because I just can't stop!

5. What made you decide to start losing weight?
One day I just got tired of being unhappy with my body and told myself something had to change! I guess when I think about it, it comes down to my competitive nature.

Two summers ago, one of my friends from high school got Gastric Bypass Surgery and lost a ton of weight! I told myself that if SHE could do it so could I. Two weeks ago I saw her and I now weigh less than she does. Sadly, she hasn't caught on to the whole lifestyle change thing (she was eating a hamburger and French Fries and drank herself sick) so her pounds are creeping back on.

Then there was the fact that my mom said I couldn't stick to going to the gym. I hated knowing that that was what she thought of me as: an inevitable quitter!

I just generally live my life with the outlook that ANYONE can do ANYTHING they set their mind to. But, being overweight conflicted with that notion so I had to change it.

Hey Kim, quick question for you, since you are on WW as well.. do you use your activity points or your flex points? I have never quite grasped the right way to go on this, so I usually err on the side of not using either. But sometimes I'm still hungry at the end of the day and really want to! What do you think? That's great that you've already lost almost 15!

Icon: I had the same day today. I got too hungry & wound up having more than I should have. It's only 3pm & I only have 325 calories left for the day. We'll see how that goes. I went over 150 calories yesterday, and now I'm sad at myself for not doing well today either.

Kim: We're so glad to have you on our team. Congratulations on your weight loss so far. We're all here to help you through this journey. I didn't do so great today, but let it be a lesson to you! =)

How is everyone else doing today? Sticking with it? We can win this challenge, girls!

I think that is a great idea. I just started 30DS last week and I absolutely LOVE IT. I'm on Level 1 Day 5 but I swear I already feel a difference in how my clothes are fitting. And it really is only about 25 minutes from when you press play to when you finish cooldown. Such a great workout!

Also, that is awesome that you got Visa gift cards! just for signing your lease?? I need to move there... It sounds like you are so dedicated and motivated! That makes me even more excited for our team

Haha, yea I finally buckled down and bought the DVD like 10 minutes ago. I think it will be a little better for me working out at home rather than the gym because like I said, haven't seen any results and we all know how discouraging that can get. If you need to vent/complain I'm here right along with you cause I'm sure the day I get my DVD and try it, I'll be laying face down on the hardwood floors waiting for somebody to pick me up! haha

So is that what we want our challenge for our team to be this week? 30Day Shred for a week? I'm game. I have the video, I just haven't done it. I've been doing Pilates, but it will be good to be challenged to do this.

What is the general feeling about doing the 30Day Shred this week?? Give me some feedback, dear ones!

I wouldn't mind doing it. I would have to continue doing the gym routine until my DVD arrives, but once it does I'm obviously going to do it, so I figure that would be a good idea as long as everybody on the team has the DVD also.

I think that would be fine Icon. We should definitely all commit to working out at least 5 times a week or something, so that we are keeping our metabolism up. Does that sound doable to everyone?

Sounds good to me! I'm trying to be good and keep with the 30DS for now. I have promised myself more times than I can count that I will get up and go running outside tomorrow morning. I just hate doing it here! People always look at me like I'm so insane and I get so self conscious. I'm thinking about joining the gym around the corner but it is very expensive and you have to go through a medical examination to officially join. A friend of mine detailed the exam for me, and the words insanely intrusive would be an understatement...

Good night guys. Thinking positive thoughts for tomorrow.

Night Beth! Just keep with the 30DS & you'll be fine! I don't think I could handle the stares, so I would stick to exercising in the privacy of my own home. =)

I have to admit something...I started the 30DS & got to the 2nd set of pushups & turned it off to do Pilates. That thing is frickin' hard! I felt like such a wimp, but I'm just gonna have to try it again tomorrow & see how far I get. LOL You guys are amazing that can do the whole thing. I need some upper body strength in a hurry!

At least I did my Pilates though, right??

1. What motivates you to lose weight?
- Having a baby & having a very healthy pregnancy
- Health issues
- Wanna look sexy! =)

2. What is your reward for getting to your goal weight?
- I have mini-goals set up where I treat myself with something special for each one. I have yet to think of the top prize for when I hit my goal. I was thinking a belly button ring because I have always wanted one, but it will be pointless because I want to try & have a baby next year! I have some time to think about the ultimate present, so I'll keep you posted.

3. What advice do you have for others who are trying to lose?
- Drink tons of water. Don't get discouraged, just know that everyday you are getting healthier & that should be your priority. Even when you feel like you have stalled out, don't give up, because you are gonna break through that plateau & not even remember you stalled out.

4. What is your weakness?
- Sweets! I love sweets. I have been craving donuts for a week now & it's driving me crazy.

5. What made you decide to start losing weight?
- I was tired of the scale climbing. I wanted to be able to wear normal sizes & not be ashamed. Most of all, I was scared for my health. My grandparents had all kinds of problems & I don't want to end up like them with diabetes, strokes, heart attacks, & cholesterol. I want to healthy & happy!

I put 30DS on my Blockbuster online queue. Now I just need to get around to sending back my old DVDs... I've had the same ones for like 4 weeks. Waste of money!

I'm totally gonna do 30DS, but til then, I'll just keep doing my workouts. I'm pretty sure I can get 5 days in this week.

bakabeth~ I use my bonus points basically whenever I feel a little hungry or have a special meal planned etc. I keep track of my activity points, but never use them towards food (it’s optional as to whether or not you use them towards food).

As for 30 DS, I’m really broke right now, so it will be at least a week before I can afford to pick up that DVD. I will commit to getting my butt out of bed at least two days in the AM before Monday and working out and doing something either after school or in the afternoon the rest of the days. Friday will have to be one of the mornings I get up as I have to waitress that night. I WILL do something active over the next few days and WILL carry that into weeks to come.

Just so everyone knows, I do not have a computer at home, so this is unusual. I’m at my BFs parents house, using their computer. Normally I will only be able to check posts before, once during and then after school as well. So you won’t really hear from me unless it’s during the school day or I happen to be using someone elses computer.

Thank you everyone for the amazing welcome!!!
