Kfunk, you asked me in the other thread about OMAD. I tried it for 2-3 days. It didn't work so well for me, I was ravenous by the time I could eat and then I felt like I was eating everything, and still going over on calories. I like calorie counting, and eating breakfast and lunch. I just need to make better choices when it comes to snacking.
150.6 today. Trying to be realistic - I could be in the 140s by next week, or I could hover within a couple pounds for a long while. I think weight loss will either make me a much more patient person, or turn me into a bit of a lunatic.
boop: Thanks! I'm excited that it wasn't a false weight! And I'll have to check out that show. Hopefully it's streaming online somewhere.
NFTM: Is OMAD one meal a day? I tried that once and it wasn't for me either. Some people swear by it and it works amazing for them, though. I do best with three main meals and one snack a day. I think that's one of the tricky things about weight loss: figuring out which of the myriad of methods works for the individual long term. What kind of snacks do you usually like to have?
Chanticleer, I try to eat snacks that are healthy, like fruit, nuts, or some sort of protein... At least that's what I should have. If there's some sort of sweet around like cookies or chocolate, I tend to inhale them. I also tend to drink sweet coffee with cream, and the calories can add up fast for that. So I need to train myself to choose water or something calorie free instead. Now that I am going back to 3 regular meals a day, I will hopefully keep better track of my hunger and cravings.
maggie I am glad that the scale at your house matched the progress from when you were out of town!! And, looks like you are continuing to go down. It might look like lingering, but I bet with plenty of fluid you will be able to offset the sodium gain from some of the restaurant meals!
NFTM Hey!! Sorry to hear that OMAD didn't work out well for you, but its good that you are experimenting to find something that works the best for your needs. I also really like calorie counting!
I can not get it together on the weekends. I go crazy and eat everything in sight. UGH!!
kfunk I was right there with you yesterday. I woke up to a new low of 176 then proceeded to eat WAY over my calories and carbs (1855 calories & 28 net carbs). Ugh! This morning I'm at 178. I know it's only water but I'm still disappointed in myself. 😕
I'm up to 182.4 this morning. I haven't been very good with calorie counting the past few days. I've also been snacking quite a bit. Not too thrilled with myself right now.
nftm I know the feeling! We can turn it around though! I bet most of that is just water, hopefully it will flush out soon!
175 today. I will stay within my calorie range today, but poor planning on my part led to a bad breakfast decision. I am hoping I have time to hop on the treadmill tonight.
I’m moving over to this thread from the specific decade threads, which seem not very active. I hovered right at 170 for a week, despite being on plan, and finally got 168.6.
My goal for Feb is to get down to 165, which still looks like a stretch.
kfunk yes it is a gross feeling I need to keep it in check when it comes to wanting to eat out of boredom. It's a huge slippery slope for me.
NFTM17 It's hard not to snack. I do much better during the warmer weather and when I keep myself busy. I eat a lot of cheese, nuts & celery with cream cheese but those nuts add up fast!
Chanticleer hope your scale budges soon! I have to remind myself that lingering is preferable to gaining. It's so much easier to give advice than take it though.
