Rennie - Great job on your 1.6 this week! Do you think those gains you had in July/August have anything to do with TOM?

Wyllowbelle -- Wow, terrific week for you...good job on sticking to your plan.

Roxy -- Good job on your 1.4 for this week! Oh yikes, I have my b-day before Thanksgiving too, plus Canadian Thanksgiving around the same time. I'll have to make sure I limit any splurges to just those two days. Last year I let it carry on a little too long.

Jami -- Thanks! I really have to thank Rennie for motivating me with the 6lb challenge to get serious about following my plan again, it's made all the difference.

SoDetermined -- :welcome: I'm glad you are joining us!!

love2b150 08-25-2011 01:10 PM

Kiki good job on the 3.2lbs gone :)

Roxy good job on the 1.4lbs gone :) Wow look at you aiming to kick another 5lbs to the curb for the challenge, You Rock :high:

Thanks Jami, :crossed: and :goodvibes: sent your way and alittle to keep here for me also :D

SoDetermined hoping for a nice weigh in tomorrow for ya' :)

Angie I wish I could blame it on TOM, but I have to blame it on my mind not controlling hand to mouth and poor food choices. I hope that I can maintain total focus for the remainder of our challenge. I don't want to be a total failure. I know if I do right I can get to the new decade but for some reason I just don't do it :dizzy:

love2b150 08-25-2011 01:11 PM

Angie you got me through Thanksgiving last year, I thought you did well also.

April Snow 08-25-2011 02:42 PM

welcome to the newcomers. congrats on the great losses and good luck to those coming up on a WI!!!

sevencallmemom 08-25-2011 05:19 PM

My hubs had surgery and I've been a slacker the last couple of weeks, but I remembered to WI this morning. 247, which is down .9 this week, but can't remember from my last WI here. (Maybe nothing, been pretty stuck lately)

LittleBlueCat 08-25-2011 10:12 PM

I gave in to a nutty bar this week... now facing the scale, I think it wasn't quite worth it... Mental Note: Watch My Mouth. Think twice before putting anything in!

Start weight: 175.0
Goal weight by Thanksgiving: 140.0
----------------
Aug 04 - just started on Aug 7th - 175.0
Aug 11 - 171
Aug 18 – 168.5
Aug 25 - 167.5
----------------

I forgot to post on Wednesday. I'm down .6 to 171.0, which is 11 down for the challenge. Not sure I'll make 152 by thanksgiving, but anything that is going down is OK.

Have a great day, everyone.

Lin

Trish not a slacker at all ... a great wife and Mom as always, Hope DH recovers quickly  good job on the .9 down :)

Nancy good job on the 1lb down :). When did you start Dukan? Do you like it? Are you using their/his site? I just read a little about it yesterday on here and a few things on google. I'm gonna pick the book up from the library also. According to the site (which I only use for the analysis, I can't afford it). I only need to be on the attack phase for two days.

Lin good job on the .6 down and great job on the 11lbs down for the challenge and I agree anything going down is GREAT :) good to see you.

Just wanted to take a second to actually read all the posts. I've been MIA and will be again for a few days. I see a lot of new faces (names!) in the challenge. Welcome to you all. And it seems like everyone is doing well with staying on plan and mostly losing! I'm still emotionally dealing with the fact that I have slowed way down. I was used to seeing 2 to 2.5 pounds gone every week, or a slow week and then a huge whoosh. Now it's slower - as little as .2 a week. Maybe my body knows best, because I'm just starting to see a bit of sagging and wrinkles where I didn't have it before. Thank goodness it's my legs, mostly, and capris will cover it if it gets worse. I'm hoping for the best.

Have a great day, everyone.

Lin

Well, another gain this week. Boo! :( No worries though. I'm doing everything I can and I know that dang scale is going to have to GO LOW eventually! ;)

Determined -- AMAZING loss this past woman! GREAT JOB!

Trish -- Take care of your family is the opposite of slacking. Great job continuing that down trend with "life" taking over!

Cat -- Nutty bar aside, you still managed to pull off a loss. WTG!

Lin -- Woo hoo on the loss! I know our losses are almost never what we're hoping for but you're right, anything that is going is GOOD!

I only used their site, to see what's my 'true weight', and how long to do the attack. Mine suggested 5 days. So far I really like it. Especially during the attack phase, it gets you motivated, when the scale drops every single day. But the hardest part for me, is that no starch!!! No wheat! No bread... no pastries... no donuts... no nutty bars... makes life really difficult. I did buy the book. Got it on Border's bookstore closing sale... Eating protein only during attack phase is not very hard for me. Since I love protein, and milk and eggs. It's the starch that gets me down. And I spend two/three days mending the damages done over the weekend, when my will power is the least... But the scale can be rewarding if you stick to the diet/book. Good luck to you!!

LMAO! I do the same thing! moving the scale around, especially when I think, that surely ain't right... surely, I lost Something?! I'm considering on buying a new scale that will show: 0.2 0.4 0.6 instead of just 0.5 Hey, congrats on the awesome 7 lbs!!

JamiSue - Thanks for the encouragement! You are always so supportive  I'm sure the numbers on your scale will be going down soon!

Be proud, be very proud, I just turned down Nutty Bar that my DH offered me, then chomped on his loudly while breathing in my face... :dust: For everyone who could use some during the weekend! I know I will...

sarabrooke 08-26-2011 11:42 PM

I'm still here! :0) It's been crazy around here though! I've had a time with school starting and getting myself back into Teacher Mode. Plus my step-daughter is cheering, playing softball and soccer, and my husband has started a new part-time job. Just haven't had a lot of time to report. But here goes...

Starting at:
7/26- 279
8/4- 272
8/9- 271
8/16- 273
8/25- 267
Thanksgiving Goal- 240!!!

Yes, I bounced for a few weeks. See-sawed between 3 to 4 lbs. But I was out of Medifast food that I liked and was only left with yucky stuff. So I wasn't strict. I guess the good thing is that I know I can maintain off Medifast! LOL And I got my new order in earlier this week and am now back on track! Broke into the 260's!!!

I'm enjoying keeping up with everyone's progress. It helps to know there are others who share in this struggle and I can draw encouragement. Keep up the good work people!

April Snow 08-27-2011 12:19 AM

good to see some progress happening here!!

Lin, you are on vacation? ANY loss on vacation is pretty good - even if you are being fairly careful, I'm sure it's different foods than you would normally choose.

and glad to see some other Dukaners here! At least for me, it's been great!

karen Jane 08-27-2011 01:23 AM
