haha skinny, the rest period is DRIVING ME NUTS... but i'm doing my calories right, and occasionally doing the desk pilates that i found, so i'm at least getting stretching in. i'm about to do my weigh in for today, and i'm hoping it's down a little bit more. i can't wait to claim 50lbs lost!

<3 i love you ladies!

weigh in update: 251.8!

i MIGHT manage to make it out of july and the 250s at the same time

I'm still hanging in the 252.something range. I really want to see 251-something soon! That will be ten pounds lost and then I'll really feel like I'm on my way.

Skinny you are always so encouraging! That means alot.

Not weighing myself today because it would just be crazy making. I know I'm eating right and getting exercise chasing kids all day so there's no need to worry about the scale this week anyways.

Today was a blast. Played kickball for the first time since...wow...grade school? I ran the bases and tried not to care what all the chub looked like (or sounded like...eek!) and just had fun.

Hi everybody! Looks like several of us had some setbacks over the weekend. Glad to see you're all still working hard and hanging in there!

I had a super busy weekend, helping my 93 year old Grandmother move across country and get settled. My focus has been completely on her and not on exercising. I've done a fair job of at least watching my portion size, so I have had a small loss... I was at 254 this morning. Tomorrow is the day I take my official weight and look at where I was last week. Right now I'm on track to have just over a pound loss, which is fine and I'll take it.

Lots of changes on the horizon for me, as I start back to work... my summer is quickly ending and students will be in my room in just under 2 weeks! EEK!

I have been set back for around a two months. I am stuck around 255 and it is driving me up the wall. I have finally decided to return to the site and work on getting my resolve back in gear.

I have also been desperately searching for a serious (the one I currently have cancels on me all the time and is weighing down my weight loss) exercise buddy in my area but so far no luck! I will continue my scowling hunt.

Down 2.2 this morning to 258.8! Yahoo! Was a little worried there that the "see-ya-later sixties" (thanks Skinny) were going to be the "stick-around-and-don't-let go sixties"!

freefall - I think I read on another thread that you finally broke through your gaining streak! WOO HOO!!

Skinny -- Can I just say that you are hilarious! Thanks for always giving great support and a good laugh to go with it. Now I'm picturing the lower boundaries of a decade like wet tissue paper. I can get through that easy!

Mandy -- I happy to know that you had yet another good WI yesterday so CONGRATS! You may very well shed your 50lbs AND the 250's in July!

Star -- You CAN do it!!!

Seven -- Congrats on the kickball game! That actually sounds like a TON of fun!! And good for you for ignoring the scale a bit. It CAN'T be our focus EVERY day...

jess -- Glad that you were able to stay OP while caring for your grandmother. Yikes about school starting! I can't believe our kids' summers are almost over!

srt4852 -- I'm also over on the Daily Weighing Thread and one of the members there, linJber, is also in NW, PA. Who knows, maybe you can't find someone from 3FC to workout with! It might also be worth a post of its own. You know, a shout out to the 3FC members to see if anyone else might be close by you...

K0nfyo0zed: I just figured out how you hurt your ankle --- it was from KICKING pounds of fat to the curb, wasn't it? Well, you are just about done with the 250's! WA-HOO! And we are forming a conga line behind you, each one holding the sports bra of the one in front of her, letting your momentum pull us to the fabulous forties along with you!

StarGetsFit: Or maybe we can form TWO conga lines, one behind K0nfyo0zed and one behind you! You are so freaking close to 250 and to losing that first 10 pounds --- instead of a conga line, maybe we should form two lines, grab you by both hands and slingshot you past 252 --- KA-ZOOOOOING!

SevenCallMeMom: Ding ding ding!! We have a winner! It's not really about counting calories, it's not really about eating perfectly to program --- it REALLY is about living full lives doing what we need to do and want to do. Your exercise program was "just had fun" --- fresh air, fun, living NOW how we all want to live at goal. Applause!

1049jess: You took care of your 93 year-old Grandma during a big and (probably for her) emotional move? Ok, that is a different kind of exercise for the heart, but probably the most important kind. You watched your eating but didn't lose sight of the bigger goal --- her. Like seven, you sound like you are living NOW the way we all should at goal. Kudos, m'dear!

srt4852: Welcome back! The more of us there are, the more those pounds of fat should be shaking in their little jello-y boots --- there is strength in numbers. Sorry about your exercise buddy flaking out on you. I think JamiSue's idea of a shout out on the boards for a new one is certainly worth a shot!

JamiSue3916: See! I TOLD you that you wouldn't be hanging around the old neighborhood for very long. You smoked 2.2 pounds and are about to smoke a few more ---- pfffffft! Bye bye, pounds. And as someone who is still in single digits of pounds gone, I bow to your 33+ pounds. Ladies like you give newbies like me hope!

I am down .5 to 242 (YAY). Today is DH birthday and we went up into the mountains so he and my son could hike --- I can't keep up with those two hooligans, but I did do a little 3 mile hike up (and I do mean UP --- the Rocky Mountains, ya know) to a beautiful lake. On the drive back, we saw a bull moose!! Way cool!

Everyone ready for Wicked Wednesday? Form a line behind k0nfyo0zed and StarGetsfit. grab hold of the gal in front of you and start dancing --- we are going to cha-cha-cha right through 250 and into the fantastic forties!

Thanks Jami - and everyone else for listening to me whine! I went lower on carb yesterday to try and stop this crazy gaining (I was up 7 lbs to 258 from 251 while staying totally OP - in 2 days!) This morning I was 254 so hopefully back on a downward trend.
I have to say - I've been doing this for 9 mos and this is the first time this has happened. I could understand how a plateau or gain can really derail someone. I was at a burger place with my teenage son today and was so tempted to just say "f... it" and have the works, in part because my food choices and my weight had started to feel so unrelated... Luckily, I saw I really large guy in front of me ordering a lot and that sort of jolted me back to why I am doing this in the first place - and I had my bunless turkey burger and salad after all
I did have two kind of awesome NSVs in the midst of all this scale angst - I tried on my wedding dress (from almost 20 years ago!) and it fit even better now than it did then, which felt great (although it looked SO dated!) Also, I went shopping today and bought an "inspirational dress" - a black stretchy dress that just got on my body now but will hopefully be able to be worn in public in the future...
Sounds like everyone is motivated and dancing right out of this thread - hope to see you all in the 240's soon...

Another amazing day at camp. Played volleyball today and loved it.

This group seriously rocks.

Freefall, good for you for sticking with it at the burger shop. I know that was tough.

Skinny, that's exactly my goal. I have a blog about all of this and in the header it says how I'm living the life I've always wanted to live and now it's up to my poor body to keep up with me. That hike sounds amazing, btw.

Jami, congrats on the loss and for finally getting outta the 60's. I felt pretty stuck there too.

srt-hope you find a buddy soon! That would be awesome! I have an irl friend who's finally joined me on this after talking about doing it for forever and it helps, even if she's not "all in" the way I am yet.

Up 0.4 this morning to 259.2. I know it's still water retention and I probably need to cycle my calories up a bit for a day or two. I'm still working my plan and feeling good!

Skinny -- Thanks for the kind words. Means a lot to me. Congrats on being down .5 yesterday and your hike sounds amazing! Good for you!

freefall -- Congrats on your wedding dress NSV. I CAN'T wait to hear you talking about how great that lil' black stretchy dress fits!

Seven -- Wow, that volleyball sounds fun! Good for you for finding an activity that's a great workout and tons of fun!

Mandy: Yes, I WILL call you Mandy! Soooooo much easier LOL. Keep that excellent attitude in place while you are housebound and you will be in the Fabulous Forties when you strut on back to work!

Freefall: Congratulations on not giving into bad food as a response to that temporary gain --- boy, I am not sure I would have been so strong! Great work! And congratulations on fitting into your wedding dress! But I think you should save the black dress for the big welcome party you will attend when you have broken through that 250 tissue barrier.

sevencallmemom: I very much admire your approach to this weight loss thing. I am having a hard time right now NOT thinking about this as a diet (which just doesn't work, does it?) and it really helps to see that much better attitude reflected in folks like you. Keep up the good work of having fun and living the way you want to NOW --- I will try to copy your excellent moves.

JamiSue: Don't let those temporary numbers on the scale freak you (and it doesn't sound like you are, by the way) --- you are staying on program and the weight will drop off. You feel good when you are on program? Is it just because you are accomplishing what you set out to (no small thing!) or do you physically feel better eating in this healthier way? Inquiring minds want to know!

I am holding steady at 242. I have been sort of shopping and cooking meal by meal this last 10 days and I need to get back into a regular routine before school starts, etc --- but it will be a routine based aimed at continuing this downward trend. So, I am sitting down with the computer and cookbooks etc. to plan my attack!

I am dubbing this Thirsty Thursday to remind me to swill more H20. Hope everyone has a strong day with many pounds of fat left broken and bleeding by the side of the road.

heh. i'm not running very quickly out of this thread...

i'm hovering around 252, i keep going to 251.8 and back up.

today is 251.8 and i bet once i get back to work, my weight will start dropping again... sitting at home snacking, even on healthy stuff, adds calories!
