Thanks Jacqui! I'm drinking my water for sure.

I did a bunch of reading today about the weight gain after cheat day. Much of the stuff we already know, which is we would need to eat 3500 calories over our maintenance calorie count, equaling to approximately 5500. Also that if you eat crappy food it takes longer to process in the bowel and also backs up the clean foods. So today I'm "processing" it all out...water, etc.

I'm meeting my girlfriends for dinner after work and already checked the menu. I love sushi, but can't afford those calories, so it'll be the spicy chicken lettuce wraps for me tonight.

Made a huge pot of chili and put it in individual containers. Some in the fridge and some in the freezer. Need to take a little time to cut up some snaking veggies though. Lots of veggies in the turkey chili, as well as low sodium thoroughly rinsed black beans, and no added salt.

I've changed my goal weigh in day from Thur to Sat, and my goal for this week is supposed to be 145. Yikes!

Hey Jacqui,

Nope, no binging here.. I have NO desire, which is a GOOD thing.. I think I'm snapping out of my funk.. I was hungry for Breakfast yesterday morning, but I opted for sleep instead...

Today, I had eggs and a cut of leftover steak.. so already better today..

good morning everyone. Busy week so far. I exercised Monday and Tuesday, I took a break today. Food plan is going well. I'm hoping to be back to ticker weight by Saturday. I'm thinking of trying to turn cheat days into one treat day. Maybe a chocolate bar or a pizza or a pasta dish, instead of a whole day of cheating. I can really out do myself on cheat day! So, I might try and rein it in a bit. Good luck all.

Case Study: Two groups were compared. One group ate slow sugar release, low glycemic index foods and another group ate faster release, high glycemic index foods (think white rice or wheat bread). Researchers then monitored blood sugar levels and appetite of the subjects, and found that those consuming the high glycemic index foods had a blood sugar level crash just a few hours after eating, and were hungrier sooner compared to the group that ate the slower release foods. In other words, an identical amount of calories consumed from a sweeter food triggered food addiction symptoms and appetite cravings.

TwoTots sounds like you've been doing well and you have a plan so you will hit that ticker weight minus some Way to go

Gary, yep just what Jacqui's been saying Are you at goal today?

I am down the .4 that I was up yesterday so back to 169. I really want to see something lower and make it stick, which I know won't happen until I can get to the gym on a regular. Cleaned the snow off the car this morning got all the way to Cary to get a call saying class is postponed till 11 ... you've got to be kidding me I was told to call a number at 10 to see whether or not the 11 time is a go or if class is cancelled (I'm still in training with the new job that's the class) I don't live close and I don't intend to waste gas driving up and down icy roadways with people that want to speed so today is an off daily now and I'm cold ... vent over

Stay warm, temps in the teens here today

Jacqui , when I was in 178 range i threw a tape measure around my waist and it was 38" I said to myself, I want to lose 2" around my waist. I'm not quite there yet. 36.5"
I defiantly am going to boost may calories, back up to around normal requirements & enjoy cheat days, 1st one super bowl Sunday, 2nd one 2/8- family friend who is having a big birthday party.. but with that said
I'm torn, I feel so amazing, do I want to drink, do I want to put other garbage into my body... it has me re-thinking, 30 days ago I would have never been thinking this way...
It sure has been a great month with everyone in this group, you all are part of my daily drive, motivation & accountability partners! so glad I decided to become an active poster!

Rennie, Thanks, I would have bet the farm I would not be able to lose 20lbs in 30 days. i figured atleast 6 week's. makes me all happy inside!

Well, that whoosh didn't last long! Lol! I'm up a half-lb today.

Week 28:
1/25: 171 Cheat Day
1/26: 173.5
1/27: 173
1/28: 171.5
1/29: 172
1/30:
1/31:

Today's Meals:
Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs, a teapot of green tea, Mio water
Lunch: a large veggie salad topped with rotisserie chicken, chopped walnuts, raw sunflower seeds, and ranch dressing, Mio water
Snack: mixed nuts
Dinner: split pea and ham soup (I had to eat around the potatoes that are in it, but my dog enjoyed them!), a teapot of green tea, Mio water

Today's Exercise:
Morning: Leslie Sansone 2-mile indoor walking video

Gary, Congrats on making goal! I'm glad you became an active poster too! Since you feel so amazing and know you did the right thing for your body, why not come up with a maintenance plan, one that includes cheat days, and a few drinks now and then, but nothing over the top? Usually maintenance means staying within a range since it's difficult for most people to stay at a single weight. Maybe your range could be 165-170 lbs. When you get up to 170, you'll know it's time to cut back and get back down to 165. You are so good at planning. I'm sure you can come up with a plan like this to "have your cake and eat it too"!

Rennie, yay on the drop back down to 169! I'm so sorry you've had a rough morning. I hope the day gets better for you!

Pamela, I'm glad you're getting back to a more routine eating pattern today! Sounds like a good breakfast!

TwoTots, way to go staying on track to get down to your ticker weight by Saturday! You've done such a great job!

Missy, I hope you had a great time out with friends! A spicy chicken lettuce wrap sounds yummy! I want to get some chili made this week too. I also have pot roast and ham in the fridge to cook this week. I don't know if I'll get to it all or not!

Gary I am sooooooo jealous You have worked this out wonderfully, you

Thanks Jacqui , it did when I got the call saying that I didn't have to go in which means today won't be counted against me . I want to see 165 so bad it's not funny ... however the taste isn't there yet, if you know what I mean. I know that I'll get there but when? I have changed that to my Valentines Day goal since I have already met all of the others I had set. It just feels like for some reason this one isn't yet tangible, smh. Do you get tired of hearing me complain?

LOL I'm telling you all send some chili down here it will surely keep in this weather ...I may make some chicken chili today since I'm here

B ~ 2 beef meatballs, green tea
S ~ honey roasted peanuts
L ~ 2 eggs with cheese and ham, green tea

Hi all!

Quick note now, but will be back online later.

Gary wow! If I'm reading this right did you lose 20 pds in one month. I mean, I know men lose weight faster, but still!!!! Super impressive.

I lose 2.2 pounds and am down to 150 this morning. What I noticed is I'm the same weight at this time last week. Seem to be doing the same things. Gaining a few over the weekend, and then gradually losing the water weight. I would just like to see some progress and not so many ups/downs.
