I'm going to a Superbowl party next weekend, and will likely have that as my cheat day, but as I mentioned I don't think I'll have any alcohol because that seems to throw me off for a couple of days. If it wasn't my cheat day I would probably have cut up veggies, hummus, chicken with buffalo sauce. All those items are allowed on the slow carb menu.
Thanks Jacqui and Rennie. When cut back on my carbs I lose water weight, so I think it'll come off quickly this week. I just need to be sure to cut the carbs down low. I probably won't have any beans after lunch also to keep carb count low. Jacqui I'm surprised you are retaining so much water because you seem to have a very low carb diet....? I think you mentioned hormones likely the culprit.
Rennie I hear ya. Sat was cheat day, and I didn't want to cook. It's hard to control sodium when you get food from restaurants. I do take measures in my cooking though.
So since today wasn't a great diet day as well, I think I'll avoid the scale for a couple of days until I feel like I have a handle on things again and I've lost the water weight from the last 48 hours of over indulgence. I definately don't want to get on the scale tomorrow!

Quick check in
Gary tomorrow you'll be at goal
my weigh in down .2 to 169 even. I saw 168.8 when I first stepped on but me with my obsession with the scale kept stepping on and 169 showed up 3 times so it won
Have a great day Everyone ... see you later

Hi Peeps!
Still did not go to the gym but had an ok day. Came home after work starving(!!!) but hubby had to wait 2 hrs for dinner due to meds, (did I mention I was STARVING!!!), so had some veggies with yogurt dip.
Thanks Missy! I must buy hummus! I love it. It was't allowed on IP so I forget it. Will have to add it to my Super Bowl menu also!

Jacqui I think that's great that your wedding rings fit Mine are loose when the sodium monster isn't visiting me
Steph how about some baked chicken wings for you, for the SB party
Missy I think you'll be fine, go ahead and face the scale
Joe good to see you and good job on the pound I think the apple sauce is a good choice I eat it sometimes for lunch when the kids don't get to it. All of a sudden they have realized that unsweetened/no sugar added doesn't mean nasty tasting
Pamela, hope you are feeling better spirits up

My water weight is still being stubborn. I had a suspicion it would be with the way the last few days have been going, but I really don't know what is going on with it. It's frustrating in a way, but by the same token, it's kind of interesting. It's like my body is part of an experiment, lol! I'm taking a weight loss path I haven't taken before, and I'm curious as to where it's going to lead me! I'd be more upset about it, but the way I figure it, it can't last, and I'm not in a race to lose weight or trying to beat a deadline. I've already lost around 40 lbs so I really don't have anything to complain about, and I'm staying on plan so I have no reason to blame myself for doing anything wrong, so I just have to wait it out. And while I'm waiting, I just happen to find the whole thing kind of fascinating. I did try a couple of things to see if it would make a difference. I took Pamprin today because if it is pre-Tom related, I figured that might help with bloat. It hasn't. Last night, I took a Dulcolax to see if that would help any. It didn't. The Dulcolax did its job well enough, but I'm still bloated, still holding water. My belly is not as flat as it was before, my jeans feel tighter, and my rings are tight. Nope, something I have no control over seems to be going on, so it will be interesting to see how it turns out, how long it takes, whether or not it is hormone-related, etc. I guess if worse comes to worse, I'll have to cut something back in my diet, but I really don't think it's diet-related. And so the experiment continues, lol! Anyway, I am down a half-lb from yesterday, and that's better than nothng!
Week 28:
1/25: 171 Cheat Day
1/26: 173.5
1/27: 173
1/28:
1/29:
1/30:
1/31:
Today's Meals:
Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs, a teapot of green tea, Mio water
Lunch: Wendy's chili and 6 chicken nuggets, Diet Dr. Pepper
Dinner: rotisserie chicken (no skin), steamed broccoli and cauliflower, Mio water, a teapot of green tea
Steph, there are some yummy meats you could prepare for Superbowl--meatballs, pulled pork, chicken wings--or chili or a hearty beef vegetable soup.
Missy, yes, I'm thinking it must have to do with hormones, but that's just a guess!
Gary, yay on the new low!
Rennie, 169 may have won today, but 168 is on its way tomorrow! Great job!
Joe, way to go on losing another lb! Applesauce for beans sounds like a pretty good trade-out!
You know, it just occurred to me as I was rereading my post before sending it that the reason I tried Dulcolax (which I have never taken before--not a fan of meds) is because I ran out of probiotics last week and was feeling irregular. Since I don't eat Activia yogurt everyday anymore, I had broken down and started taking probiotics (yep, in pill form!) but like I said, I ran out. Now I wonder if being without it could be contributing to this weight gain. I should go out and get some tomorrow just in case, but its going to be really cold, so I don't know, lol! That part of the experiment may have to wait until the weekend!

Jacqui, what type of probiotic do you take? Sorry about all of the bloat Hope it goes away soon, good job on the .5 down
My stomach was bothering me night before last and yesterday morning. Not miserable just uncomfortable. It subsided by mid morning thank goodness but as I said I'm not regular so I chalk it up to that most of the time. Then this morning I'm spotting. I need to go back and check but I think I was just on 2 weeks ago, smh.
Today up .4 to 169.4 and I have cramps
gotta go

I had a better drop today! I don't know if it will keep going at this pace, but I have my fingers crossed.
Week 28:
1/25: 171 Cheat Day
1/26: 173.5
1/27: 173
1/28: 171.5
1/29:
1/30:
1/31:
Today's Meals:
Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs, a teapot of green tea, Mio water
Lunch: large veggie salad with rotisserie chicken, chopped walnuts, raw sunflower seeds, and ranch dressing, Mio water
Snack: a handful of almonds, Diet Dr. Pepper
Dinner: crockpot meatballs in bbq sauce, cottage cheese, a teapot of green tea, Mio water
Today's Exercise:
Morning: Leslie Sansone 2-mile indoor walking video
Rennie, I forget what brand the probiotic is, but I get it at Kroger. It might even be Kroger brand. I just can't remember. I just know where it is on the store shelf, lol! When I get it again, I'll post the name of it. It's -10 degrees today, so I don't think I'll be going to get it today, lol!
Steph, oh no! Is the Fitbit completely destroyed?
Gary, you are so close to that high school weight of 165!!! I bet you'll get there this week! What are you going to do once you reach it? Is that your final goal? Are you going to start maintenance then?

Steph that just made me laugh, and I needed a laugh today. Although I'm sure you are ready to kill your dog. I just totally get it because my dog is always destroying my shoes. Good thing they are so cute!
So I faced the scale today. I'm going to remind myself that it'll take a couple of days to lose the water weight of a 48-hour cheat mistake. I weighed in at 147.8 the morning of my cheat day, I didn't weigh myself yesterday morning (thank goodness), but today I was 152.2. I think I can feel my body release more water today, so
I must have retained about 7 pounds in water weight, which is crazy...but I guess not unheard of since it was 48 hours of excessive eating high sodium foods.
Back to clean slow-carb eating and excercise though, so feeling good.
Jacqui as you can see I can feel your pain. You aren't holding onto too much. I think it just takes a couple of days, and I'm sure soon enough your water weight will go!
Good job Gary...you are almost at your January goal!!

Missy, good job getting back on plan! That water weight will drop off soon! Be sure to drink enough water!
Pamela, a 2-meal day is okay as long as you're not hungry (a signal your blood sugar is low) and you're getting enough calories per day. You don't want built-up hunger to cause you to binge or too few calories to slow your metabolism down! I'm glad to see you added a healthy snack to your 2 meals!
