I'm having a much better October than September. Omitting the nuts from my diet has made a huge difference for me.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

I'm still in TN and still on my Dad's scale which weighs lighter than mine. At first I started out weighing in my pjs, trying to get closer to how heavy my scale would weigh me, but now I'm weighing fully dressed, including shoes, because I think that's even closer. I won't be going home for quite a few days, so we'll see then!

I miss how much this thread used to hop, when everyone used to talk to, encourage, and support each other. I know everybody has busy schedules, so it's certainly understandable that there's no time to write personals, but it's still sad. It used to be great fun to come here and read all the daily comments. I'm glad everyone still comes to post their weights though, and if you can stay a few extra minutes, I hope you'll take the time to tell us how you're doing, congratulate someone who has hit a milestone, encourage someone who may be struggling a bit, or just say hi to each other! I just hate to see people slipping away, and they are. Even I haven't been posting here daily anymore, although I'm not sure anyone even notices. I'd love to see more life back in this wonderful thread, because there really is such a great group here and Joy is simply fantastic for keeping it going!

Hi back at ya, Keli! I know you'll get those numbers rolling in the right direction again soon! Keep your chin up!

GettinFit, woohoo on the better month! You are already getting close to goal! I'm glad you figured out the nuts! I always have to watch nuts too. I think they're what caused me to slow down the last time I did this diet! You have a great weekend too!

Leopardspots, that's not a bad blip up with TOM! You'll be back down before you know it!

Joy, yum on the Vietnamese food! I hope your scale continues a steady drop back down now!

HereIStand, c'mon 163's! That new decade is trying to stick! :

PrairieQueen, hang in there! A TOM whoosh will be coming any day now!

Shannon, on making it halfway to your final goal! Woohoo!

Raining, time for a new decade!

DivineDivina, yay on the drop! Keep going!

Jacqui_D: I notice when you don't post! You add such cheer to our thread. I hope your visit with your dad is going well. Funny that you have to weigh fully dressed to feel like you're in the right ballpark for your weight.

GettinFit: I heard of someone else recently who did much better without nuts. Nuts work well for me -- it's always interesting to notice how different we all are in what works best for us.

Today is my Carb Day, and Dad and I went to IHOP, yum! I ate 3 (yes 3!) pancakes and 2 sausage links! That was 3 hours ago and I'm still SO stuffed! But bless my Dad's heart, he's 94 and gets around with a cane, but he still insisted in making me brownies today (wouldn't let me do it) because he knows it's my Carb Day and he wanted me to have one of my favorite treats. <3 Full or not, I'm going to have to find room for those!

10/8: (177 fully dressed)
10/9: (176 fully dressed)
10/10: (175 fully dressed) Carb Day

Joy, aw, that's sweet of you! And yes, lol, I figure my Dad's scale is 3.5 lbs lighter than mine. His may be the more accurate one but mine is the one I use, so I want to try to stay as close to it as possible so it won't be so disappointing to step on the scale and weigh so much more when I go back home! :

HereIStand, woohoo on the 2-lb drop! Who needs 163 anyway, lol! You are just flying down the scale! Great job!

Leopardspots, congrats on your new low!

PrairieQueen, yay on dropping back down again!

Jacqi - I will try and post more often and be more encouraging. I hope you're having a good visit at your dads.

Gardnerjoy - I know I end up eating more nuts than I should and probably don't count enough Points for them. Once I get started, it's hard to stop with them. I'd probably do better if I ate almonds or walnuts instead of peanuts & cashews. I've been snacking on popcorn for the past 2 weeks since I stopped eating nuts.

I had a good day. I managed to get in a 2 mile walk in the pouring rain today.

Ky30, and great job on being down 6 lbs!

GettinFit, I'm having a great time visiting with my Dad, thanks! I saw you encouraging Keli before I even said anything, but it's so nice that you want to try to do more! I'm going to try to make a point of posting each day, myself. I know everyone can only do what they can do, not everyone has time, and many of us on here post in other threads too. I just miss how active this thread used to be, so I hope we can get back a little of that because it's a great thread and a great group of people! Yum, cashews! I love cashews, but almonds and walnuts are what I was eating when I slowed down my weight loss before, so you're probably smart sticking with popcorn, lol! Great job on the 2-mile walk, especially in the rain! Now that's dedication!

The scale is being very difficult. It's almost like it knows how badly I want to be in the 170s and it's just being mean!

Jacqui- Reading about your breakfast and brownies literally made my mouth water! Yum!

Raining, oops! I'm sorry! I should have thought about that before posting! On another thread, I'm used to posting what I eat each day, but they're prepared to read about my Carb Day over there. I should be more careful here! I don't want anyone to be tempted to eat foods they shouldn't! I do think that we can psych ourselves out when it comes to the scale. Many times when I have wanted to reach a certain number, my weight has temporarily stalled. I've always thought there was a correlation! Just hang in there! You're doing great!

I'm up after Carb Day but that's to be expected! Hopefully I'll start a descent tomorrow. I go back home on the 14th or 15th and I'm very curious to see what my weight will be on my scale! Hopefully it will be right on target! :
