Default ~night Owls #26~

Two pages is alot to skim through. So, here's a new thread. Hope you're all doing well op and having a good night. I had a pretty good day....stayed op and got some exercise in. Not much, but SOME. Better than none at all and you know what they say..."gotta keep moving".......even when you hurt.

Susan - Did you get my Birthday card? LOL.....I know, I get a little mushy sometimes.....

The weather has been incredible these past few days and is supposed to last through to the weekend. Then we're expecting rain. That's ok.....we could use it.

It WAS nice to have the stables grounds dry out a bit ...even though they are sand....it's still a bit sloppy after heavy rains.

Ok...that's it for me. I'm doing well on program, getting all of my water in ..... FINALLY!!!!! and getting in my fruits and veggies as well. I hope you owls are all doing well and I'll "see" you all tomorrow. Sweet dreams and sleep well my friends.
Hugs,

Default Hi Everyone!!

Just stopping in for a quick hello and an update for you all. I can finally sleep on my stomach and my right side, no problem, no pain. BUT, I can not even begin to lay on my left side, hurts too much. I thought it was where the sutures are but I felt around and I have bruised ribs right underneath, called the doctor and he said it is not uncommon and will go away in a few weeks. It doesn't hurt at all unless I lay on it so it is not too bad. Also That tape blister that I have may be infected. It really doesn't look like it but I have an area in my left breast that seems to be full of liquid, like a large cyst or something and I am getting a strange rash on my upper chest. My own thought point towards an infection and I am meeting with my surgeon after work tomorrow so we will see what he says, wish me luck. Except for those things, I feel absolutely wonderful and feel very fortunate that I came through the operation so wonderfully.

Judygal, the nipples are intact and reactive, LOL!! Lots of people lose their feeling for a little while in them but mine are fine, walking outside in the cold a few nights ago showed me that.

See ya Everyone
Bren

Brenda - I used to and still do call that "nipple erectus". In otherwords.....are you cold, or just happy to see me?" as my husband would say.

I know, I know....shame on me....I'm up to my old shameful comments in here. tsk, tsk.........TOO BAD! Heh-heh.....I know you're all laughing anyway....or atleast blushing a little. LOL

On a serious note though Brenda, I'm glad you're happy you had the surgery done and you're smart to see your doctor tomorrow. You don't want to play around with an infection. The Holidays are here and I don't want my "buddy" to be in any pain. Got it? Good!

That's it...just wanted to give you my personal opinion on the boobs thing. Did you get my "boobs" card? About the boobs swinging to and fro?? LOL.....I'm VERY jealous you know Brenda....yours will be nice and perky now and mine will still drop to my knees as soon as I take off my bra. AAAAAAHHHHHHH......I want a "lift".....

Goodnight........sweet dreams and all that stuff all over again.
Hugs to you all,

Hi everyone.. it was good to see Emmy's post. We haven't posted together in a bit.

School gets rough right about now, because EVERYONE, especially me, wants the 2 week holiday break. My last day is December 18th.

All is well here. Steve is doing okay and no crisis situations have arisin in a while.

Love to you all,
J

Judy - Great Tree and I'm glad things have been going smoothly at home for you. Christmas vacation will be here before you know it, hang in there. I've been thinking 'bout 'cha lately!!!

I was going through some of my files and in light of the season.....I thought the following was appropriate since we're all hustling and bustling with shopping, work and all the other things that sometimes make us forget to stop and think about what it's all really about:

If Tommorrow Never Comes

If I knew it would be the last time
that I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute or two
to stop and say I love you,
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything right.

There will always be another day
to say our I love you's,
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do's?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget,

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance you get
to hold your loved one tight..

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear,

Take time to say "I'm sorry, please forgive me,"
"thank you" or "it's okay".
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

Hi There,

Well lots of things going on here, not so good either. My company is being hit hard by the sept 11th stuff and we are starting to feel the crunch in a big way. Ofcourse we make the orange space suits but our major business is headsets used for communication. You have probably noticed them in many movies and tv, E.R., Castaway etc... Mostly when you see a helicopter pilot. They are light green with an intertwined D & C on the side. Anyway most of our customers are airports, big and small, flight schools, pilot shops etc... Even our big customers, department of national defense, motorola, boeing, etc... are losing business, in turn we lose business. They have been laying off people left and right for a couple weeks now and we only had like 340 employees to start. The layoffs will continue. I found out wednesday that I was being layed off but my boss knows I am a single mom of 2 kids and she pulled some strings for me and saved my job. Instead of being an accounting clerk, starting monday I am an administrative assisstant. I don't know if I will like it or not but atleast I have a job and I also got a 75cents an hour raise, not huge but a nice thing to have. the only problem is that in accounting we dressed very casual, like dockers and a decent shirt, well up there in the administrative offices we have to dress up, the president's office is up there too. So I have had to go out and buy some suits, skirts etc... Now I don't mind this but I am not a dressy kind of person. I have not worn a dress or a skirt in atleast 15 years. I just don't wear that stuff so I will be uncomfortable but I will deal with it. Atleast it will help me stick to my diet, LOL! Well anyway enough of the dreary stuff.

No infection from the surgery. They did drain some fluid out though. He said everything looks great.

Pj, you are soooo funny girl, you are killing me. Well this may sound weird but the boobs take a little getting used to, they are so different. No they don't droop anymore, they point straight out, LOL! They are not what I am used to and seem pointy to me. I like them much better, don't get me wrong but I just have to get used to them.

Judy, that is great that you get a 2 week holiday break, enjoy every minute of it. I have to go back to work for thurs and fri after christmas then I have jan 1st and 2cd off then nothing off til May, our long stretch.

Michelle, I have heard your call, and you should be feeling my foot kicking your butt right about now, LOL! Seriously it is a hard time of year for eating. We are here for you. I skipped last week myself but plan on going on mon or tues.

Candice, sounds like you are doing wonderful, keep up the good work. How hard is maintaining? do you do anything differently? Please share what works for you.

Setina, I miss you girl!

Later owls
Brenda

Brenda - Why do companies do these large layoffs just before the Holidays?????!!!!!!! I KNOW it's because of the $$$$ but why can't they just wait until AFTER the Holiday. It's going to devastate sooo many families and children.....I hate this!!!!! Thank God you've still got your job. I used to love getting dressed for work on Wall Street. I also loved "doing lunch".
Of course, it was always nice to get home and into some comfy clothes but I've had some jobs where I didn't have to get "dressed out" for and I just remember it making me feel really good when I would put on my makeup, get dressed in a "mint" suit, put my sneakers on to walk to the path/subway......go up the World Trade Center escalater and onto the sidewalk to meet my friends for coffee right on those large rectangular sculptures that used to be in front of the WTC. Then, one block from my building....I'd put my heels on. Anyway, you might be surprised and actually enjoy getting dressed up for work. Today, I'm always in shorts and T-shirts or jeans and T-shirts and it's nice to get dressed up once in a while and go out to dinner. I love the Holiday parties. This is my favorite time of year. I'm sure most people feel the same way but I also know that it's a very hard time of year for some who have lost love ones recently and this will be their first Christmas without them.

Candice - Nice snowman.

Judy - Dec. 18th will be here before you know it. I'm so happy for your not having any "bad" spells for a while with your husband. I hope it stays that way over the entire Holiday for you too. How are YOU feeling? Besides anxious about school getting out...heh-heh. Let me know what your weather's like.......I've heard alot of you out there are having warm weather for November/December. Our weather here is very pleasant. Sunny, breezy and mild. I hope it lasts but we will need some rain soon. We've been getting little drizzles now and then and we need quite a bit more than that. I can't wait for the really chilly weather to get here. Yes...it does get down into the high 30's here sometiems.....can't wait to light the fireplace. <grin>

Ok...I'm going back to bed. Woke up, went to check on Jackie (she babysat tonight until 11pm and I was crashed). She said she came in when she got home and told me she was here but I don't remember. I can't believe I fell asleep before she got home....it WAS only two houses away but I always wait up for her. Boy, talk about a guilt trip. Anyway, I'm really tired now and I'm fighting the temptation of hitting the cookies or SOMETHING.....so I'd better get back to bed.
Hope you're all having sweet dreams.
Hugs,

Hi Owls!!

Doing a quick "lurk" and thought I would pop in and say hey to all of you....sounds like everyone is busy . I've been trying to clean and organize so I can make room for the Christmas tree. We like to get a fresh one so I am waiting just a little bit longer....our weather has been so warm that I hope they don't all turn brown...might have to go find a Christmas Tree Farm and cut it fresh..LOL

Pj I loved your poem about "Tomorrow"..so very true...and waht are you doing up at 4 am girl...hope you got back to bed..

Bren So glad your surgery went so well...and gosh..."perky"...mine have gone south for the winter..maybe longer...hehe. I saw your pic awhile back and you are looking really good.....you'll have to share a new one with us soon. I am glad that they worked out a job for you. Sorry about the dressing up but maybe it won't be so bad....after all you've got a new "figure" now.

Judygal Gee...it will soon be time for your Christmas vacation...how are things going at school this year? Hope there have not been any fights...Glad to hear that Steve is doing good right now..hope that keeps up. Always good to see you too...

Candice I forget ...you are at lifetime and maintaining ..is that right?? Love the snowman....they are my favorites. Sorry your arm is still bothering you...take it easy..

Michelle It IS hard this time of year and I understand about you NOT wanting to waste your coupons but don't let that be an excuse to eat whatever you want.....I've been there and done that and it is so hard to get back to where you were/are. Speaking of that I need to take my own advice..so I will... I could use one of PJ's famous Butt kickins myself...

Well...Hello to all of you

Better get back to the cleaning at hand.

Default Yikes, I am ready but nervous!

I have been shopping all weekend, thank gosh I had some savings put away. I bought 3 suits, some skirts, slacks, shirts, etc.... I am nervous about learning a new job but atleast I know all of the people up there somewhat. I also will be dealing with out of our regional managers which we have in hong kong, the netherlands etc.... Hope they all talk good english, LOL!

PJ, yes it is so sad about all the layoffs and at this time of year too, hurts lots of people. People must have to leave the building as soon as they get layed off because they just disappear, you see them in the morning and then you don't see them again. I have to say though, that I am a little bit excited about dressing up, I will be wearing a skirt tomorrow. I am nervous but excited, don't like anyone to notice me.

Emmy, the card for my digital camera bit the dust and I need an 8mb or smaller for my camera. The smallest I can find is 16mb. I am still looking though and will send a picture as soon as I can get one.

I gotta go, I have lots to do still

Hello to everyone
Brenda
