Exclamation My God, there's only 3 weeks until Christmas!!!!

...and i havve not lost any weight in about a month. still trying to lose 6 by christmas. i really need someone to kick my butt into shape. I feel like a total loser. Every day I start out thinking I am going to eat w/in my points range and I always end up going over. I know that the plan will work for me If I do it the right way. WHY DO I INSIST ON OVEREATING!!!?!?!??!?!??!
is anyone else in the same boat? I really really want to be 147 by x-mas. i know it is going to be tough now to get to 147 in only 3 weeks, but honestly i would be happy with 150 by x-mas at this point. why can't I stay focused on my goals?
i am trying to do the weight watchers plan w/o meetings or anything. just on my own. maybe the meetings would help but I don't have the money. i can exercise all the time, but when it comes to food, i end up stuffing myself every night. every morning i think, okay put the past behind you, you can do good today. but i still mess up.
i'm just babbling here so excuse me. i just wanted to vent.
does anyone have any advice?thoughts? comments?
thanks for listening,
jen3160/153/138

Jen3: If night time eating is your issue, I would try to substitute something else for the eating. I find that most of my nighttime eating is out of lack of things to do...or mindless eating by the TV. Maybe pickup a hobby that you can do that doe snot allow you to eat. Or, some people start their points with dinner and count the 24 hours that way. That may work for you allowing you more points at night when you don't have as much control and less in the day when you have more control. But whatever trick you do, remember it all comes down to changing your behaivor and I substituting it with something else. I know you can do it!!!

We are in totally the same boat, my Christmas wish is to put 150 lbs behind me and head into the 140's. I've been sitting in the 150's since September. The first 50lbs was a breeze, these last 10 are a night mare. Hang in there, it'll start coming off again. Just give yourself a mini break for a few days. . take the pressure off and focus on maintaining for a few days and not losing. Once I quit stressing about it I started to lose again.

I know this feeling all too well. I have been struggling JUST like you since EASTER! What on earth has taken me this long???!!! Each and every day I wake up with a burst of energy and dedication, then by the time dinner gets here I loose willpower. You are definitely NOT alone!

I think the responses here are wonderful! I have personally taken up Scrapbooking to hopefully help me eating in the evenings. It has worked some.

I just wanted to let you know that you aren't the only one out there struggling. I have been for a LONG time. When I started this journey in January, I was hoping by the next January that I'd be at goal...unfortunately I got side-tracked. It's not going to happen again though. I'm READY!! And determined!!!!

Good LUCK!

thanks for your responses guys. i was wondering what kind of response i would get. it is nice to hear from other people who feel the same way.
i have taken up a few things to keep my mind off eating at night. one of them is i starting doing my nails. something simple i know but it takes time and i can't eat w/wet nails!
trish i never thought of doing what you said, starting the 24 hour period at night. it is a good idea. i kind of do that now. this week i have been eating a small breakfast, like a 2 point breakfast, then a small lunch (<5 points), this way i will have enough points left for dinner to not go over my points range. i did really well on monday, i only had like 20 points (low end of my range). last night i did well also. so this would be day 3! i hope i can do it.
when i was at my step aerobics class on monday, the instructor said something that really hit me: "a healthy body just doesn't happen, you've got to make it happen!" i keep repeating this to myself. it makes total sense. i think i have been sitting here wishing for weight loss, when i can't just wish for it to happen, i have to make it happen!

Oooh...painting your nails is a GREAT idea!!! I do that too...just to keep my mind off eating Plus you definitely CAN NOT eat with wet nails, my husband sometimes has to help me with my pants so I can go to the restroom!!! hehee!!!

I'm glad you are doing so well this week! It really makes a difference when you get back on track and are feeling good about it! Sounds like you are doing great.

This week has been an awesome week for me too! I've been staying at the low end of my point range, and I'm definitely feeling a loss this week (keeping fingers crossed).

And your instructor is SO right!!! I can remember feeling sorry for myself because I was fat -- and hating that I couldn't lose weight. When the fact of the matter was I wasn't trying to lose weight. I just wanted it to happen.

I'm proud of you -- definitely keep up the GREAT work!!! Ooh, I know something else that might help, it does with me any ways. I'll search the web for success stories (or even WW) and get so motivated and inspired by seeing before and after pics of ladies and men, just like me!!!! It truly helps me!!!!
