Let's track 3 - Jan 2007

Hi there! I'm going to start this one again. Anyone who wants to join in is welcome -- post your daily menus with points (if you're on flex). The idea is to keep ourselves accountable AND to get ideas from what others are serving up.

January 1 - target points 34

Breakfast: Stonyfield strawberry yogurt smoothie (5)

Lunch: tuna fish sandwich on sourdough bread (with butter) (9)
banana (2)

Dinner: lean cuisine, dinner entree (8)
1 cup watermelon chunks (1)

Snacks: 1 zone bar (4)
1 reduced fat ice cream bar (2)

6 cups water (with diet splash)

Total: 31 points (but I'm not hungry!)
Activity: 30 minutes fairly strenuous housework -- cleaning out cupboards and shelves and hauling stuff out

buffalosister1 01-02-2007 11:04 AM

Happy New Year Xan! I am back on 100% I want to be at goal by mid march. That is spring break and me and my family are going on a vacation to see a friend. That means I have to lose 20 pounds in 2.5 months. I don't even know if that is possible being this close to goal. All I know is that I am going to really work hard. Here is today so far.....

Breakfast
Oatmeal 3pts.

Oh!! Under the new program I now get 25 instead of 22 points. Part of me wants to do the 22 to really get to the 2 pounds a week. However, I know after eating pretty recklessly over the past two months, it may be easier for me to start off with that 25.

You'll hear from me later.

Xan 01-02-2007 11:15 AM

Hi Amy! Your goal certainly seems doable. Go for it!!!

I'm dubious about the new points boost, too. I had 31, now have 34, and I did not lose as well with the 31 as I did my first bout with WW years ago (that could be age, or it could be that the program was 1200 calories a day). I just have to be careful not to use the points "bonus" to eat junk.

Today's plan:

Breakfast -- yogurt smoothie (5)
Snack - banana (2)
Lunch -- pbj (8)
Snack - activia yogurt (2)
Dinner - steak, steamed winter squash and spinach (with butter) (12)

That's 29. I may add more later.

morrigan 01-02-2007 05:00 PM

No plan yet, but I did rejoin WW today. Gotta get the kids down for a nap. I will log in while (if) they sleep.

morrigan 01-02-2007 07:35 PM

Oat Bran Cereal (2)
Blueberries (1)
Latte (2)
Pretzels (2)
Tofu (2)
Tofu Salad (2)
Diet Bar (2)
Chicken (3)
Diet Bar (3)

19 points so far
2 cups of milk and veggie soup for dinner (4)
1/2 orange (1)
Diet Bar (2)

25 point day

Couldn't quite believe the scale when they weighed me in today. Glad to be back. I really enjoyed not dieting. I need to get over that. They allowed time for everyone to talk at the WW meeting today. One girl talked over and over about her disgusting/gluttonous behavior over the holidays. I just can't relate. I really enjoyed having 2 peices of pizza and huckleberry pie last night, and christmas cookies, and seconds of the really good casserol at christmas, and white russians at holiday parties, the homemade eggnogg with expensive whiskey.. obviously it was all very, very bad for me -- but it was a wonderful holiday. We have been to (or hosted) 12 large dinner parties, including a wedding, a baby shower, sliegh ride, seafood, asian food, cookies, and even a pie party in the last 3 weeks. I had apple pie for breakfast 2 days in a row after one of my (very skinny) friends delivered 2 hot homemade apple pies to everyones doorstep just before Christmas. It has been an absolutely crazy amount of food and alcohol.

I never ate until I was stuffed, I never got drunk once, and therefore was hoping the scale would have been kinder. I got everything else I wanted for Christmas, so just this one misstep I can live with. But still - I look at the numbers and just want to bang my head. My pants didn't even get tight, I thought that in itself meant I was doing OK.

Xan 01-02-2007 09:04 PM

It's important that you went back, though. We're SUPPOSED to feast at feast times :) I was there -- exactly where you are, the exact same weights (starting, right before you left and now). Exactly. 20 years ago. I didn't go back. Thought I could handle it. And I've attained my current magnificent proportions 5 pounds a year -- with lots of tries at getting it off, but none serious. It's huge that you went back -- congratulations! Recent weight comes off fast. Good luck, Morrigan.

morrigan 01-03-2007 11:44 AM

I am making veggie soup again today. I may take a stab at the gym. I am definately going to clean out my fridge. We ate elsewhere so often in the last two weeks I am afraid of the leftovers.

Today
2 - oat bran cereal
1 - blueberries
2 - creamer
5 - 2 diet bars
2 - tofu
8 - salmon
1 - salad dressing

only 6 points left for the day - 12:oo noon

buffalosister1 01-03-2007 02:36 PM

Hi girls! I am SO happy you are back Morrigan! I had a feeling you would be. I too feel good about my holiday eating. I really enjoyed myself and did manage to stay the same weight I was at Halloween. That to me is success in and of itself. Especially since I too ate pies, cookies, Mexican food, ETC.... the list is really long. I even enjoyed two Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes over the holidays. Yummy. Will do again next year. So, that is all behind us. Glad we all enjoyed it. Here's to enjoying it again next year with no regrets  as for today this is what I have done.... oh I need to finish yesterday's.....

breakfast
oatmeal 3pts
WW snack cakes 2pts (I am having sweet withdrawals but doing okay with it)

Lunch
lt bread 1pt
1tbs lf peanut butter 2pts
1 oz kettle bakes chips 2pts

5 peanut m&m's 1pt?

dinner
6" ham from subway no cheese with mustard and veggies 6pts
baked lays 3pts

a few of kids' cheetos to round out to 25.

I have to tell you about the m&ms. We went to the grocery store the kids and I. Well we went to two. I hit the farmer's market style one to get cheap veggies and fruits and some smoothie ingredients. Then we hit the regular store. Anyway, it was 5pm by the time I was checking out at the last store. So, my kids were heathens in the stores and I was starving and grumpy. So at the check out I grabbed a bag of peanut m&ms intending on sharing with the kids if they got right into the car and buckled up without me having to yell at them (AGAIN). They did and to prevent me from eating too many, I sat there in the parking lot and took my five and divided the rest equally between the two kids. It felt good. Just had to share. The whole bag sure would have been good. ;)
We are having a huge Caesar salad with grilled chicken for dinner. I have a ton of points left and will eat full fat dressing. This is EASY!!!

today...

breakfast
2/3 of a serving of steel cut oatmeal 2pts

work out 50 minutes and almost 500 calories burned

snack
pria bar 2pts

lunch
flat out bread 1
Hillshire Farm Pastrami 1
light laughing cow cheese 1
1oz pretzel bakes 2

Will check in later.

AJsMommy 01-03-2007 06:22 PM

Hello girls!!

Wow, it feels good to be back...and it feels even better to know I'm not alone. I pretty much took a 2 month hiatus, I stopped attending meetings Oct 23rd and tried to do things on my own....things were going well until Thanksgiving and then look out!!! Full speed ahead on eating everything and anything bad for me! I re-joined ww today, and was up 8.5lbs. I wasn't too discouraged, it could have been worse...and it pretty much is the high end of weight that I had been plateauing with anyhow...I was going from 197-202 off and on for months. Maybe now my body will let go of the 200's for sure, I honestly do not want anymore of the food I have been eating.
My short term goal is 189. I want to be far enough from the 200's, that a simple bad day won't throw me over anymore.

Here's my day:
B: breakfast bar 4pts (ate at meeting)
L: salad w/3oz chicken breast, 1 slice bacon and 1/4c. barbque sauce 5pts
S: 2 pt bar
D: bourban chicken, 1/2 baked potato w/ 2 Tbsp. cheese, 1 Tbsp bacon bits and 1/2 Tbsp. sour cream, 1c. corn, 1c. milk 12pts
Snack later: popcorn w/oil 4pts
All my water, and a workout at curves!

That's 27 out of 28 that I get now with the new program...4 more than usual, I too, am unsure about this.....but, there must be a method to their madness if all these people succeed on the program :D

buffalosister1 01-03-2007 11:38 PM

Finished off pretty interesting.

dinner
romaine lettuce
kraft Italian Caesar oregano dressing 3
chicken on salad 3
croutons on salad 2
parm cheese 1

cinnamon twist(x4) 4
snack cake 1
popcorn 1

I stayed within points. However, I learned to fill up at dinner. no more of the salad thing. It was not enough for me. Especially after my work out today. I wanted to snack on everything tonight. See you all tomorrow.

buffalosister1 01-04-2007 01:11 PM

Good morning everyone! I have had a busy day already and it's only 11am. I took my DD to the orthodontist. She is going to be seven in March and is ready now to get braces. Her mouth is a mess. Then, I went to the gym and did 20 minutes on the treadmill, 20 on the eliptical, and 10 on the bike. Forgot my cardio watch, but the machines said I burned about 380 calories. I may give myself two activity points. I may not. I feel I am steeling with the three extra points I get anyway with the new program.

Breakfast
whole wheat english muffin 2pts
1 egg 2pts.

SweetCakes417 01-04-2007 02:26 PM

Ohh.. I do this on my own board to keep track in my own forum..lol. But here is mine so far!!

tracteso 01-04-2007 03:07 PM

I just joined WW today even though I have been on this forum before. I just had a lot happen in the last month and I let myself go, so I am starting fresh. I am making a lifestyle change.
In the last month, I lost my girlfriend of 25 years and have had a hard time dealing with it because we still don't have answers as to what or why it happened. She was walking across a side street and was hit by a car. She was only 38 years old with two preteens and a husband.
I also am a teacher and had to put on a christmas concert at my school during the funeral time with no voice (laryngitis). I made it through but ate my sorrow away.
Sorry, I'm babbling. I will start my eating plan in this forum tomorrow. I am in the 25 point range and am using today to review the program and plan my week (grocery list). I need to get back into the game of life and start to take care of myself because we never know when our time on earth will end and I want to be the best I can be for my family.
So, here's to a new year. Cheers! (with my water bottle of course!)

buffalosister1 01-04-2007 09:23 PM

Wahoo! Welcome Jenn and Tracy. Glad to see both of you here. I have been on WW for a couple weeks shy of a year. I lost some weight before changing my eating just by exercising. Didn't take long to plateau and I knew I then needed to incorporate the way I eat. I took off basically from Halloween until now. I still went to my meetings though. I even maintained my weight. Well up and down during that whole time, but no gain in the end. This is the third thread of let's track and I have tried to stay current on all three. It has really helped me a ton. Hope it does you all too.

I ended up with another funny on point day. My morning was so busy that I didn't have breakfast until about 10:30-11:00. I kind of skipped lunch but did consume a pudding cup and some pretzel chips after I fed my kids. And I made up for it with some popcorn at the movies. So, here is how I ended up...........

pudding and pretzel combo (odd huh?) 2pts

4 cups popcorn at movies (no butter) 4pts

DINNER
fennel crusted flank steak 8pts
3/4 C Risotto 4pts
steamed green beans 0pts

oh, after the movie I took kids for frozen yogurt 1pt

I think that's 23 out of 25 and I worked out for 50 minutes today!!! I think I may have another serving of the frozen yogurt if I can get my hubby to go pick it up. If not, perhaps a skinny cow.

Tomorrow I am taking kids to meet friends at Peter Piper Pizza. They have a buffet of cheap pizza (that I love) and a yummy dessert pizza. I will try to take my own salad dressing and not let it turn into a disaster. I am trying to squeeze some fun in with the kids before they return to school. Chat with you all tomorrow.

morrigan 01-04-2007 09:50 PM

I completely blew yesterday. Eating and stress are definately my downfall. A girl that my DH hired was crushed by ice falling off a building at work. 19 years old and may never walk again. I feel so bad for her. She is a freshman in college on break with her family a 1/2 world away. DH was gone all day, kids wouldn't nap, I paced and ate the kid's pbj's.

Glad to see everyone back. New people too!

today much better
my dad is going to start coming to WW with me
kinda weird

I think he is going to make my mom feel guilty.

Breakfast:
3 - oat bran with blueberries
2 - latte
1 - creamer
6 - lean cuisine
2 - pear
5 - stir fry
2 - rice
2 - chocolates

total 23 points

morrigan 01-04-2007 09:51 PM

Skiing tomorrow :) maybe burn some calories. Fresh powder!

AJsMommy 01-04-2007 09:52 PM

Well today was much better than yesterday...Yesterday I went over by 7pts and I won't even admit why or how that happened, let's just say ww 2pt mint bars are a red light for me and eating 2 boxes in one night is just not even normal! I will not buy them anymore, good lord!! :)

B: FF capp 2pts
banana 2pts

L: tuna kit 5pts
apple 1pt

S: 100 cal chips ahoy 2pts

D: spaghetti w/wheat pasta 8pts
pudding 1pt

S: popcorn w/oil 4pts

I think I'm alitte under tonight, but I'm stuffed and feel good about my day...I got all my water, all my oil, 1 milk, 3 fruit/veggies but no exercise...I planned to get on my gazelle but my g/f came over and stayed much longer than we planned and now I'm too pooped to even think of it.

Hope everyones new year is starting out on a positive note!! :)

I think I did pretty good!! I'm suppose to have 28 points, so I hope being a little under doesn't mess me up! Anyone know if it does??

buffalosister1 01-05-2007 05:11 PM

I feel so good. I can not even believe it. Though I was grumpy the last two nights. Don't know if it's because I'm hungrier or if it's because I am truly having a sugar withdrawal. None the less I physically feel great.

This morning I got to the gym with only five minutes to warm up before my trainer. So I hopped on the treadmill just to get my hear rate up a bit before my training session. Then worked out with trainer for 30 minutes. Afterward, I made myself stay and do 15 on the elliptical. That took my calories burned up to 400.

Breakfast
access bar 3pts

lunch
salad 1pt
2 chs only pizza 8

snack
two cinnamon twists 2pts

13 out of 25 and I worked out too.

Here's the funny part. I took my own salad dressing to the pizza buffet. It worked out great. Don't even think the girl I met there even noticed. Not that I would have cared. But it worked out great. Not sure what we are doing for dinner tonight. But I still have all of my flex points left too! Yipee! Love to go into the weekend with those. May not make it back on here tonight, but I'll be on this weekend.

SKermie17 01-06-2007 09:54 AM

Hello. I'm new to this thread. Hope you all don't mind someone new joining.

buffalosister1 01-06-2007 06:13 PM

Welcome Dori. It is nice to have more people on this thread. The last one died out. so, the more the merrier. Dinner last night went well. I made homemade tacos and tostadas. I stayed within points and had frozen yogurt again afterward. I have really enjoyed the frozen yogurt.

Today as follows.....

Breakfast
Tall not fat pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks 6 freakin' points!!! OMG!

Lunch
left over taco stuff on baked Tostito chips 4 points

We are going to a friends house to plan a vacation tonight. We are going to eat frozen lasagna and salad and bread. She calculated the lasagna points for me as 8. Yet another on point day. Still have not used my flex points. I will use some tomorrow for my dad's birthday cake.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

AJsMommy 01-06-2007 06:35 PM

Howdy!
Yesterday was a good day, I was within my pts...Today I've got enough left for popcorn, but my day hasn't incorporated my fruits/veggies or milk....Do you guys really fret about getting those in?? Hubby wanted Red Pepper for dinner, which is a hole in the wall taco joint near us....here's my day:
B: oatmeal w/skim milk and splenda 5pts
L: pb&j on eng muffin 4pts, banana 1pt, baked chips 2pts
D: 3 tacos 12pts, chips & salsa 3pts
Later: popcorn w/oil 4pts

I worked out at curves, earning 2 AP pts which I've used....so I'm over pts by 1.

Last Tues I was 205.6, this am I was 200.6....so I guess TOM leaving and back to my dieting was def. needed :)

So far today, I've had 24 points total!! Much better improvement in higher numbers finally for the past 2-3 days! I have 4 points left for the evening to snack or whatever I want.. if I get hungry!! I just hate using them just 'to eat' since I probably won't be hungry later since it's already 7:36pm.

buffalosister1 01-07-2007 01:12 PM

Hi girls. Looks like there's quite a few of us on here at the same time this morning. Well, it's still morning for me in Az. Yesterday finished up just fine. I even enjoyed two light beers at our friends' house. Then we went to Dairy Queen and I used 8 flex points on a choc. dipped cone.

I don't worry too much about getting in all of my diary, fruits/veggies, etc. If I do notice I go too long without one or the other, I make sure to get some in. Our dinners are usually pretty well balanced and I eat at least two servings of veggies with dinner (since they are 0 points ;) Otherwise, I don't stress too much about it.

Looks like we all eat pretty balanced. Funny how sometimes when I read other's menus, I want what they had. Right now I want Jenn's toast with jelly. ?? I will not indulge right now. We are going to my parents' for dinner tonight. It is my dad's birthday. I will use a few more flex tonight. I really hope to see a 2 pound loss this week. I have really followed program.

Breakfast
pancakes 2
syrup 2
sausage 3
lots and lots of black coffee

enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

At the most already I'm at 15 points, suppose to have 28. I know we are diong something out for dinner, so I'll be sure to get my Subway again -- haha, shocking huh?? Oh well, it's working for me..haha. :D

AJsMommy 01-07-2007 04:38 PM

Don't ya just love Subway?? It's definitely a staple in my life for lunches out, or quick dinners where I want alot for low points :)

I got on the scale today at 5am, don't ask why...I woke up, and thought...wonder what I am?? It read 199.5. I went back to bed until alittle after 10am, and it was 198.8. Last Tues, it read 205. I'm not holding my breath on a HUGE loss, but at least I'm definitely in the right direction and my WW meeting on Wed. should be a nice loss of some kind. I am definitely back into the swing of things, and feeling so much better than I had when I went off the wagon for a couple months.
Here's today, although it's not quite over...I'll still post.
B: slim fast/oil/banana 7pts
S: 2pt bar
L: ham sandwich on ww bread w/mustard 2pts, baked chips 2pts
S: 60cal pudding 1pt
D: pork loin 3pts, potato 1pt, chip dip 2pts, green beans 0pts
That's 20 out of 28, and I feel like I've really been snacking today since breakfast wasn't until 10:30, lunch was around 12:30 and those snacks in between....I'll prob. have an ice cream dessert of some sort, I've got a couple 1/2 gallons of that Edy's slow churned ice cream that is low in points.
We'll see :)
Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

justsomegirl 01-07-2007 06:20 PM

Well... my January goal was to get to my pre-holiday weight of 179... I'm just one pound away already! Yowza! I lost five pounds already this month... that's crazy. I'm not complaining though! I'm sure it will start to slow down though because that's a lot of weight in such a little time, and nothing good lasts forever! Just wanted to share my progress!

buffalosister1 01-07-2007 11:25 PM

Fantastic Just Some Girl!! That is great. I am glad to see everyone back at it after the holidays. I am also to see so much more activity on this site. At least my activity :) Dinner went okay with my parents. My mom's cornbread was an experiment and it failed. Thank God! Kept me away from it. I ate a few beans and not much else for dinner. I did however have dessert. So, my flex points are all used up for the week. Good thing my week starts over Wednesday. I will have no problem sticking within points on Tomorrow and Tuesday. I have weigh in Tuesday night. Hope you all have a great Monday. Will chat with you all then. --Amy

Welcome fitbyforty. Glad to meet you. Glad you too enjoyed your holidays. I have done well so far today. However, I am tempted by the circus animal cookies I purchased for the kids. If they end up being a problem today, I will dump them in my garbage can. I already consumed two.

Fitbyforty, I LOVE the cycle classes. I have not been able to do any this year with my schedule. I have two kids in school. One is in 1st and one is Pre-K. I am a taxi until the day is done. I drive son across town for preschool and have to come back to hit the gym and pick up tapes I transcribe at home. Then I go back and pick son up. Then, I pick 1st grader up at 2:30. So, I can't squeeze a class in. This summer I hope to. Maybe I will really get into it and do a weekend morning class. I guess I could do that now??? Anyway, hope you are all having a good day. --Amy

HaHa, I keep telling my employer that pretty soon they'll be docking the price of toilet paper from my pay!!! The receptionist that works with me, is always laughing at how often I go :)
Today was very successful, I'm so proud of myself and can't wait until the official weigh in on Wed. My scale shows a loss, but you know how that goes...I don't want to set myself up. I workout at Curves, and a friend who is the Assistant Mgr. there and myself have a contest to see who can lose the most in the month of Jan. We started out weighing exactly the same. She called me last night, saying how much she consumed from Fri-last night...She had me cracking up, not at her, but with her...I don't know what she was thinking and I honestly do feel bad. She used to be quite heavy and would binge eat, she's falling into patterns like that on occasion and I think it's because she deprieves herself so much otherwise. She tries to do WW with some books given to her, but she's too strict. She needs to learn to have more fun with it, and not be so obsessed. On Friday, she had 4 herhey pie pieces and chinese....I can't even fathom that! Last night, she had a whole hershey bar dipped in peanut butter! I love her to death and am trying my best to offer suggestions, etc. She looks so good after losing 50+lbs. I wish she'd listen and lighten up on the strict way. Gotta love her!
Here's my day so far:
B: oatmeal square (I know it wasn't enough for breakfast, but it was a busy office in pediatrics today!) 3pts and some hot tea w/splenda 0ptss
L: tuna kit 5pts, apple 1pt
S: yogurt 1pt, 2 bite sized dove pieces 2pts (these are to die for and only 1pt each....definitely a nice amount of smoooooooooooth chocolate when you want something very rich!)
D: 4oz pork loin, 1c. potatoes, 1c. carrots 6pts
That's only 18pts so far and I get 28, so I have quite a bit left...it just was an odd day.
I got 4 fruits/veggies in, 1 milk and no oil, however for a snack I will make popcorn w/oil so thats 3 more pts, total of 21/28. Seven pts to use :P

Jenn - I've learned to give into my cravings when they're really bad, but not go overboard. If I don't give in once in a while, it usually results in a purge! Also, if I do give in (with fast food, for instance) and I'm at or above my points for the day, I snack on something 0-point if I get hungry again.

Yeah.. that's kinda why I caved tonight. I knew if I didn't and I'm out and about tomorrow I will get a BIG meal and regret it and give up, and I SO do not wanna do that.. I'm in this for me and for GOOD!! So I'm prtty proud of myself for at least limiting myself to my points and looked it up before I left and vowed to get what I did!! lol I think that's why I don't look at it as a 'strict diet' so much, since I can still eat out, just gotta portion and be wiser about it!! I won't be hungry for the rest of the night, we are in bed by 9-9:30 most nights and I don't eat after 8pm!! lol Plus, I'm way stuffed still!

Hi everyone. Wow! Everyone did great today. Jenn, you so don't even need to call it a "cave" you stayed within points. You are allowed. Good for you. I may have stayed in points but don't know. I left by binder with all my WW stuff in it at my parents' house last night. Then, I proceeded to eat without writing it down which I think resulted in some over eating.

Oh I too love those Dove chocolates. I get the dark chocolate Yummy!!

Here is how I think I ended up after lunch

those damn circus animal cookies 5 points!

left with 11

2 one point cinnamon twists 2pts

left with 9

Dinner
basil chicken 4points
rice a roni whole grain (good stuff) 4points
steamed broccoli with spray butter 0
salad with lt dressing 1

okay, that says that I am right on. However, I have to work still tonight (transcribe) and I love to nibble. So, I am scared. Better go for now. I have about three hours worth of work to get done. Today was the kids' last day off of school. So, I played all day. Now I will "pay"

Until later.........Amy
