Good morning!

Yesterday was a two workout day to make up for minimal workout on Wednesday. Did the LB day of Pat's last PN sequence in the morning, then went for a run in the park after work. Today I'm targeting the UB workout when I get home.

Pat - workmen make me crazy...

Cheryl - checking in and keeping a log definitely keeps me on track. Sounds like a good plan.

Nelie - reading the description of the program makes me tired!

Rabbit - staying injury free is a good goal!

Good day everyone!

4rabbit: lol, true. It's making some lifts pretty hard now. Pushups, deadlifts, cleans, are all out. My stomach is massive for only 20 weeks, comparing myself to other girls who are the same date.

Shannon: thanks! you guys are my inspiration!

Lydia227: thanks so much! I'm carrying very, very high (we can see and feel the kicks from the outside - at 20 weeks!). It motivates me to keep going - a coworker of mine really let herself go during her pregnancy and she ended up with gestational diabetes - really awful stuff. I am a little frightened of that. Being a former pudgy girl too, I gotta keep on top of things!

Lots of bad weather all around,eh? Still no snow here yet. What kind of Canada is this? 9C and raining (what is that, 50-60F?). Hmm.

I just sent an email off to Cathy Savage SOS, I think I'm going to head into figure in the next year or 2... we shall see :dizzy:

Good morning (barely, for us EST-ers),

Tomato: Don't work-people drive you crazy? I love when they give you the whole day as the time frame for their visit:
"yes, maam, we'll be there sometime between 7 am and 6 pm, ma'am" ...
"no, ma'am, I can't be more specific" ...
"yes, ma'am, we know that you have a job. We'll be sure to call 10 minutes before we show up, ma'am." [as if that's supposed to help]

And, I know it's polite to say "ma'am," but why insist on making it every fifth word? I know I'm old, for cryinoutloud, no need to rub it in!

Just back from the gym. Did the crossfit "Lynne," the main site WOD a couple of days ago:

warm up: 15 min elliptical + lunges, air squats, and upper body stretches.

"Lynne" is 5 rds: max reps BW bench / max reps pullups. I scaled to 90% of BW so that I could at least start with 6-8 reps / round

rd 1: 11 reps bench (135) + 8 pullups
rd 2: 8 reps bench + 6 pullups
rd 3: 6 reps bench + 4 pullups + 4 assisted pullups
rd 4: 4.5 reps bench (yay safety bars!) + 5 pullups + 3 assisted pullups
rd 5: 4 reps bench + 7 assisted pullups

"cash out," 3 rds of ...
5 knees to elbows (1st 2 with straight leg & pause at L on way down)
15 air squats

The knees to elbows felt good, even though my shoulders were tired. My core is definitely getting much stronger on the cross-fit workouts than it ever did on a bodybuilding type routine, no matter how many weighted situps or crunches I did.

I'm hungry!

Wow. After looking at your workout I imagine that you are. Great job!
I am so inspired by your bench press. 135 is still a Max Day goal for me. It's a little difficult to to attain though without a spotter. Just wanted to shout out a nice job.

I finally have solved the morning coffee dilemma. I found great beans...and I'm throwing away my coffee maker. While downsizing in my basement I found a french press that DH had stashed away. OMG. Nice. So Much Better.

Satisfying workout today. I did a warm up with my flat resistance bands. I haven't used those toys since July. Lots of lateral leg work and my glutes are nice and sore. I also love these for "deadlifts" as an activation exercise before my rack pulls. Just the right amount of resistance and the length keeps you in perfect range of motion. :D

Plenty of interval cardio and leg work followed. I had a play date lined up for DS2 which allowed me to spend a little more time on myself today. Always a bonus. Finished up with a nice nap on the couch, muscles appropriately fatigued. :)

It's great, isn't it? I find it hilarious that a few women at my CF complain that we don't "do" abs much. Hahaha! Mine are sore from tabata dead bugs and kipping pull ups. And what do they think a Turkish get up is working?

I'm a complete zombie today. I got up and did some good interval cardio, then stupefyingly boring administrivia at work all day. Mid-way through changing into my gym clothes, I almost fell asleep changing. I know we are doing a hero workout tomorrow (hard, hard, hard), and I usually stay and do the strength CF and regular WOD back to back on Saturday morning. So here I am at home instead of at CF.

:cheer: Go Cheryl!!!!! I'm sure your shoulder issues contributed to food issues. Way to take control.

This was the quote of the day on our cross fit board:

"The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins."

Coming up for air for a minute. Gads, will this week never end.... I need to sleep for 12 hours while some elves come and do my laundry, clean my house, change the sheets, yada yada. I haven't been home before DH is fast asleep since Monday. It's a good thing our policy is eat breakfast together unless there's some crisis/emergency. (Fishing counts)

Sounds like you all are getting some good workouts. I'm hoping to show my face in the gym tomorrow, but it's questionable. Sunday is a big 25th Anniversary party for our library building, and it will consume much of the day. Next week looks a little better.....
