This is my first post on the forum. I joined because I saw this challenge. It may be just what I need to get back on track with my weight loss. I'm still trying to figure out the posting here, too. Where do I get the weight loss line?

Thanks, Jay. I'm going to see if it works in this post. I see you are in California, too. I'm looking forward to being here to get that extra support. I haven't done so well in the past week and need to get motivated again.

I'm in the North Bay Area. In Petaluma.
Ally, I know why you want to start after the 4th...it's the holidays, and "special events" that are the hardest to get through. My problem is self control. If the food is in front of me, I'll eat it! And I keep taking more. It's just like going into a store: if I don't step in, I won't spend the money; but the temptation to go in always is present. I really don't feel hungry very often. So I don't need to eat nearly as much as I do. But I have trouble walking away.

Wink Going to

Going to start walking on my treadmill on the 5th of this month. Going to start eating half of what I do now. Going to quit drinking pop. Going to pray everyday for the strength to do this.

My biggest problem is not exercising. I remember long ago when I didn't drive and I had to walk every where. I'd walk to dq and eat fries and shakes till i couldn't breathe and walk back home. I was fine because I was active. Not to say that eating until you can't breathe is ok, but knowing that I don't have to change my diet radically. I just need to get on that treadmill

Default Me Too Me Too!

I'd like to join in if I could! I was doing well on WW last year then went to visit my kids in California in January, fell off the wagon and never got back on! I only regained 10 pounds (amazing, considering how I was eating!) but it's taken me a looong time to get motivated again! A BIG reason for my getting going again was reading "Marilu Henner's Total Health Makeover", and tweaking a few things I was doing. I've switched from Flex plan to Core but if I have to choose between something WW says is ok and Marilu says should be avoided, I avoid it. I'm feeling lighter and I AM EXERCISING! Wednesday I did my Windsor Pilates Circle workout for the first time, and yesterday I did a Marsala Bhangra workout for the first time -- boy was I sweating! I was really watching the clock the last 15 minutes but I earned 5 big exercise points! Don't think I've ever done that before.

I'm not going to focus on a specific amount to lose because I have so darned MUCH to lose and I need to focus on getting off that seesaw and being healthy. I think posting here every day will help keep me accountable.

My new food discovery of the week: Trader Joe's Sun Dried Tomato and Basil Hummus. Yum, yum! I don't normally like garbonzo beans but prepared this way they are delish!

Good Morning Ladies

Yeah it's Friday!!

Wow there's so many new people here. Glad everyone has joined us.

Jaya-Thanks for all the pictures. You know that we're going to start expecting them now for our dose of daily smiles.
The painting you did is great. It reminds me of being somewhere tropical. Now if I only had a body like that I'd be all set.

ladynredd-I now how you feel about watching the numbers. It is so overwhelming sometimes. Just take it 10lbs at a time

allymaehey-You can start whenever you want. We'll be here for you.

Stevi-Glad you joined us over here. You are always so motivating. You're just what we need. I love reading your posts.

spunky1-Welcome

Hope everyone is having a fantastic day.

Talk to you all later.

Hey guys (or I should say ladies)! I am down 6 pounds this week. I am so happy. And to think I said I wasn't going to start the challenge until Monday. I didn't think I would lose anything. I haven't made any major changes, just cut out snacks and soda (and frankly, I had soda twice this week) and upping my water. So, I really can't wait until I start South Beach. WOOHOO!!!
