Psalm 34:17
The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
Pat lay crying in bed. It was so hard. It seemed that for every three pounds she lost, she immediately gained two back. She really wanted to lose weight, but she felt so weak in the face of temptation. Wasn't there anything that could help her? Pat fell asleep that night with a prayer on her lips. Strangely, she felt a wonderful peace the next morning. The battle was truly tough, but she was once more ready to face it. God didn't take away the struggle, but He was able to give Pat just what she needed to carry on. That is the wonder of our God.
Today's thought: I'll keep fighting fat until I'm fit!
Nancy: The Clydesdales are such beautiful horses. When I was a kid, we would often see them in parades locally. The Super Bowl Clydesdale ads are among my favorites...//Get better soon.
CieCie: I watched a relatively new film, a family film, called News of the World with Tom Hanks. He takes a journey with a white child who was raised by Indians with the intent to get her back to her biological relatives...
I got to go swimming this am. It was wonderful. I am really tired now. Afterwards, I did some grocery shopping.
I did a lot of weeding yesterday, too.
Teri - 2 jock straps?! I guess necessity is the mother of invention.
Nancy - I can definitely imagine calling for help at the gym! I splurged on a zip up sports bra after a shoulder injury and it is WORTH IT! I hope you feel better soon!
Went for an 8k hike yesterday and my calves are killing me after those hills! We were in the habit of hiking every weekend, but summer has been so chaotic I guess I let it get away from me. Great hike though and spent an hour or so playing in the waterfall. I'll stretch out with some gentle yoga tonight.
Food-wise, the bbq got to me and the weekend was not as stellar as I would have liked. Though I did have some wins - not stopping at Starbucks, packing a healthy lunch for the hike etc.
My middle child starts kindergarten tomorrow. Today I am labelling everything and trying to soak up the sun with him before this new chapter of his life begins. It's such a different world than when my oldest started. Stupid pandemic. I'm really going to miss walking him into his classroom the first day (cue all the tears - for me, he'll be fine).
Hello to everyone!
Well I did finally get the medication I needed for thrush. Dr. took one look at my throat and went thats what you have all over! I asked for refills on the meds since last time in May it took two rounds to clear up. I also called my Dermatologist to say I will no longer be taking the medication because of the side effects. This has been an ongoing battle since the first of March.
On the plus side when it hurts to swallow you eat less and my weight is dropping,
WI 148.4 this am....I can not remember seeing that number before the year 2000!
Not much in the way of exercise
I have tomorrow off too so will jump into personals then
Good night all! Power walked to and home from my meeting tonight. Ran errands both ways. Nancylmrn, don’t blame you for calling your dermatologist and telling her or him that you won’t take that medication again. 😁🍀😷❤️
Teri, I've both seen the movie and read the book of News of the World. Pretty good.
AuspiciousOtter, so sweet on your little guy starting kindergarten.
I took in too many calories again yesterday. Reality check: my weight is up. Over the past year, I've gained back about half of what I've lost. Well, go figure.I'm not giving up though.
Good morning! Rachel, I use MyFitnessPal to keep track of what I eat, of the amount of water I drink and my exercise. It helps! Will have breakfast and work out in a few minutes. 😁🍀😷❤️
