Hi everyone. Thank you for the good wishes and great suggestions. I am feeling better today. I need to remember to chug some slippery elm sludge after writing this.
Some people have asked me what the frozen lemon protein thingy and what the Vegan puffs are.
Lemon protein thingy is: I freeze individual dessert bowls. in a blender I put water, org lemon juice, Org. tart cherry concentrate (great for inflammation), Whey protein powder and stevia in a blender. I add ice cubes and then blend on high speed until it is thick and greatly increased in volume. Then I spoon it into the frozen dishes and put back in the freezer. Because it has no sugar I have to scrape to eat. Rather than it being soft enough to eat like ice cream. For me its a good low calorie low carb treat.

The Vegan puffs are Vegan Robs vegan cheddar puffs. No cheese. But they taste good. No need to try them because they are NOT low calorie. I actually just discovered that the caloric count on their website is higher than on the bag :( oops.

Diana I am SO sorry you have shingles :( I am hoping that since you are not going through great emotional stress as you were when you originally got it, you will heal more quickly. As you know, many people do not experience the side effects of medications. I am hoping that this is the case for you. May you heal quickly. you wrote that you no longer have angioedema. That's great. How did you finally get rid of it? Congrats on the .2 loss.

Jen thanks for the info about the LS happy walk. I just googled and found the video. I saved it for tomorrow. Too late to do tonight. You asked if Coconut aminos are salty. I do not think it is. It tastes more like light teriyaki sauce. I buy the Trader Joe's. Private labeled for them. The ingredients are Organic coconut sap, water and sea salt. Calories 20 per T. . Re: facing being without a little one in the home during the day, I can see how that would be very hard at first. I hope when that time comes, you will find a way to truly be okay with it

Syck glad you have the Vegas anniversary trip as your motivator. Although it is several months away. I am sure you will get to wear your bikini top. When you get closer you will cut those carbs and lose like you always did. Zap

NancyL Congrats on the .2 loss. thanks for asking, yes i am feeling better. I think that chugging the slippery elm sludge helps a lot. Hope you enjoyed your "retail therapy". Looking forward to hearing about what you bought.

Ciecie You continue to amaze me with your power walks. Are you getting a new Dishwasher?

G Nancy I hope you did okay being out in the mud and rain with the dogs.

Rachel thanks for the good wishes, I do feel better. Congrats on meeting Friday's goal. Yay for that.

Momwannabe 6.3 pounds in three days? Wow oh wow that is amazing. congrats. That burger you had sounds delicious.

Emily congrats on the fasting day. amazing that you were able to do that. Great willpower.

Saturday was not good for eating. I just blew it big time. I asked myself after my sensible dinner if it was worth it. The answer was that it was well worth it while I was doing it. But I do have some eaters remorse now. which will increase tomorrow when I put on my jeans. I know the next 8 days will be consistently good. No sugar. And at the end of the week I will be cutting out almost all salt. So snack foods will be replaced with much lower calorie frozen peaches. This is in prep for my regular dr appt. No salt, I want the BP to be in a good range. It is what I always do.

True confessions:
Coffee
B a baguette roll, butter and eggs and salt
S sweets (no need to detail food porn :)
L Egg, low fat feta and onion omelette with salt
D fat free stir fry
Sunday I will be back on track. will be less than 1400 calories.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday

Good morning

Diana, How AWFUL on the shingles . I've always dreaded the thought of getting those. At what age can a person start getting those? I will pray for you.

Flower123, how are you? Are you feeling better?

Ciecie, I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing, refreshing vacation :D

Today's goals: treadmill, sit-ups & stretching, veggies, fiber, 2 liters water, 1200 calories.

May you all have a special and encouraging day.

Rachel1234 02-17-2019 03:17 AM

Flower123, we must have been posting about the same time! I'm so glad you are feeling better than you were. Thanks for explaining about the frozen lemon protein thing. You are creative! And those vegan puffs sound good; too bad they are not low cal.

Good Morning - 134.2 Hold which is wonderful because the poo fairy had not visited for TWO days and I felt quite bloated. Broke down and took some senna last night and between that and several large glasses of water and vitamin C. Success. But it was after weighing. Yesterday was 1752 in/1718 out and 12,317 Steps. Today will be steps in the am then our team has a board meeting at a restaurant this afternoon. As lovely as the menu looks, I am getting a blackened chicken breast with a side salad. Well, I had not been consuming as much chia because my fiber was so high but guess I will go back to my normal 2 TBSP a day dose. Lots of water. I think I would have gone yesterday but the urge hit while in the woods and......you know.....there are some things you just don't do and once it goes away......TMI

Dog training was good. I felt great I could keep up with our trailing dog handler and we had some great problems. When I got back, the dogs got a bath. Funny...Beau with his very thick undercoat and his habit of rolling in mud, does not hold a lot of dirt in his coat. I think he sheds off all that dirt with all the hair he sheds. Tilly who has a tight coat holds a lot of dirt. Well both are clean now thanks to Dr. Bronner and some warm water. Then I got to mop the floor - LOL - was not wearing my fitness logger for all that but washing two German Shepherds is an energetic feat. Today after their walk I will brush them out as warm water tends to blow undercoat and do some light nail dremeling. I am planning on learning about Field Bred English Cockers for my next dog when I retire. Smaller package and great working drives. They use working cockers and springers a lot in the UK for detection work. I imagine with the TSA getting away from pointy eared dogs (GSD, Dutch, Malinois) for explosives detection we may start seeing more of these in airports. Just like German Shepherd (GSD), the working bred dogs don't even look like the same breed as their showline counterparts.

Today is planned and is 1476 calories. Breakfast will be the yogurt/chia/kefir/banana/almonds/choc chips. - Lunch will be blackened chicken breast and side salad with blue cheese - Dinner will be two egg omelet with onions, peppers, cheese, salsa and a side of kimchee along with a side of potato for the potassium. I need to get away from watching TV at night too. Limit = ONE episode either Greys Anatomy or Star Trek original series.
____________

Flower - thanks for the recipe. I am going to share it with my husband who has gout. He uses the tart cherries because they are anti-inflammatory.

Diana - so sorry about the shingles. Did not know you could get them more than once. I am so scared of them since so many suffer so much. Will pray for relief for you. Currently on a long wait list to get the new shot.

Jendiet - Glad the chia worked. No breast concerns. About 15 years ago they found a lump and removed it. Biopsy showed it was benign but they inserted a radio-opague marker and check it each time. About 5 years ago I had an unrelated small cyst - they did an ultrasound and it has since gone. I still do annual mammos. Not sure when they will but cut me back (they do when you get to a certain age)

Syckgirl - You guys really like Vegas. Have fun

Momwannabe - Funny how that works. You put in the hard work and it pays off. Yay for fitness!

Nancy - That whole water thing with the scale. You know. Any time my weight goes up my water goes down and vice versa. I am not so sure about accuracy with this thing.

Diana3271 02-17-2019 07:24 AM

Good Morning, Everyone!

Thank you for the prayers. It means a lot to me.

Flower Last year I decided to try to get to the bottom of things again. I contacted one of the angioedema organizations. They recommended a Dr. in my area, who I went to. I previously went to one of her colleagues. I was diagnosed twice from two different specialists with angioedema. When they tested last year, I showed nothing. I even did additional food testing, etc. Everything is gone. But I have continued to have hives and something makes the inside of my mouth react. But it has calmed down a lot. I also seem to have a sensitivity to beeswax in my old lipbalm. That caused the outside of my mouth to flare up.

Jen Thank you for the info on coconut oil and L-lysine..

Last night: Full Body Stretch
This Morning: Oxycise

Calories for yesterday: 1405
Weigh In: 187.4
Down: .6

Have a Blessed day!

Copied from Crosswalk Devotions for Dieters

February 17

John 16:33
'These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.'

Sometimes we just get tired of dieting. It takes a lot of energy to diet, and without the foods we love, we're sometimes too weak to fight any longer. Our diets become bigger and bigger burdens. If we're not careful, we can lose sight of the fact that our diet won't last forever. All things come to an end if we will only be patient enough to wait. It helps to remember the temptations of Christ; how He triumphed over them, and then, before long, how they ended. Dieting is not punishment, but discipline. Though it can be a tribulation, losing weight carries with it a special joy.

Today's thought: As the fat fades, so does the tribulation!

jendiet 02-17-2019 09:56 AM

Diana, yay for the down!! Inflammatory response draws water so I'm going to say prayers working and inflammatory response going down. I love your devotion today...I thought about it when I was chugging my bullet coffee thing I discovered yesterday...talk about pep energy and burn? Perfect for worship...I did not ENJOY that someone complained about my blender noise so I chewed the cottage cheese curds at the bottom ...I dont mind chewing chia seeds though. ..ah well...

Flower, so glad the SE sludge worked well. My mom goes to the river to find wild herbs and she makes her own root beer out of something in the yard, she also told me about wild lettuce being great for pain ...I grew up learning homeopathy...so I totally get and ENJOY your posts...I might try your recipe because i LOVE cherry anything with xylitol because stevia just doesn't do it for me. I also love coconut anything, but I think I draw the line at that..I got some coconut oil ghee from Walmart and planned on using it as a moisturizer but it had a rancid smell, didn't know if Ghee smelled like that or the stuff was bad. Took it back...I'm going to pick up some ghee because I heard it is wonderful moisturizer...what do you think?..thank you for your kind words

Granny, cocker spaniels are so sweet, I have heard they have an inherent problem akin to dementia and I had a friend with a lovely older cocker spaniel, Gambit, that was a little crazy in his old age...Do the types you mention have that problem? Why don't we see more Collies doing this kind of work? I love all the dog info. Glad you got them cleaned up! Yes that is a chore, my tracker dies when I'm in the middle of doing my best exercises or chores for steps too...I'm glad your mammos are all clear.

momwb, that is awesome!!!

Emily, how is it going, did you enjoy none fast day? I did that until my cravings for carbs started making my nonfast days too high...I was undermining the fast days...

ciecie, enjoy your vacation...although I'm sure you will find a way to power walk!!

syk, how many days yet????

Nancy, I go to salvation army for retail therapy, my favorite sunglasses broke...they had hearts on the sides...I found a pair of foster grants that cover the crow feet area of your face, which I like but they aren't cute...what did you find...as a girl, my mom favorite past time was garage sales, second hand shops and gym.

Rachel, they are a remnant of the chicken pox. It really makes me wonder about the viruses reactivation in your body though. Shingles are part of the herpes family...so in reality in can become active at any time BUT not every one who gets CP gets shingles...they think it's more common in elderly because of a weakened immune system...

oh man, didn't realize what time it is, got to get to church...will finish later...

I did weigh at 178.6 today so I am going to get further into 170s before ovulation but I woke up feeling frisky...so maybe going to drop an egg soon...ttyl...

Syckgirlsfv 02-17-2019 11:46 AM

morning ladies!

Jen hi! 9 days to score release
Diana I'm sorry about the shingles! I had them once when I was 25...not a bad case, it was a small patch on my back but that HURT. Prayers for you!
Flower you are right, I will do the lower carb thing before Vegas but it is SO much harder now!
Granny yes LOVE Vegas! DH will not fly anywhere, ever...we can drive to Vegas in 4 hours or less and it has everything. :D

Last night I made peanut butter cookies with almond flour, peanut butter, honey, an egg, and a small amount of baking powder. They came out good! I do need to use the full amount of honey next time because they could stand to be sweeter, but it was nice to be able to have peanut butter cookies that are grain free. I also have coconut flour here but have never used it yet.

Lunch ended up being some kale salad with grilled chicken breast from our Valentines day barbecue...still have a turkey burger patty, pork bacon burger patty, and chicken breast. I think we also have a beef burger in there too. Dinner was a baked potato with light sour cream and Franks hot sauce, and half a bacon wrapped sirloin. Had 2 glasses of red zin as well. I did get to the gym and lift weights.

Menu:
b - so far just coffee, need to figure something out here quickly before we leave for church!
l - tbd
d - probably a pork bacon patty on cauliflower flat breads. Maybe some salad.

I forgot to mention we did those life scans you hear about...about a month ago now. They scan for aneurisms, plaque build up in the arteries, osteoporosis...I forget all the things there were 5. I did it because even though I'm not in the age range they suggest, I do have high cholesterol and I don't take the statins my doc prescribed last year. I never filled the scrip, either. So I was curious to see if my arteries had build up from it. They don't! I have zero build up, no bone density issues or threat of osteoporosis, and no threat or existence of aneurisms. That makes me feel better!

I have also been using lemon grass essential oil internally daily to lower the cholesterol, but I haven't had my blood done yet so it will be interesting to see if it has gone down or not. There are a few oils I use internally...turmeric is one and another is called Slim and Sassy. All are good for cholesterol.

Everyone have a great day! I am off tomorrow (presidents day) and going to Huntington Beach to see my Dad, who is moving on Tuesday to Arkansas. He has had enough of the wack jobs running California. I get it. But I can't give up this weather I grew up in!

Back later!

nancylmrn 02-17-2019 12:14 PM

Good morning to all
WI up .4 171.4 sheesh, BUT Yesterday I actually stuck to the weight watcher guidelines, last Wed, Thur and Friday I just logged my food and beverages using the point system and was way over everyday. But yesterday I stayed within budget easily. So it is kind of fun for me to explore another plan. The goal is always to find something I can do long term. I think the biggest eye opener has been alcohol which I knew was not good so once I remove that from the 'play list' I am doing ok.
Retail therapy went well, I only purchased a long sleeve tee (sale $5.00) and a fake leather look bomber like jacket (sale $15.00) so I did well. Plus over 10,000 steps, lunch at olive garden (soup and salad) so that part was very nice.

Syck congrats on the no cholesterol, I go to have my blood work done at the end of the month
Diana I was sorry to ready you have shingles, I did not know you could get it more than once
Jen I am doing a happy dance for you:carrot: and being below 180
granny have you ever thought of 'slim tea' basically it is tea with something in it that wakes up that darn PF, a cup of tea for me in the morning and by the next day PF is not a problem
Rachael, flower, mamawann, weekend, teri, kelijap and any I may have missed I will make comments later I need to scoot and groceries for the week

grannynancy 02-17-2019 12:56 PM

Nancy - The tea has senna in it; not for long term use; I hope with longer term the WW works for you!

https://www.healthline.com/health/senna-tea

Jendiet - just starting to do my research and cockers, springers, brittanies, and boykins are on the short list-shooting for under 35# the working varieties share few genetics with the typical pet / show lines though. My goal is to be ready for a new puppy when I retire in Sep 2020. Beau will be 9 and Tilly will be 7.

Syck - Great news on the arterial plaque and lack therof.

Shedmyfat 02-17-2019 02:44 PM

Super Excited

23 pound weight loss!!!!! Praise god just reading all of these motivational post made me wake up and smell the coffee I have been on my journey for only 6 weeks and it becoming a lifestyle change. I’m in such a better mood and my self esteem is through the roof. A close friend of mine named Shelly introduced me to a program and I am so appreciative to her. Hope everyone reaches their goal and continues to stay positive

Weekend Boater 02-17-2019 02:52 PM

I just lost a big post and I have to go so this will be aquick one. Diana, sorry to hear that your not feeling well and I so wish you a speedy recovery. Hope to catch up with you all soon...meal plans have been good, more on me later. Wishing everyone a good night and brand new good day tomorrow! Hugs to you all.

Weekend Boater 02-17-2019 02:54 PM

I was real busy past few days as I set up a donation drive for a local family that lost their home. I spent the day before making the poster and dontation boxes and getting everything ready. Yesterday I went to set up in the plaza outside of the market (DH helped me a lot and even took over a shift so I could come home and change into warm socks). We raised 1,000 dollars and we brought it over to the family after. Everyone was just so nice and what a wonderful and helpful community, it's nice to be back in my hometown near my family and people I grew up with my whole life!

Weekend Boater 02-17-2019 03:04 PM

shed! OMG congratulations! :) :carrot::bravo::cheer2::cheer2: that is wonderful! Thanks for sharing with us.

.

granny, yes I knew it had something but could not think of this morning when I was posting. I only use it occasionally, and I do mean occasionally. Maybe once or twice a year LOL Most times if I have a problem I just wait it out and drink water. Our bodies have a way of straightening things out

Syckgirlsfv 02-17-2019 06:01 PM

home from church...breakfast was some sweet potato fries I had leftover and some cottage cheese, but it didn't really hit the spot and I didn't eat much of it.

Lunch was BAD lol - PIZZA! the church gives us lunch every Sunday after services and it's usually cold cuts and salad and stuff like that, but today it was pizza and I had one piece of regular crust hawaiian and some smaller pieces of thin crust. Totally not grain free!!! We are going to go do cardio in a few minutes so that will help.

tonight I plan on doing a baked mac and cheese using cauliflower and yellow lentil penne pasta. NO grains :D

have a great day all
