Oh, no ... I liked it a lot! The QUICHE crust was done in a conventional oven and was. Meh. The potatoes we made in the air fryer were good. Just not sure how often I would use it and for what but since we already have an instant pot, I really need to more fully explore the possibilities with it before I spend more money on kitchen toys.

I just got news that my mammogram from last Thursday was completely normal. I'm grateful for that.

I also like all the ideas of the kitchen toys and gadgets but I don't know that I would use them enough. All the infomercials on TV are so intriguing. We have a very small kitchen and really don't cook much do to work and our current lifestyle.

1 John 4:10
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

God has given all to make us happy. He has blessed us with a beautiful world, a wonderful life, and many opportunities for fulfillment and joy. He asks that we respect His gifts and endeavor to be the best people we can possibly be. To help us, He sent His only Son to come into this world as an example. We can know God's desire for us through His Son. Not only did His Son come as an example, but as a Savior, to allow us to be reconciled with our God. All that we have received is from God. On this glorious Christmas morn, make a gift of your life to God. Give Him the only thing that truly matters: You!

Today's thought: If I can in any way be used, help me bring about peace on earth and goodwill to all God's children!

2 Corinthians 4:17
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

The army had been good for Stan. When he was younger, he was completely undisciplined. The army had taken care of that. He had to work his tail off to get into good shape, but it was worth it. The short period of affliction he suffered through helped him in so many other ways. The folks back home couldn't believe the change they saw while he was home for the holidays. God disciplines His children on occasion because He knows the lasting lessons we need to learn. Diets help us grow in maturity and fitness for the kingdom of God.

Today's thought: A gain in discipline means a loss in weight!

Lunch I made Beef Tips in Gravy for DW in my Instant Pot. She raved about flavor and how tender they were. Starting to use that Instant Pot almost every day. So glad I bought it.
My lunch was a chicken leg quarter I cooked in my new microwave. I have started frequently using Montreal Steak seasoning on my chicken. Yes weird I know but I like the flavor.
My dinner was a huge cheese omelet. Five eggs and two ounces of sharp cheddar cheese. Topped by Frank's Hot Sauce.

My totals today were 929 calories, 3.25g gross carbs. My percentages were great for a Keto diet. 2% carbs, 63% fat, 35% protein.

Nancylmrn Lamb was an acquired taste for me. My DW and my Mother In law's favorite meal was lamb. So for the sake of peace I learned to tolerate it and finally to like it.

GrannyNancy I use my air fryer to make home made oil less French fries for my DW. I like chicken thighs, legs and especially chicken wings in the air fryer as it produces a crispy skin texture without needing any coatings.

Hello all,
146.7 this morning
sodium from delicious Chinese food

Starting to feel normal, normal for me anyway Went to the rail trail with DH and Willlie Dog again, we decided that we'll make it a regular trip since i'm not driving to work anymore, it gets us dressed and out of the house haha and some good exercise.

Hope everyone had a good holiday, ours was low-key but nice. I didn't eat all the things, although I was tempted. I bought these ice cream type bars to try, Solero, coconut cream flavor, they're almost too good, I'll have to see if I can control them, or might not get them again for awhile.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say Hi and sweet dreams.

Diana great news about the mammo!

GrannyNancy it's funny, your reason for not jumping in on the air fryer is the same as mine for not jumping in on the instapot. I often look at those cookie sheets with the basket attached, I think those copper chef or whatever it's called has something like that. I think it would do similar to an air fryer without an extra appliance. If/when mine goes I think that's what I'm going to do. Especially if you have a convection oven.

ok, bedtimes, have a great night everyone

Hi everyone, my food was better today more in line with what I should be eating. DH and I shared a desert. So we just ate the mid-afternoon meal along with our breakfast and that was it for the day. My exercise was Jessica Smith's 15 minute calorie burst and 30 minute fat blaster. I also got my 10,000 steps in. Have a blessed evening.

MERRY CHRISTMAS - DAY 3

Good Morning 138.4 drop but yesterday I still went a bit over my plan (pretzels and popcorn) and wound up at 1357 calories and virtually no exercise (1 walk around the neighborhood) - today needs to be much better. The day is planned at 1142 calories and involves "eating up" food in the fridge in preparation for our vacation trip. Won't be taking the scale with me -- BP still holding though - 112/74 this am.

Today is planned and I will need to get walking done early as MORE rain is on the way

-Breakfast = Sauteed Peppers, onions, musrhoom, potatoes, tofurkey, with a side of leftover heathy sweet potato casserole
-Lunch = greek yogurt, kefir, banana, uncle sam cereail
-Dinner = more bok choy, peppers, mushrooms, cauliflower rice, and a peanut satay sauce

Ciece - hope your test goes well, I have to be screened regularly too for both glaucoma (mom) and macular degeneration (father, his aunts and uncles). I have an enlarged optic disk but normal pressures and FOV so they do some wild tests..... and, of course, cataracts that will have to be managed at some point....and the vitreous detachment. Our eyes don't age so well.

Diana - impressed you are getting the steps on vacation; you are motivating me. Glad your mammogram came back normal; that is always a good feeling.

Kelijpa - Ultimately I may get one of the air fryer things because of what I am reading but right now I need the added fat to meet minimums so sautee in cast iron makes more sense than using a teflon coated appliance. My oven is a convection oven but it takes so long to warm up it is not useful day to day and such a big chamber......When we replaced it (gah appliances do not last anymore - it was only 14) we looked into various options and just replacing with same size double wall oven (overkill) is what we did. We did, at least, get the lower oven with a proofing mode which is good for bread and yogurt but we don't make bread anymore and yogurt is int he IP so LOL..........but I printed off several IP recipes and am going to brave it next week. The yogurt alone makes the IP worth it, though. Rail trails are GREAT because the rail beds had to be graded gently for trains.

Nancy - Yes - bone broth. The IP really does a great job at that! And store bought bone broth is yukky Home made is great.

Good morning to all
No WI here out on the coast LOL but I did get my steps in yesterday despite being in the car for a good portion of the day. Oh and went downstairs to the casino and actually was up $60.00 when I left last night. Our room faces the ocean and has these tall windows from floor to about six feet up so it really makes the room feel super open, the gas fireplace helps too.

Diana so glad the mamogram came out negative.
granny I was watching some youtube on making the yogurt in the IP. I did not know that your culture and cook time are the reason that yogurt could be tangy or not. DH bought some danin yogurt and had me taste a bit, and it was not that sour taste I remember. So I may do a bit more research and if I can make some that is creamy yet not sour/tangy I think I could warm up to it.

more personals later

Good morning all,
147.5 this morning
Forgot to weigh at my usual time so not worried about the bump up.

Weigh in at WW tonight will tell the tale. Which I know the tale is get your butt back on plan and get these 5 pounds off. I did a yearly calendar thing and can see I never really recovered from my trip in October to see family. Time to get serious now that I am almost well.

Making some goals (not resolutions) for 2019. Regular exercise and maintaining at 143-147 at WW are my goals. I need to flesh them out and make SMART goals and a plan.

Ciecie good luck with your test.

GrannyNancy have a great trip. Once again I agree, I probably will end up with another appliance. I saw something that was a combo of all the things, but would have to research before buying.

Diana

Hope everyone has a great day

Nancy - and the straining! It is the whey that adds the bite and the more whey you strain off the less sour it is. We did not buy a fancy gizmo and just use cheesecloth which my husband washes in a net bag in the washing machine. The last yogurt I used as a starter was this https://greenmountaincreamery.com/product/plain/ because I liked the bacterial strains. Also important your starter does have live cultures (they all do NOT) and no gelatin etc added.

Kelijpa - I know that you can get back to it!
