The NEW NEW getting out of the 150's
The last thread exceeded the 500 post limit, so here is the newest one!

Hi everyone! I am still hovering around in 152 land. Looks like everyone is doing pretty well. Even if you don't lose, you are still maintaining and that IS an accomplishment, too! I think of it as giving my body time to catch up on the weight I lost and have a bit of time to recuperate. Also, my calories have been about 100/day more than I had been doing, so it will come off slower.
|
Still at 152. I've been looking at the mybodygallery website for motivation. Big difference at my height, from 152 to 135...
|
Down to 156.2.
|
154.9 today. I'll be excited when I drop below 154, since I haven't been there during this weight loss effort yet. I've been doing a 154-156 dance for a couple of weeks now. I'm craving some novelty. ;)
|
Down to 151.5 this morning. Tiny 0.5 lb change, but the display on the scale looked so different that I had to look at it again and figure out if that number was higher or lower than usual... ;-)
|
2kids - congrats on the .5 loss!
Chunkah - hope you see a new number soon! I saw 151.8 yesterday and 152.0 this morning. I will be so happy to see a 4 in that second number! |
I'm down to 155.8. Slow progress, but reassuringly stable.
|
Still hanging in at 159.5. I flucuate and down a bit, but no losing :o. Will continue to work at it. Thinking I would like to add pilates for the core work.
Keep up the good work everyone, so nice to see the midway weights and those at the low end, you almost got it! |
this morning 159.2 - I have 3 days to get as low as I can! ah, VEGAS! hoping for at the most 157 but I'll take 158. It's been over a year since I was 152 and that's what I want again for now...:D
|
katiam - Thank you for your magic. I finally saw a new number! 153.9 this morning. Barely in that new number, but I'll take it. :D
Syck - Ah, Vegas is so close! :carrot: |
Back to 156.2.
|
scale holding steady...no damage from the glass of beer! doing a long hike today...should move the scale more :crossed:
|
159 this morning. Gonna journal everything this week and hope to see a drop by next Sunday. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
|
159.0...come ON!!! LOL
|
Hi fellow 150'ers! Hope everyone got through the holiday well. We were away at the river and I did pretty good myself except one day I did allow myself more calories than usual. Been hanging around the upper 151's for a few days and I was at 152.6 this morning.
|
153.0 this morning, but it's TTOM. Will be on vacation next week, so I expect to hang around in this thread for at least another month (or two)...
|
154.4 this morning. I think I'll be in the 140s thread in August. I'll see you there, 2kids! :carrot:
Looks like you'll be there soon, Kat! |
Hello 150'ers! I've been bouncing between 154-55 for the past 10 days. I was hoping to see 150 by the end of July but right now 153 itself would make me feel like a rockstar! I probably need to implement some sort of consistent exercise regimen. Before this week, i was walking about 3 miles a day (a portion of my commute to work) but this week 90 degrees and humidity have hit NYC & walking in that weather with the sun beating down on me is not an option!..so i've been taking the subway. Maybe its time to join a gym?
|
Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing great with your plans! I decided to not eat any fruit or grains until I get to the 140's. I was so happy to see a new low on my scale this morning - 150.2!
|
That's awesome, Kat! :carrot:
|
Down to 154.6 today.
|
So I got down to 153 for about 2 whole days and then back up to 154.9 where the scale seems to be stuck. I really don't understand what I'm doing differently from day to day- my diet is pretty boringly consistent =/ But I won't give up..so I joined a gym today! I can't wait to get to the low 150's like some of you!
|
I did it! For 2 days now the scale has read 149! I still expect it to fluctuate up and down because that has been the way my weight usually does. :carrot:
Chunka - Thanks! Slimmer - congrats on the lower weight! MindoverMatter - maybe you should try to vary your menu a little bit. I am always tricking mine. On one day I might eat 1300 calories and then only have 1000 or so the next. I think I have read that your body knows day to day how much food it will have and learns to budget it's energy based on that amount. Waving  hi to everyone else! |
Hey, there! I'd love to join this thread. I've been sitting at my current weight for...well, way too long. Time to get moving!
Today I'm sitting at 157. I'd like to get to the 140s by around the start of October. I'm trying to let myself ease back into this and not rush. So, a little over 7 lbs in a couple months should be very doable, I think. :) katiam: Congrats! OMG, 140s are so exciting! For me they're the top of the 'normal' range. And I hear you about fluctuations - my weight is like a yoyo within 1-3 lbs day-to-day. :dizzy: And wow, you're so close to your mini goal weight of 145! |
Hi Penny, glad to have you! I'm sure you will make your goal by October!
I had floundered around in the 150's since March - way too long. I was letting too many carbs servings (although good ones) sneak back into my daily menu and I was losing but oh so slowly. I was getting so close, I re-committed myself to only eating Phase I South Beach foods until I saw that 4 in the second number! Must have been high school or so since seeing it! I was trying for 145 for my "normal". Just recently I went to the doctor, I asked them to measure my height since it had been a while since anyone did that. They usually just asked and I had told them 5'4" for a long time. I shrunk an inch! Now, my "normal" is 141!!! :dizzy: It's only 4 more lbs. right? Ugh |
Kat - Woohoo! Well done! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:
I'm at 153.2, been here a few days. |
Still sitting at 157 on the nose. I know it'll go down eventually because I'm eating at a definite deficit, but my body likes to retain water. It's mentally difficult, but logically I know a stall for a while or even slow loss is normal and STILL LOSS (yeah, I'm talking to you, brain).
katiam: Oh no! Getting to a normal weight is hard enough without the target moving! But you're right - it's only 4 more lbs, and you're only about 8 lbs away from it! So close! You'll be there in no time. I've thought about that before, too. People naturally shrink a couple inches over the lifetime, and so I assume eventually I'll have to adjust my maintenance weight accordingly. Chunkah: Sitting at a weight is so fun, isn't it? (). But it's a part of weight loss. It'll pass. Hopefully soon we'll be sitting in the 140s anxious to get to the 130s. |
Katiam- thank you so much for the advice on switching up calories. I'm doing LCHF though so I haven't really been counting calories... though I know roughly what I eat just because a lot of is canned fish/chicken and/or eggs- so basically things I can keep a measure of and I kind of keep half an eye on calories but its been carbs that have been my focus. But in any case even my calories can't be that consistent because some days I have little appetite and others I have more of one and with this WOE I just eat when I'm hungry. All I know for sure is I haven't gone over 30 carbs and have mostly maintained under 20 a day. I have diabetes on both my mom and dad's side and am apple shaped most of my extra weight is in the middle and the internet tells me low carb is the way to go or else I'll end up with diabetes too. I just don't know why I plateau'd so early on. Its been 3 weeks and nothing. I keep reading that on low carb sometimes even though you're losing fat it doesn't reflect on the scale because your fat cells are filling up with water and some say just sit and wait for a "whoosh" (sudden weight loss of several lbs) or try and trick your body into a "whoosh" by having a carb cheat day. The cheat day scares me because I don't want to lose the control eating this way has given me but I'm seriously considering. TOM is about a week away so if I lose nothing after TOM's left then I might just try the cheat day.
I can't wait to get to where you are! |
MindoverMatter - My mom had Type 2 diabetes and was recommended 30 carbs per meal! Another thing to keep in mind and I don't think doctors realize this when telling their diabetic patients about limiting carbs, is that fiber is not digestible and should not be added to carb intake. That's why fiber is good for your digestive system. It goes right through you and doesn't affect your blood sugar. How Fiber Helps Control High Blood Sugar
Well, I was right - 150.0 this morning. I relaxed my eating a little this weekend and treated myself. On Friday, when we were traveling to our trailer, I decided I wanted a takeout pizza instead of the salad I usually get. Have not had that in over a year. Also, a local fire department was having a benefit BBQ meal and I ate the oatmeal cookie that came with it. So, I am pretty happy with only 1 lb. :) |
My weight finally decided to move a little. First it went up a pound, then rather than return to good ol' 153, it dropped down into 152 territory. That's a new low for me. Although last year, that was a new high for me. I feel much better now on the way down, when I'm eating well and exercising often, than I did when I was on the way up. :D

After gaining/bloating on vacation, I'm back to where I was - 152.0. The heat is hard on me this week - my tendency is to eat, rather than try to drink water.
|
Katiam- I know 30g carbs per day (& often less) is pretty strict but after the first 2 weeks of eating this way (which were THE WORST btw) I have never felt better. By the 3rd week not only did my energy come back with a bang, but, I also had this sudden control and will power even around my favorite foods ...namely all things sweet and bready. In the past, whenever I was restricting my way of eating, like anyone else living in this world, I would be enticed by smells and seeing things and sitting with family or friends eating the foods I wanted I would have to keep a steely jaw to control myself. Needless to say, it was never anything I could maintain. The past 2 months of this WOE and I'm feeling almost bulletproof in terms of the control I have around/with food now. I simply don't crave things- for the most part anyway- and I'm not even phased by the goodies that are always around. So thats what keeps me at this carb range.
Outside of that ramble, I think I had my whoosh today? I was 154 yesterday and woke up today to 151. My weight has been so up and down that who knows if that 151 will stick or not, but my fingers are crossed and I'm gonna keep on keeping on! Kudos on 150 to you!!! |
Down to 153.0 today.
|
151.9.
The escape is getting closer and closer! :carrot: |
153.4 today Have not moved much in a few days but will stick with the program.
|
Hello! Joining this thread. I started counting calories and doing some exercising a week ago, and this morning I weighed 159.6! I'm thrilled to be out of the 160s. My ultimate goal is 140, but my next mini goal is 155.
|
Welcome, LovesCoffee!
I'm down to 152 today, after some fluctuations this week. |
152.3 today.
I've been dealing with a health issue since mid July which has made losing weight take a backseat to getting healthy again. I'm gonna revise my methods so that I can lose and recover at the same time. There must be a way and I will find it. :D ;) I'm determined to be in the 140s by the end of this month. :carrot: Good luck and well done to all of you! :D |
Sticking at 152; at least that is better than gaining.
