danieh09 - So glad you're having such success with the vitamin D! My mom has had a similar, very positive experience. With regular vitamin D supplements her levels would never increase so she had to take a special once week compound and she's like a totally new person. Yay!

katiam247 - Welcome to the 170s! Sounds like quite a month for you

Weightever - Wow, well done! Looks like it is time for you to move on from this thread

On that note, I'm really hopeful to get out of this thread this week! Or maybe next week. I'm so close! But my weight loss is so unpredictable these days so I won't get my hopes up. Things are going well. Slowly, but well. And that's really all I can ask for.

Still at the same weight I was a week ago. Don't love it, but I'm trying to cut my body some slack. I'm eating at a deficit, I'm taking walks, my period is due to start this week, and I injured (and re-injured, then strained) my shoulder this past week. Most of those things can contribute to water retention. I also had a pretty quick weight loss a couple weeks ago. This is all normal, my body is adjusting. I can't gain fat on a deficit.

Okay, I think I'm done trying to talk myself off the ledge, now.

Raining: Yeah, cravings can be a pain. Giving in doesn't help me, but neither does over-restricting (which I do from a fear reflex sometimes). I'm trying to avoid both.
See, I have trouble finding jeans that fit because, proportionally, my waist is big and my thighs/hips are smaller, but my calves aren't. I usually get jeans in the juniors' section, otherwise in the women's if the waist fits I have huge empty spaces around my hips and thighs.

Katiam247: Congrats on arriving to the 170s!

Danieh: Yep, good old menstruation water retention. So fun.

Love2b150: Thanks! I was so excited that I won a subsection of the halloween challenge! And I got a cute badge!

Zumbalover: Glad you're here to join us on our way down to the 160s!

NNS: Congrats on the halloween challenge!
Wow, you are VERY close to being out of this decade! If you're out before me, save me a seat in the 160s thread!

Yes, I take a once a week pill. I wish I would've read up before hand because i'm currently taking D2 through a doctor, but I've read D3 is the better form to take. It's a high dose of 50,000 iu just to get my levels up.

zumbalover, Hi and welcome. Hope you see the 160's soon!

Hi NNS, Raining, and Penny and thanks

Congrats love2b150, NNS, Penny and leopard for your challenge achievements!

NNS, looks like you will be out of this decade any minute!

danieh09, TOM bloating and water retention will surely drop off quickly.

Penny, my body likes to stay at the same weight longer than I want it to, also. But like you said, you know you are on plan and it's gotta go sometime! Hope your shoulder feels better soon!

Yay love2b150 it may just be water weight but seeing that big drop is always such a good feeling! You are so close to going to the next decade!

I am finding myself struggling a little to get motivated to exercise. I know it's because it is getting so cold out. I got in a good workout last night but then spent the rest of the night reading on the couch and not much of anything else.

Thanks Raining , Pat yourself on the back because at least you spent the rest of the night reading on the couch and not in the pantry/cupboards after a good workout LOL it is a good feeling to see that drop. You are close to the next decade also. Hope we move over soon

Anyone have advice for how to get weight loss moving again? I've seriously been at 173.x for 10 days. I counted. I'm back on the ledge! (Not of giving up, but of being frustrated and ready to try something).

Some info. I track EVERYTHING I eat (I measure it all). I eat around 1400 calories (which is definitely below my maintenance calories).
I walk 2 miles about 3x a week (I do not factor this into calories - it's too insignificant and I do it for health, not weight loss).
I haven't had takeout or anything extra salty. I haven't snuck bites, tastes, or licks of anything in weeks.
I drink plenty of water (3-4 liters a day, usually).
I get plenty of sleep (7-8 hrs every night).

Any insights?

Penny, I personally don't think 10 days is long enough to make any changes. I say wait 4-6 weeks, which I know can be frustrating if you're used to losing regularly, but if you start playing around with things too soon and too frequently, you can really stress your body out!

The only thing I might suggest you do is make sure you're actually hitting those 1400 calories. Are you actually weighing/measuring everything or just eyeballing? If you really are hitting 1400 calories and not above then I'd really advise to just give it time. Sorry

The good news is I'll probably still be trying to get out of the 170s by the time your weight loss starts moving again :P

Penny, I'd say try calorie cycling. It has worked for me in the past though the calories on most days were hard for me to meet. Some where to low and others too high but it did get the scale moving. Google it. Hope your scale moves soon.

I dropped another pound this morning. I'm happy with myself. A co-worker bought me a sausage biscuit from Bojangles. I love love love their biscuits but I didn't eat it. I ate the sausage and wrapped the biscuit for one of the kids to eat
