Penny, temptation is a beast. I ate 4 the first day and 5 yesterday. I was up 1.7 yesterday because I ate them before bed and then today I was down .3. I was surprised because yesterday was stuff your face day but I also got 8 hours of sleep and drank 7 bottles of water. So I guess I did a little something right

danieh scales, smh. Sometimes I think the analog ones were better but I do like all of the extra's I get with my digital scale ... for you tomorrow for a great weigh in
  • I don't have a digital scale, it's an ancient beast but it's accurate. For me, I think I am better off not seeing the fluctuations and just the whole numbers, but that's just me, weird I know!

There is no way I would want those donuts around my house either, I would have given them away too, although it would have been hard! I so love Any baked goods. I haven't had a baked treat since July (besides bread), although I will indulge a little on Thanksgiving.
  • Raining, I stepped on my Mom's scale when I was there and I thought it was going to break. I don't know how long she has had that scale. But it was definitely accurate . Yeah I think the doughnuts were just what I needed because now I'm done. I hadn't had anything baked in a while (I think). Nope I had my sons birthday cake. You get my for no baked goods since July. That is a great victory to me. GO YOU
  • Thanks Rennie! They definately are a weak point for me as I easily over do it!
  • Yeah, just as I did Raining, which led me to eat a bunch of other mess yesterday, smh. So back to the drawing board today
  • Weighed in at 178.8 this morning. I didn't eat anything bad or overeat, so I have zero idea what's happened. I'm just going to assume the scale was wrong when I was down to 174 and go from where i'm at now! Not going to let it get me down, I can definitely tell i'm not nearly as bloated as I was before. The physical difference means more than the number anyway!
  • Hi Penny, leopard, love2b, NNS, danieh, and Raining. On my iPhone atm trying to catch up here at the campgrounds. Sounds like you are all plugging along and doing good. I have been pretty good with my food. Already went to the Chinese buffet we liked Tuesday when we got here. There wasn't any time for lunch, so I think it will even out. Had eggs and turkey bacon for brunch and then fixed spaghetti with whole wheat noodles with a salad for dinner. Not sure what today will bring. Our next door neighbors are down this week at their condo and want to meet them when we go to the seafood buffet. We need to call and see when they would like to go. I have been able to take a 30 minute walk with DH and puppydog the last 2 nights and didn't sprain anything!! I think losing 45 lbs has taken the strain off of my ankles and I can walk longer distances now. So happy!! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
  • Yesterday was some pretty strong cravings. Again, for nothing specific. Got through the discomfort and am hoping for an easier day today. And with a nice reward today of weighing in at 170.2 (). Doubt it'll stick for more than one day with my current trends, but it's nice to see!

On the other hand, I've been eating out like once a week for work (which I don't love, but oh well), and I've been ordering healthier, small options each time, despite the large lunches my coworkers get. It helps as practice for going out with friends and ordering something I'll like but that is on plan. I need the practice.

Danieh: I'm not too jealous, I'm just the right amount of jealous when someone has a whoosh.
As for the double weighing, I've discovered that for me it does nothing but make me frustrated. Unless you move your scale each morning (like I do, tiny bathroom), you probably only need to weigh once.
If you've done everything right, it's probably just a weird fluctuation (which I hate, but are apparently normal). Frustrating, but ultimately will go away.

Love2b: I think sleeping and drinking well are very important for weight loss (and overall health). I'm sure that helped a lot!

Raining: baked goods are one of my downfalls, too. The sugar/carb/fat combo really gets me. Although it's a bit weird, because when I'm eating well I don't love a ton of sweet. I'm like you that it's better off not in my home, or at least where I can't see them and can forget them.

Katiam: I'm glad your trip is going so well!
I agree with you that losing weight makes it easier to move/exercise, or even just stand and sit! Think how awesome it'll be when at goal.
Have an awesome rest of your vacation!
  • Kat, so glad to hear your trip is going so well! Yay for your walks. I am sure losing the weight has helped and just being overall healthier! Enjoy that seafood!

Penny, you are so close to the next decade! Sounds like a good plan for eating out. It's a little overwhelming to think long term, after reaching goal, but all the little things that are learned and implemented along the way will make maintenance easier! Keep it up, you are doing great!

Hope you are doing well today love2b150
  • danieh, you're right the physical difference is better Keep doing what you're doing

Kat, glad you're enjoying yourself. I remember when I couldn't walk from my basement to my top floor, or walk for 20 minutes around a track so getting some of the weight off definitely makes a difference in our activities. Enjoy your walks

Penny, nice weigh in, GO YOU Yeah I agree with the sleeping/rest and water. Yesterday I ate totally on plan, but didn't get all of my water in and only got 5 hours of sleep and was up .2 this morning. If I could have stayed in bed a little longer I would have had a nice weigh in I'm sure

Thanks Raining, yes I am, now that I'm home Hope you are also

    weight 171.6
  • I saw 169.6 today on the scale! I'm not calling it just yet, though. Still, even if it's gone tomorrow, it was nice to see it! It means I'm moving down!

Raining: I agree that it's important to develop good habits while we're losing. Not that we'll always stick to exactly what we're doing, but we know how to lose weight. But just as critical (more critical?) we need to figure out what works for us to keep it off. For me, I'm betting it'll be basically the same as losing (but with a few more calories, maybe).

    Love2b: Thanks!
You know, I've discovered that if I weigh at 5am or 10am, there's not much difference for me in the morning. It's actually kind of nice (mostly).
Excellent work eating totally on plan yesterday! But sorry to hear about the 5 hours of sleep - not fun.
