I'm at 158.4 today. I think I'll (tentatively) call it. I'm heading on over to the 150s thread!

Yay penny!! :carrot: congrats!
|
Thanks, midnight! And congrats on being in the 160s! :congrat::yay:
Thank you, HIheart! Looks like you'll be joining me in the 150s pretty soon! |
Congrats Penny :dancer:
This month has been so busy, I don't even remember if I ever posted in this thread when I hit the 160s. Anyways, I am looking forward to getting through the next couple weeks and getting back to a regular routine! Happy Holidays to everyone:wave: |
:Waving:
Hello, please can I tiptoe in? I've just hit 169.8 this morning - was 238 on June 1st, so I'm Very Happy to be here. Hope everyone has a great Christmas season :carrot: |
Congrats Penny! I'm hoping to join you in February.
Raining - I hear ya! We finally got home yesterday and I'm sooo tired of junk food and salt overload. I enjoyed simple scrambled eggs and fruit for breakfast this morning. Rosinante - Welcome and congratulations! You've made phenomenal progress! I gained 4lbs on my cruise and am back up to 168.8. It sucks, but I'm already back on the bandwagon. I went grocery shopping and only bought healthy stuff and I worked out today. I'm hoping it comes off quickly. |
I am just curious on how everyone chose their final goal for weight loss. I chose mine (140) based on my lowest weight (which was a long time ago) and BMI. I still am 24 lbs away from that but my body has changed so much that I am not sure where all 24 lbs will come from. My tummy still needs some work and a little bit off the rest of my body but not sure I can lose all that without being too thin. I am thinking I might need to aim for 145 instead.
|
Raining - I chose my goal weight of 140 because I know its attainable and maintainable for me. I remember being in the 130's when I was a teen (and thinking I was the fattest thing that walked the planet, *sigh*). 140 is at the top end of a healthy BMI (24.0) for me. I might adjust it once I reach goal, but I think what I'll end up doing is trying to maintain the high 130's so I don't go over 140.
If you are unsure about being too thin, ask your doctor and they will be able to guide you. We would have a better idea if we know your bmi. What is your height? |
I am 5'6" so 140 is pretty much in the mid range of a normal BMi and 145 on the higher end.
I will probably just hold out to make a final decision once I get into that range. I still need to get to lifting weights a little and working on toning which will come into play too. I was just curious on where everyone was at as the 160s are getting somewhat close to goal for lots of people. |
I haven't been on 3fc in a while, but I need to. Just pitched the rest of the Christmas cookies. Back on the wagon.
Raining - I chose a goal of 135 for no special reason. It is smack in the middle of the BMI range for my height, and I was trying to be realistic and not call myself "big boned." Most of us that thought we are aren't, really. But I'm not petite or fine boned, either, so 135 it is. Also, I look at myself at 165 and I clearly have a lot of work to do. Refining the goal can happen once I'm within the healthy range. So the scale is veeeerrrryyy slowly creeping down now that I have loosened up calorie counting around the holidays. I've lost a pound every 2 or 3 weeks. Of course that is better than gaining, but my New Years Resolution is to go back to being strict. It works. I can't stop yet. |
Whew! I finally made it!!!! 169.8 yesterday, 169.4 today! Have to watch my grain/starch intake. Definitely slows me down, losing-wise. I am so excited to finally post in this thread and also as a plus, I am no longer OBESE!!
|
Yay Katiam! I'm so proud of you! Losing weight in Dec is freaking tough! Congrats on no longer being obese and joining us in the 160's! Woot!!!!
Raining - Either goal is a good, healthy one. Jemini is right that goals should be re-evalutated once a healthy weight is reached. I plan on the same thing. Jemini - Welcome back. Good job pitching the treats. My mom was very offended that I didn't want to bring ANYTHING home, but its been for the better. I plan on being super strict after tonight too. |
Saw 165 today. This decade is going much faster than the 170's, have been snacking less as well, though I still have a Quest bar so I can make my protein and Fiber count for the day.
|
Thanks, leopard! It was a struggle, compared to the prior decades, but I am glad I had a loss instead of gaining during the holidays. Looks like you have been doing great yourself and were even able to enjoy your vacation!
Hi Raining, Rosinante, jeminijad, and Starza! Raining, I chose my goal weight because I used to weigh 150 for years (2 decades ago), used to jog and eat basically what I wanted and felt healthy. Now, jogging is out because of joint problems, which makes eating healthy a priority for weight loss and 145 is the top of the BMI healthy range. |
