leopard - wish my rollercoaster would take lessons from yours! You're on your way to the 150's soon!
Rosinante - that's great you broke your mini-rollercoaster ride! Plainsgirl - good job on keeping on plan! That's the secret of weight loss, I believe. Just keep at it! love2b - HI! Glad to see you here with us! wolfchan - great job resisting all those desserts! I know how hard it is to refuse something just once, but you did it all day long! rachelinala - I haven't seen the 150's in a couple of decades. So, exciting to be so much closer, isn't it! Yesterday, the rollercoaster got to 169.6. Going to skip weighing this morning because I know I had too much salt last night. My rings are not as loose. Looks like a couple of days of salad for dinner for me. |
167.4 this morning. I'm trying a spin class tomorrow for the first time! I'm still so excited I think I am out of the 170s for good.
|
So funny! I started this thread a while back and now I'm back in it...........
Weighed in at 170.2 this morning but am promising myself it won't go higher than that. Frustrated but super motivated!!! |
166.2 this morning! DBF took me out for steaks last night, and I had a big steak and a side salad....skipped the beer, garlic bread and potato skins I usually get at this steakhouse. To my surprise, I was satisfied and didn't miss any of those things!

After 9 days of being faithful logging in on MFP my body is letting go of some of the "bloat" that ive had for months. I was down to 162.0 yesterday and 161.8 today. Relearning how to eat has always been a struggle for me with the exercise part of it being the thing that I gravitate to the easiest.
This morning I attended a "Super Saturday" event at the Y...they have all of the Les Mills classes and offered 4+ hours with a donation to Second Chance Pets... I did 3 hours!!! Body Pump, CXWorks, with an hour break and back for Body Flow. My body is sore...but a good sore. At the end of Body Flow...which is the version of Yoga..when we were laying on our backs, lights out, soft music playing, tears started rolling softly down my cheeks. It caught me off guard and was secretly thankful that the lights were out. I came to the conclusion that I was feeling so powerful and strong at that moment. I busted my a** 5-6 years ago to lose 75 pounds and have gained 35 of it back. But this last week I have turned the tide and found ME again. I got my "drive" back and I am so grateful for that. I wont be perfect and fully expect the roller coaster to continue. I have a late Christmas party with my Funeral Director friend with a big fancy dinner and an open bar for peats sake! But...I planned for it...worked my butt of this morning..and all will be good. Its good when you find your mojo ladies!!! Heres to everyone finding their Mojo this weekend!! :cp: |
rachelinala - Hope you have fun in your spin class.
muguet - Not bad at all. I see it was Oct 2014 when you started the thread and you did not stray far. Welcome back! wolfchan - That took willpower to avoid the dishes you usually get at the steakhouse. Way to go! Plainsgirl - Good for you finding your mojo! It really is a frame of mind when you decide to take charge of your health. It is so hard to describe to others not there, yet. The word "willpower" just does not describe it. Sounds like an intense workout and you did great getting through it! As for me, weight in was 167.2. The salad "flush" worked! :carrot: |

165.4!
I had a bit of a "veggie flush" yesterday - roasted beet, tons of sugar snap peas....I was so full. |
Last night for dinner I had a salad with lots of lettuce and slice of provolone, salami and ham, with some olives and onions topped with Italian dressing. Skipped having any bread or starchy stuff. Tonight I think I will have a Chicken Caesar Salad.

wolfchan, what a great NSV, not eating anything on that cart, GO YOU :high: ... glad you didn't cry (that's how I've felt the last two days). I want to eat everything in site and the smells are making me  You are a book of NSV's Way to GO :carrot: Did you roast the beets yourself? how did you prepare the snap peas? How much did you eat? Thanks
Rachel that's my short term goal also to get under 165, we can do this :) Great scale movement there, GO YOU :high: I tried spin class once ... it tore my tail up (literally) ;) Hope you enjoy it :) Thanks Kat :) Salad flush??? the salads for dinner? What did you put in them or did you eat salads all day (sorry) :?: I may need to do that :) (copy Kat, I am) :D muguet, what Kat said ... and so now you know how to maintain :) You'll make goal on this part of the journey :crossed: ... hopefully we all will :) Plainsgirl, I love your post! So inspiring  glad you got your mojo back :) I was at 170.1 yesterday and today I'm at 168.9. Sleep and staying on plan helped a lot :) |
Back after a week of struggling to stay on plan. Scale hasn't moved, just fluctuated between 164 and 165 and back all week, because I do stupid stuff like eat an extra chocolate chip cookie.
From 195 to 175 was easy. Actually easy. I aimed for 1500 but could lose even if I went over a bit. Now my BMR has come down... losing 30lbs is of course great, but the 150 calorie difference in BMR takes me from a comfortable way of eating to one that takes more planning and discipline. Maintenance is 1700 calories, so aiming for 1300-1400 is already a slow loss. Going over twice in a week blows the week. But this isn't a calorie counting thread, so I'll shut up. |
A large salad for dinner usually helps move the scale for me. Tonight was lots of lettuce, grilled chicken breast, light ranch, parmesan cheese, fresh spinach in a bowl. During the day, I eat mostly protein, a little dairy, and some fruit. Fresh strawberries dipped in light whipped topping is my all time fave! Breakfast is usually half a piece of whole wheat toast with turkey bacon and eggs, or a South Beach Cinnamon Muffin (grain free), or occasionally oatmeal. I drink a low sodium V8 to get a veggie serving in, too. Normal dinner is some sort of lean meat, salad and beans (lots of protein and fiber) if we don't have something like chili, homemade pizza or tacos.

jemini, thanks for the information ... I count calories regardless of my eating plan so don't shut up, do share, thanks :) Which site did you use to find your BMI?
Thanks for the info Kat :) |
You're welcome love2b and good job staying on plan!
jemini, there is no right or wrong talking about your healthy eating plan. We are all here to support each other and that's what counts! Grats, wolfchan, on your "veggie-flush"! miguet, keep up the good work! |
love2b150 I did roast the beet myself. I recently learned that I LOVE roasted beets and I treat myself to one as often as I remember to do so. As for the snap peas, I ate them raw and I ate until I was stuffed silly....3 cups? Maybe more?
