Katiam - YAY for no longer obese! Such an ugly word, and it is a weight off once you leave that range.

164.0 on the scale this morning. If I am still there tomorrow, I'll adjust my stats down 1lb.

A year ago, when I slipped out of the obese range, I had planned to be "done" by now - meaning at goal. I've only lost 20lbs during 2015. Logically, I know that means I have by definition NOT yo-yoed, and maybe this means it will be easier to keep off? Because I've been eating well for an entire year, just not quite strictly enough to see rapid progress. We'll see.

Thanks for the HIs!

I temporarily went to visit the 170s over Christmas - Christmas Day 169.8, 4 days later 173.4 - but today (fanfare) 169.3!! Very glad to be back here.

In answer to the "why that goal weight?" question for me, My aim was to lose 100lbs; this will take me to just into "normal", plus hey, it's 100lbs, a nice round sum. My plan is to maintain for a couple of months, then go for another 10-20 off.

Plainsgirl 01-02-2016 09:17 AM

I have been MIA on here for so long its no wonder that my weight is 30+ pounds up from my goal weight :( I have been trying to talk myself into jumping back in with both feet for several weeks and so very much didn't want it to be a "New Years Resolution" thing...but here I am, LOL.
I NEED to be HEALTY again and when I commit to HEALTY the scale follows.
Yesterday I was 163.8....today 165.2. This is significant to me because I have a history of sticking my head in the proverbial sand when the scale goes higher than the day before..."if I don't record it-it didn't happen". GREAT philosophy, no??? Its worked so well I have gone from "needing to lose 10" to 35.2 pounds.
Here's to chipping away at the re-gain! Looking forward getting to know you ladies and working our way down the "Decade threads"!!!

katiam247 01-02-2016 11:12 PM

Welcome to the thread, Plainsgirl. Hope to see you moving through the decades with us.

jeminijad 01-03-2016 09:18 AM

Plainsgirl, welcome back. Your Profile stats still reflect 127 lbs, so you have done it before and can do it again!

164 for me for the third day in a row, so I updated. I never "count" the new low weight the first day it appears on the scale. And last night, we went out to dinner and got Indian food - goat biryani, lamb tikka, veggie pakora = hit 2000 calories, against a goal of 1400. Ah well. Do better today!

Plainsgirl 01-03-2016 11:22 AM

Thanks katiam247...I have tried a few times to change the current weight with no luck so far...although looking at where I WAS certainly helps with the motivation to get there again...

jeminijad....I have always wanted to try Indian food but have never had the opportunity...yet!...lol...I imagine any weight gain that you have would be sodium bloat and to me that would be more than worth it....

This morning I am a full 2 pounds down...to 163.2...but knowing that all I had was "on plan" food and drin k it is to be expected after day 1. Its the next day..and the days to follow that really play with my head. As long as I don't throw in the proverbial towel after seeing a gain when I swear there should be a loss....I will call it a win...

I really do need to see 159.## for my sanity though. Its been since before June that the scale has been that low. Funny....my "red line" used to be 140....sigh...

lizzief 01-03-2016 06:35 PM

Hi

Im new and wanted to introduce myself to the 160 decades :) Im Lizzie and im aiming to lose nearly 20 pounds :/

So for the diet is going well (but iv only been doing it for 4 days) Not yet had the need to cry over a chocolate brownie yet but theres time!

You all seem to be doing so well! im not sure i can help any of you except to say "keep it up" from time to time but i have good feelings about 2016 :)

So 'Keep it up' guys and hope to hear how well ur all doing later on :)

lizzie xx

katiam247 01-03-2016 07:30 PM

Plainsgirl - congrats on your 2 lb loss. Don't be discouraged by any fluctuations in your weight. I keep my weight record on MFP and it looks like a dang roller coaster along the way. If your weight does go up, become more determined to stay on plan through the gain and it WILL come back down. Trust me!

Hi lizzie! Glad you can join us. We all need cheerleaders along the way! Good luck and keep AWAY from that brownie!

Plainsgirl 01-04-2016 09:13 AM

And...the roller coaster revs its engine...lol... Today I clocked in at 163.4 A whole .2+ Considering I worked the evening shift and we were pretty slow (registration in a Rural Hospital) and sat for the better part of 8 hours I will consider it a win Lol. I think that is one of my biggest hurdles to overcome- nibbling just to pass the time. I did have one 8oz cup of caramel corn about 7 to combat the boredom but made myself stop there. Oh..and no exercise either...The Y doesn't open until Noon on Sundays and I had to be at work at 2.

Lizzief Welcome!! We are all on here I believe so we can get a "pat on the back" from time to time from peeps that know JUST what we are going through. Your goal is totally doable...YOUVE GOT THIS!!!

Katiam Thanks for the reminder...the daily roller coaster ride is the one thing that always has stopped my momentum in the last 3 years to stop this slow weight gain train... I've been on MFP on and off for the last few years and it works great. When I actually step on the scale AND record what it says IRREGARDLES of the number. The number only shows the outcome of my efforts. I need to remember this....

Have a great day ladies!! Off to work. First day back for all the office peeps and its going to be a busy one..

Raining 01-04-2016 11:43 AM

Hi to everyone

I am so excited and ready to refocus and get past the holidays. Although I did well and didn't gain anything, I didn't stick to plan as much as I should have, need to get exercising again too.

I am so happy to see so many people on this thread! :cheer2:

katiam247 01-04-2016 01:08 PM

jeminijad - how did your calories go yesterday? Hope you were able to stay within your goal. :)

Hi Raining  good job not gaining during the holidays! With so many temptations around that time of year, you did very well!

Plainsgirl - I know how discouraging it is to have your weight go up or even just stall, but it does help to log your meals daily and review how you have been eating. Lots of times, mine is due to too much salt from eating out (which I do 3-4 times a week) or having too many grain/starch servings/day (I do better when I limit it to 1-2 for weight loss).

Hi to lizzie, Rosinante, Starza, midnight, and leopard! Hope you all are doing great!

I do like to cook at home and make my own pizza with whole wheat crust (finally using that breadmaker, again) and I like to make my own tacos because I can buy whole wheat tortillas. I usually load 1 up like a tostada after I have baked the tortilla until it is a little crispy and I like to make my own taco seasoning with no preservatives and no salt. But, DH and I like to eat out. So, I have found when eating out there are ways to keep to my eating plan and I have favorites that I order. Texas Roadhouse is a steakhouse and I can order the steak with no seasonings to limit salt and no butter dredging. I, also, order a sweet potato with only butter and cinnamon, then I eat 1/2 of an 8oz steak and half the sweet potato and carry the leftovers home for lunch the next day. I munch on a few peanuts, if I have not had any nuts during the day before the meal comes and bypass the bread. Panera Bread posts their nutrition on their app and I can play around with the menu items, taking off and adding on things that reduce the salt and calories and using a multigrain bread like their flatbread. Mexican restaurants, I get the chicken taco salad and only eat a couple of bites off the shell, and limit the tortillas with salsa to about 10 chips. I, also, like their Tilapia and Shrimp and get refried beans or whole pinto beans instead of rice, then only eat about half and I flick the white potatoes in the mixed veggies to DH's plate. Olive garden, I will order the whole wheat linguini with the meat sauce and you can get their salad with a "light" dressing and no croutons. I, also, bypass the bread and have more salad. Red Robin offers their burgers bunless wrapped in lettuce. I will have that and their Freckled Fruit. I prefer burgers with minimal items, like ketchup, mustard, onions and pickles. Other places, I like to order their chef's salad with Italian dressing and no croutons.

This morning's weigh-in was 168.4. Glad to see the scale finally cooperating. :^:

Starza 01-04-2016 02:43 PM

I just saw 161.5 on the scale a few days ago before the monthly hit me today. So it'll be a while before I get back on the scale. But still hoping to see 150's before the end of the month.

wolfchan 01-04-2016 03:18 PM

Hopping over from the 170s thread, as I weighed in at 168.6 this morning! This represents a lot of water weight lost, as I've devoured all of my daily AND weekly Weight Watchers points this week and have still seen a loss of over 5lbs. Hopefully it won't fluctuate back up over the next few days, I'd like to stick around here awhile!

katiam247 01-05-2016 07:20 AM

Starza - hope you get a nice surprise next time you weigh in and see a 5 in the second number!

wolfchan - welcome to the 160's!

Weighed in at 168.2 this morning! That's 4 days with NO roller coaster! :carrot:

leopardspots 01-05-2016 07:58 AM

Lizzie and plainsgirl, welcome!

Katiam - Thats great that your weight has stabilized in the 160's!

Starza - Great job! I'm sure you're gonna be moving on to the 150s in no time! Jealous!

wolfchan - I hope your huge loss sticks. I know alot of people do WW experience big losses right away and through the program. I've never done it, but it seems like a great program and you are already getting results.

Raining - Thats really impressive that you didn't gain over the holidays. No small feat. You should be very proud of yourself.

Today I hit 164.2 so I'm over halfway through the 160s. I absolutly think its possible to be in the 150s for February so I'm pumped about my diet and exercise. I think alot of you ladies will be going with me!
