Hey, J-ann! Good to see you! I know that feeling very well, not feeling like posting, but never missing a single one! We're always here when you need us! Take care.

Baylee, must be salmon night! I will have to try bok choy one day. I look at it in the store and haven't a clue what to do with it...now I know!

Lucky, I'm headed for 82! Of course that massive BMI didn't help, neither did the cardiac history...oh well, I'm working on the fat, so it should improve. Of course, 82 is a nice old age...I wouldn't mind going further if I had all my faculties...
highly doubtful!

Mary...I hope you've got your feet up and your hubby waiting on you! I got the address, thanks, will start getting some books together.

Hi to everyone else, I'm off to beddy bye for work at 11....

See you tomorrow!

Hey guys....popping in here real quick before bed. I'm kinda tired today and think I will hit the sheets early.

I did my 3 mile WATP again today! I really enjoy it. It's a little rough starting out, but by the time that 2nd mile is gone....that last mile is gravy! By that point, you feel so good, you just keep on keeping on!

I have one more day under my belt at work and then I should be off the next two days. (thank God) I promise you, I am going to sit like a slug and not move the first day I think.
Yeah, right. I've been working so many days, my house is a wreck. It will take the entire two days to catch up!

I'm off here for now....going to light a fire under my youngest to get his homework done. I've only been telling him to do it since 4:00!

Just had to say to J-ann: Just remember, we are still here for you and I'm glad you're still here with us, no matter in what capacity. Please remember we love you and all of us have been where you are. Keep on keeping on and know that you are amongst friends.

And Michelle: Where the crap are you?! Get your butt in here!

Love you all....

P.S. Lucky: I went to the website in your last post and this ol' girl is supposed to live to a ripe old age of 88! Let's hope!

Hi everybody! I don't have but a minute to post. As I told you all last week, this week I'm so jammed with work, I don't know which way is up. Today I did 3 grocery stores, 5 gas stations, WW meeting, 1 discount store, and my exit interviews at Lowe's. Gathering all the info isn't bad, but now I have all the paperwork to do.

My WI (not Wisconsin) was less than stellar! I maintained. I'm really kinda ticked about it because I actually journalled for 5 days out of 7 last week and hadn't done that in a very long time. The problem as I see it is that I didn't get all my veggie servings in every day and I learned ages ago that that is a real key for me. Soooooo, I'm going to do better this week. Starting tomorrow, because today I threw myself a BIG pity party!!!

As some of you know, I used to post regularly in the WW area of this website and way back when there was some discussion about the Wendie Plan. It is an augmented WW plan where you play up and down with your points. Anyway, I got an e-mail from one of my old friends from that thread saying that the February 11th issue of the Woman's World magazine had a write up on it. Well, it sure does. The title is "The unauthorized Weight Watchers plan* that blasts off stubborn fat other diets can't! *Psst! You'll never hear about it at 'official' meetings". This girl that contacted me has done really well with it so if you're interested you can take a look see.

To all of you sharing recipes, thank you. They all look great. Here's the recipe I used for a really good tasting meatloaf I made the other night.

Meatloaf

1 lb. lean ground beef
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup diced onions
1/2 cup ketchup
water
1/4 cup egg substitue

Put the 1/2 cup of ketchup in a measuring up and then add water to make it 1 full cup. Then, in a large bowl, mix thoroughly all ingredients. Pour into loaf pan sprayed with Pam.

Note: I used ground beef that was 240 calories and 17g fat per 4 oz. We are big portion eaters here so I cut the whole loaf into just 4 servings. It worked out to 7 WW points per serving.

I really do have to run. Hope all of you have a great evening.

Thanks for all the advice about tanning. I may have to only go for 3 minutes at a time. I burn really easily so if I see that after the first time at only 3 minutes I burned, I may to heck with it. I have had some horrible sunpoisoning and will not get burned like that again!

Lady: Glad you are feeling better.

Sara: Boy, for missing my workout by fighting with me I may have "worked on Jack!" lol Hope everything is smootchy pie again. Jack and I rarely fight, but honnnneeeee when we do it is ugly and usually about his scary method of driving.

Baylee: So what you are telling us is that it was really Sweet and Sour Salmon with Bok Choy without rice vinegar, sugar or tomato juice! I kept reading and reading and you kept changing and changing and I just got tickled.

J-Ann: We are always here for you anytime you need us!

Queen: Just wanted to include you in posting! Great going with the exercise by the way

Thin: I have used instant mashed potatoes in that very same recipe instead of oatmeal. The oatmeal would give you nice fiber and not as many calories though!

Mary: Get a good rest tonight so you can be raring to go tomorrow!

Kat: You have a good evening!

OK drum roll please! I have broken through and can now weigh myself on my scale! I am down by about 40 lbs! Yippee for me. I am not a big scale fan though, so I doubt I weigh very often. Scales can be too fickle to get upset over. My caved in waistline and droopy fat roll is good enough proof that I am losing. Sure hope my insurance will cover plastic surgery, cause I am gonna need it for sure!

You all sleep well!

Yesterday I had a Daisy meeting (1st step in girlscouts) Im the leader for my daughters troop and well it was 3:45 and I was just so hungry when it was snack time for them I had to eat couple handfuls of those Fish Crackers.....but I did rip the side off and bring home the label so I could figure it in, and you know what??? Those little bugers cost me 4 pts....rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr next time I will plan better and have a snack before I get there. Or maybe the girls would like to have carrots and celery for snack. were talking 5 year olds.....but worth a try.

Hugs to you all. Till later today, got so much house work to do and its my day of work, kids at school and hubby at work, so good time to do it....

Sandy: it is never to late to start good habits. Why not give the girls fruit? I have a dh the same way. I made this great tasting boxed corn bread using fat free or low fat products and asked him to try a piece. He automatically rejected it knowing I probably tried something and you could not tell the difference. I just don't tell him. Maybe you should use the crumbles in the sauce instead. Hubby doesn't figure that one out I guarantee!

Tip of the day: this kind of goes with what Sandy was talking about. Help your family to better health in ways they don't realize!

Gotta go Donna

I woke up this morning planning to head to Missouri to see my parents but my dog is sick. I am taking him to the vet as soon as they open.

Sandy... I too was a girl scout leader. I had it for 5-6 years. I was a darn good one too. I spent MANY many hours planning and preparing wonderful meetings. I was Brownies and juniors leader.

okay .. got to get my baby to vet.

Good morning everyone! How are you today?

Well, I'm gonna bite the bullet......I'm going to WI (not Wisconsin) today. The coward in me wants to just skip it and go next week when I'm sure to have a loss, but I think it's better to account for my actions and let the chips fall where they may. As long as they don't end up in my fat little fingers!

I have been going to WI on Monday nights, but it is so hard. I live clear on the other end of town. Unfortunately, they took our WW center away several years ago, so we meet at a local church. At the time it was closed, attendance was to a bare minimum, but as many as there are now.....we definitely need a place of our own! Meetings are held now on Monday nights at 5:30 and Tuesdays at 10:00am, 12:00 noon and 6:00pm. Our mid shift co-worker is coming in early today, so I can leave and go to the noon meeting. That way, I don't have to go all the way home and be tempted to not drive all the way into town.

Keep your fingers crossed for me that the damage will not be too bad. Of course, no matter what the scale says, it couldn't be any worse than the way I beat my myself up about it. However......I am over that now and am moving on!

Ok, now you're gonna have to bear with me on this. I know that you all do not share my love for Nascar......one driver in particular, however, I read this article this morning and thought it was really neat. Of course, this is only one of many articles like this, but I thought I would share. If you do not want to read it, you do not have to.

Tony Stewart Makes McMullen's Day

NASCAR star Tony Stewart and several drivers from Canada's CASCAR series put a huge smile on the face of quadriplegic Robbie McMullen of Etobicoke, Ontario recently. The drivers were at the 401 Mini Indy (Hwy 401 at 427) for an evening of go-kart racing and to show their support for nineteen-year-old McMullen who was paralyzed last July after a racing accident.

Stewart, one of several NASCAR drivers set to compete against CASCAR's best in this weekend's Canada Day Shootout at Cayuga Speedway, showed he's quick in anything with a steering wheel and a gas pedal. Following a series of qualifying sessions, the field was narrowed down to ten drivers and Stewart was ranked number one. He was looking forward to pole position for a twenty-lap showdown, but the Home Depot driver wasn't going to get away so easily as the grid was inverted, putting him dead last for the start of the race.

Stewart had nine tough CASCAR drivers ahead of him, each gunning for cash prizes donated by Blue Streak Hygrade Motor Products and itching to brag that they beat Tony Stewart. When the checkered flag waved, only Al Turner was ahead of Stewart and, had the race been a little longer, that may not have been the case.

McMullen and the CASCAR drivers seemed quite taken with Stewart's personable and friendly nature as they sat wide-eyed listening to humorous tales of racing in the big leagues. Despite a hectic schedule that had him up early this morning, Stewart was in no hurry to leave, staying well past 1:00 am. Before saying goodbye, he autographed his second-place trophy and handed it to McMullen along with his prize money. He may be one of the toughest customers on the NASCAR circuit, but yesterday night Stewart showed he's all heart.

That's just one of the reasons I love him!!

Have a great day guys and remember......

It's only 12 days till DaytonA!!

Talking Starting again...

Well...I did it...joined WW again. They just opened a new center close by, so my sister and I plunked down our 12 bucks and signed up...for the last time ever! The scale read about a lb or two higher than mine, but everyone there was complaining that the scales were off...(WHEW!) The leader agreed, but said it was because they were brand new scales. Whatever, that is the weight that I will use from now on. I summoned up the courage to post my weight and my progress under my signature, figuring that the daily reminder will help to keep me on the straight and narrow! Hey, every little bit helps!

So, I'm feeling real good about that!

It was good to be back at a meeting. I certainly know just about all there is to know about counting points, but the interaction at the meetings is very helpful...lots of good ideas being flung around...like this one:

Take an Oreo cookie ice cream cone (only one point). Fill it with 2 Tbsp Cool Whip Free or Lite (both 0 points) and freeze. Cool Whip Extra Creamy, is only 1 point! So for a point or two, you have something sweet and yummy!

THESE are the kind of things I need when I'm PMSing

I have a few phone calls to make then I have to get some winkies. Not sure yet if I have to work tonight...AND I have to return a call to my mother...WHO ACTUALLY CALLED ME!!

I'll be back later...but first...here's my tip...

We are the hero of our own story. ~Mary McCarthy

That's more of a Motivational Monday thing, but what the heck?

Tina: Don't go freaky on me, but I think Tony Stewart is the guy my husband says is the nephew of a lady he worked with in Indiana. I am not a Nascar fan, but then I am not a fan of anything! I like baseball, but I don't watch it on Tv like I did when I was following the Cubs all the time.

I am going to pose a tiny poll to you guys like I did at the buddy thread I follow. There is an interesting subliminal thing going on with most of you!

Have you told anyone your real weight and if so who?

Pretty much everyone knows (including my son-in-law) and the only lies I have are DMV and Naval ID. Even those I have 310 and 260 on. The DMV one I may achieve soon! lol Now, be brave and answer truthfully!

Sun is shining but farewell to the warmth. It is back to 35 here. Course I ain't a gonna trade Baylee! lol It was pretty chilly to exercise this morning.

Hey Baylee: Reading anything interesting? I am impatiently waiting for my next batch of books to arrive from my book club.

This is my one true secret from DH! He doesn't know how much I spend on books all the time. I pay all the bills so he has no idea how much money we have or anything. Poor guy is on a kind of tight leash because he can spend money on electronic junk like mad. His new thing is a flat screen monitor (nearly $300). What they heck do we need one of those for? Our monitor is only 18 month old and fits on desk perfectly. Just another new gadget and like I try to tell him when he gets upset when I want to know how much something is he wants to buy, no matter what I spend on something, it is cheaper that what you spend on one piece of junk you buy. We can get into some real heated arguments over it because I buy shoes, books and purses. The only thing that bugs him is the purses! Hey, it is better than food! Just to give you an example here is a few things he has currently: 2 scanners, 2 digital cameras, 3 full computers of different hard drive sizes, 4 printers including a photographic one, 2 cordless mice, at least 6 regular ones, a router, at least 100 different software programs, an older motherboard, different memory card etc and on and on! This is the second computer desk and he is looking to buy a new one and a new chair. Oh yes, I forgot, we have one of those camera thingies that attach to the computer too! Drives me nuts sometimes, but I try to not say anything!

Well, I need to go ladies.

You have a great day.

Talking Hello! Reporting in from WI

Hey guys.....typing REALLY FAST. I went to WI (not Wisconsin) and I lost .2 I know, it's amazing. I ate like a for three days and took Kat's advice and did the 3 mile WATP and still managed to eek out a loss. I am truly happy. Thanks again for all your support. What would I do without you?

Just had to say though.....Donna, I'll not get freaky on you, but when I saw you were originally from Indiana, I was terribly excited and the question was coming! I will have a terrible time concentrating the rest of the day now.

Have a great day ladies and I will definitely be back tonight!

Hi girlies, just ate my lunch while reading your posts. I had me a big ole salad again with tuna in it, was really yummy. Saving most of my points for tonights supper.....we are having boneless spareribs...cooked chinese style and all fat removed.

Yes, you are all right about the good habits, think I will take fruit slices to the next Daisy meeting for the girls.

2cute/this is my first year of being involved in the girlscouts. But having fun with the 5 girls that I have in the troop.

Tina....my sil loves Tony Stewart, but her hubby hates him he likes Jeff Gordon, so they argue the whole time a race is on....but all in good fun, they are both big race fans. We have a local track here and they never ever miss a Saturday night, but think this year its gonna be Friday nights. I occasionally tag along if my son wants to go, and it does get exciting.

Mdonna/ wow you can open your own computer store I guess. I still want to get a digital camera, but need to get another port thingy attachment cause my puter only had 2 and I got them all used up with the scanner and the printer.LOL...but Im not very high tech, but learning.

Hope everyones day is going well and thanks for the posts for my lunch time fix. Check in again later.

Angry Hiya chickies!

Donna: ARE WE MARRIED TO THE SAME MAN??!! I have lost count (not a joke) of all the computers (maybe six?) and their respective gadjets that we have! Btw, your question posed is a good one. When I weighed 270 pounds I told NO ONE my weight. Not one person and I NEVER would have! It took me breaking into the 100's (onederland) to finally reveal my weight to a very select few--namely all you 3FC chickies and I think I was about 175 pounds before I told a couple of friends and my hubby. Strange, isn't it? Everyone can see that we're overweight but actually putting a number to it... well, that was outta the question for me. I was filled with shame.

Reminds me of a being in grade eight.

Our class was going on a skiing trip and everyone had to fill in their personal info (including their weight) on some forms. The teacher in charge of the trip then POSTED all the info for our entire junior high to see! I, being embarrassed of my weight at that age too, had the foresight to leave my weight "space" blank but the other chubby girl in our class filled it out. She was teased mercilessly and I was horrified--and thanking god it wasn't me! I'll never forget it.

2Cute: Oh man! I hope your dog is okay! I know exactly how you feel with my little Moses being so sick last week! Let us know how he's doing, kay?

Okay. Tina says confession is good for the soul, so here goes... my eating has not been great lately. I mean, I do awesome for a few days and then BAM... a binge for an hour. Mind you, there's nothing unhealthy to eat in our house but you can still overeat on the healthy stuff. You know, I'm still at goal and all is well BUT, as of today, I'm stopping that binging behavior! It's like... WHERE THE HECK DID THAT COME FROM? Since last May, I've been a perfect angel ... Don't tell me... I'll tell YOU what it is! It's me, deciding I'm at goal and I can treat myself once in a while. Soon as I start to "treat" myself, I can't STOP (for the next hour) SO... that's something I'm going to work on! I think I may actually start a food journal! I know that sounds like a strange thing to START, after losing 120 pounds, but it may help me get into the groove of maintaining (and losing a few more pounds too!).

AND... yesterday I was so annoyed at Mother Nature! It was 1 degree celcius here yesterday and all of a sudden I thought, "What the heck am I going to the gym for when I could get outside and go for a nice long jog?" So off I went, with my MP3 player and my mittens. I decided I needed a good long workout so I planned for a full hour to jog... after about 20 minutes it started raining ever so slightly (spitting really) and I decided just to keep on running as it wasn't really affecting my jogging at all. Within the next 10 minutes or so, I dawned on me that the light rain was starting to FREEZE and that the temperature had dropped below the freezing point (0 degrees). All of a sudden, I realized I could hardly take a step without slipping... EVERYTHING was covered in a thin sheet of slick ice. GRRRR! I was a good 45 minute walk from my house by this point and I could hardly WALK... let alone jog! Grrrr! It took me FOREVER to get home!

I am going to the nice climate controlled gym in just a couple of minutes!

Whew! I should really stop writing now as I'm sure this post is already at the point where people stop reading and just SKIM it!

I'll be back!
Sara

Sandy: We bought a Samsung digital at Walmart for way less than $200 and all the pics I have posted were taken with it. It is great! Jack has something where he can load it into it also not just the computer, but ya got me what it is called. Oh and I forgot to include that I bought him a portable GPS for Christmas last year. Thing drives me bonkers on a trip with him playing with it WHILE HE IS DRIVING and the darn thing beeps all the time finding a satellite link.

Q: Good girl and I knew you didn't have to worry about that weight loss.

Sara: I am terrified of icy weather. I have fallen so many times that it totally freaks me out even hearing the word below freezing. I dislocated my knee about 5 years ago and of course the solution to the fact that I could not walk was "lose weight and your knee will be fine" Of course it has never been fine since then because I probably either tore or stretched the ligaments and I never know when it will go out on me which of course makes me stumble. Living in Indiana was a nightmare in the winter for me because Jack left for work before I and the walk from the apartment to the garage was a really long one. About 6 months after my accident, I slipped on ice next to our car and fell and wedged my boot with the bad knee under the car. It was very early am and it was dark and I was alone. You never heard anyone scream for help like I did. Luckily my husband heard me, but God it hurt to get that leg out. It happened again just a couple months ago. I must have gotten pledge on my tile floor in the laundry area and went waltzing across it, slipped, fell, popped out the knee and whacked my head on the carpeting. Bad thing was, I had come downstairs buck naked (yeah I know there is some kind of Freudian thing with me being naked all the time ) and I had a head full of red hair color on my head. Put a huge stain on our tan carpeting. I laid there knowing I had to get up and try and get upstairs so I could get some clothes on and wash out the color. What a job that was, trying to stand on the sore knee and then crawl up the stairs because I couldn't walk. I ended up calling dh to come home. On a funnier note, let's make a pact that if something ever happens to our dh's we have a huge electronics sale!

Now for those of you who have answered or are thinking about it regarding the poll, you need to consider this. Telling people the truth. Do you know why? The only power you have is what you give yourself and if you are embarrassed about your size, you cannot expect anyone else to treat you correctly. You ladies give yourself the power back. Be bold and not afraid to tell people how much you weigh and look them dead in the eye when you do. It will be amazing how it makes you feel and how people treat you different if you do not consider yourself inferior to them. Now, don't tell me you don't because if you are hiding than you feel inferior!

Love you ladies!
