My whoosh is over and I'm still at 155. probably won't see 154 for a week or so It seems my body likes losing five pounds SUPER FAST and then taking a break for a while, haha.

Oh well, still three pounds down so far this month!

I wanna play. Joining kinda late. But I've got a pretty good start on this. I've lost seven pounds this month. Just three more to go. That would put me at 187. Pretty sure I can do this and hopefully more.

Count me in!

Hi and thanks!

I just posted this in another thread, but it answers your question so I'll post it here too. I'll just add that I exercise fairly consistently either at the gym or right not just walking through the neighborhood. Today I did a 5.5 mile walk. I'll do the same walk tomorrow.

As far as food goes, here are the changes I made to get off my 9 month plateau and jump start my weight loss again. It took a lot of trial and error and the help of a nutritionist but for the moment it's working and I'm simply ecstatic.

Quote:
Being diabetic means I'm constantly at odds with carbs. This summer I've concentrated on eating constant smaller meals with more veggies and fruits as my staples. More raw food too. Baby carrots, celery, tomatoes, radishes, okra. Dip any of these in ranch dressing and it's all so yummy I never feel deprived.

Since I really dont' like to cook, I stick with stuff I can make quickly and without a lot of effort. Prepackaged, prewashed veggies like carrots, cauliflower and broccoli. I can eat that raw with some dip or steam them.

For fruit, I eat apples, all kinds of melons, nectarines, cherries, peaches. Still working on the fruit thing, I actually find most fruit to be too sweet.

For protein, I eat eggs (usually hard boiled, baked chicken, various kinds of fish (e.g., talapia, salmon, catfish, tuna salad, sardines). Nuts of all kinds. They're very high in calories though so if you have no portion control when it comes to stuff like this, purchase single serving size packages. Or only eat a handful or two at a time just as a snack.

Love me some seafood. Red Lobster is an occasional treat. Shrimp is my favorite.

I eat CONSTANTLY, but I do lose weight. It's not how often you eat, it's what you eat and your portion sizes. Oh and don't forget to exercise.

Get a handle on this, and you'll eventually start losing weight.

Good luck!

I am doing well so far!!! Its been 4 weeks since I started my journey... I am really starting to notice that I have very little food cravings for bad stuff, I hardly ever think about pop now (I was addicted) and I get full on way less food (waiting 20 minutes is the key for me). I have learned a lot of am excited to see what the next 4 weeks will brings

dont feel horrible, you just have to get back on that horse and keep riding!! dont be hard on yourself, but try get back on track asap. the longer you hold it off the harder it becomes to find the track again. ive found i usually like to binge eat when im by myself at home, and yesterday came very close to gettign in my car and going to buy the first block of chcolate i could find, but i put my runners on and went for a walk instead, played my music and cleared my head. so dont worry and look at what you have already accomplished, youve done so well!!

Don't feel too badly. Shoot earlier this summer I binged on ice cream for about a month. I simply could not get enough. Fortunately I did not gain much weight cause I was exercising regularly. My mom even wondered how I could eat like that and not gain. Had to be the work outs. I finally stopped that madness, got scheduled with a nutritionist and got back on track.

That's all ya gotta do is get back on track. What's done is done.

Woohoo!

SW: 228.8
CW: 218.8

I stepped on that scale 16 different ways, and it flickered between 218.8 and 219.0 but settled enough times on 218.8 that I am going to take it! What a terrific first week, 'water weight' or not!

I'm going to try for 8 more in September:

SW: 218.8
GW: 210.8

Thank you so much to everyone who has helped me through this weekend you all are the only support I have, and fantastic ones at that.

I worked very very hard yesterday...
and...
I really really need to get to they gym this morning. I weighed myself on my scale just now and I was 220.6! I did it 5 more times, standing in different positions on the scale and it said the same! I don't understand. Maybe my body just let go of a bunch of water or something? I am not complaining by any means and even if it isn't "real," it still gives me a lot of motivation. That would mean I am 4lb down since September 1st, (actually, because of my plateau, since August 15th) but I am almost in the 2teens! It has been years since I've been that weight. :-) so yeah, even if this isn't real, it still makes me want to push even harder. Funny how that works: even with doubt and skepticism, a silly number can improve a person's outlook and mood.

Well since i started weighing last Sunday I am up for the FIRST time. A little dissapointed but I know its not the end of the world. 176 yesterday ... 176.4 today.

I have 2 possible reasons why
1. My TOM started 2 weeks early - no idea why, pretty pissed about it. Since Ive never seriously exercised and dieted during my TOM I dont know know when I bloat or whatever - so possibly this is the cause?
2. While I did work out yesterday I didn't go to the gym - I did a 2.8 mile walk outside - it was no where near as strenuous as my workouts at the gym, so I dont know if that contributed too.

But I have NOT gone off my points. I guess all I can do is hit the gym today and hope it goes back down tomorrow?
