Courtnie's post made me think about this, how is everyone doing with the weekends? Do you make a game plan on Friday with the weekend in mind?

Beverlyjoy Hi and Welcome! Glad to have you join in!

Diana - I usually try and make a plan. I don't always follow it though. I find the best way for me to succeeded on the weekends is to plan fun "healthy" meals. So baked chicken thighs with cut up potatoes, or a healthier lasagna, turkey burgers - something that doesn't feel like I am depriving myself of the food I love. If that makes sense.

The problem is - this weekend we were away in paradise. And the boyfriend bought chips and took me for a nice dinner, etc. That is when I fail. Next weekend we are travelling to Montreal. I dunno how to stay on track when I am not at home! I have NO will power!

I forgot about that. I went back to look at your post. You went to Tofino. Tell us about it. I have never been there.

It was awesome! I have been there before with my family and stuff, but never for a romantic weekend away. We had a beautiful cabin kinda set in the woods, with a hot tub out off the main bedroom. I rather enjoyed my morning coffee in the hot tub... missing that this morning! We did do a few hours of walking over the two days we were there - so that was a plus! Our little doggie had a blast on the beach.

These pictures seriously do not do the beach any justice... but anyway.

Courtnie Wow! It's absolutely beautiful! I'm sure the hot tub's not bad either. I know you had a wonderful time. There are some cabins that I have looked at staying at, in the mountains, that have hot tubs and indoor pools. I would love that!

Courtnie - gorgeous pictures! wow, makes me want to schedule my virginia beach trip sooner rather than later...

So, good news from me - the scale was at 202.5 this morning, after weeks of being stuck at or above 203. And this was on a Monday morning, which means I actually lost over the weekend, a weekend which involved a trip to an all you can eat buffet, no less. I have been sticking to my no sweets rule and resisted some more leftover easter candy that came my way, and refused an offer of homemade biscotti last night. And while I was tempted to stop at the pizza-by-the-slice place last night, I went and had some barley and broccoli for dinner instead. Onederland is close! Just one more pound to my ticker weight.

Today:

breakfast: oatmeal (150 calories), 12 almonds (80), one cup skim milk (90), one smallish banana (80). and lots of water.

lunch: spaghetti (300 calories - it's a multigrain kind that is higher in fiber and protein, and cooked it al dente to have a lower Glycemix Index), 3/4 cup sauce (150), 6 slices of deli turkey (45) and 2 tsp of parmesean cheese (50).

Then I had a great run - ran the route of my 5k race that I am running this Saturday, and had a South Beach brand peanut butter granola bar for my recovery snack (150 calories). Then a big glass of iced mint green tea to rehydrate after my run. Looking forward to something with lots of veggies for dinner - probably some kind of stir-fry over quinoa.

Keep up the great work everybody!

Blueridgegirl You are so close to onderland. I am so frustrated with the 230's right now. I NEED to get out of the 230's now!

Caved and ate two butter tarts today! yikes. Did skip my granola bar though... and ended up going for dinner. I ordered an awesome salad, but it still wasn't overly low in calories. Anyway... tomorrow is a new day!
