Thanks everyone! We did have a great time.

Paradise - you meals are looking much better! Don't worry about a few chocolates.

I am really trying to use food in the house and avoid spending too much on food this week (hence my weird lunches lol). Since I am gone for a few days and the boyfriend is unpredictable in what he eats, I don't want to waste too much food. I will need to get some more fresh veggies though and I think I will make a double batch of mini meatloaves tonight for left overs... maybe half turkey half regular ground beef (high in calories, but cheap! lol). Might also cook up a batch of baked falafels... anyway, thinking out loud, on to today.

Breakfast: 311 calories
english muffin w/ .25 avocado, 2 slices turkey bacon and alfalfa sprouts
grande americano w/ half and half

Snack: 75 calories
small banana

Lunch: 440 calories
garden burger patty
4 perogies
salad mix w/ fat free kraft dressing

Snack: 60 calories
yogurt

Dinner: 460 calories
mini turkey/beef meatloaf
baby potatoes
roasted broccoli and carrots

Total: approx 1350

Exercise:
40 min on e. bike; went pretty hard core this morning too - felt great!

Water: 5+ litres

Since I started the cal counting thing, I've noticed that I'm not buying as many groc each week as I used to. The change of seasons may have something to do with it also. I'm buying more produce than I used to, but we've gone from 2 gallons of milk a week to one. Mostly things like that. Also less spontanous things, lol, like snacks. My vision doesn't let me drive so Hubby comes shopping with me every time, and he's not putting in the cart some of the things he used too, and making better choices himself.

Penguin - I am calling you that because I love penguins! lol I find I am always shopping. But I also don't keep a lot of meat in the freezer. So lots of times I stop and get some meat or veggies or whatever for dinner. I also love cooking, so I am always missing something from a recipe I see. I normally don't mind - I just dont want a bunch of stuff going to waste while I am gone. And sometimes I do spend too much on food. I need to just eat what I have... like veggies burgers, lol.

I probably spend way more now on food then I did in previous years. We eat way better though - not just health wise but taste wise too. Junk food is cheap!

I agree with the high costs! Even counting calories I could get away with a smaller budget, but this week I paid almost $100 for groceries for my low carb diet!!

And I'm just *hoping* it lasts 2 weeks, lol. But I doubt it. I'm going to have to rethink steaks and lunch meats. When you only buy organic/all natural, the price gets insane!

Hi chicks - here's my food for 4/13/10

My plan took some twists and turns. I had some dental work yesterday and my jaw joint is very sore and that became apparent after lunch. By dinner I went to soft food

breakfast - ww english muffin, npnb, black berries, coffee unsweetened dark cocoa powder & splenda

lunch - wendy's moderate size new salad (test marketing in my city) It's deelish! Chicken, apple, cranberries, pecans, salad with pomegranate dressing all for about 350 calories.

snack - orange, small amt of fiber cereal with almond milk

dinner - mashed sweet potato, mashed up cauliflower, cottage cheese with diced tomato, lite margerine

snack - instant grits with cheese, strawberries mashed up.

1380 calories
stretches and strengthening
lots of water

When I got on the scale this morning I had lost two pounds from last week. I am always grateful for that. yay!

Hi Patchworkpenguin! - nice to see you! ICBINBS - is I Can't Beleive it's Not Butter Spray. (ps - I love your forum name)

Beverly Last year I had a root canal and a drain put in. I ate chicken and dumplings for a couple days. I just knew I was going to gain weight on them, but I didn't. I hope you feel better soon.

Nicole Can you look up the calories online from particular brand that you bought? I looked at daily plate and the average is 2 slices is 80 calories.

Beverly, thanks for the acronym help and the compliment. I quilt and collect penguins so my username is very appropriate.

Sotypical, Calling me Penguin is fine. Occasionally my Hubby does also. Since I collect penguins they are everywhere and we treat them like members of the family, giving them names and creating personalites for them. Like the 4 ft tall stuffed penguin is named Masso {short for massive} and he's the Mafia Penguin, to keep Hubby in line. Hey its weird but entertaining and keeps us off the streets.
