Well, I dropped another half pound, which is cool. So my official weigh in is 213.5.

I bought steel cut oats and I'm very excited to try them this morning. My husband has reserve duty this weekend so it will be very easy to stick to my plan. Weekends are always my downfall, so it will be nice to be able to make a strong start this weekend.

I'm going to go for a walk in an hour or so. It's supposed to get real cold and rainy this weekend (snow in the mountains ), which means we may get a bit of a flurry as we're at a higher elevation. Ugh. But it's beautiful today, so I may as well take advantage of it!

Question of the day: What kind of music do you listen to?

I listen to almost everything. I was going through my ipod yesterday thinking I have a real mix of music. I'm a rock and roll girl, but I have a couple of country songs on there, and I have some Missy Elliott and Usher. I have some real old rock on there (Rolling Stones, Blind Faith, Skynrd) because that's what my dad listened to when we were growing up. Lots of GnR, and favorites from my teen years: Eddie Money and Triumph. Of course I have music from my alternative period-Depeche Mode and the Cure, Stone Roses and Primal Scream. And lots and lots of Foo Fighters.

So what do you listen to?

Eh, up to 156 today, still TOM. Expected, but so unexciting. But I ran 25 minutes this morning. I'm still not used to being able to do that

In response of the question of the day.....I listen to variations of hardcore and metal. I do have have some guilty pleasures from the top 40, but hardcore is what's close to my hair

I'm still not in my house yet so the scale is packed, and I haven't had access to one. Should be able to weigh-in next week or the week after. The flooring guys have been doing their thing and should be done enough this weekend that we can start moving some stuff in.

Yeah, my musical taste is pretty obvious. The picture in my profile is me with my favorite musician. It's pretty obvious what kind of music I listen to by that

For music i am a cross between Darby and TheHeather. My favorite band is System of a Down. I like everything but country and gangster rap.

Darby: I went on it for health reasons. If I didn't have high cholesterol and a huge family history of heart disease I would probably just calorie count. However I have been following it for a month. I am generally following a less than 10% calories from fat, no oil vegetarian diet, with no dairy or eggs. McDougall fits that bill, as does Dr. Ornish, Dr. Esselstyn, etc. The weight is just falling off so fast. I even lost 1/2 a pound over the last 3 days even though it is TOM! Normally I go up a couple pounds then drop after. I'm quite pleased and feel so healthy. I do not feel deprived at all, I know if I want a treat I can just make one myself. I have been on an eating plan like this before and lost 70 pounds in 7 months. Then I fell off the diet was ate all kinds of junk. I'm sticking to it this time. I don't want to be burdened with heart disease at any age, much less a young one.

So I love finding new foods I can eat... my new fav....

1 whole wheat tortilla
1/2 c mushroom spaghetti sauce (with oregano, crushed peppers, basil, & garlic)
olives
pineapple

I put the olives & pineapple in toaster oven. Heat the sauce. Then my tortilla on pan. Then put ingredients on half on the tortilla and then flip over like a fajita =]

300 calories for a large treat

jillnicole-how did you come up with that combo? It sounds like a strange combination, but I bet it tastes a bit like pizza!

kierr-I know what you mean about fast weight loss! The problem I have with it is that I never stick with it. The longest I've done McDougall is 3 weeks. I know that it's the healthiest way for me to eat, yet I always sabotage myself. But I'm going to keep working at it until it sticks.

Well, I walked 4 miles today, so feeling proud of myself. I got on the scale and it's showing that I dropped down 2.5 lbs. Now I don't know if that's due to my eating plan or due to the end of TOM, but either way, I'll take it!

Have a great Saturday!
