2frustrated 07-25-2006 04:21 AM

I'm just going to let him stew about it (or let him think he's got his way - whatever) and just show up on Saturday. If he wants to throw a hissy fit infront of our friends then that's fine by me  however since no-one else has a problem, I don't have a problem, and I'm pretty capable of ignoring a few text messages, as long as I know that I'm still "allowed" to go and that I have a hotel room booked. If he wants to be an :censored: then that's up to him, he'll only show himself up! HA!

Oooh you have mischevious doglins ;)

peacock 2 07-25-2006 04:23 AM

Poor 2 frus! Still you don't have to be near him all the time and hopefully won't sit near him when having a meal. Any other ladies going?

You are more determind than I. I would have had an alternative venue sorted out and ...sod them!

Anyway - unless you and he are romantically joined - which you clearly are not! - what has you coming with them got to do with wives and girlfriends or can he not see that???

peacock 2 07-25-2006 04:28 AM

Sarah nn- That pic you have painted of your habby looking like bambi!!!!

2 frus - I would not bother responding to idiot's texts - he is a nothing and you do not respond to nothing. He is of no importance - please do not let him make you cry. He is the only one being annoying - if the other guys are happy with you being there- just ignore him. Do not waste your emotions on him!

2frustrated 07-25-2006 04:29 AM

 EXACTLY

I don't want to tell 'em all to go to **** 'cos I was looking forward to having a great weekend with them. Why should I not go just because of this one guy?

I am really lost on this "you can't come cos I'm having relationship troubles" WTF??? There is another girlie who may come down for the day on Sunday, but everyone else made other plans after we were all told it was a "boys weekend" However my DF was doing other stuff so we didn't make any other plans and I'm the only one free now!

Edit - for 2nd peacock post. The only reason I was upset was because he made it sound like it was a "boys weekend" again. Like it was back and forwards and back and forwards. But it's just him

Sarah Ann 07-25-2006 04:49 AM

Gimme his address and I'll go round and talk to him for you ..... grrrrrr!

Basically, he's a bully. Spitting out his dummy cos he's not getting his own way. You can see why he's having 'women' problems.

2frustrated 07-25-2006 04:59 AM

He's just a big :bb:

I'm really looking forward to seeing the look on his face on Saturday

I've wasted far too much energy worrying about this already - but b!tching about him IS fun! ;) I'll take some pictures over the weekend and we can all b!tch more about how it'd be only himself he'd be "pulling" :o

I remembered! He's on the website! www.shentie-kickboxing.com under instructors, name begins with a D!!! If you want to go see him!

Sarah Ann 07-25-2006 05:41 AM

Would you believe it?? On Sunday I sold a fairly cheap man's T shirt on eBay and the bloke just came to collect it. No warning, no emails, nothing! He said he was just 'passing' and thought he would save himself the P&P and collect - but nobody just passes this village unless they are lost or like bird watching.

I thought it was creepy - he said he had checked my listings and could he come in and see a few of the other items I'm selling in his size. Nope. Like I'm going to let him in when I'm here on my own. I was just blustering on about not being insured or rated to trade as a shop from this house when Fred went in to defence mode and starting growling then George came to see what was going on and the bloke beat a quick retreat.

Just checked and he only lives in Doncaster so maybe he felt like a nice drive out - but it still felt creepy.

2frustrated 07-25-2006 06:04 AM

Oooer, that is a bit creepy. At least he's gone now though!

How did he know your address?

Sarah Ann 07-25-2006 06:43 AM

Well - you kinda have to send them your address if you want them to pay you - they wouldn't know where to send the cheque or postal order otherwise. Most people pay through PayPal though.

He's an eBay newbie so he might not know that its not the 'done thing' to just roll up at the seller's house to collect.

2frustrated 07-25-2006 06:53 AM

Oh yeah OK then ;) :p

I presumed he was a pay-pal-er ;)

Sarah Ann 07-25-2006 09:05 AM

I've just been swimming - I thought it would be packed because of the school holidays but there was only about a dozen people there. I didn't realise that they've turned the lunchtime 12 to 1.30 slot in to an adults only session for the duration of the school holidays. Thoughtful!

Its SO hot here. Cycling back made me feel really quite ill.

I think I'm going to have to have a carb meal BEFORE exercise because my legs keep feeling wobbly without and I don't have much enthusiasm for whatever exercise it is that I'm doing.

Sarah Ann 07-25-2006 09:07 AM

No - there are a lot of people (especially newbies) who don't trust PayPal and TBH I can't blame them. Its not been so bad since eBay took over PayPal but before they did PayPal routinely 'lost' withdrawn money.

2frustrated 07-25-2006 09:30 AM

Carbs before exercise are a good idea - I like to carb-up pre 2 hours sesh on Thursday

Pachyderm 07-25-2006 09:46 AM

My internet connection is rubbish at the moment, I keep losing access to the internet.

Frus, D is a :censored: and doesn’t deserve to go on the trip. I hope he has a really bad time!

Lou, I have signed up for the same race as you on the 3rd September. I hope I can be fit enough by then to run 5K - at the moment it is looking doubtful!

Sarah your dogs do sound sweet, despite their diet of car seats. My dogs would just run the other way if something scary happened, they are such wimps. I have forgiven them for their behaviour on Sunday, particularly as my sister has bought a paddling pool to lounge in during this hot weather, and the dogs are so scared of it that they wouldn’t come outside yesterday – it was very funny!

The ebay guy probably didn't even think about how you would feel. I read a book by Josie Dew called Slow Coast Home about her cycle tour around the coast of England and Wales. Comments by male cyclists on Amazon criticized Josie for trying to avoid men she did not know when out on her own in the wilds, but when I read it I completely understood why she wouldn't want men following her on their bikes! A lot of men I've come across have a similar lack of thought about how women might feel about strange men. Your guy was downright creepy, but probably not trying to be threatening. Hope you enjoy your new car!

Carbs - Do you think that my morning runs could be worse than my later ones because I don't eat before them? :?: I'm only exercising for 30 minutes, and I assumed my lack of energy was because it is hot and I'm low on water as I obviously have not been drinking a lot of water while I'm asleep! I have a pint of water before I leave and have breakfast when I get back. If I should have some kind of carbs, what could I have that wouldn't mean waiting before I can exercise?

2frustrated 07-25-2006 09:49 AM

Carbs could be the reason. How about trying something like a cereal bar, or an apple? It should give you something to run on for a bit. I guess Helen knows best though ;)

Pachyderm 07-25-2006 09:51 AM

I'll try that on my Thursday run. I'm supposed to be running for 20 minutes for the first time. I might die....

2frustrated 07-25-2006 09:55 AM

Is that C25K??

I thought that about the 20 minutes too, but it's amazing. You CAN do it, because you've been training to do it. Soon you'll be running a half-marathon like us mad fools ;)

lou1978 07-25-2006 09:57 AM

Pachyderm ... us too... were only up to 3mins.. lol... oh well..

if u wanna meet before we could stuggle along together at the back lol...

lou1978 07-25-2006 09:58 AM

argh.. ur much ahead of us !.. ur pratically there!

Pachyderm 07-25-2006 09:59 AM

 C25K

I hope I will be running half marathons soon as well, and maybe even marathons, that would be really

My sisters BF's mother does a lot of running, and she just ran a 33 mile race across Dartmoor in her mid-fifties and came something like 7th. It's just embarassing that I'm moaning about 8minutes today!:o One day though...

Pachyderm 07-25-2006 10:01 AM

Lou we posted at the same time. I'm currently doing it on my own so it would be cool to meet up before the race.

2frustrated 07-25-2006 10:04 AM

Holy guacamole! 33 miles! ROCK ON!!!!

Sarah Ann 07-25-2006 10:14 AM

Oh yes - I find it essential to eat something before exercise. My morning exercise is an 8 mile walk which consists of walking down hills, scrambling/running up hills and interval jogging on the flat and, on the couple of occasions I've tried doing it without eating first, I've felt pretty awful. Lethargic, wobbly, headachey, complete lack of interest. I have one of those Sainsbury Be Good To Yourself maple flavoured cereal bars before I go (about 70 calories) and I also take one with me - it makes all the difference - I just eat a little less breakfast when I get back.

My problem is with my later in the day exercise - I can never seem to get the timing and type of the meal before exercise right. :( I tried having a protein meal about an hour before swimming today - I won't do that again. Definitely need carbs before exercise.

Sarah Ann 07-25-2006 10:15 AM

33 miles! Wow! There is hope for me yet. :)

That's what I think....and she only started running 6 years ago!

kykaree 07-25-2006 10:57 AM

Geobars, you can get them at Oxfam, co-op and other places are really good pre exercise, so are nanas :cb:

I hope you left creepy man negative feedback SarahAnn.

I'm tired today, can I go home now?

2frustrated 07-25-2006 11:24 AM

Can I go home too?

Pachyderm 07-25-2006 11:34 AM

My boss said we could go home early today (at 3pm she said we would all go soon), but it's 4.30 now so that is looking unlikely!

My sister is sat in one of those extra deep paddling pools, I'm not impressed!

2frustrated 07-25-2006 11:38 AM

It's too hot to work :hot: I want to go and sweat in the dojo ;)

Just a few hours till kickboxing!

Pachyderm 07-25-2006 11:40 AM

I've done no work all day. It's too hot to concentrate.

Mind you, I don't do much work anyway - it's too boring!!

impossible princess 07-25-2006 12:07 PM

Has anyone tried the new ryvita cereal bars they are only about 60cals per bar so that is seriously good

YP1 07-25-2006 04:08 PM

That's what I have as my pre-run snack sometimes. I used to eat nothing before exercising in the morning, then just have a bigger breakfast when I finished. By as my mileage has increased I've started sometimes having a small snack (the 60 calorie bars are perfect) before, or taking some energy drink out with me (or both).

Time for a brief Frus style rant, I went to a work thing tonight, a cricket match against some clients. It was just so segregated, all the boys got to play while the girls were there (with a three line whip) but had to just sit on the sidelines watching and clapping. I know I'm fitter than half of the blokes, and judging by their performance know very little less about how to play cricket, but I don't get to join in with their games. Grr. Anyway, I had a couple of drinks but didn't eat any cakes from the buffet so that's a vague victory, as is the fact that I walked there and back (about a mile and a half from home). Although my sense of distance is getting a bit warped. I run past the cricket club on my regular route and was thinking that it was only 10 - 15 minutes away, without remembering that it's only that close when I'm running, not wearing a dress, and wearing trainers... Still, it was a nice evening for a walk!

lou1978 07-25-2006 04:45 PM

ive always wondered how u know how far a mile is... if u went faster/slower etc.. jens dad know how far we walked etc.. but i havent a clue.. just a random number lol.... um 5 miles sounds about right we walked quite far.... hehe

YP1 07-25-2006 05:12 PM

I only know on my regular routes - or if I'm running I know that a mile is usually between 9 and 10 minutes, so I can get a vague idea.

I'm stupidly excited. Apparently the London marathon application forms have hit JJB, so guess where I'm going tomorrow lunchtime...

I've not been put off just yet, although realistically I'm not expecting to get a ballot place on my first attempt/

2frustrated 07-26-2006 04:00 AM

OMG! I'm going to get myself one of those too! ;) A friend of mine did it and she is willing me to apply, she reckons no-one's admitted on their first attempt, so I guess there's no real harm trying to apply!

Everything's all sorted with the :bb: - oh he's still spitting his dummy out over the weekend, but I have a hotel room! I have Lee on my side - all's good! Just need to pack and things! :D I'm going to wear my corset for clubbing :sssh:

I'm getting better at my purple belt stuff! :D Should be able to go for it soon, then I'll hopefully get blue in September with everyone else grading, then quickly moving on to brown before PG gets back in mid-November and straight to black! :D :D :D :hyper:

Sarah Ann 07-26-2006 05:10 AM

G' Morning!

Its a GREAT day - its my rest day, DH is walking the dogs - and its raining :) :) Its not that I want DH to get wet, its just nice that its not me - for a change!

We went to a Beefeater restaurant last night - after all my careful meal planning. The food was nice but not great - grilled sardines to start (I didn't eat the 'rustic' bread that came with it) followed by smoked chicken, bacon mango and strawberry salad - interesting combination but not very filling. I tried to be good but the wine defeated me....

I'm now cooking all the chicken I'd prepared for last night's dinner - it'll do for snacks over the next couple of days.

Good luck with trying to get selected for the London Marathon - it'd be lovely if there were a 3 Fat Chicks contingent there. :crossed:

2frustrated 07-26-2006 06:15 AM

We should dress up in little chickie outfits!

I've decided to have a carb day. Needless to say I'm not feeling particularly well after my turkey sandwich on a cheesey bakery bun from Tesco :barf: I think I'll go back to minimal carbs. I feel awful! :stars:

Sarah Ann 07-26-2006 06:47 AM

Hmm..... I feel like that if I eat a LOT of carbs - its difficult getting the balance just right. I think that I need lots of carbs before exercise but not at other times. I think I'm going to have a carb & fruit breakfast and carb & fruit/veg mid morning meal but then just eat protein with fruit or veg for the rest of the day.

This PN is very heavy on protein and (I think) carbs are supposed to come mainly from fruit & veg with a little from multi grain bread or oats - well, thats the way I read it. Have you seen the list of stuff you aren't supposed to eat at http://www.johnberardi.com/articles/...aneating_2.htm (hope the link works!) Very restrictive. I'm going to finish this try out week and if I don't see good results then I'll just go back to normal low GI with l/f protein.

2frustrated 07-26-2006 06:55 AM

I did read that. I also think life's too short to go, "Ooooh JB says I can't have margarine, so I'll NEVER eat it again!" I had margarine (Flora) on my cheesey bread roll. The rest of the day actually looks pretty sound - I've decided not to have my soreen snack pack (exercisey type carbs :T according to Anita Bean and the dudes who wrote my Fighter's Nutrition Manual!!!).

I've made a chart with 6 meals a day and little boxes to tick when I have my good meals and I'm going to track it like that. Today I'm chillin though - I'm not sure it's wise to go low carb all the time. Although looking back, I haven't been too low carb for too many days in a row.

I am liking the protein - there have been days where I've not felt like eating ANYTHING, not even cake! So I guess that's the protein that does that! ;)
