I only know one person, but they don't have a credit card or paypal or anything and I don't fancy posting the cash out.
It says on their site they only post to the US/Canada.

Ohhh AHHHHHHHHHH OWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just did the Billy Blank Tae Bo Video for Abs and Glutes.... Blummin' Heck that is SOME workout. I think I've lost a stone in sweat and my abs are burning! I've never had burning abs before. :dizzy: I went to a jumble sale at the school yesterday and towards the end they were selling off a load of exercise videos for 25p each! I suppose most people thought that yesterday afternoon it was too hot to even be thinking about exercise - the school hall was like a sauna.

Hommersmummy - try the American eBay. If the seller says on the ad that they don't ship to the UK then email them and explain the problem and say you're happy to pay the additional shipping costs and you know that shipping will take a while. I've done it lots of times and I only once had a refusal - but you will have to log on through the American site rather than trying to look at the American listings through the UK site.

Cat90 - well - its a nice quiet area, apart from the Chavs next door - and now Mr Chav has disappeared it has been very quiet.

Did I mention that Mr Chav has disappeared? Properly disappeared. The Police escorted him to the house to collect some stuff and a car and then say they followed him in to Doncaster - since then nobody's seen him and he hasn't been to work, seen any of their friends or drawn money out of their account or anything. Mrs C is so disappointed - she had gone to all the effort of getting some kind of Court Order / Injunction to stop him coming back and he hasn't even tried.

Tried ebay before I did the actual swimsuit shop search. I don't really fancy a second hand swimsuit anyways... just a little icky.

I'll figure something. Gym first, who knows it might do wonders and i'll be slipping into a size 20 or so before I know it. ;)

kykaree 07-16-2006 11:31 AM

Lots of EBay sellers sell new things. You might find a US Ebay based shop that deals in new cozzies.

Have Evans not got anything in the swimsuit department? Each Evans varies such a lot. For example, the one in Bury closest to me is useless, the ginormous one in the Trafford Centre is next to useless, and the one in Manchester is usually quite good.

Don't give up!

Sarah Ann 07-16-2006 11:37 AM

 I'm an eBay seller and I don't sell second hand things under my business ID - I do, occasionally, sell my own stuff off but thats under my personal ID.

Look out for an item which has BNWT in the title (it means brand new with tags) or sometimes just 'NEW'. The other way to be sure of what you are getting - and being able (by Law) to return it for a refund - is to look at the amount of feedback a seller has got, a professional seller usually has lots of it and will also have quite a lot of things for sale.

Sarah Ann 07-16-2006 11:41 AM

Just been to have a look - they call it NWT (new with tags) over there. Here's a link: http://clothing.listings.ebay.com/Pl...istingItemList

Hope it works :)

Sarah Ann 07-16-2006 11:45 AM

How strange - they've got less plus size items for sale on the .com site than we have on the .co.uk site! Some nice cozzies though.

Oh I buy second hand clothes a lot, just a bit weary about underwear type things! I always wondered what BNWT meant haha! :o

I'm wondering if I would be allowed to wear a sarong just to walk to the pool with. I doubt it though. :( Then I would have NO worries about going!

Mheh, i'm not giving up, I desperately want to get in that pool!:^:

Sometimes they won't let you do that because on the fibres in none swimwear fabric and the pool filters etc. Honestly I feel the same way as you do - I just make sure I sit pretty close to the pool steps - then take a deep breath, get up and get in. They will only look once! I think people are too busy worrying about themselves to notice what you are doing anyway. It's not that bad and when it's hot you've got to take a dip!

Homersmummy 07-16-2006 02:18 PM

US sizes are confusing me to heck!
They're either too low backed, too high legged or horrid pattern, that screams, fat cow here! :( Oh. *stamps feet*:(

Sarah Ann 07-16-2006 03:29 PM

Honest - people won't watch you - if they do notice (which is unlikely) then they'll think you are being a very brave person by trying to get fit.

The sarong thing will just draw attention to you. IMHO the best thing is wear a subtle black or dark cozzie, get there 5-10 mins after the session has started and leave 5-10 mins before it ends.

TBH I never look at anyone else except for the couple of people who are there everytime I go - and once you're in the water the only bit of you that people can see is your face and head! Honest - just try it - if you don't like it or if people do look at you (extremely unlikely) then you need never go back again. (Same with the gym!)

lou1978 07-16-2006 03:41 PM

there is a woman at my gym... she is bigger than i am... BUT she swims FAR better than i ever could/ will.... good on her for getting fit!.. maybe you could ring and ask the pool when their "quiet "times" are e.g a sat afternoon and u risk being having a 7yr old land on your head... etc!

its the twiglets in the changroom that do my head in drying hair, some sit on chairs both in front of the mirror and then parade up n down in NOTHING !.... there is no need.. there should be a rule.. at least a pair of knickers!..

i dont let it bother me now.. but i used to be trying to get dressed under my towel chick.. everyone else just stips off (I do NOT do any of the above activities!) ... so they can lump it.. or not look @ it ! haha...

kykaree 07-16-2006 04:31 PM

You could wear a sarong and ditch it by the pool side, but then your faced with putting it back on when your wet and soggy. I wouldn't bother. I was a size 26/28 when I first went swimming, and no one said a thing. I didn't notice anyone watching me. Try and find a suit that plays up your best bits, if you have a nice cleavage, or good shoulders, find one that shows that off. I have quite a sporty suit, but it has a lovely vee line and no one looks at my thunder thighs!!!!!

Your thigs/bum/ tum is only on show long enough for you to get into the pool. I can almost guarantee you won't be the fattest!

Homersmummy 07-16-2006 05:29 PM

Well, the session starts at 8am, it's all ladies, so that's no worries. I can only find high legged cossies. I want a normal low leg one if possible... with highish back... but can I find in a 28? Noooo. :(
I'm gonna keep trying...

Heva2015 07-16-2006 09:03 PM

Remember a UK 28 is a US 26! Good luck!

BritinNJ 07-16-2006 09:04 PM

HM, High legged cossies are actually more flattering luvey, they don't make yoour thighs squish out as much as the lower leg types...not saying you have thighs that swquish out or anything, but I have thighs on me and I find the higher leg line more flattering, it makes your legs look longer. Good luck with your search...and if you do want anything sent from the US, PM me and we'll see what we can do to help, PS US dress sizes are two sizes smaller than UK :)

2frustrated 07-17-2006 03:51 AM

Been camping this weekend :D was lots of fun! Went for a midnight walk, saw a satellite, a shooting star and a hedgehog!

I am still going to train. I still need to say some things, but we'll see what happens. I won't be happy smiling Jen at kickboxing for a while. :censored:

Went for a nice run this morning - round the park twice and back home :D I feel so nice after my shower and run :D I really like it! It took a while to get going but I was only thinking of the shower when I got in, and it got me as far as the door!

Going to the gym at lunch to throw some metal around :D My arms and back are looking decidedly flabbier at the moment :(

kykaree 07-17-2006 03:53 AM

I can't wear a high leg, because I have a big tummy fold over which peeks out. Keep going and you'll be an 18 - 20 before you know it, and life gets easier! Well shopping anyhoo!

Sarah Ann 07-17-2006 04:19 AM

I can't wear a high leg either - same reason as Ky.

Frus, I do so hope that the hedgehog wasn't up with the satellite and shooting star!

Did my normal walk/scramble/jog/run thing this morning - I'm getting faster. I do a route which incorporates as many hills as possible and, when I started, it took me 2hrs 5mins and now I've got it down to 1hr 55mins - unless I stop and let the dogs have a swim.

I've got 'movement to music' aka aerobics this afternoon - in this heat!! I'm so looking forward to tomorrow which is one of my swimming days. I'm taking a friend of mine who is a size 34 with me - brave lady - and we are cycling there - she's also coming to aerobics with me today!

Sarah Ann 07-17-2006 04:53 AM

Did anyone else see the interview with Kylie Minogue last night? :)

I don't particularly like her music but I thought she was a complete star during that interview. Very brave. I'm not sure I really understand why she put herself through the ordeal of that interview.

It was only during that programme that DH and I realised that when we saw her live in Manchester it must have been one of the last gigs she did before making the announcement that she had cancer - and last night she said she felt totally exhausted all during that tour - well, she put on an absolutely fantastic show - singing and dancing for a couple of hours - and never let her exhaustion show for one second. A real example to us all!

Lets hope that younger women everywhere now realise that breast cancer isn't restricted to the more mature lady and start checking themselves.

peacock 2 07-17-2006 05:11 AM

No I missed the interview although I saw a preview.

I really like her although I don't have any of her music. I think she is great and I loved it when she was at the Aussie Olympic thing with all the drag queens. When you have the likes of Donna Summer who distanced herself from her gay following - blah blah blah AIDS blah blah blah - but Kylie doesn't forget she is an Icon for them. That was so cool and an opening night for the Olympics I shall never forget!!

I have a lot of time for the Pop pixie!

peacock 2 07-17-2006 05:24 AM

Mmmm. The French guy is back at work and brought back some more Pim's - the raspberry flavour jaffa cakes from France. Yum yum!

kykaree 07-17-2006 05:57 AM

We don't have Sky. I think she's a complete star, and love her to bits. I didn't like her earlier muzak, but her later stuff I love. The only album I bought was Impossible Princess which bombed here, but did well in Oz.

I'm battling in the heat too. Off to the gym at work after I finish. I haven't been using my posh gym much, still deciding whether to date or ditch......I'll be glad of it in winter, but in summer I tend to do other things that full on gym work.

2frustrated 07-17-2006 06:15 AM

I should be so lucky... I didn't see it, but I have total respect for her too! I noticed in Grazia she is looking a lot healthier and like she's eating sandwiches!!! ;) :bravo:

Not too hot here, or maybe I'm not noticing it much. :dunno: Off to the gym at lunch :D :D :hyper:

Pachyderm 07-17-2006 06:24 AM

I went for a run yesterday at about midday :faint: . Stupid I know, but I slept in in the morning, and had friends coming over at 2 so if I wanted to run then it had to be then. I came back the most amazing purple colour, it was impressive :hot:

I am going to my sister's graduation on Tuesday and Wednesday. The comment about the hall where she is graduating, is that it is hot when it is raining so I can't imagine what it will be like in this weather!

Only two days of work this week :cb:

Sarah Ann 07-17-2006 08:43 AM

I just walked to the post office and back and I'm not sure now that I'll be going to aerobics. TOO HOT!!!

OMG some old people are rude! I was struggling with four giant carrier bags full of eBay parcels along a narrow pavement with my iPod playing and one old boy who was hurtling along on his invalidity scooter on the pavement from behind me yelled 'move' at the last moment - my choice was to dive in to the hedge or jump in to the path of an oncoming car, I chose the hedge!

What is it with these scooter thingies - do they not have to have a licence/road tax - don't the normal road rules apply to them? It should be required that they take a test on them before allowing them out in public. The golden oldies in this area ride them on the pavements, in the park and on the roads - and expect cars and pedestrians (including little kids) to just hop out of the way. Arghhhhhh!

Rant over

2frustrated 07-17-2006 09:01 AM

Yes it's the old mentality that at least you HAVE your legs to be able to move - but common courtesy is sorely lacking with people in those scooters. They move really fast too. I think top speed is 10mph which is dangerous on pavements. They should be restricted to shuffling old man pace

Heva2015 07-17-2006 10:47 AM

Going back to US sizes it can be a bit of a minefield..some stores I am the same size as in the UK but most I am one size down.

Sarah Ann 07-17-2006 11:23 AM

I did the aerobics class - OMG it got hot! For some reason they can't turn off the radiators which made it worse. The instructor said if its like it again next week she'll take us outside in to the gardens - I wouldn't mind but I can't see some of the old dears enjoying doing crunches for all the world to see. Fantastic workout though.

10mph? Is that all those mobility scooters? It seems a lot faster when your being mowed down by one.

Most of the people who have got them in this area CAN walk but because of the distances between home / pub / post office / village shop prefer not to. TBH, in this heat I can't blame them - but it would be nice if they were a little more considerate to other people. After all, its that generation that are always slagging off anyone younger for not having any manners.

trouble is like I said before, where my belly has overhung for years, I have discolouration:o at the top of my legs... so I am aiming for low legged or a skirt to hide that. I did find this one http://tinyurl.com/mhgyd which is nice. :) But look at the flippin' price! :barf:
I'll try the gym for a bit me thinks... before I attempt the swimming thing. :(

My thighs are just massive. :( I'm hoping my little gym stint will help with that. ;)

I'm ok with the leg thing, i'm pretty tall... 5'9... so that's cool... they're just really really fat! My weight seems to be slipping head down.. i'm still huge from belly downwards.

Thanks for the offer, i'll think about it when i've thought some more about whether I want to put on a brave face and go swimming...

kykaree 07-18-2006 01:26 AM

That's a lot like the suit I got in TK MAxx although mine has Addidas racing stripes at the side. The price looks reasonable to me, that's in Euros so that's around £28. If you were a little bunny you might be wanting a Roxy swimsuit at £40!!!!

I find unless you get lucky at TK Maxx or in a Debenhams sale, you get what you pay for with swimsuits.

I have that discolouration under my....ahem....boobs. So I know how you feel, but no one will notice, they'll be too busy looking at your pretty face!!!!

Just think how much more you and David Walliams will have in common once your swimming regularly.......maybe not quite doing a tandem swim across the Channel, but you never know ;)

peacock 2 07-18-2006 05:25 AM

Poor Sarah Ann!

My mum has one of those scooters but has only used it a few times. She is scared of it. She can only go out with my Dad and he walks really fast and she has little or no balance and feels she will tip up at any time. I am hoping she will go out more now the weather is good. Don't worry, you are quite safe up there in Yorkshire. She is 'Darn Sarf' - Near Bealieu to be exact, Southampton.

2frustrated 07-18-2006 06:11 AM

 Hello hello!

Well I got me to kickboxing, kickboxed 3, yes 3 little girls. That covers the cost of the hall :halfempty I was doing the class with them and I was sweating buckets by the end! They weren't. Obviously too hot for them to move. They were slacking big time, but it does take a lot of discipline in this heat to even THINK about exercising!

I'm off to me gym at lunch :D Nearly lunch time now! Spent the morning helping our American student get a train into London and sort out her mobile. I am now left with a crappy mobile that doesn't register much signal :tantrum: It's SO rubbish! I need to find a spare one that someone's not using! Been ringing round the parents and friends! :dizzy:

Training tonight, day two of the bonkers exercise week :D :hyper: Just gotta get my eating straight for 90% of the time and I should be well on my weigh ;)

kykaree 07-18-2006 06:51 AM

My dad is threatening to get a scooter, but he's really down sarf - Tasmania!!!! He'd be terrible. I nearly threw a party when his drivers licence got taken off him.

I went to the gym last night. Might try for a run tonight. I got a belt to stick my ventolin and bus pass in. I managed to lose my bus pass, and thought it was lost forever, but it turned up at the bus depot and they're posting it out! Yippee!

I need a holiday.

2frustrated 07-18-2006 06:57 AM

Careful of the heat tonight Ms Kykers ;) A guy at work said he was out running at 6pm and nearly passed out!

Drink plenty through the day today - I'm super-hydrating for kickboxing tonight! I'm on my 3rd liter already  I'm going to be doing my long run on Friday in the AIR CONDITIONED gym :D And I get out for my shorter ones at 6am, so it's not TOO bad, but still quite sticky!

kykaree 07-18-2006 07:38 AM

I'll just see how it goes, if it's too hot I won't run, just lie on the couch with the cat

I can't do the super hydrating thing. I wear a whole out in the carpet going to the loo every two minutes!

2frustrated 07-18-2006 08:56 AM

Yeah, I go to the downstairs loo (I'm upstairs) to get more exercise!

I'm such a grown-up! I'm having tuna pasta salad for lunch! 2 things I've never had before - cold tuna and cold pasta. It's yummy! Just whole wheat pasta, with a dribble of olive oil (that dribbled out of the tupperwear and all inside the carrier bag!) and albacore tuna with lettuce :T

Oh and I've been to the gym and shredded my shoulders and tris - they're all tingly! :D

hugmequick 07-18-2006 09:11 AM

ooooh!

yummy. Haven't had a pasta salad in ages. Might make a veggie kinda one up for myself to have at dinner time.

Well been tidying like a headless chicken all morning to get rid of the last few remaining boxes from moving in in may. And they are now all gone!! I can't believe how hot it is in here thought. Phew!

My lovely bf Jason isn't feeling too good today though as his UC is playing up quite a lot, maybe because of the heat. Feel really sorry for him.

Onward and upward

Loz x

peacock 2 07-18-2006 09:13 AM

I do like pasta salad but minus the tuna. I love veggie pasta sald! I put sweetcorn in mine and Marks low fat vinaigrette stuff.
