It's true, they ate dead mice!
I made scones with our eggs once and they turned out almost orange! They were tasty though :T |
Did they go for live mice too? The first time I saw one of our hens gobble down a live mouse that had the misfortune to run in front of her almost made me :barf:. I was like "SHE ATE THE MOUSE, SHE ATE THE MOUSE". Husband thought my reaction most hilarious. I'm a city girl, so sue me!.
You've got me thinking about scones now, cheese scones to be precise, mmmmmm! |
Oooh no, I never saw them eat live ones! Just the ones the cats left on the doorstep...
Ok enough scones, think about - grilled haddock with asparagus and wilted spinach and a few boiled new potatoes with a tiny piece of organic butter. Better? |
Mmmmmm!!! That sounds better than the scones!
I'm actually thinking about dinner tonight: grilled buffalo burgers with blue cheese and a salad (mixed baby greens, toms, cucumber, red onion, crumbled bleu cheese). Got the idea out of a past month's Shape magazine. They put a 1inch cube of bleu cheese in the middle of the burger before grilling it. I have some baby potatoes left in the cupboard, might roast some of those to go with. My mouth is watering . |
I'm exhausted I just made houmous  I only broke the one bowl! :p It stuck like mad in the blender I thought it would never come out. I just looked on fitday and one of the options was 'chickpeas stewed with pig's feet' :nono: :barf:
I had no tahini :( but the recipe in the diabetes cookbook didn't need it. |
The recipe for the stew I had last night was in the new Zest - I'll try to dig it out later. Tonight mum's away so I had leeks with a tofu and red pesto sauce (surprisingly yum) with steamed green beans and baked garlicy tomatoes. I can't imagine going back to junk food now - the stuff I eat is far too yum! I'm having the leeks again tomorrow but will probably make a mixed bean side salad to go with it to make it a bit different. I can't believe how domesticated I've got with all my cooking!
I ran 6k this morning, always a good start to the day to get a nice run. Tomorrow I'll probably do 8 - 9k, if it's not raining I'll go up the canal instead of on the treadmill, it's far nicer than running inside. |
so helen who's your prediction for wigans new coach? i mean what would this be 3rd coach in 12months?
|
As long as it isn't Karl Harrison I don't care!!! How about Andy Gregory? If you can keep him off the drinks for long enough he is a good coach and a Wigan legend!
|
is john kear still looking for a job? he took hull to the playoffs and they are mid table sounds like a gift to wigan.
|
I think Kear is being suggested as the most probable candidate. I think they will probably get him in until the end of the season and then look for another overrated Aussie or possibly McClennan the NZ coach.
|
Or Shaun McRae...I think he has always fancied that job but it isn't a great position to be in, not much chance of a top six. The only thing that worries me is that if they get a new coach they might go full speed at the cup because they know they won't get the league.

Hello, I just thought I would pop in and day hello again! :)
|
Hello hello!
Hi Alison - don't be a stranger ;) I made it to kickboxing last night. I'm still feeling all fat and bloated though, even though I ate really well yesterday. Tonight I am off to see the Ballet at the Royal Opera House, Ooooh get me! |
I'm thinking about joining a gym...
There's one along the road from work. I think it might get me weight training properly. It means I can jog along to gym at lunch, train Mon, Wed, Fri in the free weights area with the big boys and Tues and Thurs I can go and run/cycle/row whatever. I might even go Wednesday/Friday evenings... Ooooh the possiblities are endless! I'm going to walk along there and see how much and things. Although whether I can afford it on top of the flamin KB fees, we'll see! |
OMG - what's everyone talking about?????
Isn't it a GORGEOUS day? I hope it keeps like this for the weekend. Has anyone heard of a calorie free or low calorie maple syrup or similar? (Maybe its only available in the US.) My new flower bed has arrived - in kit form! We can't have a 'normal' garden because Fred digs up or chews virtually everything - and boy dog wee kills whats left. So we decided to put in a raised brick flower bed and use a mixture of plum and green slate (mixed together) for where we once used to have grass. DH calculated what we needed and its just arrived - a whole B&Q lorry load of stuff. I phoned DH to tell him its arrived and he's now told me that his holiday for this weekend has been cancelled.... again! Does anyone know how to build a double layer circular brick wall? |
