Our lasagne was lovely. And now serves 6 means serves 6. I cut it into six bits and have wrapped the rest up for lunches/dinners during the week.
Now oracles, do we think it's going to rain tomorrow morning or should I prepare to walk to work? I'm attempting to extracate the dh of the lounge and put him to bed, he and the cat are snoring, very attractive! |
I feel like I've been in a road traffic accident this morning! Just about everything aches except, possibly, my eye muscles. I am soooooo not looking forward to doing the HIIT stationary bike cardio in a few minutes.:stress:
DH got home on time. I asked him if he'd had anything for lunch and, bless him, he told me that because of eating out at his daughter's house, he'd decided on the healthy option - so he'd bought a couple of packs of the smoked salmon and cream cheese on wholemeal sandwiches from the M&S at Kings Cross Station. So much for the sunshine and fluffy little white clouds we're supposed to be having - its raining again. :( Kyk, I don't know how you manage with eating your dinner so close to going to bed. We finished our dinner at 9 last night and went to bed at 10. I felt very uncomfortable with going to bed on a full stomach.:barf: Ah, Frus, don't bother trying to freeze the CC/vanilla/sweetener mixture, it was revolting. |
I thought it might separate out a little bit... :chin:
Sarah - think of all the good that it's doing you - no pain, no gain! I'm doing ok eating wise, had a bit of a binge feeling yesterday, we had Baklawah in the house so needless to say we ate them all! Then we were nibbly, but I only had a slice of going-stale rye bread! Not too bad but could've been better! All in all, I declare the weekend a success! I'm also down 2lbs as of Saturday morning :D :D :D Teaching my tiddlers tonight. I don't wanna :tantrum: they're so away with the fairies I don't know why some of them bother! |
It tasted okay but looked a bit like baby sick when it defrosted. :barf:
Lots of pain - so there had better be lots of gain. The HIIT cardio on a stationary bike is AGONISING! It felt like my lungs were trying to leave the room without me when I was trying to hit that 10 :faint: but I actually felt better after I'd finished than I did before I started. I've just finished my walkies with the dogs - I'm needed a break from keeping them on their leads because of the adders so we went walking in the local lanes and finally found ourselves a nice canal (or it could be a river) to walk alongside. The only problem was Fred attempting to chase the :moo::moo: :moo: WELL DONE ON THE 2LBS!! I'm going to make the BFL 'rice pudding' for my lunch today. Should be interesting. |
Well done on hitting your 10 :cp:
I truly believe you will get AMAZING results on BfL keep at it! Do you weigh or have you got body fat scales?? I'd recommend a way of measuring your BF - the scales might go a bit funky because of the muscle and water retention in the muscles! I think you can get cheap electrical impedence ones in Argosy for about £30, that's where I got mine from. I'm not sure how accurate they are, but I know I've lost 2% bf. I'm going to do a small jogging circuit then kickbox in the car park! I'll see how many spectators I gather! I might need volunteers  |
The 'rice pudding' was lovely. A bit strange, but lovely. I added in some halved grapes and a little cinnamon.
I'm not going to do the food side of BfL - just the exercise part. I don't think I could survive on the BfL nutrition plan, its just too restrictive for me (although I don't mind borrowing some of their recipes). Kickboxing in the car park! I bet you DO draw a crowd. Do you work for a large business or somewhere small where everyone knows you? |
There's a grand total of 13 people here! Everyone knows me, but no-one came out to watch!
Yeah I think the BfL nutrition is a bit bonkers, just make sure you're getting enough protein for your lovely muscles - do you fitday? At least keep track of protein grams perhaps... |
Sarah - welcome to ONEderland! Feels great doesn't it? :).
I weighed myself today for the first time in two weeks and I've lost another 4lbs! I am so pleased. I upped my gym time to 5 x mornings a week instead of 4 and decreased my cals a little and it worked! :D So happy, this means 32lbs gone! YP1 I made your roasted veg soup yesterday for my lunches this week, tasted a little of it and it's super yummy. Brought some today so will let you know how it turned out. The only change I made was substituting sweet potato for swede, couldn't get any swede this weekend. |
I must get round to doing another batch of that, it seems odd doing soup in the oven but it is lovely. I'm meant to be making some butternut squash and chilli soup later so I will post the recipe if it's any good. I'm making some vegetable tarts at the moment so will eat those before starting cooking again.
I worried myself earlier. I was talking to the trainee about going to the yoga show and said there were some strange bendy people there, and he said "odd tofu eating people?" I then launched into a defence of tofu... |
Is it wrong to be excited that Runners World are doing marathon podcasts?!!!
|
Sarah Ann - I'm reading your posts with a lot of interest! Have just started reading the BFL book - am finding quite inspirational and motivational at the moment. Let it be said, however, that I will never be repeating 'Body for life' over and over in my head whilst I'm pumping weights. Ever! I've not reached the nutrition part yet, so I shall refrain from commenting.
Had a decent-ish day eating wise. Just finished off with a lovely stir fry, mmm. Tomorrow - need to drink loads more water. |
Morning. It's 6 o'clock and all is well! I was going to get up at 5 and walk, but felt too tired, so lay in bed a bit longer. I walked yesterday and then went to the gym in the afternoon. Today is one of my scheduled rest days.
I got my Runner's World, going to read it on the tram! I saw the podcasts, I don't have the technology, but it looks great! I'm used to eating late at night now. I don't like Col to eat alone, and really with my schedule there's not much option, by the time I get home it's at least 6.30 and by the time I fix some food, it's after 7 and often later. The one thing in it's defence though, is that if you eat your main meal a little later, your not snacking into the night. I saw my dopey trainer last night. He had read my training diary I keep at the gym. He just doesn't get it, poor old duck. We're having a repeat session on Saturday after yoga. I'll be nice and relaxed and hopefully less likely to be irritated by his one size fits all "training the fat woman" programme. If no joy I'll ask to switch trainers. I think there's only one fully trained Personal Trainer on the staff, and of course he's always amongst the muscle men and fit girlies. (Using The Streets definition of fit rather than the real definition of fit, if you know what I mean) I think I've waffled enough now!!! I'm very talkative of a morning! |
 Morning!
Life got in the way yesterday ;) My Mum and Dad have been to Paris and their train got into Waterloo at 5pm. They asked if I could meet them for dinner. So I left work early, barrelled down the M1 and met them at King's Cross at half 5. We had a lovely dinner in Pizza Express. I had a salad :faint: Probably still full of calories and I forgot to ask for it without dressing  Never mind, it was yummy! I didn't have a dessert and I didn't set off on a full-scale eating binge - I had a few pieces of Green & Blacks for pudding, then late at night - 11pm I had some rye bread. So I feel mighty chuffed with myself for being "good". My brain was still in the game... The calories went up slightly, but it'll all even out. Oh and I had to give teaching the annoying children a miss. Oh. What. A. Shame. Oh and even though I pledged to lift some weights I didn't because we didn't get home till late - but we did get some other exercise in ;) I get to kickbox tonight though, so all is good. Apart from I twinged my back this morning getting the flapjacks out of the freezer  My sciatica is having fun with my leg!! Ah well, hopefully a nice run at lunch will straighten it out and I won't kickbox in the car park at lunch just to give it a bit of a rest. |
Owwwwwww! Lower body and abs training this morning - then, because DH is at home today, we had brekkie and took the dogs straight out for a walk beside the river I found yesterday. BIG MISTAKE! The walk was much too quick after the training and I got stuck halfway over a style because my inner thigh muscles just would NOT let me lift my left leg up to get over - but I also couldn't lift the other leg to get back the other way. Unfortunately the style is by the side of a fairly busy lane and it must have looked great with me clutching both my inner thigh muscles and howling. DH just tutted and rolled his eyes.
 Hi Freya and Lynne. Lynne, I've never heard BfL being called ONEderland, is it because the program (if done properly) changes all of you? Freya, if you want any more info than I give here then please just PM me. The book IS inspirational but the training is quite agonising. I'm really struggling to drink the 10 glasses of water a day. I seem to get stuck at about 8 - and as for drinking ANOTHER glass on top for each time I have a coffee - well, forget it! Frus - what game was your brain still in? Isn't it strange how you can work out, lift weights, etc, yet something simple like getting flapjack out of the freezer can twinge your back? Maybe something somewhere is trying to tell you not to have the flapjacks. Kyk - I'm the same, I hate DH eating alone - and I also hate eating alone. I tend to cook 'better' foods when I'm cooking for both of us, if its just me then I'll go for instant type stuff like cottage cheese, oats and fruit or a mega salad with cottage cheese and ham. Actually, the stuff I eat alone is probably healthier but not quite so interesting. YP - what's a podcast? (New fangalled technology gets me every time!) |
ONEderland is when your weight starts with a One instead of two! Like your now 198 instead of 219 ;)
I'm being good with water. I'm normally really bad. I have been buying bottled water cheap at asda then drinking it and taking the same bottles the next day to work filled with no sugar squash. I'm getting there. Podcasting is when you use your ipod to take a direct feed like from a radio station. We're getting our organic veggies tonight!! Exciting!!! How sad is it to be excited about organic veg? I'm bringing my own snacks to work to avoid temptation. Apples, oatcakes etc. I'm having the day off formal exercise tonight. I'm going to make up some menus and plan some meals, and I will start bringing my lunch a couple of days a week, promise! |
