You're a designer - how about designing a doggy umberella :rofl: Thats got to be a better idea than those awful dog coats. There's one poor standard poodle we meet up with occasionally which wears a sort of Burberry check doggy version of a waterproof babygro. It always looks so depressed.

Clotted cream.......... has not passed my lips since oh May 2004??? something like that, when we went to Torquay. It's so lovely, but for something so rich and terribly calorific it's so moreish. Evil stuff.

I've had such a busy Easter, and tonight I am going to collect our box of organic veg, and try to get everything put away. I think a night off exercise is due, not had a day off since last Wednesday!

I'm throwing a quiet tantrum! :devil: (I don't want to upset the dogs.)

I just had my grocery order delivered from Tesco and they had subbed the Tesco own brand low fat Greek yoghurt and cottage cheese for the normal full fat stuff AND - unbelieveable this - they had put the bread / hot cross buns / sub rolls and muffins (all wholemeal) at the BOTTOM of a delivery tub and had put heavy stuff on top. The hot cross buns were flatter than a pancake - but that wasn't what I had the wobbly about - that was because, when I (nicely) pointed out the flat bread stuff to the young lad delivering, he just sighed and said 'And.....?'. Now, I know its probably not his personal fault BUT surely he represents the company and should be polite, apologise and/or tell me what will happen next. When I pointed this out to him he just said 'Nuffin to do wiv me' and left - taking most of my shopping with him. Arghhhh!

I've just come off the phone from their call centre and I've been told it will be re-delivered later on this afternoon and I'll be credited if they haven't got it in stock - but I still didn't get an apology. :mad:

:tantrum: Grrrr Tesco! I think it's good that they're re-sending it! I had a dessert at Weatherspoons that was still frozen in the middle.... Never got an apology for that either. I've come not to expect them! I just don't tip, or go mental at the "supervisors"

I once had a chicken Kiev in a very posh restaurant that was so cold in the middle that the butter hadn't melted and the chicken was pink - I made such a song and dance about it (salmonella, etc) that I got a replacement dish AND we got the meal for free. DH is no fun he hates me complaining about poor quality goods/bad service- his ex (aka the Raving Nutter) had 'temper management issues' and it brings back bad memories!

Jen (I'm confused here - too many Jens... ;) ) clotted cream is the heaviest cream you can get... so probably nearer to butter in fat content... Or lard! :lol: But it's heavenly, and soooooo creamy :T

I tend not to have to complain too loudly, DF usually does it for me, he's such a moaner sometimes! :rofl: But it's made me stand up for myself more!

And yes who'd've thought Weatherspoons don't have a patisserie chef on site! ;)

My tesco delivery man is always polite, write to the store and complain they might send you a voucher. ;)

Me and my sis went through a phase of complaining every time we took the train as they always sent a £10 voucher. :devil:

Janey I am so sorry about your friend. Don't feel bad about having a bit of a munch. Grief and shock make us do the strangest things. You won't be sixteen stone tomorrow the scales will be the same and you will be looking good for Rome.

I agree with Sarah no mother should outlive their child. My brother took his own life my mother never mentions it anymore but she is unwell, my father however is a different story. I don't think he will ever be the same, he still laughs and jokes but something has gone from him. God I am a maudlin old thing sometimes.

A good old cry and a cuddle from your man I think is what you need.

Hope the rest of you are all well. 2frustrated I think those hobnobs jumped into your basket!!

Well the first day back at work is over but hearing what some of you have been through recently (and not so recently, Michele) I feel ashamed of myself for feeling that way.

Janey - Kykaree's right, a year or so ago you might have started eating and then not stopped for weeks/days, at least now you can recognise what's happening and cut it short even if you can't stop it all together - that must be an improvement :hug:

Mother in law's coming for tea so I'm off to plonk some chicken in the oven - what am I going to use as a staple once bird flu hits :D

Maybe I'll become veggie - I like the idea but veggie cooking seems to take ages, with meat you can just bung it under the grill with some veggies and rice and it's done.

Don't fancy weighing on Thursday - didn't binge but just seemed to graze my way through the weekend.

Hello! I'm back! Amsterdam was fab, particularly the food, and despite eating lots of cake (usually an afternoon cake and dessert with my evening meal :o ) I'm still at 159.5 which will do me nicely :D

Just don't mention the rugby. I can't believe I actually paid to change my flight to an earlier flight back when they moved the kick off of yesterday's game. That was worth it...

Not too much exercise over the weekend, but I ran 8.75k on the treadmill this morning to get me back into it.

Don't get me thinking about clotted cream, I'm having enough trouble fending off my cravings for goats cheese, honey and walnut sandwiches. Mmm.

I think the flower market has corrupted me, I'm actually considering planting some veg in the garden and seeing what happens. Not that I want to grow all my own veg or anything hardcore like that, but it might make me a bit more interested in the state of the garden if I can actually make it something useful rather than just a chore. Worth a try at least!
