Operation convert my mother is going well. She LOVED the greek butter bean, tomato and feta stew with chargrilled veggies and green beans I persuaded her to make (which turned out as her doing the shopping and chopping an onion, then me doing the rest). I don't think I'll get her running though

I know why she gets obsessed with what I eat, it's just the way she slavishly copies me that annoys me because I know (and I tell her) that it doesn't work like that. If she eats what I eat she'll get lots of nutrients but she'll also get lots of calories that she'll gain weight from unless she burns them off like I do, and I can't see her doing the 7 mile run I did this morning before work! I do want her to lose weight, and I'm hoping that she'll see that you can have really yummy but healthy food instead of starving yourself, but I'd rather she did it her own way rather than copying half of what I do to the letter and ignoring the other half.

Hello all!

I skipped kickboxing last night because I was a bit tired, then went home and promptly stuffed myself to bursting. The biggest binge I've had in a long long time. I don't know why - I can't think what happened. I know I was low on motivation yesterday, maybe missing kickboxing made me feel like a failure

Anyway, clean slate today (I say this every day!) and I got up at 6:20 and lifted weights Had bacon and egg for breakfast (healthy bacon and dry fried egg), got lovely healthy, filling stuff for today, all planned out already, all fitdayed and it comes in at a reasonable number too!

Got more dresses to try at lunchtime, then a run before kickboxing, then kickboxing, then I must go home and batch bake some more pancakes - my egg whites are open and they're going to go off if I don't do something with them soon! Oh I remembered I forgot eggs at the shop this morning! Damn! I'll just have to get some later!

Frus - Where do you get your egg whites?

I'm sending you some

Okay - what's 'healthy' bacon? I have been fantasising about bacon and eggs for WEEKS and the thought of it is making me

YP - Could you put up the recipe for the feta, butterbean and tomato casserole - sounds very Maybe your Mum looks at what you have achieved and thinks that your way is the only successful way, which is why she copies you. She probably needs help and guidance - perhaps you could help her work out a nutrition and exercise plan of her own.

There's something going on with me - I was in bed and asleep by 9 last night and I slept through until 8 this morning. I think maybe I'm starting a cold because I've got the shivers. I still managed my upper body WO - and the dogs don't understand me feeling under the weather so I had to walk them in this biting wind with very painful rain in it. The wind's so strong that my big eBay umberella turned inside out and then the struts buckled

English Nature have put up big signs at the various entrances to the Moors warning about not touching any dead birds and giving a phone number for them to be reported to. Scary.

I get my whites from myprotein.co.uk but I think they're about as expensive as buying ordinary eggs and chucking the yolks - about £4 for 36 whites - that's a quid a dozen isn't it? Ok marginally cheaper - I know eggs USED to be a quid a dozen.... Damn Tesco!

Healthy bacon - smoked bacon medallions, just the middle bit of back bacon, and Tesco healthy eating range has reduced salt in it too. They're 26 kcals a slice and it's proper bacon too! Just without the rind.

Me thinks this bird flu thingy is going to be as scare-mongery and appallingly disorganised as the foot and mouth "epidemic".

Off to try more dresses soon! Weeeeeeeeeeeee! I want chocolate

I hated foot and mouth, couldn't go anywhere. I remember walking alllll the way to the abbey and when I got there it said no entry due to f&m. Now I'm telling the dogs not to eat birds. They like anything they find on the beach...dead birds dead sheep...

Ah! I get my eggs from a neighbour who has happy chickens - well, they're happy but the rest of us are a bit off when they pursue their favourite hobby of walking along in the middle of the road in front of cars - she charges 80p per dozen. I just feel guilty chucking away all the yolks from birds that I know - I thought that if I didn't know the chickens then I wouldn't feel so bad about throwing away the yolks.... okay - yes, I know I'm nuts.

I shall look for that bacon and add some to next week's order. It'll give me something to look forward to!

This week's order has just arrived - is there a national shortage of frozen blueberries and grapes? There were both subbed last week from Sainsbury and again this week from Tesco. Grrrrrr!!!!!!

Just ordered it - and some of the smoked turkey bacon stuff - I thought that would go well with the oat and cottage cheese pancakes - with scrambled egg/whites.

Oooh nice, I can't get on with turkey bacon, I find it's very very salty.

Back from wedding dresses. They were all REALLY PANTS! The best one I saw was lacey and sparkly... Ring any bells? The lace up back one was ok.. a bit plain. I think I prefer the sparkly one, after all someone over in the motorcycle chicks bit said, it's sparkly like me!

In all the photos I look really really podgy. Maybe because the dresses were a bit small or maybe because the lighting was bad - but ick! Podge podge everywhere! Maybe I shouldn't have eaten those Maltesers to take away the wedding dress stress!

but the yolks from "pet" chickens are the nicest because they're free range and eat dead mice and poo and grass and things... At least our chickens did... I miss my chickies! We got rats eating the darn eggs though

What does everyone do with their left over yolks? I've made loads of mayo for DH and I've given some to the dogs - there's just so many of them!

I also get powdered egg whites from Supercook, they're ok in scrambly eggs or something that you can mix it in with (you can add water to them to make "proper" egg white but I've never had much success!)

Check out the mighty fruit bowl!

Is that on your desk at work? Thats GREAT!

I'll just keep feeding the egg yolks to the dogs - I hope I don't give them a cholesterol problem!

Yeah I just went to Tesco this morning! It kinda happened that I grabbed some apples, since the ones we have are cack, then I saw the pears and I needed some bananas too... They were all sitting on my desk when the other lady in the office brought me a big basket to put it all in! It's a work of art now!

Nicest, because they eat dead mice and poo? Um, ok.

I throw away my yolks, I'd love to bake them into a nice cake ala Nigella because they are so rich and yellow looking. Sometimes I use the yolk in my protein pancake but most of the time, it's destined for the bin.

I guess I could give it to our dog, he loves eggs. Infact, I think we lose more eggs to him than to rats!
