I'm up too, and ready for swimming, the pool opens at 8 and it's a 15 minute walk in the rain, then it's farmers market, woo hoo!!!
I'm really tired today, despite having a long sleep yesterday in the afternoon and a full nights sleep last night. I think I must be hibernating. We had a wee bit of snow yesterday, it was very fleeting though and had melted within an hour. |
I'd love to go swimming but the nearest pool which is tiny and about 4 miles away only has adults only swimming from 12 to 1 on weekdays. The rest of the time you fight for space with little boys **** bent on bombing everyone.
Are you eating enough calories? I used to diet on 1000 cals/day and I was sleepy all the time. |
I think I am I'm around 1500 - 1800 a day. So I don't think it's that. I think its probably asthma related. I was just coming right and then they locked me in a room for a meeting, which had the new carpet in (that was Friday night) and I had another big attack - and now its unstable again. One step forward two steps back. So now I am congested and coughing again, and that tires me. Not enough good quality air getting in. The swimming today will help.
It'll be full of irresponsible, selfish adults until 9 then half an hour of relative piece, then brat city after 10. |
Ick about your asthma kykers - can't you sue em or something!? :?: ;)
Veg - I didn't mean that about your wonderful forum information, I meant did anyone really want to know what  scale is showing me at the moment? We are going for a walk in the city and it's raining like billy-o here too! :tantrum: Oooh farmer's market, I think I missed Borough market yesterday :( We went to Tesco, does that count?? I'm up cos I can't sleep since we went to bed early but DF is snoring like a good 'un! I thought I might as well come on here and say hello! |
I've just got back from an hour and a half walkies. I gave up when I got so wet my jeans wouldn't slip up and down over my knees with each step and my trainers had filled up with water so much that I was making squelch, squelch noises. When I took my trainers off I found my feet have gone black because I had a brand new pair of socks on and the dye has run. I also forgot to do the zip up on my jacket pockets so they filled up with water and my mobile phone is now a gonner. :(
I've left the dogs sitting in front of a log fire gently steaming and filling the house with the smell of soggy doggy - lovely! I'm also trying to work out why they have to wait until we get IN the house before they shake and why they only shake in whichever room has been newly decorated. I'm sure George had a malicious gleam in his eye when he shook. :dizzy: Frus - YES - we want to know what your scales are showing - its lovely to know that someone is being successful. It gives us hope for our own future success. :carrot: kykaree - I hope the swimming helped your breathing. I've never suffered from it and I can't imagine how awful it must be not to be able to catch your breath. |
Sarah - my back is better, losing a few pounds seemed to help it. I do have a pain in my hip now though  I feel a bit rubbish though am on half strength anti d's as am coming off them feel all :halfempty
|
{{{{{{{{ Veggie }}}}}}}}} Well done you on coming off the anti d's. That is SO not an easy thing to do.
The hip thing must be catching - I've made mine lots worse today by dusting off the exercise bike I was using to hang ironing on in the spare room. I pedalled like mad for 30 mins and then slid off and almost feel over when I tried to walk. My hip feels like its on fire now!!!!! :ebike: |
Ooh 'eck  we must all have this hip 'thing' mines the right one which one is yours? X-rays came back clear but I still say its arthritic :( aches like a S-O-B all the time :rollpin: funny thing is though that mine feels better when i'm active :dunno: told Doc and she said that Arthritis doctor told her that that is the best treatment for it..LOSE WEIGHT  and get walking.
|
:tantrum: :tantrum: Its at it again :rollpin: "this post is a duplicate post of a post etc" :blah: :blah: :blah: IT IS'NT  annoying thing is being taken to the first page instead of the current one :(
|
I think you're making it up :p  it has never happened to meeeeeeeeeeeeeee. :snooty:

The swimming helped and I am off work tomorrow and the next day on annual leave, going in Wednesday then off for three days. The swimming really helped this morning, and I had a lovely time in the pool. I still had a long sleep this afternoon. I'm not overly worried, my body is just doing what it needs to get better. I am trying to get into see the doctor this week. I might contemplate going on a short course of steroids, to try and get things under control before I start training for this run. I am anxious about running whilst it's so unstable. Veggie have you tried anything natural for your depression? I used to get fairly bad anxiety followed by bouts of depression and found Rescue Remedy really helpful, they sell it at pharmacies, Boots, Superdrug, holland and Barratt, it should be around £3 to £4 a bottle. I had to come off Zoloft in a hurry as it gave me bad nausea and vomiting, and found the Rescue Remedy just as effective. Then I started medicating depression with choclate and cake :p  :sp: Not recommended! :grouphug: Hope we all start feeling better this week!!!! Asthma, hips, backs, we sound like the walking wounded!!! I hearby nominate frus and YP as group nurses! :dizzy: |
I am just eating a lovely fruit salad, Banana, Raspberries, Strawberries, Pear and peach... and it's deeelicious.
Who needs chocolate! Not me, no sir! :nose: :lol3: |
Hi girls, hope all of your hips and bits and breathing is better soon.
Kyk, my daughter is an asthmatic, she's having a rough weekend here at the moment. It's because it's so dry here though, we've not had any rain in 116 days... a record by all accounts. I'm not complaining though, we had 80 degrees today and it was beautiful. Meanwhile, Darling hubs is in connecticut in 2 foot of snow that came down today, blizzard conditions...he enjoyed it though, watched it through his window in his suite at the hotel he's staying in :) I'm doing ok-ish with my plan. I've enrolled a friend from work to attend curves with me, so now if I feel like missing a day, guilt will get the better of me with my excuses that are not really good enough, as I will feel I'm letting her down... and I can't do that :) I'm not really that horrid. I actually took my kids out to lunch today, it was wonderful, I had a chicken sandwich... not exactly low fat, but I don't know the exact points, so I won't worry about it...it was just wonderful spending time together with them. Our lives are all so hectic right now, we hardly see one another. I have a mouse!!! EEEEEEK! I found mouse droppings on the computer desk this morning... it's now had a thorough cleaning and there's a mouse trap situated behind the monitor. I haven't actually seen Mickey... but Hannah has, two friends have, and Dave thought he saw him a few weeks ago, before he left. His left behind droppings were the last straw... he has to go...I know if I do see him, I'll have a moment of being a big girls blouse, so wish me luck for catching him. Everyone have a great week... I shall...keep up the good work all :) |
The hot weather doesn't like me either. Hot and humid, hot and dry, they both set me off. I am much better in the cold. It's this stupid carpet at work, ridiculous! But a lot of others are now complaining, so that's good. The management are at a loss as to what to do with me, but they're trying their best!
I'm off work today, annual leave, and have gotten up at 6.15 am still, to go to the gym and swimming. I'm trying to get my front crawl really strong, in preparation for a swimming holiday next year. And possibly triathlon training in 2007/8 I need to relearn how to ride a bike first!!!! I've been enjoying the limpics, been watching those crazy chaps on the luge, and the figure skating, ski jumping, and some snowboarding. |
 Hello all! What a bunch of crocks in the UK chicks ;)
I'm just aching with DOMS but I'm sure it'll go after I beat the :censored: outta something tonight! Oooh a triathlon miss K, lovely! :D I spent the whole of Saturday morning kickboxing in one way or another - oh and shopping! I had a private lesson, helped out with the kiddies lesson, then went shopping while the really horrid guy had his own private lesson, then I came back and did some side kicks and helped with another private lesson :spin: :hyper: I had a really great time though! :D Back to the grind today - I really didn't want to come in today but I'm here and I'll live! I really need to get my arse in gear - I'm feeling slightly lazy :o |
I've just had a lovely banana, strawberry and chocolate protein smoothie. I did a good cardio workout and had a nice long swim. Was a good girl and did plenty of front crawl. My aim is to swim a mile just front crawl and not slipping into breast stroke. I think that's a bit of a way off, but I'll keep plugging away at it.
My asthma is very happy today. It likes the pool!!!! Your legs must be like jelly after all that kickboxing Ms Frus!!! |

Cat - Mine's the right hip as well and I'm getting an ache in the right shoulder and elbow at the moment. (Not sure why!) It seems to me that the 'fitter' I get the more things ache. Drumroll...... :woo: I just had a personal non scale victory - I met up with a friend for my walk and by the time I got home I had walked NEARLY SEVENTEEN miles without stopping!!! :faint: I left home at 7.20 and didn't get back until 11.50 so it was 4 and a half hours which means I averaged 3.77 miles per hour which isn't bad for a chubby 50 year old over the Moors. The dogs have crashed out - I can hear both of them snoring - but I still feel full of energy (it'll probably catch up with me soon!) :running: I think it went so well because I was walking with someone else whose natural pace is about the same as mine and her dogs are very active and didn't slow us down at all. Its sad that her and I can't meet up to walk together each day but we are going to try and aim for once a week. :carrot: Britinnj, good luck with the mouse - yuck! :fr: |
17 miles!!!!!! Wowee!!!! You could nearly walk to Ramsbottom!!! ;)
I'm not used to being off in the middle of the day, I think I miss work!!!!! Scary thought!!!! |
No mouse in trap this morning... he must have seen me setting the traps... hopefully he'll get hungry while I'm at work today and the house is quiet and still...
A triathalon Ky, well done to you for even thinking about it. I'm sure learning to ride a bike again will be fine, don't forget the old saying, they say once you've done it, you'll never forget. I haven't ridden a bike in a few years but I love it. I like the more padded seats though and unfortunately, my daughter's bike doesn't have one... just the normal razor blade you are supposed to sit on. I know I have a nioce bit of padding on my bum, so shouldn't need it on a seat, but the razor blade doesn't do it for me! How's your razor blade stationary bike doing Cathy? Sarah, your walk sounds marvellous...17 miles though! Good Lord! I think I'd have been laid down with the dogs snoring as well. Well done to you! :) Frus, your kickboxing sounds fab... you'll have to video yourself and send us all a link to watch, maybe it would motivate us into becoming NORMAL like yourself :) |
Better than that - Frus's Kickboxing exercise video! I could make millions!
Been for a trip out in the car, 4 hours :tired: I fell asleep on the way back  Off kickboxing again tonight. I was going to practise side kicks at lunch but I've only just got back and it's the end of lunch. I could do some, but I'm feeling sleepy after my car nap! I'll do some in class tonight. |
OMG.... no........ the mad woman has just rung to ask if I want to go walking tomorrow. I don't know how to tell George and Fred that I've said yes. :dizzy:
Okay, I don't want to seem dim, but whats a triathlon? Whatever it is it sounds gruelling - go for it Ky! We'll all monitor your training and give you lots of words of advice. ;) BritInNJ - You can get rid of little mousey visitors by keeping a rat as a pet. Apparently mice hate rats. Personally I think I'd prefer the mouse - or you could borrow a neighbour's cat and get rid of him the natural way. I still haven't had a rest since my walk - I've been doing cleaning and cooking and stuff - weird - I thought I'd be exhausted but I'm not...... yet. No doubt I shall be totally wiped out just when it gets to the clearing up after dinner though. :D |
 Good for you with all the walking!
Triathlon - biking running and swimming a race-type thing! Sounds fun! [RANT] Just had an e-mail from DF that he wants to DO SOMETHING (read "go out") when I get in from kickboxing. :yikes: Does a girl not get a rest?? He took me out last night when I was tired out and grumpy since I didn't get my lie in! I REALLY don't want to go out tonight :tantrum: what is it with his wanderlust?? Oh yeah and, "It's not his fault that I'm going to kickboxing" no... and it's not my fault he's had a boring day! :rollpin: I need sleep  :tired: [/RANT] |
Triathlon sounds fun? Sounds more like painful to me. :dizzy:
Don't complain about DF wanting to take you out! Most women get P'd off that their menfolk don't take them out ENOUGH! The other nice thing is that its YOU he wants to go out with and not his mates. How about suggesting going to the cinema - then you can catch a nap during the main feature. ;) |
 Yeah I know - I just want to sleep though! I'm grumpy and risking over training if I don't sleep... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
We went out yesterday and we're going out Wednesday!! |
Perhaps you could hire him out when you don't want him???! He would probably be in good demand tomorrow.........
|
Exercise bike is ont tuther side of the computer Chris  ( :sssh: with some clothes piled on it  ) I have'nt been on that thing for months :dunno: I should drag it around here and try it again seeing as I spend so much time online  Why oh why can't I find any motivation :?: I keep saying i'll do this and then go to the mall and buy chocolate and lager instead  Are you looking forward to moving? you'd better get rid of Mickey otherwise he might jump in a packing crate and come with you  I hate mice too..don't get any now because I found out how they got in and blocked the entrance  but when I did use to catch them in traps i'd just shovel up the whole thing and throw it out..unless I could get hubby to dispose of it for me ;) you would'nt catch me using the same trap twice :p
Veggie, I have chronic anxiety/panic attacks and was suffering terribly when I got back from England  I had one at work a couple of weeks ago and almost considered giving up my job  when the store closes we stay behind an hour to put things back where they belong and generally tidy up but one night when the manager locked us in I panicked and thought "I'm trapped in here" it was awful and now I dread working the closing shift in case it happens again :( I've been taking 5HTP for the last couple of weeks and it really has helped i've got some of that rescue remedy too but I could drink the whole bottle and that would'nt help  hope you feel more 'normal' soon ;) Sarah Ann, 17mls!!! :bravo: my troubles started in my shoulder (after a car crash) and then moved down to my hip and knee :rollpin:  Frus, :coach: Less of the old!! :rollpin: and stop sounding like an old woman yourself and get out with your DH  you can sleep when you're dead he-he. I got none last night cuz of the :censored: rain and listening to hubby snoring his head off on one side of me and the gutter overflowing on the other side  and it has'nt killed me :tired: yet! I'm going to convince myself to either do 20 mins of Pilates or that free DVD I got :dunno: or both :carrot: i've got to start doing something  you lot are showing me up  |
Why were you locked in? That does sound scary, take your phone with you.
|
Hola! I'm back! I'm also remarkably cheery considering I got in at 4.30am and then got up at 6 to go to the gym and run 8k :faint:
I decided that the difference between an hour and a half in bed and two and a half hours wouldn't make much difference, and that the time would be better spent doing something that would wake me up. It did seem to work, although I'll be having an early night tonight I think! I had a fab time, and I'll be posting lots of piccies on my blog once I get them off the camera. What is most odd though is that for the first time ever, on any holiday or weekend away, I came back lighter than I went, and trousers that fit last week now come off without unbuttoning them :dizzy: That's not meant to happen on holiday! I didn't get round to eating much because I was so busy, but it's still very strange. I'm a little confused... I wish I could go on short breaks every weekend, I feel so much chirpier today than last week, even though I only had an hour and a halfs sleep last night and three hours on Friday. |
Welcome back oh and words fail me!
Quote:
:yikes: Scary. |
yay!!! You're back!!! Glad you had a fab time!!! You're just scary though, losing weight on holiday and being cheery despite getting up at stupid o'clock!!!
|
They always lock us in Veggie..they're in with us  its not like they go home and lock us in  they just get all the customers out at closing time and then lock the doors while we finish up. It just bothers me that the door is locked and we can't get out :fr: without busting through a fire exit or waiting for the manager to unlock the door and let us go
YP..i've been up all night too but I have'nt bothered to run 8k  can't wait to see your pics :D |
Own up, who is it??? Someone has changed my menstrual cycle, and you are the only group of girls I am hanging out with recently. All my friends at the pool are waaaaaaay post menopause, so it's not them!
No period pains, no PMS (Col said I am my usual grumpy self nothing unusual!?) and this morning, whacko, Aunt Flo arrives. I'm still going to the gym and still swimming, but I ain't happy! Happy Valentine's Day all!!!! |
Er... wasn't me
I agree with everyone else - YP you're just bonkers! Ok little DF story for you - since I was ranting about him wanting to go out and I was :tired: I felt guilty for going to my kickboxing class, I was ranting at him in my head all the way there, I was really narked about having to go out when all I wanted to do was go home and cook my dinners for the week and go to bed! Sooooooo I went kickboxing and had a really crappy class. All the brats were REALLY misbehaving no matter how many press ups I dished out! Got home in a bad mood preparing for a disgruntled DF because I didn't want to go out. Well I got in, and he's washing up :D and he's been baking! He made me a shortcake heart with a "J for Jen" on it! Aww bless him! :D And I was really trying hard not to be grumpy because I knew I needed food! So bless him for washing up and making me cake! :D  And we didn't go out and I made my chicken for the week and I was asleep by 10pm! Hooray! All is happy in the frus household again! Got kickboxing tonight (I'm so romantic!) and trying to eat as clean as possible since the pepperoni pizza has got me in camel mode! Oh and just for the record - I bought DF "Be Mine" socks, a card with an orangutan and a BIG box of Dairy Box choccies... I have. :chin: nothing. Yet. We don't do valentine's and if it lets me go kickboxing then I'll forfeit cards and choccies! |
Nope, Ky, t'weren't me, either! :?: Could it be the weight loss????
Ahhh, Frus, what a sweetie your DF is! I've got one like that, too. :val2: My favourite flowers are the big deep yellow daffodils and those very dark blue irises (thats what I had as my wedding flowers) and I got home from my walk to find my neighbour pacing up and down waiting for me to come home before she could go to work because she had taken in a HUGE bouquet of them and a gorgeous basket of fruit (instead of choccies) - romance is not dead! My neighbour is now feeling very hard done by because my flowers reminded her that her other half never buys her anything. If he remembers at all he just gives her a tenner. :D As you can probably tell I'm not feeling very charitable towards her at the moment this is because, after saving hard for two years, we finally completely renovated our kitchen last year - it was lovely to see two years worth of planning and designing come together - and she's just had theirs done virtually identical to ours. She has bought all the same appliances, decorated in the same colours, even bought the same accessories!! Kevin keeps telling me to chill out about it because (he says) immitation is the sincerest form of flattery. My personal opinion about the whole thing is :censored: :tape: :censored: :tape: :censored: Poor dogs - well, poor George - he was not in the mood for a walk today (Fred was okay). I went to put on George's lead and he went and sat facing in to the corner of his bedroom (his doggy version of sulking). He finally agreed to come out for a walk but after an hour he kept trying to walk backwards in front of me while looking me in the eyes - his version of telling me he's had enough and wants to go home. I think that yesterday's walk was maybe too much for him. :running: |
I have no idea why my cycle is haywire, but I will find the person responsible!!! LOL. It was a girl at work last time!!! Mine is very sensitive to other people. I would blame my friend Ann, but she is 68, so it's not her!!!!
I had a great swim this morning, I did 45 minutes cardio as well, and did it hard, it was great, and no wheezing!!!! And cute red head gym instructor was there and we had a nice chat, so that made for a pleasant morning. Poor George, no wonder he didn't want to go for a walk, after your hike yesterday! I'm off to aquaerobics this afternoon, with the aforementioned Ann, who at her age is a size 12 and absolutely gorgeous, though she has no idea. I'm trying to find her a boyfriend, but not having much luck, no one meets our high standards!!! Or if they do, they're 30 years too young LOL |
Look at all you romancers - :val1:
 Sarah - your neighbour had her just desserts then ;) Your dogs need some cardio training! I need some of this :dust: And some of this :yoga: - nice smilies for us for V-day! :D |
:belly: I want to do some of this!!!
I want a swimming smiley!! Soon be time to go to aqua with the oldies!!! My Col couldn't bake to save his life!!! I am most impressed with Mr Frus' efforts! Do I really have to go to work tomorrow??? :?: |
Ky - you can get a belly dancing work out video/DVD. I saw one the other day somewhere (online) I'll try and find it again for you.
|
I want to do a class so I have an excuse to get pretty shiny things to wear!!! I have a sequin addiction ;) Perhaps in the latter half of the year as part of my new years resolution to try at least one new exercise every month. I am doing well so far with this, I have tried lots of new things this year already!!!
I am notoriously bad at videos, I tend to wander off, or step on the cat, or dance into the fireplace. I need a gym or class environment to keep me focussed. Even then I end up chatting to people, or window shopping at boys!!! I'm dreadful!!! My justification is that Colin works for Daily Sport and part of his job is looking at pictures of naked ladies all day, so if he can look, so can I, the only thing is, he gets paid for it!!!!! |
Oooh can I come and bellydance too?
I want a kickboxing smiley! I've got one for MSN - it rocks! :D |
