impossible princess 02-21-2006 02:30 PM

gutted everything I want to watch is on tonight. Figure skating and loads of stuff on c4 all at the same time and I don't have a VCR

Dippy Chip 02-21-2006 04:55 PM

Frus, you're such a star! That little girl looked so happy!

Mmmm, everything is better in pale pink!

Janey

kykaree 02-21-2006 05:37 PM

That's the one her dad made, frus' will be much better!! But still pink!!!! I was always a blue fairy in ballet :( You were meant to become a yellow and then a pink with each birthday, but I was so hopeless, I was a blue fairy for three years until I finally managed to convince my parents that I was never going to be the next Fonteyn, and switched to torturing cats, I mean playing the violin instead. I was much better at that.

I was only pretend nagging at you Impossible Princess ;)

YP your eating habits get weirder by the day! I'm not sure whether I like Quinoa or not!!! :dizzy: I have it occasionally, Col hates it. My mum used to buy puffed Quinoa, kinda like rice crispies. It was awful.

I'm bored, Col is at pool, figure skating is over, and there's no one here to play with :(

veggie 02-21-2006 06:39 PM

I watched Gordon Ramsay, was quite good the chef in the restaurant he was helping was a drinker and collapsed. :( He (the chef) was on Richard and Judy and said he used to drink 4 bottles of vodka a day or something! Is that possible?

Hehe! Ello! ;)

Na, decided I'm gonna tell him my car cost too much to get through the MOT so i'm brassic. I am going cinema though. Andrew has decided he will go with me (asked him originally), to see FD3! :carrot: But let's see if he pulls out last minute, which is Andrew!
Better watch what I say now you're looking in hadn't I?!:D

Wow... 4 bottles a day.:ziplip:

veggie 02-21-2006 08:18 PM

Homersmummy 02-21-2006 08:44 PM

Yeah me too! Sod the lot of um. Grrr! ;)

veggie 02-21-2006 08:51 PM

Homersmummy - Have you been to see Little Britain tonight then? ;)

Homersmummy 02-21-2006 08:55 PM

Yes indeed. Going again tomorrow too. :)

Homersmummy 02-22-2006 09:48 AM

Oh dear. Weigh in tomorrow. *shudders*

veggie 02-22-2006 10:35 AM

You'll be fine. :cheer: :goodscale

YP1 02-22-2006 01:46 PM

More quinoa tonight (finishing off my delicious concoction from last night). I quite like it, it was either quinoa or cous cous for the recipe so I don't think it made too much difference.

Had a meeting with a nice Czech blokey this afternoon. Far nicer than most of our clients! Then ended up going to pick my boss's son up from nursery (with her, I wasn't kidnapping him!) on the way home which annoyed me a bit because it was easier for her but meant I got back to the office later than I would have done (after 5) than I would have done if we'd gone straight back.

I have to have a new photo taken at work for marketing stuff, the photo they have at the moment is about a year old and my boss has vetoed me using it!

Sarah Ann 02-22-2006 02:01 PM

I finally managed to get to my computer. We had the new bathroom put in today and the first thing they did was tell me to turn off the 'puter in case they needed to turn off the electricity.

Eating and exercise all went a bit wrong. It was supposed to be a low cal day but because I didn't have any electricity at lunch time I had to have what was available in the fridge BUT, because Fred wouldn't stop growling at the plumbers, I took them out for a 13 mile walk in the sleet and piercing wind - and he still growled at them when we got back. I don't understand why he was growling - it is just so not like Fred, he's usually a scaredycat who hides behind me or George. :dizzy:

They are finally gone and the new bathroom stuff looks great - now Kevin has got to tile and decorate the inbetween bits.

I've now had quinoa twice - the first time I just cooked it without toasting it first and I hated it - the second time I dryfried it for a couple of minutes and it made all the difference, it gave it a lovely nutty flavour.

GASP, SHOCK - Kevin actually admitted tonight that he enjoyed the lentil curry side dish I made to go with our spicy fish on spinach and brown basmati rice! I might convert him to beans and stuff yet.

veggie 02-22-2006 02:25 PM

I've had cous cous every day since Sunday as I made so much of it.

I don't like beans and stuff they look funny :p I love houmous though but hate chickpeas  I refuse to believe those funny looking things are in lovely houmous. Mmm houmous. :T

2frustrated 02-22-2006 02:44 PM

:dizzy: Eeeeeh Veggie you're a one!

I'm battling the blues tonight! I just CAN'T BE BOTHERED! I've done some arm weights that you'd think would make me feel good, but no! I do have Wol & Grom on DVD so I might curl up with that after a decent soak and chill out. I'm so frustrated that I don't know WHY I'm blue! Gah! If the cat had died, I'd at least have a reason!

I was feeling highly caffeinated this afternoon and was looking forward to coming home to a mega workout, but after I'd had my dinner I was so demotivated since the house is FREEZING and DF is staying out at the pub. :( I did some weights anyway, just not the ones I'd planned

Sarah Ann 02-22-2006 03:39 PM

I love beans - butterbeans are my favourite and I like chickpeas as long as they are properly cooked, a lot of the tinned ones are a bit undercooked and come up dry tasting. Homemade houmous is great and dead easy to make (works out a LOT cheaper than the shop bought).

I've given up with the idea of the exercise bike today - there's too much stuff in the way to get to it ... maybe tomorrow.

cat90 02-22-2006 03:41 PM

Awww never mind Frus  at least you did something :)

I'm revamping my gym (again  ) to make more room so I can do my exercise vid's up here (sometime :dunno: ) I decided to put my bike in front of the computer so i'd at least peddle away while i'm yapping to you :gossip: well..off I go and I thought "This thing is clunking a bit" then clunk the :censored: chain came off it  so i've got that in bits now  I thought I was going to have to send for Frus for a minute but I can manage I just need to adjust the front wheel to tighten the chain ;) I need to get on it too..the easter eggs are ganging up on me and I bought a six pk of caramel/creme eggs  had two last night and FOUR this morning  so i'd better get peddaling :stress:

cat90 02-22-2006 04:57 PM

Huh  that 'fix' turned into a major overhaul  the thing has been neglected for so long that the pedals were all sloppy  of course it was a reverse thread so instead of tightening it up I was undoing it and the bearings were coming out  but..with a minimum of tools (that :censored: husband of mine always takes them and never puts them back :tantrum: ) I managed to fix it :cheer: so i'm here :ebike: peddaling away :carrot: I stink of WD40 though

YP1 02-22-2006 04:58 PM

I love beans, I barely go through a day without them. And chickpeas - they were in my lovely quinoa stuff tonight too.

But, in a major development on the bean front, I got through an entire yoga session without farting :D There's a first time for everything :o And I did my best shoulder stand yet :D

I'm currently getting very excited about a load of organic/veggie/wholefood shops and cafes I've found in the city centre. I guess they've always been there (or since I've been in Leeds) but I've never really noticed them. Which is a little embarassing as one is opposite where I get off the bus and one is opposite where I get back on it... Anyway, I seem to be turning more and more vegetarian by the week, and I like the idea of getting fresh, locally grown, organic veg so I'm going to spend some time checking them all out to see which one is nicest. I'm also fanatically trying to plan my eating for the weekend - not calorie wise but just trying to get the most nutritious form of carb loading for my run that I can come up with and then a lovely "treat feast" for when I've finished of stuff that I wouldn't usually have but is still fairly healthy, maybe even a meal out at a local moroccan place I've been fancying for a while an which has a three course meal offer on Sundays.

Homersmummy 02-22-2006 08:34 PM

I feel floaty light.

I luff that man!
(David Walliams from Little Britain, if you wondered! ;) I met him tonight and he hugged me twice... BLESS!)

Homersmummy 02-22-2006 08:56 PM

OH yeah. David couldn't have been nicer! Well, he could've but it would involve taking me back to his hotel room! ;)

It was amazing. And to think I wasn't going to bother after the strop he had on last time! :D

kykaree 02-23-2006 01:17 AM

I'm about to dash out to work. I had a great run yesterday 45 minute, 3 miles. I have discovered that running (well jogging) at 5 miles an hour is easier than 4.7!! I hope to increase my running sessions to an hour, then work on pace. It's more endurance that I am concerned about at the moment. I am suprised how much fun I am having running. I'll remember that feeling when it just feels like hard work.

I adore beans, and little chickpeas, they're lovely. And cheap!!! I haven't seen many veggie or organic places in Manchester. i think they are in some of the trendier suburbs, not out here though!!! Meat city up in t'hills!!!

Frus, I hope your funk lifts soon. I have those times too, when I just feel rotten and unmotivated. Blame the weather, once it warms up a bit, I am sure you'll feel better.

Oh and last night after my run I had a spa. Which I count as an achievement. One spa was full, the other had two spaces but was full of men. I went straight in there without a second thought. The old me would have scooted straight to the shower and gone home.

2frustrated 02-23-2006 03:44 AM

 Hello everybody!

I'm feeling slightly happier today, but I'm up 4lbs! :tantrum: I'm slightly worried that 4lbs in a week means :bb:  :yikes:

Anyways, we'll see what happens, the scales have gone back in the cupboard!

Mands that's such a good picture :D

It's SNOWING this morning. HUMPH! I still came into work though. I won't be going kickboxing if it settles! Will just have to have a nice pamper instead!

kykaree 02-23-2006 03:55 AM

Blame it on water retention!!! You're not in the family way are you??? Do a test dear!

I'm so annoyed. It was snowing this morning, my bus didn't turn up (there wasn't *that* much snow) I came to work and my trainer is away today, so no measurements. Not happy at all!!!!

But I'm here and I've had a nice breakfast, cheese on toast, tomatoes, mushrooms, a sausage and a fruit smoothie!!!

No exercise today, I'm having a well earned day off!!!

2frustrated 02-23-2006 04:02 AM

I have got NO IDEA what's going on!! :?:

Nice breakfast - I haven't had cheese on toast for yonks!

Oh and I'm taking your advice - I'm taking a holiday from work tomorrow to chill out and kick back!! I am in serious need of a laze around! :D

Mazarin 02-23-2006 07:29 AM

Hello peeps!

My blog has had a facelift... same link just a new layout check out the banner below! :)

Hope your're all keeping well!

Sarah Ann 02-23-2006 08:52 AM

Frus  - Could it be the lead up to TOM? If it isn't then you need to take the test!!! (Although it would be a bit early to start putting on any weight).

YP - I'm the same, I'm getting to the point when I could easily do without meat. I know what you mean about the wind though. Seems to affect DH more than it does me. :stars:

Ky - :( Your brekkie sounds lovely. I've got DH at home today and. even though its a high cal day for me and everything is planned, he's still acting like the food police. OMG... I love cheese on toast (with a side of baked beans). Yum.....:hun:

No snow here today - just a lot of sleety rain. Got my own back on DH by taking him on a hike across the Moors. He has got absolutely NO sense of direction and kept saying 'Are we nearly home yet?' and each time I just replied 'Nearly' - and when we turned back we had walked over 5 miles - which meant another 5 miles back. He's taking a nap now! :faint:

Mands - nice picture! I've never watched Little Britain. I never seem to watch anything that anyone else does.

I just made Nigella Lawson's recipe for Hot and Sour Soup but subbed a few mixed beans for the prawns. (Its the soup she has when she's in what she calls 'Temple Mood' - i.e. when she's dieting). 5 minutes to cook, less than 100 cals per portion and it was gorgeous - well worth the effort. :stir:

2frustrated 02-23-2006 09:05 AM

It's not TOM, and yeah it's a lot for the first month or two (I have been searching the net on preggy weights!!!!).

Major NSV this lunchtime!!! I had a BUFFET. And I had 2 sandwiches, 4 quarters of a miniature pork pie :T a few kettle chips type crisps. And stopped. :D I put my plate down and stood with my back towards the table. I only drank water and not orange juice too. Hooray for me!

Homersmummy 02-23-2006 09:43 AM

6½ lb loss this week. :) I'm a pound off my next half a stone. :)

veggie 02-23-2006 09:52 AM

:cp: :hat: :hat: :cp: :hat: :cp: :hat:

Stone sticker next week then! :D

...is frus secretly preg? :sssh:

Homersmummy 02-23-2006 10:22 AM

I got my stone this week, I should get another half a stone sticker next week! :D
I would've got slimmer of the week, but I couldn't stay to class today. :(

veggie 02-23-2006 10:23 AM

I can't keep up! :p

Alison your blog has gone seriously goth I can only see it by highlighting. ;)

kykaree 02-23-2006 10:42 AM

Well done Homersmummy, that's so fab!!!

Frus would you just get a test on the way home woman :p Well done on the buffet. I hate buffets!!! Evil!!!

I've just been to a meeting in the infected office with the horrible carpet, but am ok now. I miss sitting with my little tribe. No one speaks to me in here, hence the number of posts I'm making LOL

veggie 02-23-2006 10:55 AM

Poor Kykareeeee Kylieeeeeee.

micheleherts 02-23-2006 01:02 PM

Well done Homersmummy your on the right road, and you will get there.

Michele

cat90 02-23-2006 01:13 PM

I think you'd know if you were preggers Frus  I DID and those stupid tests don't work for a lot of people. When I went to Doc's to TELL him I was he did a test and it came back negative  but I insisted that I was so he sent me to hospital for one and of course I was :) I think in your case its more likely to be muscle!! :strong:

Awesome Mands :bravo: and you were worried?

I thought that post quick reply button was working BUT ITS NOT! :tantrum: just told me it was a duplicate post when it was my FIRST post

I have'nt dragged 'computer' bike over today :dunno: I should do should'nt I

YP1 02-23-2006 05:16 PM

Back from Spanish, which now isn't even the longest day of the week - Thursdays I'm out of the house from 6.20 til 10, but on Friday I go out at the same time and only get back after midnight :faint:

I went to a vegetarian cafe for a proper meal as a treat before spanish, I've come to a couple of interesting decisions about where I go from here post half marathon to keep mixing things up, but I'm going to keep you in suspense because I need my sleep too much to type it all out now! Sorry...

I did a 5.3k run this morning, and will probably do roughly the same tomorrow morning to keep my legs moving but not tire them out too much. Then Saturday will be rest day, when I'm intending (but will probably fail) to get some housey jobs done and generally calm down a bit from a couple of busy weeks.
