It's like bloomin' Little Britain, Nanny Bitty! :D |
LOL  Funny you should be talking about "you know whats" my daughter mentioned in her email that she'd watched it last night..there was some guy on with 24" silicone balls  as for the breastfeeding thats just plain sick :p
Hi Mands  Slimming World works well :D :goodluck: Bet you lose about 5lbs!! :crossed: ;) |
Oh god the Penis thing - the one not last night but the night before where that guy had (I think) injected silicone or something and had a monster one. Ewww! Of course he couldn't pee properly and certainly could not have sex. When he took it out his trousers (I think he had to use both hands!) I nearly fell off the bed, shrieking!
Didn;t watch the breastfeeding one (still at work) but think these mothers who breastfeed until kid is quite old do it for themselves not for the kids. |
Oh the joys of television!
I got home, did my weights, then went to watch Munich - which sent me to sleep! What is it with Stephen Spielberg and his endings! :?: Anywhoo, pink gloves coming out tonight! Double kickboxing! YAY! I'm on a 2000kcal zig-zag day and I can't even make it up to 2000!!! I've even got a whole avocado to munch on and it's STILL not at 2000 for the day! |
I've gone onto calorie counting because I'm not losing weight on slimming world this time even sticking to sins. I'm trying to stick to about 1500 though I might try your zigzagging. The calorie calculator said I maintain at about 2000 so 1500 should lose me weight right!!
Brekkie cereal 152 cals lunch n snacks So far I've had celery soup - not cream of celery which was yummy and I asked the woman (it was from the shop down the road. i went to buy eggs and it was that cold I had to get soup to keep my hands warm) and she said she thought it would be under 50 cals yay 3 ryvita sesame seed crackers 90 cals and 28gs of cheese 128 cals, satay 60 cals so I still have 1020 cals left for dinner and snacks yay |
I dunno - all this talk about penises and breast feeding - and its only lunchtime! ;) :dizzy:
I bought some new clothes today as well - just a pair of NON-STRETCH jeans and a pair of trackie bottoms (pretty ones in grey stretchy velvety stuff with a pink strip going up the side). Nothing so wonderful as a size 12 I'm afraid but I have gone down from a 24 to a 20 even though the scales say I haven't lost any weight. I am getting so confused about this inch loss with no weight loss that I even tried to weigh myself down at the Vets on the reception doggy scales. I thought I'd busted them but according to the receptionist (who was desperately trying not to laugh) they only go up to 10 st! We went to vets because George is a paid up member of dog-watchers - our Vet's version of weightwatchers for dogs. George has lost 0.6kg since Christmas. Only 2.1kg to go and he will have reached his target. He's been on this diet since the beginning of December 2004. Our ex-vet actually told us that once a labrador weighs more than 50kg it is so unlikely they will ever get the weight off so we may as well not bother - which felt like we were being told to give up on George - so we changed vets instead. Well sucks boo yah to him - George started off at 56.7kg and is now down to 44.1kg. His target weight on the Vet's dog-watcher wall chart is 42kg. :D |
George deserves some pounds off slimming world stickers. They'll probably be allowing dogs soon :p it must be the next step after children. I don't approve of children going to fat clubs.
|
:cp: Hooray for George! He needs "silver sevens" or SW stickers! Just plaster him in stickers anyway! Then take pictures... :D
I'm a bit at sixes and sevens since we had the longest meeting in the world ever and I missed a meal. I then ate 2 meals together (almost) and now I'm feeling too full to have my next meal! |
No, I don't approve of kids going to SW either. Just goes to show that SW are in it pure and simple for the money and don't really care about the wellbeing of their members.
|
Do they have to have Dr's permission or is it a free for all?
|
Does anyone know if I can freeze blueberries? We popped in to Lidl who were selling off punnets of blueberries for 10p instead of 70p - so I bought loads of them. They are exactly right for eating but even I can't manage 12lbs of them.
|
Yes I think you can freeze blueberries. They're a good substitute in smoothies for ice cubes!
|
Blueberries are the best fruit to freeze, unlike other berries they keep their shape once defrosted, and they're yummy frozen!!!!
Well done George, I want your vets scales!!! I like the sound of that, being 10 stone! |

I think its dangeous too if kids have eating problems they should be put on diets by the doctor.
I used to be on a build up plan believe it or not. I was ridiculously skinny until I was 14 or so. i was eating penguins and build up shakes to put weight on as well as having big meals. I remember my cousin saying the weight will catch up with you one day and me laughing and thinking I'd never put on weight but she was right lol. |
Yeh..I think it happens to the best of us  I remember my kid brother being a thin lanky git..he is'nt anymore  but he is'nt fat either..just a little rounder these days ;) so am I
Sarah Ann, think you'll be sick of blueberries in a few weeks :p :joker: Just looked in the paper and they want staff at the chocolate factory where I worked as a temp a couple of christmas's ago :T only problem is its about 18mls away and :censored: money :dunno: (as always) it would be full time though :carrot: and Mon-Fri :cheer: Don't know whether to go or not..did'nt like some of the women they were right *itches :( |
I am glad Manda found you all! :) She is a great friend to me, even though we're never actually met yet in three years, but we will this year at some point! :)
I too watched the Breastfeeding programme.... Whilst I didn't really find much wrong in the woman with twins and even the 4 year old, I found it a bit disturbing about the 8 year old! :?: What can that child at 8 years old really gain from that! Mind you each to there own, and of course the kid didn't seem to really be all that bothered by it at all, so I guess if she was happy.... Was wondering has anyone here followed Lipotrim? I was refferred for it a couple of years back by my GP but didn't take up the offer. However this week I was speaking to a friend and she's lost 3 stone on it in 4 months, and she does look great. I was thinking of trying it just to take food out of my life, maybe drop a few stone and then re-introduce food but healthly low fat options. I would be hoping by dropping 3 stone it might give me a little more energy to increase exercise and such like, so I guess I would just like to use it for a temp measure. Anyone any experience of it.... Alison x |
Well I think I've discovered why I'm not losing weight I'm not eating enough calories.
I've been calorie counting today and i've still got nearly 400 cals left of my reduced intake (1500 cals) and I'm full and I've definitely eaten lots more than I had yesterday. What the crap can I eat thats good for you and will bulk me up a bit without making me feel sick. i might have a piece of fruit later but thats not going to be 400 cals |
Never heard of Lipotrim but then I've heard of nothing.
impossible princess umm I dunno what can you eat? :dizzy: I'm gonna have a baked potato later. I'm in a state at the mo with backache and strange noises when I walk I may be about to keel over any minute. :fr: :faint: :tired: I need to lose a stone NOW. |
I'm just filling up on what I eat atm which is a good thing I suppose but means I need more cals. I suppose I could have some fruit juice, an apple and maybe a low cal hot chocolate before bedtime.
Can't believe I've been good for two weigh ins and not lost anything so annoying!! |
I'm missing the gym!!! Not been since my big asthma attack on Tuesday, it's still playing up, and I want to exercise!!! But I don't think its wise just at the moment. They are having intense meetings at work wondering what the **** to do with me, who on earth is allergic to new carpet??? I'm angling for me to work from home for a few weeks, but I can't see that happening!!!
I missed the breast feeding program. One of my friends breast fed her little one til she was three, it was a bit odd. It's strange when they are old enough to ask for it!!! One of my friends is pregnant at the moment, due in 7 weeks. She is planning to breast feed, but said today she would never feed her baby anywhere other than home. She is quite convinced her baby is going to have very specific feeding times and never going to be hungry and cry for milk. She'll have a shock!!!! I'm going to my work Christmas do tomorrow, I am planning not to drink, fancy my chances anyone??? |
I've not seen any of this tv, I'm never in at the moment! I finished my Spanish course tonight and I have a week off (yay!) before the next one starts. Of course I'm actually going to Spain during the gap, so I will be practising ;)
Out again tomorrow, I've agreed to bucket rattle in return to a free ticket to a rugby match, so I've been retrieving all my warm stuff. I've not been to a game since November (Kylie might remember that one!) so I'm almost excited, even though my team aren't playing. Actually, I just remembered that my team played a friendly tonight and I should really check the result... Had a really good run today - 6.7km in 36 minutes. That's FAST!!! (OK, not by Paula Radcliffe stndards, but by mine ;) ) |
Asthma sucks I'm always on my guard that the gym thinking I might have an attack.

Oh well done!!!!! Thats an amazing loss!!!!
I have had an attack in the gym twice. Luckily the gym I am at now is tiny and the changing rooms are close to the equipment. At my new gym I won't be so lucky so I am buying a puffa pouch! http://www.puffapouch.com/. Then I can wear it around my neck in case of emergency. I am off to my work Christmas do tonight. Can someone explain to my employer that it's February??? |

I am  blue today. I am totally at a standstill. I'm doing everything in my life that I possibly can to try and improve my weight and skinny down. I'm running longer than ever, lifting heavier and my kickboxing is still sucky! I'm at a total standstill with my back-kicks. They suck. I haven't lost any weight in 3 months. My BF% has gone down 0.1% this month, but that's only cos I stood on the scales twice! The first time it was just the same as last time. World's smallest violin :blah: |
Homersmummy - Well done on that ten and a half pounds weightloss! :carrot:
Just a heads up, there's been a warning on the radio news today that there's a new computer virus set to cause damage to Microsoft programs today - its transmitted via attachments to emails and its called the Nixon virus. You might want to think about running an on-line virus check for it - a freebie check is at http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm or http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ I'm just back from a 2 hour 15 min walk which my pedometer says was 9.25 miles (seems unlikely cos I don't think I walk that fast). I had a fairly useless dieting day yesterday. DH thought I seemed down in the dumps and booked a table at my favourite country pub. Not only do they not cook ANYTHING resembling a low cal meal but the table was booked for 9pm and I've promised myself not to eat anything after 8. Oh well - It was a delish meal - chicken in a BBQ sauce with roast root veggies and a salad. I didn't have a starter but I did have a huge bowl of fresh fruit salad (no cream) for pudding. Fresh start today! |
Awww that's sweet! :D And your meal doesn't sound too bad at all - everyone's allowed a day off now and again ;)
|
:dancer: Ooohhhhhh - wobble, wobble - my legs feel just like they belong to a new born Bambi! I just finished an hour long exercise DVD with Beverly Callard (sp?). I ordered it on a whim after watching a programme where some experts evaluated 'celebrity' exercise DVDs and her's came out best on it.
Well - it just goes to show how unfit I am! I managed it all but only by laying on the floor at one point and turning purple and there was a bit where you had to check your pulse - I think I'm dead cos I couldn't find mine. :faint: Its a bit late now but I think I should have watched it all through first before trying it out because it was a little tricky lying on the floor face down with my bum in the air with two very concerned dogs trying to look me in the face at the same time as I was trying to peak at the TV to see what I was supposed to be doing next. :dizzy: I think next time I'll shut the dogs in another room. I'm a bit disappointed that on FitDay.com it gives that kind of exercise the same calorie count as my normal walking but it makes a change and I exercised some different muscles. :smug: |
Sarah Ann, hello!
Which one do you have? The first one *Real Results* or the 2nd *Rapid Results*? I got 40lb of baby weight off in 1996 using Bev's videos - have since re-bought them as DVDs. I love *Real Results* - although the lower body stuff is a killer, and I often skip that part! Also, in the 1990s, I used to fast forward the weight training bit - but now I do that, and it's surprisingly easy. I'd always avoided it because I thought it would be horrendous! I don't do *Rapid Results* so much as I think I got so attached to the first one, it never seemed as good. That's probably just me. It gets very easy after a while, so stick with it. (All except that lower body bit which eventually is just crippling, rather than outrageous!) The dated leotards are fun. I'd love to see what 'Maria' and 'Sue' look like 10 years on? I love the way she stuck the uglier bloke at the back so we didn't have to look at him... classic stuff! Also, when you've seen it a few hundred times you spot all the mistakes - watch her daughter do the stretches, for example! The camera's right on her and she manages to get it wrong - which is endearing, I think! I hope Bev's going to bring out a new one - encouraged by what they said on that show. The dated music's a bit annoying, too. But she is great. PhatP x |
That conjures up quite a picture, Sarah Ann. Could the dogs not have joined in??
Purple face huh? I know all about that. Everyone else comes out of a gym with a lovely glow. Beside me a beetroot is pale in comparison...... |
:D I wonder if I could train them to join in - it would be nice to have someone to work out with.
I've got 'Real Results' on DVD from Play.com and I won 'Rapid Results' on DVD off eBay for (I think) 99p. I did the Real Results one today and might try the Rapid Results on on Sunday. Its a good workout but I'm just a bit disappointed because thought I was getting the latest one called 'Lasting Results' which gives one 30 min full body workout another 25 min full body workout and 10 mins on abs but its my fault for getting DH to do the ordering for me. :( Ah well - that'll teach me! |
Ooooooh another duracell exercise bunny!!! Or should that be emu??? Do emus have abs??? Never seen an emu with a six pack :D
My asthma is better today, I have been moved to a pristine desk with manky old carpet in another building on another floor. I am the only one here, although it will be busy again on Monday. I am back at the gym next week, our works gym is offering a new range of classes, which all sound fabulous. I can't wait!!!! I am going to try swimming tomorrow and Sunday and hopefully my asthma will like that. I'm all set to go to my Christmas do, wearing my brown velvet dress, I even have faked tanned my legs for the first time ever. I can wholly recommend Holiday Skin by johnson and Johnson. It's easy to use and it's cheap! |
