Well I was thinking about suggesting nursing pads and the like but then I thought it might suck royally as a present! ;) But I'm sure you'll have helped her out as you say since maybe she is a bit under prepared. I hope she likes her hamper!

Well done Manda - 2lbs a week is great, a week ago I would've sold my granny for 2lbs a week! Actually I'll give her away free... Anyone want a spare granny??

I'm a bit fuzzy round the edges this morning - an hour of brutal circuits then about 40 minutes of continuous back kicks. I hate them.

But happy news, in total, since last Friday I have lost *DRUM ROLL PLEASE* 2 3/4lbs! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO! :woo: :dancer:  :carrot: :cb: I am 1/4lb away from NORMAL!

Back popping the pills after my week break, I'm worried that they'll :censored: it up... *sigh* I wouldn't be surprised! Anyway, we'll see what happens!

kykaree 02-10-2006 04:00 AM

Hiba loved her present!!! She hadn't thought of any of that stuff, and all the mums flocked around and said "oooh I wish MY friends had thought of that!" So that was nice.

I am missing the gym at lunch to have a farewell meal to with the mum to be. So I got up super duper early and went before work! Gotta do that more often, I like exercising first thing in the morning!

My last day at work then a week off woo hoo!!! Away from the carpets!!!

Well done on your loss Ms Frus that's amazing!!!! by the way your BMI might be normal but you will never be normal ;)

2frustrated 02-10-2006 04:09 AM

I'm glad she liked it, it really was a good idea :bravo:

:hyper: Are you going on holiday? Where are you off to? :hyper:

kykaree 02-10-2006 04:33 AM

Nowhere!!! And just as well, there is a crisis next week at work and they have asked me to work on Wednesday, so my holiday is broken in half!!!

I'm just going to potter around home, try out my new gym, swim a lot and generally just have a break from work!

peacock 2 02-10-2006 04:34 AM

Kyk - that was a nice thought. Too often people are too involved with thinking of the baby's needs. The stuff you got was very practical. Well done you!

peacock 2 02-10-2006 04:38 AM

Woooohooo Friday today! Here comes the weekend! Yay!

Going out with the girls tonight. I cannot wait to see one of them who has a discount card for Hobbs and has bought some lovely clothes from there. The sort of things I should be losing weight for! Another has just come back from Oz so looking forward to hear the news. We are going to a Thai meal in Kensington - we have been before. I am goingt obe very good and try not to go for my usual Green curry and cocoanut rice. If they have plain boiled or steamed I guess I should be eating that. As long as I have a vegetable dish with maybe so tofu and as long as it is spicy/tasty I will be happy. I will still have my hot and sour soup as I love that!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Sarah Ann 02-10-2006 05:55 AM

Yay :carrot: my beloved has booked a week off for our anniversary at the end of Feb and has booked 'a holiday'. He's not saying what kind of 'holiday' - or where - but after a slight panic on my part he finally gave in and told me not to worry about the dogs because they are coming as well which means its nothing to do with going abroad. Last year we had a week in a stunning cliff top haunted cottage in Cornwall but we couldn't book it for this year because they now only allow one dog at a time.

It means that I get to carry on having my break from work until after we come back. For the first time since I started working at home I'm getting to like not working which is a worry - its going to be a huge struggle to motivate myself to get started again.

Peacock - Have a great night out! I love hot and spicy food, I've read somewhere that chillies speed up the metabolism and also make you feel good. ;) I make Nigella's hot and sour soup and its gorgeous. I got the recipe at www pepperfool com/recipes/soups/nigellas_soup html (put dots in where the gaps are - I've used both prawns and subbed chicken instead of the prawns and its equally nice.

Kykaree - that was a great idea for a pressie. I wish I'd know I needed all that stuff in advance but in those days nobody mentioned sore nipples - and for some reason I never knew that I would need the down below pads.

Frys - REALLY well done on that weightloss. I think I'd keep the quarter pound - who wants to be 'normal'!!! ;) ;) ;)

Mands - Well done on that 2lbs! If you think its not enough then put together 4 packs of butter (or, better still, lard) and try carrying it around all day. :dizzy: The 'experts' always say that if it comes off slow and steady it is more likely to be a sustainable loss.

Veggie - Yup - I'd sell a body part for a steady 2lb weight loss each week. Not sure which body part though....

kykaree 02-10-2006 06:10 AM

I haven't had kiddywinks, but I remember my mum saying that she had no idea about down below pads either, and that dad wouldn't go to the chemist to get any, so mum had to ask a nurse to go to the shops for her.

We went to Pizza Hut last night, I had a salad, and we chose the healthiest pizza we could find and shared it. It was gorgeous. I love it when you have something naughty and it's lovely and worth every calorie!!! I hadn't been to Pizza Hut in 4 years, not since I left Australia, coz dh claims to hate it, but he suggested it last night, and loved it! Men!!! No aco****ing for them!

Sarah Ann 02-10-2006 06:25 AM

I know what you mean - there is nothing worse than spending some hard earned calories on what you think will be something wonderful - and then not enjoying it very much. I did that the other day with an Anthony Worrall Thompson recipe - one third of my daily cals and 2 hours of prep work making it - and it was horrible! :(

My husband's tastes are changing as well. I cooked a low fat version of the 2 fat ladies lamb cassoulet (with butter beans and no fat) for dinner last night and he loved it. A year ago the only beans he would eat was good ol' tinned Heinz baked beans, preferably on toast but always with fried eggs, sausages and bacon. OMG! I just worked out how many cals were in my old Sunday brekkie and it was over 1,000!

Well done Superwoman :carrot: :high:

We got a pizza hut about umm...probably 10 years ago and I have never been :( I love pizza. Maybe I'll go for my birthday. WILD! Do they serve wine?

I'm quite excited about the winter olympics :kickcan: :balloons:

2frustrated 02-10-2006 10:09 AM

PIzza pizza pizza pizza :dancer: Yes they serve wine - you're a cheap date veg ;)

Sarah Ann 02-10-2006 10:48 AM

I haven't been to Pizza Hut for 19 years! Last time I went was my daughter's 8th birthday party. Don't know why - we used to go there a lot. In fact I can't remember the last time I had pizza. I've got the munchies for it now. Can you have pizza on a low can / low GI diet??? (Rushes to get out recipe books).

Sarah Ann 02-10-2006 10:49 AM

Veggie - why are you getting excited about the winter olympics?

veggie 02-10-2006 11:18 AM

Because it's on teevee soon, very soon and there is ice things!

kykaree 02-10-2006 11:38 AM

I don't think pizza is the lowest of GI choices, the fat in the cheese and the protein in the meat would bring the overall down, but I don't think it would be fair to call it a healthy choice!!! Better than Macs or KFC though I would think!!!

I love Winter limpics, it's fab, in fact I love ALL limpics.

impossible princess 02-10-2006 11:46 AM

i was so annoyed today I weighed in town without thinking on the scales I used to use and found I hadn't lost and I was so annoyed then I thought hang on you don't weigh in boots anymore you weigh in lloyds and went and it was fixed and I'd lost 1lb yay

cat90 02-10-2006 11:59 AM

LOL Princess

Olympics ? :( I don't like them cuz they're taking Corrie off for two weeks while they're on :rollpin:

Well Done Frus :cheer:

Ugh, I'm just trying to swallow a calcium tablet :p its like a :censored: bullet  the bugger would'nt go down  no wonder I 'forget' to take them

Verdict is'nt in about my new part time job :dunno: I was a bit bored on my first day (tuesday) clock watched a bit..I don't do that at my other job ;) today I work a full day so i'll see how it goes. Had another interview yesterday for a home and garden centre thats opening..will have to wait and see to see if I get called back for a second one :D hopefully i'll get fulltime with more pay ;)

veggie 02-10-2006 12:53 PM

I couldn't stand corrie going off thankfully the olympics is on the beeb :D I don't know what I'm going to do with celeb fit club being off for 2 or 3 weeks. There doesn't seem to be any football or anything on next week so don't know why it is going off.

Where you up to in corrie Cat? Are you up to date or ages behind?

YP1 02-10-2006 02:10 PM

I'm out of work and off to France! And Spain! (and back for Monday :( ) I've just had something to eat, then will nip to bed for a bit of sleep before hitting the road at about 1am to get down to Stansted for a 4.30am check in.

I've lost 1lb and I'm into the elevens! 12 stone was starting to annoy me, it seemed like I'd been there for an age.

And (I've said this all week), I ran ANOTHER fastest ever 10k this morning. Except this was a lot faster than my two other fastest ever 10ks - at the beginning of the week my fastest was just under 59 minutes, I got it down over 2 runs to just over 57, but today I ran it in.............

54:44 :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

micheleherts 02-10-2006 02:34 PM

That is absolutely fantastic well done you. I remember being stuck in the 12's myself, what kind of a target are you aiming for? Your blessed with height so you surely look fine and slim already.

Michele x

YP1 02-10-2006 02:56 PM

I don't know what I'm aiming for. I'd like to get to the 100lb lost mark and then see what happens really. Anything from here on in is better than I expected, but I can definitely afford to lose a little more.

Homersmummy 02-10-2006 06:15 PM

Cheers all, I'm just greedy! ;)
I SO nearly ate a load of chocolate earlier. My team in work is splitting, we've been giving the definite date today of 27th February, so put me right down in dumpsville. But I was a good girl. I'm the fatest girl in my team... the fatest in my SW... actually i'm the fatest in my work now! It's really really getting me down. :( I need this weight gone. It's gonna be a tough few weeks, but I will be good.

YP1 02-10-2006 06:55 PM

I'm awake again! Have just had a shower, now drying my hair and re-packing (having decided while falling asleep to completely change what I'm taking, before hitting the road. Was told to take it slowly by the garage while the car repairs bed in, which will be SOOO hard on a completely empty motorway down to London :(

Homersmummy 02-10-2006 07:13 PM

Have a good time, drive carefully. :D

Mands xx

veggie 02-10-2006 07:14 PM

She's always off on her travels that one ;) Have a good time YP. :D

BritinNJ 02-10-2006 07:16 PM

Well done on the fastest ever run again YP. Have fun on your hol :)

Mum just wrote to me and said the opening of the winter olympics was super, so I might watch it later... in between walking the dogs, and cleaning some of this house, so I don't spend the whole weekend doing it.

I also have brought work home this weekend...I'm so behind, it's not funny, so if I do some this weekend, I might just might, get ahead a little bit, at least for Monday.

cat90 02-10-2006 11:06 PM

Oh we're way behind Veggie  everyone thinks that Charlie has given Shelley a shiner and Danny is just getting going with Les's slapper of a daughter  i'm just waiting for Mike Baldwin to start losing his marbles

cat90 02-10-2006 11:13 PM

I think this thread is Doo Lally too  its the second time i've been on and its told me that "this is a duplicate post" and it will take me to the thread when I know FOR A FACT that I DID'NT type the :censored: thing twice

Hmmm :chin: new job is'nt so bad but time definitely does'nt go as fast as it does at the store :dunno: but it OK  got home and the 'store' had called to cancel one of my shifts next week :rollpin: I don't know :nono:

cat90 02-10-2006 11:20 PM

 Now I know that the gremlins are out :fr: it just did it again "this post is a duplicate post of a post that you posted in the last five minutes" :yikes: then it takes me to the FIRST PAGE of the thread :rollpin:  Veggie..sort it!! :^: PLEASE ;) :D

2frustrated 02-11-2006 02:12 AM

 You guys really write a lot when I'm asleep! Had an early one last night 8pm!

BUT this morning I AM NORMAL! I stood on the scales and I AM NORMAL :dancer:  :carrot: :cb: :woo: :dancer:

I weigh 11stone 9.5lbs!!! :faint: That's a whole 3 1/2 lbs lost since last week! :D :faint: and again :faint: :D

Welll done YP you speed bunny - you'll leave us in the dust in June! ;)

Sarah Ann 02-11-2006 05:18 AM

Well done YP, and have a lovely holiday.

Frus - congratulations on being 'normal'. That is brilliant loss this week!!!!!!!!!! :hat: :woo: :cheer: :hat: :woo: :cheer:

I'm not so lucky, only 1lb gone this week and I have been so good - but its better than putting a pound on I suppose. :stress:

Mands - Remember to come and post on here when the chocie gremlins threaten to overwhelm you.

Kykaree - I think that if I were to buy a pizza my DH would probably disown me. He's getting right in to the GI thing. (Nice to know he's being supportive.... or is he checking up on me??) Anyway - he loves cooking :chef: and from what I can gather his latest project is to search the net and work out the lowest GI sub for the ingredients in his favourite recipes plus all the other food we eat. I've been subbing low GI for his brekkie and packed lunch as well as our dinner and he's not getting the glucose drop he always suffered from badly in the mid afternoon AND he's not falling asleep in the evenings any more. :dz:

Sarah Ann 02-11-2006 06:26 AM

Just bored and browsing the net and found a health, age and life expectancy calculator at: www preventdisease com/healthtools/articles/health_age html (fill in the spaces with dots).

I'm now feeling very pleased with myself - although I'm 50 it calculates my health age to be 38 and my life expectancy to be 88 (apparently the typical life expectancy is 76). I'll probably have a heart attack tomorrow!

PhatPhoenix 02-11-2006 07:42 AM

LOL Sarah Ann, I just had a go and apparently I'll live to 96 and my health age is 23! (I'm 44) I wish! In fact, I was born with a severe heart defect - hole in the heart -but none of the questions found that out! Spent most of my childhood and 20s in and out of heart hospitals! I'm sure my old cardiologist would be thrilled to know I've the heart of a 23 year old...

veggie 02-11-2006 10:24 AM

A NORMAL superwoman?

:jig: :cheer: :bike: :jig: :cheer: :bike: :jig: :cheer: :bike: :jig: :cheer:

kykaree 02-11-2006 11:58 AM

How weird, it thinks my health age is 19!!!!!!! I'm 33, and apparently I am going to annoy everyone to the ripe old age of 88!!! Scary!!!

veggie 02-11-2006 01:10 PM

New!

;) In case anyone doesn't know there is now a space in your profile for a fitday link and a starting weight current weight goal weight space which will as if by magic :wizard: appear under your avatar.

2frustrated 02-11-2006 02:16 PM

I thought I'd seen something like that.... Does anyone really want to know?

Been kickboxing for hours today! Hours and hours and hours! And I went to Primark :D I bought a bikini for "normal superwoman" :D Oh and lots of other stuff in a size 12! :D I thought I'd buy small since I was dropping weight and it all fits! :D

Then had chips for lunch and pizza and a sponge cake for tea! :o :T A restrained free day - I only ate when I was hungry :D

Not happened yet! I had some Mango, Melon and Blueberries earlier... go me! :carrot: But that chocolate gremlin better stay away!

According to the scales at home, I have lost 4lb since Thursday, I don't think that can be right though.

My interesting forum info? Yes they do. :p  :chin: :dunno:

Sarah Ann 02-12-2006 02:15 AM

I'm up and ready for my walk - but its pouring with rain. Its supposed to stop later so the dogs will just have to keep their legs crossed!

Mands - Well done on fighting the chocie gremlins. :cp:

Frus - Fantastic about the size 12s!!!!! BRILLIANT!! :hat:

Veggie - I'm using your avatar weights thingie - how's your back? I've found that mine's made a lot worse by sitting at this computer. Last Thursday I didn't use the 'puter at all and I didn't get any back ache (I still got the hip thing though - but I think that's old age creeping up on me).

For the first time for ages I got an attack of the killer munchies yesterday, luckily I haven't got anything in the house to munch on, so (according to my DH) I just opened and banged closed kitchen cupboards sighing heavily - I don't really know what I was looking for. I finally settled for a piece of gorgonzola, a pear and a couple of Kevin's Hovis crackers which just about fitted inside my calorie allowance. What happened next was pretty startling - by the time I finished my little snack my gums were completely swollen and felt raw. It lasted an hour. I can't work out if it was the cheese or the crackers. :(
