I know you thought you could get away from it by going to the UK.

Helloooo!
Yes it's me doing as very quick post the day before I fly to Scotland tomorrow! I am all packed and have even got a few kg left to spare in my case!! Mind you I think the limit is not what I am allowed but rather what I am able to carry!!
So the next time I write to you I shall probably be in Linus's house!
The builder/decorator man is all but finished but he is going to paint the spare room whilst I am away. The paint I have chosen is called Angelic! Its pink if you were wondering!!He has done so much work for me and it all looks brilliant. I even have a power supply to the garden shed so I can keep my mobility scooter in it, all nicely tucked out of the way.
Tootoot I shall send you a pm with my mobile telephone number in it so we will be able to contact each other hopefully so we can meet up in Glasgow...I'd really love to meet you whilst I am so near...

Meanwhile I hope everyone is well and I will catch up with you all soon...do I have to write in a Scot's accent whilst I am in the country??!!

Have a wonderful time Teel... give Linus our love and let us know how she's doing. Your decorating sounds lovely, I'm very in to pink myself at present, no walls painted that though, it's all white over here... supposed to keep things cool.. not happening at 111 degrees

Hi Girls thanks for the welcome back

111 degrees? well, that should sweat off some pounds Chris i'm working on the chocolate its a toblerone bar at the moment ( if you're interested ) but I really need to quit i'm back to my all time high and I hate it I can feel my belly wobbling now two doctors have told me that I need to lose weight (you'd think that I did'nt know that would'nt you? ) and I have to go to the hospital for tests and scans because of the chest pains i'm having i'm scared to death because they are going to inject one of those dyes into me and put me in a scanning machine or something good luck to them because I hate needles and I have panic attacks so the only way they'll get me to do it is under sedation btw, Chris I was fine on the flight but needed to take a tranq on the Bury tram which was jam packed

Have a Great time in Scotland Sheila I want to go back to UK Jacqui said the weather is great today (25 ) and she's off to Manchester shopping (for clothes as usual) then sunbathing. There are plenty of cheap flights and i'm tempted..really tempted

Hi Everybody

I wondered if anyone else as been in this situation and if you could give me some advice?
I THINK MY HUBBY IS TRYING TO SABOTAGE MY DIET.

I have nothing I can confront him with just little one off things over the weeks.

1 He buys a pie I really like, and rings home at lunch time to say he's left it in the fridge ( I eat it over 2 days trying to include it in diet).
2 He keeps buying bottles of wine and alcopops only I drink.
3 Yesterday he bought a huge unsliced loaf when he knows my biggest weakness is thick sliced buttered toast.
I could go on but you get the picture.
Perhaps its just the diet making me paranoid.

Carole

Diet saboteurs are everywhere. On the slimming world members site they have a Slimmers Against Sabotage log you can fill in.

Hi chunkycarole,
Veggie's right, saboteurs are all over the place. If you really want to show him that you DON'T WANT AND DON'T NEED the things he's buying you (and he does this because he loves you, not because he's trying to sabotage, he prob doesn't even have a clue about how many cals or fat is in these things), then be a very strong brave woman and throw the things away before you can eat them. When he asks why you're doing it, be honest and tell him and explain that you need HIS support the most, cos they'll be some rough days going without these things.
My husband has had a few moments and when I had a melt down all one day and finally explained that I WANTED to do this FOR ME... he got it. He can even cook WW meals and knows the points of them and he's been known to use the point finder if he's not sure... I love him!

OMG...what a man! both of them..I say that because mine would'nt shop or count points he would'nt know what a point was unless he was making it Carole..why don't you ask him point blank why he is doing this? and tell him that you're trying really hard to lose weight and he is ruining it for you maybe he's doing it because he really does'nt want you to change at all

My hubby went through that stage too, he would demand cake and biscuits and chocolate, he wouldn't even go and get them himself, he would make me do it. He's never like that. He went through a really difficult phase in January. I just ignored him, and didn't confront him, and kept going, and now, he's fabulous. He's supportive, he reads articles about GI diets and finds recipes, he praises my cooking, he helps me make sensible choices when we go out, it's like he's had a brain transplant!!!! I did confront him once, when he was moaning about soem of the changes, and I just glared at him and said to him "you don't have to change, the bakery is down the road, the chinese, the indian if you want bad food yuor welcome to it, but you have to sit outside to eat it!", and he shut up after that. We have a group of disaffected youths, who are stone's throw away from an ASBO who sit on the seats on our street corner so sending him to sit outside scared him more than the healthy eating!!!

I wonder if your hubby's are REALLY trying to sabotage....

This is just my opinion, but I think that buying you yummy food that he knows you love is his way of "being nice" to you, and showing his love. The way I reckon you try to stop that is by reinforcing "good" behaviour of his (ie buying flowers, doing housework, non-food related stuff) and make a bigger deal of THAT kind of gesture, and almost dismissing/passing off the food buying thing....

Basically, boys are like animals, they just need to be shown the right way to do things (and they inherently WANT to be a good boy and do the right thing and be praised - they just need to know what the right thing IS)

Can I also just say how lucky you all are to have hubbys that want to please you and make you happy?

Just try to direct their good deeds in the right direction.

Failing that, get a water bottle squirter and every time he buys bad food, squirt him. Hey, it works on my kitten???? hehe

*climbing off soapbox*

She's a 7 week old persian - and is a ratbag.... and the only way to train her is to give her a quick squirt with the water gun when she is a naughty girl.....

If I knew how to upload photos... I would *blush*

Thanks for all the advice everybody.Cat90 was right, I wish I had a hubby like yours BritinNJ.
Last night before I'd read all your messages I was sitting watching TV and he came in with an already poured glass of wine, and the rest of the bottle just for me (he was drinking beer).
Instead of doing any of the sensible things you all sugest, I screamed, "F+++++ stop it", and stormed off to bed.
He slept on the settee and now we're not talking.

I think he does'nt want me to lose weight because he thinks it will change me, and too right it will.
Ever since I've had my first son I've worked doing his books at home, so I hadly ever go any where, and I've just piled on the pounds which stops me wanting to go. I've turned into one of those housework and taxi slaves my mum used to be, an I swore would never happen to me.
They all think my weekly vist to slimming world is a big night out. It is the first thing I've done for myself in years.
Sorry to be going on, but |I'm absolutely stark raving mad, at the moment.
Its even taken away my appetite. I wish we had some asbos, outside our house I would pay them to throw stones at his car.

Raving Chunky Carole
