Went out for a bike ride with the boys this morning, had promised them yesterday we would, but I really didn't feel like it today - too much booze and lack of sleep last night.

But we went. We rode about 3 miles and were away for over an hour.

Was too much fun too be good for me :)

Smiling Sal 05-11-2003 07:44 AM

Am going to do my salsa :cb: vid this afternoon and a huge pile of ironing, should burn a few cals.

Smiling Sal 05-12-2003 03:09 PM

No exercise again today - am going to change that this week

This week I can do anything !!!

BritinNJ 05-12-2003 09:15 PM

Still doing curves four times a week, am still enjoying it as well. The salsa vid sounds like fun though, might go out this weekend and see if I can find one. I do have a friend who is of latin origin and she taught me to salsa on a night out with a bunch of wine and jello shots in me, I must say, I looked pretty good and kept with the beat....but I was a bit piddled so might not have been as good as I think!

Smiling Sal 05-13-2003 08:47 AM

Have just returned from a 1.5 mile walk in the sunshine.

Smiling Sal 05-14-2003 05:48 PM

Walked another 1.6 miles in the sunshine today.

Where you Cathy, how far did you go ?

BritinNJ 05-14-2003 06:01 PM

I'm glad you two have sunshine. I haven't seen it in days. Actually I lie, it's just popped out now through the horendous thick clouds that have become a part of the NJ sky line for over a week now. I am feeling rather run down today, been busy at work and due to high winds recently am having allergy problems, due to all the blossoms and bits and bobs flying off the trees. Still I will walk the dogs tonight as per usual and I know it'll make me feel better too. Enjoy your sunshine :)

Smiling Sal 05-15-2003 03:18 PM

Walked another 1.25 miles this lunchtime - still in the sunshine, although it wasn't warm

Smiling Sal 05-16-2003 06:06 PM

Fell by the wayside today. Was in Dundee and went to the pub for my lunch with a couple of the guys instead of walking in the rain.

Will make up for it tomorrow am going to tidy both boys rooms - am a glutten for punishment, am trying to convince myself that all that bending and lifting will be good for me.........

cat90 05-17-2003 01:09 PM

Carol i just looked in my journal and i have'nt treadmilled since 26th April :o 3 WEEKS AGO  does'nt time fly when you're killing yourself gardening  will get back to it next week and start posting again..so look out i'll be chasing you

BritinNJ 05-17-2003 01:47 PM

Walked for three hours round the zoo yesterday so that has to count, plus a turn at curves and again today so am doing well still. I still say curves is the way for me :) Would like a treadmill but can't fit one in this piddly tiny house, unless I make someone move out???? :)

cat90 05-17-2003 07:18 PM

i vote for Dave seeing as he left you behind and went to Las Vegas :s:

BritinNJ 05-17-2003 10:29 PM

Any more of you girls voting on Dave, he was very naughty leaving me here while he went to sunny LV. Said it was in return of me leaving him and the kids when I went to AZ.....not the same I reckon though....

Smiling Sal 05-18-2003 01:43 PM

I vote for Dave to go - should have let you go to LV and AZ.

No exercise am turning into a slob

teel 05-19-2003 10:00 AM

I hate to say this....but,pardon my ignorance, what on earth are you lot posting about at the moment????
I seem to habe lost the plot.:( :?:  :dz:  :hyper:
Who is DAVE, and where is AZ ??

cat90 05-19-2003 11:19 AM

 Teel..Dave is Chris's husband who recently went on a trip to LV (Las Vegas) without her and AZ is Arizona where as you may already know Chris went to recently without Dave :dizzy: none of which has anything to do with exercise  and i have'nt done any either Carol..i'm a lazy :moo: too.

Smiling Sal 05-19-2003 12:28 PM

Still lazy. Ray not working now - between contracts. So have no excuse not to get back out walking in the morning. Need to push myself a bit more

Can I vote for Dave again ?

BritinNJ 05-19-2003 03:20 PM

Yes you can vote for Dave again Carol...I reckon he'll have to be the one who goes, like they say over here, three strikes and you're out.....hehehe...I'll tell him later though, he had the afternoon off from work and has spent the lat three hours not very paitently trying to install a cd player into my car for me. I had to hitch a ride on the school bus to get home...needless to say the aair is a bit blue outside so I'll stay away from him for a bit. Oh yes...another thing...the sun is finally shining again, it's absoultely gorgeous out....maybe he'll have my car back together for me to get to curves later......hope so, I need to go, those size 16's are calling my name :)

teel 05-20-2003 06:32 AM

Aha!!!!Now I understand!

:( I really do not know how to exercise at the moment...at the end of last year I was meeting my challenge of walking 3x20minute a week. Now though, this year seems to have really gone to pot. I have too much pain to walk very far at all and some days I can barely get round the bungalow.I think this is why I have not lost any weight recently, or rather over the past six weeks or so!!HEEEEEELP!!!!!
I am musing about trying the on-line weightwatchers plan as everyone speaks very highly about weight watchers and their points idea.If I have not lost weight on my next weigh-in day in 2 days time, I may try that plan to see if I can give my metabolism a kick start again.....:cb: :drill: :drill:

BritinNJ!!!!3 hours round the zoo?!Well done. I was staggered and confess I would probably hired out a camel.....:s:

Smiling Sal 05-20-2003 08:44 AM

I just walked a mile at lunchtime had to race back before the rain came

Totall walked this week = 1 mile (so far)

cat90 05-20-2003 02:06 PM

I walked/jogged 1 mile yesterday and spent another 5 hours gardening (digging) so that must be worth something ;)

Teel..i know this may sound stupid but have you thought of exercising while sitting down? using light weights? doing leg raises? i am kind of interested in the bodyflex system at the moment and it is'nt that expensive so if it does'nt work its no great loss  apparently you do it whilst sitting and you have a bar with bands attached to it and exercise while concentrating on your breathing..maybe its something for you to consider but i'd check with your patience of a saint doctor first :D

teel 05-20-2003 06:13 PM

Ooh thank you for that bit of inspiration cat90, it sounds just right and would hopefully tone up the stubborn bits at the same time, hee hee!! :strong: :jig:

Carol, will you be doing a lot of exercise on Friday, receiving all your birthday cards and greetingsand having to transfer all into the car and then into the lounge :dizzy:  :p

cat90 05-20-2003 10:27 PM

Your welcome Teel ;) i hope it works for you. I walked/jogged for just over a mile and then changed to the weightloss program for another mile today :)

BritinNJ 05-20-2003 10:31 PM

Teel I know the thingy Cathy is on about, there's an infomercial about it over here and I'm sure it's prob on line too, for more details. I thought about mentioning it to you but Cathy beat me to it, she must get on line before me...LOL..in fact, Cathy, I see you're on line now, that's a first as I never see your light on, and you're not that far away from me are you? How far are we, do you know, I have NO clue.....

Smiling Sal 05-21-2003 08:18 AM

Tidied the boys rooms up last night - that was most definately exercise.

None so far today butit is only lunchtime.

cat90 05-21-2003 02:00 PM

Sorry Chris..i did'nt see your post last night i must have gone somewhere else  where does it say that someone is online? i can't see that..i used to see it but it is'nt there anymore :dizzy: do i have to look in my user cp? i would have pm'd you if i'd seen you :) you can go to www.bodyflex.com if you want to check out that "thingy" as Chris calls it  the before and after pics are quite good..i know one girl on another board that uses it and she said it really tones you up :)

cat90 05-21-2003 02:02 PM

btw..i don't know how far away you are either..3000+ miles :dizzy:

BritinNJ 05-21-2003 04:09 PM

Cathy, the little arrows on the bottom of your posts are green when you are on line. With the time difference to GB I don't usually see anyone on line so was happy to know last night I wasn't the only one up in the world :)

Smiling Sal 05-22-2003 02:41 AM

Exercise sucks !!!!!

Need to remind myself what it is again and what I like and just start doing it - no excuses

cat90 05-22-2003 09:20 PM

 come on Carol..it is'nt that bad.
I did my 20 minute Pilates tape this afternoon..walked/jogged for nearly 20 and lifted weights for 10 :D so not too bad ;)

BritinNJ 05-22-2003 10:09 PM

Didn't do curves today, had all good intentions and got there to realise I'd forgot my tennies....gah! After work this was as well and by the time I drove home I just thought I wasn't meant to go today so stayed home and had a little nap.....it was a long day and miserable out too :(
Did walk as usual with Pen and Lew though, so have exercised, plus, during the work week, I always have a work out, this week more so than usual, cos my three year old keeps me on the move all the time...he's such a sweetie.

cat90 05-24-2003 12:01 PM

20 mins Pilates tape and 20 mins Treadmill yesterday :)

cat90 05-26-2003 12:06 AM

No exercise yesterday..2.30mls on treadmill today :)

Smiling Sal 05-26-2003 06:34 AM

Walked over 5.5 miles on Saturday - didn't take my pedometer up the mountain or out on the town in the evening, but we did a lot of walking at both of these times too.

Rode my bike for over 11 miles over rough terrain yesterday. Was exhausted at the end of it and my butt was so sore. 11 miles is the conversative estimate of how far we went. We need to buy a map measuring thingy or a speedo for one of the bikes.

Apparently we are going out on the bikes again this weekend, was fun really, but I might not be so keen in the rain !!!!

Am going for lunch in an hour - can't wait. And will walk my usual mile and a bit then.

Carol

Smiling Sal 05-26-2003 10:16 AM

didn't walk at lunchtime, took the car to Sainsburies instead. Will need to do something tonight - even 10 minutes a day will make a difference to my metabolism.

cat90 05-26-2003 02:04 PM

 we'll let you off for taking the car Carol..especially after your "expedition" over the weekend ;)

Smiling Sal 05-26-2003 04:21 PM

Am going to do something tomorrow - no excuses !!!

cat90 05-27-2003 11:31 AM

1.23mls walk/jog + 20 mins free weights yesterday ;)

BritinNJ 05-27-2003 09:23 PM

Went to Curves this evening. They have just moved into a new facility which is a bit bigger as their clientele has grown since they first opened. Was a bit shocked cos it's not as big as I expected, the room for the workout is long and narrow so felt a bit like you were going to step on someone, still never mind. They added a new machine too. It works your upper body, it's like a bar that you lift up to your boobs and push down again, I could really feel my muscles screaming by the third round!
Walked Pen and Lew tonight, have had to hold off the past two days as Pen hurt her leg on Saturday so has had to rest up. She was pretty nippy on her feet tonight though :)

cat90 05-28-2003 01:27 AM

I tried to do the accelerated Pilates tape today :p nuff said  and i walked/jogged for 20 mins.
