No walk today, weather was just too bad. Am going swimming tonight when Sean is at his swimming lesson, but will need to take Steven in the water with me as Ray is working.
So no 'real' exercise today |
Did'nt exercise yesterday..and ate chocolate too :yikes: only exercise i got was going to walmart for some new leggings to exercise in  will do some now
|
More floor polishing today, been moving all day so it has got to count as exercise!!
|
why are you polishing floors?
|
 good question Jano..did 3 miles on my treadmill yesterday and 5 miles today with 15 minutes of free weights :D
|
LOL Cos they are 'wooden ' floors and need polishing, and as I am off work I am trying to keep my fingers out of the fridge. I went back to Docs yesterday and have been given a spray now to get to grips with this ear infection!! Heres hoping it works!!
|
Goodness me, TQ...it is well time that stubborn ear infection of your's took a hike!!!
Hope the new stuff from the doctor works. Mind your back on those floors.... Jano...it will be okay in the end....we will all help if we can, I'm sure.:D I have been thinking about getting a treadmill....but have never seen one advertised anywhere....any suggestions, please? See you soon, love from Teel:dancer: :dancer: |
Hey TQ, watch out for those splinters in those boards hehe
Did my 2 mile walking tape yesterday and I'm off to do it again now. I'll shift this weight if it kills me, it is strictly UNWANTED, yes sireee! .......off - bye Jx |
Those weights took their toll yesterday i've got a gimpy neck this morning..i know what it was the 'butterfly press' :( it get's me everytime
|
Well I did a reply to this some time ago but it has gone...
I did my walking tape last night and again tonight so thats 4 miles in all I will get rid of this weight iof it kills me |
'Walked' 5.5 miles on my treadmill today..was aiming for 6 but got fed up
|
Now I feel like a big fat couch potato.
Am feeling better, no real exercise, but I spent most of the day tidying Stevens room, so I figure that is better than vegging out all day. If Ray is not working tomorrow, I may attempt a walk, depends on teh weather. Am going swimming in the evening with the kids and friends. |
I 'walked' 6 miles yesterday for a total of 18 in 4 day's :D also did about 15 mins of weights...i was watching "From Dawn till Dusk" and just kept going  when they were killing all the vampires my little legs were going like the clappers  :cp:
|
Got Lazyitis at the moment but forced myself to 'walk' 4 miles today :D
|
You'll walk yourself to England soon Cathy...LOL! I wonder how many miles away you are? I think I'm 3000....
|
Wish i could walk home  it would save some money..we must be about 5000 miles away :( could be more :dizzy:
|
From dusk till dawn....is that the George Clooney one, weird to see him playing a bad guy and sporting a big tattoo, mind you i could watch him all night if he was on the testcard. I have been walking the last couple of days, out in the elements though, not v pleasant....rebounder still in the garage!!

Does anyone know the guidelines on wearing trainers when exercising? I dusted of my old BLT2 exercise tape by Mr Motivator today - watched some of it but didn't participate - and he said it was important to wear the correct trainers. However the only bit that seems to involve jumping up and down is the warm up where he does running on the spot.
My floor is concrete under a very thin carpet and although I don't want to spend money on trainers if I don't need to, I would rather do that than end up damaging joints as 16 stone something hits concrete at a rate of knots! Good job its not a wood floor or I would end up damaging joists!!!!!!!!!:) Made up for not joining in with Mr M by swimming 20 lengths. I only learnt to swim in march last year and had got up to 32 lengths by june (which was the last time i was able to go due to childcare and husband working strange hours) so this is the first time I've been in 7 months and I was thrilled to manage even 1 length, let alone 20. One happy bunny tonight! |
Swam for 30 minutes last night, walked a mile and a small bit today and swam with Sean tonight - probably managed about 15 minutes swimming myself. Was trying to coach him on the breast stroke.
|
Helen..20 lengths..thats great :bravo: i wish i could swim but i don't think i can overcome my fear of water :( as for the trainers..i would buy some..your feet need the support..i need some new ones myself..i find that my feet sometimes ache because my old ones are getting worn and are'nt supporting my feet like they should. I did'nt exercise at all today :( re-potted some plants and then went shopping..will have to make up tomorrow.

Well done on all the exercise this week everyone. I have been walking to and from work and between the two jobs this week. I haven't been swimming opr anything yet but am hoping my ear is up toscratch on Monday and I can get back into it,must admit I don't actually fancy it this weather and I can't get anyone else to go either. My rebounder is in the house though and I have actually done 10 minutes today. Ear still making things a bit wobbly, got more antibiotics yesterday so lets hope these get rid of the little bug (ger)!!
|
Went for a walk yesterday lunchtime, was the last thing I really felt like doing, my side was playing me up, but had to get out for a while.
Today though the antibotics have kicked in and I went for a walk in the sunshine today, a brisk 2 miles, fair enjoyed it and came back all windswept and mysterious. |
Carol.."windswept and mysterious" eh? :s: :chin: hmmm, i just come back looking like i've been dragged through a hedge
|
This is Day 3 of no exercise :( don't know whats up wi' me..i got to snap out of this :D
|
Too be honest Cathy I looked like I had been through the hedge backwards too, but I was trying to be romantic and poetic - Ray just laughed at the state of my hair when I got back.
Am taking the boys swimming later with some friends, will be 6 kids in the group - must be mad. But although us adults won't get any real swimming done, it will be better exercise than sitting on the couch doing nothing. Have a pile of ironing to do as well and will be tidying Seans room for a couple of hours, all that banding and lifting will help. But no 'real' exercise today for me. Am considering getting up early tomorrow and doing an aerobics tape - used to do it all the time before ........ |
Yeh..i remember that Carol..you were the QUEEN of early riser's :D
|
Bought trainers and an exercise mat on friday - thought skipping, using my old ab-cruncher and the Mr Motivator video would be enough to start me off for a couple of weeks especially if I could go swimming now and again.
But got exercise just laughing today: Chris got my weights out of the loft using with my old video and I bought the ab cruncher downstairs. I lay on the floor and tried to isolate my stomach muscles. No success, no movement. Chris told me to move away from the machine and try again. same reaction. he then showed me how to do sit ups properly and pulled a muscle in his shoulder. In the meantime my daughter had asked if she could use the ab-cruncher, had got a blanket and had lain down on the mat bit with the pillow, had tucked herself up and was using the weights as candles next to the bed she told me. Best use for it as far as I can see! |
Sounds like a good laugh Helen.
Well the early morning didn't happen, I sat watching Taggart until nearly one this morning, so there was no chance of me getting up at 6 to work out - tomorrow morning will be a different matter and I am aiming for a workout at 6:20 for 30 mins workout, a long shower and then the rest of the morning routine as usual. need to get back to this. No walk today either as the weather was pitiful, I could have walked to the town in record time, but would have had to have battled against the wind to get back up the hill to the office. And then the rain ................. |
Did it !!!
Got up and did 30 minutes fo aerobics bfore breakfast - will do it again on Friday morning, too busy swimming Wednesday and Thursday |
Well done Carol, I think you need a lot of motivation to get out of bed before the last possible moment, especially to exercise!
I had a very unusual day for me. Someone told me yesterday about a fitness and health morning at the community centre next to my daughters school so I went this morning. It was totally free with a creche if anyone needed it. We did aerobics, pilates and relaxation then we could be weighed if we wanted or had our blood pressure taken. Mine was fine which surprised me no end! And we came down from the exercise to a table full of mango, pinapple, kiwi, and other fruit, dips, veg for dipping, fruit juice etc. Wow. Still all free! Then after taking my daughter back to the school in the afternoon I went swimming. Not sure how many lengths I managed as I was quite tired from the morning and kept losing count but I think I probably managed around 20 again. Got caught in driving hail on the way home and then just collapsed! I'm off for a bath and very early night in a minute. I am very pleased with myself. As my husband pointed out it was probably the most exercise I've done since I was about 14 (when I started skiving off PE) and I'm now 38. I was amazed I kept up as I was definately the most overweight person there.:smug: |
Wow Helen, well done. I don't think I could have done all that in one day. Have a good sleep. The food sounds fab too. Carol, what exercise did you do this morning, well done luv. I am trying to get back into Tae-bo every morning again, but it's so cold, not an excuse I know, but I'd far prefer to stay in bed a half hour longer, all snuggly buggly like. :)
|
Sounds great Helen, all health centres should provide this service, hope it's a regular thing!!
I am having probs posting again so hope you get thiis post!! |
Boy, do i feel guilty skiving off exercise  you've shamed me into doing something now ;) Helen what a great place :D how can they give all that food away too :dizzy: i'd sure keep going if i was you :)
|
I wish they'd do something like that round here, Helen. I'd definitely be up for it. I actually miss aerobics, but the class i was going to shuts down for the winter because she says not enough people bother to turn out if they have to go in the cold! We think it reopens in March; so not that long before i can go back, I suppose!
It sounds like you've done really well today anyway- think of all the points you must have burned! Keeping up is brilliant too when you're not used to that kind of exercise. |
I actually got my lazy duff on to my treadmill :cp: i did 30 mins on the mountain program and 30 mins on the weightloss program..i had my new trainers on and they were rubbing me but i thought "i'm not stopping" when i took them off i have a blood blister covering the whole of my little toe :( never mind i'll wrap it up tomorrow and do it all again :D
|
Went for a 10 minute walk, better than nothing, but not as good as usual. It was far too cold to walk any further so I just turned round and came back to work.
Will be swimming with Sean later so that'll keep this metabolism moving. |
Went on my treadmill again and have another blister for my trouble  but will it stop me :drill: NO WAY!
|
I walked to work in a blizzard that must count as exercise today!!
|
3 miles on treadmill today..weightloss program :D
|
Does building a snowman count? shovelling the white stuff etc? No school today cos staff cant get in, kids are having a whale of a time here and so am I !!
