Norma - I hope you know I wasn't laughing AT you! I just think it's humorous that anyone could confuse me with a talented person. I'm totally "creatively challenged", lol.
So what kind of pages is everyone doing? Weightloss related, family or just a you page? I've got some ideas on what I want to do, just need to get it together. And I'm not sure yet what I will be doing. Trying to do a weightloss related page but not sure at this point...may just be a me page. I went to the scrapbook store today to get some stuff now I just need to get it down on paper.
Cristina: My thought was I wanted to know more about and see the other Jaded Ladies who are sharing my weight loss journey. We are putting faces with the names we see every day. The page should tell us more about you. It can be your weight loss, hobbies, ambitions, all or whatever you feel best describes you. Please put your picture on the page. It can be just your face, all of you or whatever. I'm making mine all about what has made me, me! My careers, hobbies, children, grandchildren in micro form. Since I'm new at this, I hope it makes sense. Do what makes you happy, creative but please include at least a glimpse of you.
Jane: I didn't take anything personally. I got a chuckle out of my boo boo. I learned to laugh at myself a long time ago. I agree about wishing more would join us but I thought asking a forum any larger than Jaded Ladies would be too overwhelming.
Marti: How's it going girl? About done with your pages? I'm doing mine assembly line so none are done, but lots in progress. I don't have enough pages of the same background so the backgrounds will be different but the color scheme will be the same.
Tiffany: You said you were pleased with the page you got done. Thank you for the link to the work you have done before. I needed the inspiration!
I haven't begun mine yet, and probabaly won't until after next week. We have only one place in town other than Walmart where I can get supplies, and I have made it over there yet. It's Joanne's, a fabric store. Anyone have a Joanne's where you live? They have a pretty good selection of scrapbook stuff. Not like Hobby Lobby, but pretty good.
I had the same idea as Norma, to include what makes up my life. You just know there will be a picture of me with my grandkids, don't you, lol. And I've got a photo of Neal and me when we went to see The Temptations that I'm going to copy. Not sure what else.... I think I'll have to do 2 facing pages, if that's ok.
I gotta tell you... I love this idea and wish more Jaded Ladies would join in!
LOOK WHAT I FOUND!! Wow!! http://www.scrap-maps.com/ this site has scrap maps for every size scrap page...or at least a whole lot...lol It also categorizes them by how many pictures you want on each page what a find!
Also, Thank you very much, Norma, for the wonderful Kudos but I do not deserve them in the least. I am very nervous about scrapbooking, especially 12x12. I have been trying to work my way up to that size but I'm currently only on 7x7. LOL But I DID make a 12x12 about me...VERY HARD...much easier to make them of others. Anyway, if you want to see it, click here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=47812 if you look around on this site, or type scrapbooking into the search on the gallery page (not mine, but the main one) you will be able to see a lot of beautiful pages from other, more guruquilified people.
NORMA...gotcha! I'm still trying to figure out how to do mine so it may take a week or two to get it sent to everyone. And of course I will include pitcures of me!
Another question: Are you guys making several pages of the same page or are you copying it? I'm going to copy mine as the scrapbook store in Wichita does that...and it looks just like the real page, colors and all. The only thing is with the things I will use I don't think you will be able to see the detail...I don't know...whenever I get it done and go get copies I will start with one copy to see how it turns out.
TIFFANY...I guess I missed those links before, oops! I think your page is GREAT! I love the colors, the patterns and the butterflies! And you look GREAT too!
JANE...I too was thinking of doing two pages and yes it's fine with me! I can't figure out what to put on the page and think one won't be enough, lol.
MARTI...It may be a while for mine too, well, actually, I'm thinking two weeks at the most....doing the page and getting it mailed.
I love this and I too wish more ladies would do it! Thank you NORMA for coming up with the idea!
Cristi - I was thinking that since there are only 4 others doing it, I'll probably go ahead and make a page for each one of you, although I will be making them all the exact same way. Plus, I want to keep one for myself, to pass along to my kids someday, so right now, that's only 5. Once I get the first one all planned and done, the other ones should go quicklly. Emphasis on the word should, lol. It will be a little while for me to get mine done, too. But I feel sure I can get them done and mailed in a couple of weeks.
Marti - you can make real copies of the photos for cheap at the machine at Walmart. Just a thought.
Tiffany - I love your pages!! I haven't checked out the scrap maps yet, but will.
Okay I would do it but I don't know how to scrapbook. My mil does, she is a scrapbooking wiz............so maybe I could ask her.....................but I just wanted to let you all know why I haven't joined in..............
SASSY...it's really easy...I think anyone can scrapbook. Doesn't have to be fancy, because mine aren't, lol. Just a page about you. But hey, maybe your MIL will do one for you.
JANE...after I asked the question I started thinking about it and thinking that copies wouldn't be as good as the original. But I'm still unsure, think it would be faster and easier. We'll see...
I cannot believe how dumb I can be sometimes! All these times of having film developed and telling the people no to a CD was just stupid on my part! It wasn't abou tthe extra money, just me thinking I didn't really need a CD. I could have been saving myself sooooo much time from not having to scan pictures, jeez! And they would have been straight with the CD, lol! Yes, I learned a valuable lesson today ladies...always get a CD when having your film developed.
I'm going to get with it later and see if I can come up with something. I found some pictures but still looking for the "right" ones.
I don't know much about scrapbooking, but I do have a question. Do you ladies do the pages and then put them in a plastic sleeve, or just do a page on paper and leave it at that? I am asking because a friend showed me hers and had the plastic protectors and I wondered if that is the usual way to do it?
I don't think I have time to join in right now, but may someday in the future make pages for you all. I really want to take up that hobby.
Sue: The page protectors are a personal preference. I do "pop up" or "motion" pages and you can't access these inside of a protector. Scrapbook pages are not like photo albums where you want to perserve your priceless pictures. You are putting things like charms, buttons, old doilies, locks of hair, etc. Some people use foam dots to give depth (raises object higher than the surrounding area) as used with paper flowers. I hope some of this information will be helpful.
Thanks Cristina. Yeah I think I can do them, but may need some guidance from mil and besides that, she has all the stuff for it! (Papers, glue, scissors, etc) So why not use her resources? Besides she has told me many times I'm always welcomed to use her scrapbooking stuff and I want to start doing me and hub's pictures too, so maybe this would be a good time to begin!
I got some paper today to get me started. I do believe I'll stick to one page each, instead of 2 like I mentioned before, or else I'll never get them done. I saw some really cool stuff in the store - the decorations available compared to a few years ago is awesome! But I didn't buy anything that could get crushed in the mail. It was fun to look at, though.
I do normally put my pages in the plastic protectors only because the grandkids look at them, so I want to keep them clean. I won't be sending my pages to you in the protectors, though.
Ok, so I think we're up to 6 people now, right? I'm going to keep a copy of the page I make, to put with the ones you ladies send.
Mary and I are into making barrettes and hair bows for the girls, so I'll be a busy lady for awhile!
Hey ladies. I just want to say to exclude me. I do want to do it but I don't think I can commit to it right now, maybe the next go round?????? I just don't want to disappoint anybody is all. I do want to try it though, but right now I just don't think I can manage it.
But I think its a fabulous idea. I just wanted to come in to let you all know so that nobody goes out of their way or anything.
