Well, I couldn't believe it - I stepped on the scales this morning and I had dropped 2 lbs since yesterday - that's 4 lbs in three days!!! It's almost worth having a plateau if it does that every time!
So I'm down to 160.9!
Our St Annes Idol last night was really really good! Coleen Nolan did come and her little girl and mine were playing together as they are within a month of the exact same age. The kids clubbed together to get me some beautiful flowers which was a lovely surprise. It's possible that the stress of the last week, making all the last minutes arrangements helped with this 4lb loss - whatever, I'm happy it's gone. I was lying in bed last night, unable to get to sleep, with the evening's events going round in my head and I just had a big grin on my face thinking - I did that, I organised that - me!!
Michelle - sorry to hear about your asthma! Summer can be hellish for some people I know. ((hugs))
Robbin - so sorry to hear about your gain - I sure know how THAT feels!! But stick with it, it WILL come off!!
Elem - I do the same thing with the scales - I always weigh myself twice. If I get a different reading, then I do it again. then I pick which ever one came up twice. Rarely, I get three different readings - I just keep jumping on till I get two the same. Sorry to hear about your plateau. Wonder if it's something to do with the hot weather - mine didn't start till the start of our recent mini heatwave - it's possible our bodies are hot so they retain water to cool us down. Now it's got cooler here, I dropped 4lbs.
Tina - great to see you, love your new picture. Sorry - I haven't been checking in - where did you go? Was it a vacation?
Linda - Hi, glad your weather is cooling down a touch. Good for you staying away from the scales.
Morning...Just a quick check in this morning. I'll be back later when I hav e time to take notes and do personals. I had meetings all day yesterday and didn't get home till 10 lastnight. All I wanted to do was take a shower and go to bed. It was so hot and miserable yesterday, and I had such a headache. I just wanted to find a cool, dark place to crawl into. I feel so much better this morning, but we are going to be hot and miserable again today. Going to go up to my room and cut out the strips for the binding on the quilts and get them sewed together and then sewed on the quilts. Want to be able to watch a movie this afternoon and do the handwork on the quilts. Have a lovely day and I'll be back later to do personals.
Cheryl
Glad to see some familiar faces back posting.. it was getting quiet here There are still a few more that are missing though hopefully they are behaving themselves, having fun and will come back soon !!!
Cheryl ~ congrats on getting your quilt finished.. that must feel good !! Sounds like you are doing well sticking to your program.. keep up the good work
MRae ~ how are things going at work... any luck with getting the reservation problems all sorted out ?
Robsia ~ congratulations on your 4 lb loss !!
Robbin ~ arrgggg darn scale
Erin ~ have a safe trip home and congrats on having to get some of your clothes taken in.. that is a good feeling.
Ryanmi ~ yeah I would have to say that I am not all that crazy about the summer.. I love fall the most !! Over the past few years I have developed allergies, but I can't imagine what you are going through..sounds like no fun at all !!
Tina ~ good to see you. Sounds like you have been a busy bee. Was the card making party like scrapbooking ???
Meowee ~ so glad the weather has cooled off for you, hopefully it will last a few days !
Tricia, Michelle, TeaHoney, Lois, Liza, Shawn ~ drop in soon and say hello !!
Well I am off to see what kind of trouble I can get into for the day. Have a good one and keep on keeping on
This is me at our St Annes Idol competition yesterday. It's not an especially good pic of me, we were looking at someone else at the time who was also taking a picture. And I should have taken my glasses off. But I am on the right, Coleen Nolan (the famous one!) is on the left and my Daddy is the little chap in the middle - we three were the judges.
I didn't realise that my belly showed so much in that skirt - it looked OK in the mirror. But I guess the camera doesn't lie!
Hey girlies. Just popping in again. Mom is upstairs taking a nap. We were out all morning trying to find some cooler clothes for hubby and my daughter. It was fun cause I got to actually get my husband in the dressing room with arm loads of clothes that we could sift through. (he never wants to buy clothes for himself...it's always "i got enough") Don't know if you all have a Sears close by, but I would go to take advantage of the warehouse sales going on now.
Linda, yeah I would love to come check in while I'm in HK. I just don't how things are going to go just yet. If I have the opportunity'll to look for a internet cafe...you bet I'll check in!
Robsia, congrats on the 4lbs. taking a fast flight! That's so exciting. And also congrats on having a successful show. It sounds like it went really well and so much fun. You look great on the pic....love, love, love the skirt! (psst...you look like your dad) I haven't gone on vacation just yet, we're going to Hong Kong for 3 weeks. But I've been to mothers this past week for a couple of days.
Cheryl, sorry to hear of such a crap day you had yesterday. Sounds like no fun at all. Hope it is a better day for you today.
Louie, I have never done either scrap booking nor card making (before that). But I would assume it is. They said you can buy supplies, stamps and paper at a scrap booking outlet. It was a lot of fun...something I could totally dive into!
Hi everybody . . . once again i don't know where the day has gone . . . just been running around like crazy for some reason. The humidity is OK but it has turned just plain hot and that is making me really tired and my BS is up, too. Strange, all round.
Yes, CHERYL I can relate to your heat headache because i've got a bit of one myself today.
OK, LOUIE You can come fess up to the trouble you found, now.
Oh, ROBSIA You look gorgeous. Bet the tummy wouldn't be very noticeable except that you've got your arm back behind you Dad. Don't fret it, bet it'll be gone soon.
Have a good evening (or whatever it is where you are), ladies. Keep moving and shaking and heading in the great downward direction. See you soon.
Robsia...You are beautiful Loved the picture. Dad is a very handsome chap! Congrats on the 4 lb loss and on the success of the show.
Ryanmi...I can really relate to your heat and allergies. I was miserable yesterday and I'm miserable now. can't wait for fall and cooler temps to get here.
Robbin...Darn scales!! Maybe it's time to put it out of it's misery. You'd at least feel better. It's hard when our bodies go up and down with water weight.
Erin...Such a great feeling to have your clothes taken in. Hope you have a safe trip home and the kids are good.
Tina...Sounds like you had fun picking clothes out for your hubby. Bet you will be busy packing for you trip. We leave on the 23rd and I can't wait!!! I haven't been home in over 2 years.
Linda...Glad you don't have the humidity to deal with today, but sorry it's hot.
It's hot here as well and I have another heat headache. I did get the binding on the sides of the two quilts. Good thing I have central air, or I wouldn't of been able to work on them. They kept me pretty warm while I was working on them, and of course my cat, Princess has to test them out for comfort.
Have a nice evening and I'll check back tomorrow.
Cheryl
Ok, yes I have been miserable, but I got a bit of a lift this morning when I weighed in and discovered that I was down 4lbs!!! Woo Hoo!!! I'm takin' it! Hello?? Ticker?? Get ready to mooove...!!!
I am feeling a bit better...have been doing my breathing exercises and treatments. I always get a little nervous about my breathing when my asthma is flared up-I tend to overanalyze it, and try taking deep breaths constantly-guess to make sure I can?? So stupid...I do nothing to relax and actually help the situation!!
Rosiba, the dress is beautiful, and you look wonderful! I agree w/Linda-it's the way you are standing! Don't even worry about it!
Cheryl, I can identify w/the cat having to "test the quilt" as you work on it- one of my two (Bailey) insists on "helping" me type whenever I am on the computer! udebfbrebn...is from her! I think it means "Hello", but for all I know it could mean "Feed Me"!
Linda, Allergic to insect venom? Interesting...My allergies flare up around mid/end June every year, and are pretty miserable until mid-September. We've never been able to pinpoint exactly what causes it- my doc thought maybe I was allergic to grass for awhile...it's just a combo of everything! I get so congested that my asthma flares up=high humidity certainly does nothing to help that!! Hang in there though ...I will say this year has been much better thus far than last...for me anyway!
Erin, sooo cool that you've has to have some dresses taken in-I bet that feels like such an accomplishment! You should be so proud! Congrats miss!!!
Robbin, Send that scale packing for a few days...I only weigh in once a week, otherwise I hide the scale so I don't obsess! Especially in the summer, when I fall victim to the WWW and fluctuate all over the place when I know I should have lost something!! You've done so well thus far, and as long as you are staying on program, it will work out!!!
Louie, Yes, I would have to say I am definately a Fall/Winter/Spring person. I love the time from Mid-September through May...Hmmm...basically, that's the school year...wonder if that's why??? I really get into Fall and Winter though-love the holidays and the whole festive astmophere that goes along w/them...
Tina, if my mother were visiting me, I'd have slit my wrists after about 5 minutes! LOL... Sounds like you're getting everything ready for the big trip...yes, it would be cool if you checked in, but just make sure you take some pics to share regardless!
Michelle, MichelleRae, Tracy, Shawn, and anyone else...Helloooooo?? Hope you are all well! Today I will be doing some laundry and I have to find time to go for my nails/pedicure-what a mess I am over here!!
Hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend. I just returned from the grocery store, so now I am going to put my feet up and have a coffee. Hubby and I are suppose to go to friends this afternoon for movies and then it will be home to do all the usually boring sunday chores.. including laundry !!!
Ryanmi ~ whoooo hooo, congrats on the 4 lbs.. the girl is on Did you find time to get your nails done ?? Lucky girl.. love getting a pedicure.
Tina ~ I have never done scrapbooking or anything like it.. but the card making would be fun. One of the ladies at work always make cards and they are so nice and personal. So how many sleeps before the big trip ??
Meowee ~ I didn't manage to get into too much trouble yesterday.. at least nothing exciting !! Sounds like your weather is ever changing. We have a bit of cloud cover today, but it is still too warm for me.
Robsia ~ your picture is lovely and I love your skirt !!
Cheryl ~ hope you are having a good weekend. Sounds like you are making good progress with your quilt.
Tricia, Erin, Robbin, Liza, TeaHoney, Lois, MRae, Michelle, Shawn ~ hope you are all well.
Okay the kettle has boiled so I best get to getting. Have a relaxing Sunday everyone
Evening everyone....I can't tell you how wonderful it felt to wake up to 25 degrees cooler than yesterday. Wish it would stay like this through Sept. The scales were up a couple pounds this morning, but it water weight. All I have done is guzzle water the last couple of days. I think it has all gone to my feet! They are so swollen, I can't even get my shoes on this morning.
Got the binding on the quilts and I have already picked all the loose threads off of the queen size quilt. Going to start picking the threads off the king after I post. Tomorrow I'm going to start doing the french knots on the kids quilt since I will be waiting most of the day while the FD is in meetings.
Ryanmi...AWESOME!!! Congrats on the fairy fat mother taking 4 pounds. My cat Princess has to test out the comfort of all the quilts I make. She is also a fabric tester, which she knows iritates me to no end when I find her sleeping in my fabric. I have made her a very comfortable bed to sleep in, but she never uses it. She also helps hubby on the computer. She pretty much has her nose into everything.
Louie...Hope hubby and you had a good time with friends and watching movies. Laundry is an ugly word, but someone has to do it. At least I don't have to iron since hubby is retired from the military.
Tina, Linda, Robsia, Liza, Tracey, Shawn, Michelle, Erin, Lois and anybody else I might of forgotten. Hope you all had a great Sunday.
GOOD MORNING CHICKIES!!!!! We made it back to Alabama in 17 hours and hubby did most of the driving this time. Kids were great and we really enjoyed the trip home. Still a few things we didn't get to do while we were there but there are only so many hours in the day. My one night of splurge on the stromboli didn't seem to hurt me too much but still fighting the plateau and an absolutely obsessed scale!!!!! For the last week or so it has just gone bonkers. It will not weigh me the same thing twice for all the money in the world. Yesterday it did, and i thought it was cured but now today it is all over the place, have been on about 6 times already this morning. I refuse to move my ticker until the scale settles down, but since it has been varying by as much as 5 pounds i have no idea what i would record. I did well staying on plan and went restocking shopping yesterday and loaded up on fruits and veggies. Anxious to see some scale movement in the near future.
Also really good news on the hubby front. He was looking at our pictures from the trip while we were still at mom and dad's. We plug the digital camera into the TV so everyone can see at the same time, and he suddenly has realized how large he has gotten. Sad to say, i am excited he is feeling so miserable about himself. We spent a lot of time talking on the way home about what he needs to do and how he wants me to help, etc. I know if he could ever get started he will drop a lot fast and that should help keep him motivated. We'll see i know it will be hard at first but I am excited he is beginning to talk like he is ready to make a change!!!
Linda - glad to hear you are successful and motivated without the scale, i just don't ever see me getting there! Hope your weather is staying cooler!
Robsia - CONGRATS on the losses!!!! Glad to hear your Idol went well! You have every right to be proud, that was a huge accomplishment! As you can tell from my comments earlier the scale is drving me nuts!!!!! I can't seem to get a consistent weigh for more than one day and then i go back to all over the place. Oh well as long as the range keeps getting lower that is all that matters. I agree the heat has to have something to do with it! Great pic, don't sweat the belly in the skirt, a lot of that is the angle the picture was taken and the way you were standing. What is the other lady famous for, i am not familiar with her?
Cheryl - you are a quilting maniac lately, glad to hear it is going well, did you get the blood out? I agree central AC or death as far as I am concerned. Have to say though lots of my patients don't have air or keep it set at a point where i would have to say WHY BOTHER!!! At least getting some of the weight off seems to be helping with my heat tolerance.
Louie - Mom got one of the dresses a little tight but we let it go, i am hoping it will keep me well motivated and will really be important to check that when the scale just doesn't want to give it up!
Ryanmi - CONGRATS on the losses, wonderful! Hope you enjoyed all your pampering! Oh yeah and I agree whole heartedly heat and humidity make for really crappy breathing. I really have to be careful with my patients this time of year, even in the house they can really struggle when it is 90 degrees and 90% humidity with orange ozone alerts!!
Tina - the shopping sounds like fun, we have Sears but i don't think the particular sale you mentioned is going on here yet. I agree with Linda, I hope you can check in while you are in Hong Kong. How long will yoube gone for?
Well girlies, gotta run. I have most of the unpacking done but still so much to do and I need to be getting back into working mode! I am starting a new bible study with the Church this morning so that will take a chunk out of my work day. I am hoping to work myself back into it gradually but we will see. Hope ya'll have a fantastic day and keep on trucking!
Hey ladies, how is everyone? Sorry I was MIA over the weekend but you know I always get so busy. Saturday I took my daughter shopping, which I had been promising to do for a long time. We shopped allllllll day long. Sunday I had a Family Support Meeting (military) that took all day. I was supposed to start working out this morning with hubby but he ended up having the day off work so I didn’t get to work out but he works tomorrow so I will get my butt in gear then.
Linda – I am glad to hear you can hold out longer than the weather, I’m not sure I can. This www is driving me crazy. Ya know I just realized something. I can see everyone’s ticker except yours. Wonder why, yours just shows as a red X inside of white box.
Robsia – It is good to see you here again. Congrats on the 4 pounds. You look great in that dress, and the tummy showing is not bad at all. Just remember back to what you would have looked like in it before you started dropping the pounds. You look Great.
Cheryl – Hope the headaches are gone, So did you finish the quilt? Ho are the FD’s doing?
Tina - I bet you had fun getting hubby in the dressing room, I haven’t ever been able to get mine to try on clothes. He picks things up and says mmmmm Yea it will fit and we buy it. No fun at all.
Ryanmi – WOW 4 pounds weigh to go. Feels great don’t it. Thanks for the encouragement. I know it is WWW but it is driving me crazy.
Louie – if you need any extra laundry to do I am sure I could help you out. With 4 kids it is never ending at my house.
Erin – I understand the plateau and scale crazies. I thought I had broke my plateau but 2 days later the scales were up 3 pounds then 4 they have even been up as much as 8 pounds. Finally this morning they are back down to where I am only 1 pound from what the ticker says
Hey girls. I hope you all had a good weekend. Seems I have been more than preoccupied lately. But it was all good, I enjoyed spending the extra time with my mom and I'm sure Alyssa did because my mom spoils her! Nothing much new to report in the "weight loss" zone. I haven't been totally committed to exercise nor getting the amount of water I need down this past week.
I have a lot on my plate this coming week. I have to mow the lawns and a little yardwork, clean out the fridge and pantry, start washing out everything I want to take, do the great big pile of ironing of hubbys shirts, cut his hair, clean house and on top of all that...put the basement back together since having that flood. I've put it off so long cause I wanted to paint the floor, but that isn't going to happen now and I can't leave it all piled on top of one another when I have my aunt and uncle coming to check on the house while we're gone. They'd never get around it!
Linda, I totally know how that feels...when the day just seems to get away from you. We've had a lovely past couple of days here..sitting at 22 degrees mostly and a wonderful cool breeze.
Cheryl, you sound so excited and I couldn't blame you. Two years is a long time without visiting your home roots. You're frazzled days are coming preparing to leave! How long are you going for?
Ryanmi, wow!! 4lbs!! You are amazing! Okay, okay, okay...how'd ya do it?! Glad you're feeling better...this time of year sounds like torture for you. Don't worry about the pics..I just bought a new memory card for my camera...on the best setting it still takes over 2200 pics!
Louie, I think you'd have so much fun if you're the artsy fartsy creative type. I'm not all that artsy fartsy...but I loved being creative! And I do think they turned out pretty good...but it wasn't hard! LOL! I'm thinking about getting into it when I get back...you know something to keep my hands and brain busy. Seven more sleeps till we take off on the jet plane. We leave this coming sunday.
Welcome back Erin!! Sounds like you had a great trip...I'm glad everyone was cooperative on the trip back. And woo hoo for hubby showing some interest about getting onboard the weight loss track. You sound so relieved and excited. Don't worry once you start getting back into your routine I'm sure the scale will start behaving again. We'll be gone for 3 weeks.
Robbin, too bad you didn't make it to the gym with hubby. You sounded so pepped and raring to go. Oh well..you'll just have to put all that energy into tomorrows workout. My husband is the exact same way. I've even had to return a pair of shorts and a shirt yesterday cause he refused to go back and try it on! LOL!!
Well I best be starting on my list and hopefully get the majority of it done in the next couple of days. Have a wonderful day girls!
Hi gang . . . just letting you know I'm still out here . . . and still too hot. This is so unusual for us. Oh well. To top it off, the old work-project is all fired up. If this weather doesn't soon break again, I may have to start going into the office because it's air-conditioned and home isn't. Really don't want to do that because it takes twice as long to get anything accomplished in there.
TINA . . . sounds like things are getting pretty hectic as you wind your way along to vacation departure day. At least your weather is being cooperative.
ROBBIN . . . Isn't the WWW roller-coaster 'fun' My ticker seems OK to me . . . just stuck. But I have seen some like you mentioned . . . says they've expired or something. But talk about wierd . . . the last few lines of your post are in a different (smaller) type size????
ERIN . . . glad to hear you had a good trip home and glad to hear that hubby is coming around, too.
CHERYL . . . great to hear that things are a little cooler at your place and hopefully the ankles will go down soon too. Believe me I know that feeling . . . my ankles get so swollen they really hurt.
LOUIE . . . glad to hear you stayed out of trouble . . . too hot for trouble . . . but shopping is good.
RYANMI . . . Have you had the battery of allergy tests . . . I think I had a series of 200 or so years ago and came out allergic to almost everything. If the allergist had his way I'd be living in a plastic bubble. I don't think mine are bad enough to give up everything they'd like me to avoid (like my cats). Just stuffy, sneezy, and red eyes most of the time. No serious asthma attacks.
Well, off I go again. Congrats to everyone who had either an SV or NSV in the past couple of days. Keep on moving and shaking, gang. See you soon.
