The only thing I know is that it is hot.

My cousin's son's birthday party went well. I enjoyed the time there and as always hated to come home.

Guess I'm going to have to start mowing my own lawn again. It hasn't been touched in 2 weeks. I'm going to start about 5 p.m. an do the front yard first.

Dr's visit, dermatologist, went well on Thursday.

Took my pictures to be developed today and most of them turned out well. I'd forgotten about the ones I took at my sisters in the spring.

Going to go check on the status of the lawn mower and get started. Yes, I'll be careful in the heat and drink lots of water.

Morning all,

Ceejay we must have just missed each other. Glad to hear you are moving along okay with all those Dr appointments etc. I'll have to have a look at the status of my lawnmower as well. The grass is growing....grrrrrr.... it's not supposd to grow during the winter.

Jumped on the scales this morning and nearly threw them out!!!! I have gained 5 kilos since I have been away. So starting today, it is coming off again. I'm about to go shopping for some good and healthy stuff. Tomorrow morning I go back to the gym. It's time!!!!

Slept well last night. Mind you I have been kept extremely warm by a furry body parked as close as possible without actually sitting on top of me. And it is demanding kitty time as often as possible as well. We've had a couple of cuddles and then I have been off and doing something and coming back to her for more. She's not moving too far away from my side yet. She did poke a nose outside and sat about thinking for a while, but it was all too much and she had to come in for a snooze.

I uploaded those photos to webshots this morning as well. I haven't finished editing them yet. But if you want to see the full size pics they are there. Go have a look. I've put the sunrise series up as my screensaver for a while. Darn they are good. I am happy with those.

Hi ho, it's off to shop I go.

Default Happy Canada Day!!

I AM VERY SORRY I MISSED THE CANADIAN HOLIDAY. I HAD IT ON MY CALENDAR AND THEN JUST FORGOT! SO SORRY!!

Well I went and did it yesterday.....dropped a small table on my big toe! Don't ask. Then I had to make a hole in the nail to let all the blood out and relieve the pressure. . I'll leave out the gory details but it involved a tiny screw driver. No sense in having to make a trip to the hospital and sitting in the ER for 6 hrs in pain waiting for them to do it.
Can you tell this has happened to me before?
Pain is minimal so I am hoping I can still go to the sinus guy on Weds. Also hope I don't lose the nail.
Other than this, the day was boring. Very hot and humid but thank God we didn't get all the rain that surrounding cities have. Plus we are high on the Hudson Cliffs so our flooding is nonexistant. OK gotta go and elevate the foot!
Happy Sunday/Monday! Enjoy!!!

Meadow~ Thanks for the graphics....I should be shot for forgetting

Teel~ I can't believe only 30 days left!! Thje time is just flying by. Just your thoughts on it sounded lovely. Hope it will be everything you dreamed of. Always nice to "get away" from it all!!!

Happy~ so sorry the vacation is winding down but glad it was a good one. Hope the feeling lasts till Xmas!!! Before you know nit we'll be decorating our houses!! Just remember YOU said the C word first!!!!!

Ceejay~ Home again you traviling queen you!! Happy to hear you had anothe good time. Yes....lots of water while mowing!!!

Shad~ Sunday will be glued to you like a leach!!! No way is she going to take a chance of your're escaping from her realm again!!! Not for awhile at least. Enjoy the down time. I must go and browse the pics this week. Lighthouses are my favorite.

Oh poor Mel and her toe Owwwwwwwwwwwwww I cringed just reading it. My toe feels for you too. I'm glad you're not under water. The scenes on the weather channel are scary.

Going to be a hot one today. High of 98. I will get in the pool - though I have been saying that for over a week now and it never seems to happen.

I have been waking up around 6am for the last few days. Want to bet that will end on Wednesday when I really have to get up at that time and go to work? :s

Did you get that lawm mowed Ceejay? DH was drenched from doing ours yesterday.

Did you entice Holly into the bath Teel? 29 days till holiday - how exciting! Can we all join you?

Meadow, I loved the eh part of your graphic

Shad, I think Sunday is going to dig those claws in and attach herself to you. Poor kitty. At least you know she loves you.

Ok, coffee's ready. I'm about to go get a cup and look at Shad's pictures. Have a fun Sunday y'all.

Shad~ you have a real talent for photography.
Mel~ OW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meadow~ happy Canada Day!!!!
Happy~ are floating in the pool?
Teel~ HI!!
Ceejay~ glad the pics were nice.
PW!! MRS MAD!! and all hellooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Yesterday was nice for all of us. I am really suffering with allergies. Much more than recent years. My eyes are constantly weeping and my head and body ache but with meds I am hanging in. Eveyone is taking summer wheat off around here right now. I am thinking that is the current culprit.
DD has been exhausted and having meltdowns which are unusual for her. She had 2 looong sleeps in a row. Hoping for another tonight. I slept in til 10 am this morning. It took some gentle nudging to DH's backside to get him up with DS at 7 but he did. I needed to sleep.Just having a coffee and rhubarb muffin right now.
DH accomplished so much yesterday. He was in a great mood( his back must have been feeling okay). He finished the swingset from moving it and did the last sanding of the drywall in the bathroom( ready for primer) and did other chores around the house. I baked and did housework after the market.AND harvested my lavendar. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
We headed up to the lake at 5pm. It was pleasant. Didn't seem to be as much partying going on as last year, thankfully. There were a couple of passive aggressive digs made at me by my Mom and they had all celebrated my Dad's bday on Friday night with a cake and gifts and I was not told of the plan. AND they could have waited til everyone was together on Saturday. My Mom has issues with us not going and staying for 4 days like everyone else. I tried it once, hubby wont stay and the kids were soooo unhappy and none of us slept and we only live 25 min away.
My parents had planned to take DD to the rodeo in Aug which is the same weekend as our friend from Tokyo is coming. So I cancelled the plan with my folks. My Mom went on and on and on about the rodeo to DD. I had not even mentioned the rodeo plans to DD. It wasn't until Aug. My Mom went on at length to me about how important this all was to her. I told her that in the scheme of our daily life is was not a huge deal. There were millions( literally) of things to be down and taken care of between now and August and it just hadn't come up yet. Needless to say she had DD in tears because "Her mommy wouldn't let her go to the rodeo with her Grandparents." sigh.
breathing and letting it gooooooooooooo. I do focus on the fact that my parents are kind and loving( in their own way)and I DO have parents, their intent is for the best...............
Done venting.
I had to listen too all of them complain about their cleaning women after supper last night. Now I am done.

There was much wind and a bit of rain but the fireworks did go off at 11pm. They were beautiful. Kids conked out on the drive home. I did the "feed the animal tour" after we got home but Domi the gerbil had chewed a hole thru his cage and was missing. We did find him happily hopping about in the diningroom. We caught him, taped up the hole in the cage and all is well. I was certain Rainbow had had a gerbil snack.

Todays plan is to R&R for the rest of the morning. I need to do some Avon work and I am still working at putting school stuff away and cleaning. Oh, and priming the bathroom. DH will cut in, I roll.

Much love!!!

Morning all,
I've just got back from an hour long trip to the Doc. Well I left here at 7.55am and waited until 9.07am for my turn and then spent precisely enough time for him print a blood test form and a prescription for my fluid tablets and take my blood pressure. I bet him that the BP was up - it was. I told him I have gained 5k - he said that will do it. He told me not to lose the blood test form. I told him it would go on the fridge as a reminder not to open the fridge door. I left at 9.13am. That would have to be the quickest patient surgery he has today!!!!

So whats on the agenda today. Gym later when it warms up a bit (yes it is cold in the house) a trip to Shad Heaven (the hardware store) for a new toy. A couple of phone calls to the Agent looking for my pay for the last couple of weeks. Someone is holding the money somewhere and I want it. A phone call to Breastscreen Australia - yep it's that time again. And a whole raft of housework and kitty cuddling time (if she comes home - she got the pip with me going out early this morning)

Poor Mel's toe Get better soon. How did you manage to do that????

Happy - hope you enjoyed the pictures. I think I will have to break up that Wollongong file. It is getting too big. Maybe two albums I think. Some pics are also similar so I might just ditch a few as well.

Holly - glad to hear you are approaching the folks with dignity and decorum. Families hey - can't live with them, can't live without them.

Right - gotta get moving. It's too cool to hang about

Shad-I hope your two weeks back in your own turf will be relaxing days. Your pictures look very serene, shades of things to come? Will you be taking it easy? I hope the gym work makes you feels tight and ship shape again I actually thought about doing pushups the other day while watching the women warrior workout tape I got from the library, I'm not past the mind part yet. Have you been missing AB? He is in New York at the moment promoting his lates cologne. Here is a little reminder of why he is so sexy

Holly-you sure have worked hard for your Avon success. It boggles the mind with your family messing with stuff. Breathe and move on

Happy-jeepers, if I could actually get up at 6am I could be a morning exerciser. I still think that is the only way I'm going to make a habit of it. I just find too many excuses later in the day. Make sure you wear your sunscreen, 98 degrees, yowzers! Wear your Elvis shades too

Ceejay-did you survive the lawn mowing? Did you wear a hat? No flip flops right? Two weeks growth, did you have to take a scythe to it first? Welcome back

Teel-did Holly sense you were going to suds her up? Did she hide under the bed? Did she soak you in revenge? Stay cool!

I spent most of Canada Day in the pool with the kids. The lady next door even popped over for a dip. Three feet of water looks pretty nice when it is sweltering! Jeepers, I want to have some muscle. I was watching my Warrior workout tape and she is doing these pushups and I was just sitting there with my mouth open (Melanie Murphy, the instructor, is a karate fourth degree blackbelt). She did hands shoulder width apart, hands facing in, hands facing out. Who knew there were so many places to put your hands doing a pushup? I want to be a female version of Errol Flynn in Robin Hood *it was on televison yesterday, who says I'm affected by the media? Whine, snivel, why can't I strength of body instead of fat storage? I'm off to seek out some fruit/vegetables to chomp on about it.

Hello everybody? How hot is it?

Mel--You asked me in an earlier post what I was taking for the allergies. It's Allegra D and Astelin nose spray. My sinuses are acting up over the grass from yesterday's lawn mowing.

Meadow. I did not wear flip flops, but I didn't get to finish the yard cause the lawn mower died. It needs a new fuel injector but I don't know how to put it on. A co-worker said that he would do it for me.

Shad--Could you send some of that cold air this way, please. As Happy mentioned it's hot.

I'm over my calorie limit as always but I've decided that I'm jumping back on board. I saw a picture of myself and wondered who that fat old lady was. Yikes, it's me.

Have a good one.

Ceejay~ You really made me laugh this morning. When I se a pic of myself I almost die!! OMG I know the feeling. Thanks for the info and I'll look into it when I go.

Happy~ Here's hoping Wednesday isn't too tough to get back into the swing of things!!! We'll all sing a song to wake you up!

Holly~ Hope your sinudses too feel better. The clinic has been soooo mfull that they have cancelled me 3 times now!!!

Shad~ sorry about the weight and BP. You've been traveling and working away from home for a long time. Guess it takes it's toll somehow.

Meadow~ HE IS JUST TOO CUTE!!! I saved him to my computer. Never know when I might need him again
3' of water sounds mighty good to me in this humidity!!!
Errol Flynn is a good choice but I would have thought you would naturally pick AB!! Lovely slide show!! Nice to see first thing in the morning....gets the blood flowing!

Funny I ljust ost internet connection but when AOL reconnected, I still had this post!!! Lucky me!!!
No Mall today. Foot does not like hanging down. No loss as it's not very nice outside. More rain on and off till Weds night. sigh. I have some reporting to do downstairs for the weekend and instructions to get for the Holiday tomorrow.... so I am off.
Happy Monday and have a great day

Life interfered and I lost my focus. I worked loooong hard days all last week I have finally caught up on some sleep. Hubby has almost finished the bathroom. My allergies are worse than I ever remember.

I slept in til 8 this morning, grins.Feeling rested, hurray, no headache, irritable but meds should fix that. Had coffee out on my swing and now having natural PB on a mulit grain bagel. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm My boy with peanut allergies is off for 3 weeks. We will be indulging.
It is a hazy, humid 22C/74F but going up to 29C/88F, ew. I was trying to decide whether to do housework or gardening first. Gardening it is!!!
The exercise will feel good. I want to transplant some grasses.

I am completely smitten with Matthew McCaunaghy. I know he has been around for a while but I dont really have time to watch a whole movie. I saw him in an interview on Oprah. He is just sooooo cool, eccentric, funky and a total babe.I watched How to Lose a Man in 10 Days on TV last night, also with Kate Hudson, who I adore.Love her mama, Goldie, too.

Yeah, the boss got us a new computer this week end. It's just about taken all day to get the reports done. Then I had to figure out how to back up the cd's with out the Record Now program. This computer does like my uncles.

Mel--Glad I made you laugh. I started my journal again at 3fc. I really do not want to look like this for the rest of my life.

Holly--My allergies have been worse this year also. Have fun doing the gardening. All I have to do now is take the weed eater after mine.

Shad--I know you can get those extra pounds off. It may just be fluid pounds and that marvelous little med may do the trick.

Happy--Are you relaxing tomorrow? Wish I were but this holiday has fallen on my day to work. Can't complain though it is overtime.

Madcat, Carla, Meadow, Teel, Tig and Suzi hello

It's holiday weekend for most of you. Here today it is the 4th of July so Happy Birthday to all our American friends. I'll get into the graphics later as I need to go shopping for a few things and I'd like to do it sooner rather than later.

Hit the gym this morning for an hour and 15 minutes. I will probably be very stiff tomorrow although I did start slow and light for the first time back in weeks. I'll build it up again over the next two weeks or so.

I've cleaned the public end of the house from top to bottom and thrown out a fair amount of junk. The kids will come in for a few things too, which may be handy as DS2 and GF + child are moving into his house in a couple of weeks. I don't think that they have a lot of stuff. They can pick and choose. The rest will go. Maybe I need to have a Garage sale??

Anyway I had better get on with the day. I'll be back.

Oh and guess what. I had a message on another thread from a lady calling herself MaryL. Now some of you might remember her as Leuelu. She comes from Auckland NZ and last heard of was buying a takeaway bar with DH. Anyway, she may come back and say hello.
