Mel - forgive me for doubting you. I missed the reference to Holly's birthday. I am on my knees.
Been to the gym. Done the washing, now it is nearly time to hang it all out. Then on with the painting. Weight is still stagnant. But at least today I haven't gained.
Had a great day with Chris yesterday. We did nothing but yak and did a little shopping - got some stuff for the week, but couldn't find a lot of the stuff I was looking for. Probably yakking too much.
I'm really looking forward to the bananas coming back onto the market. Haven't had any since Cyclone Larry wiped out the North Queensland crops earlier this year. According to gossip they will be back around September which isn't that far away. There are bananas in some shops but they are at around $14 a kilo. I ain't paying that much for sure.
No thyroid problems Ceejay, but water retention certainly is a factor although I do take a diuretic to counter it. Doesn't seem to be working all that well for some reason. I am also getting cramp in the legs and feet which might indicate a potassium shortage somewhere along the lines.
Okay, coffee is gone, washing machine is finished. I'm off to do some work.
GET OFF YOUR KNEES YOU SILLY WOMAN!!! AND NO....YOU CANNOT COUNT THAT AS EXERCISE!!!
THIS IS A FLY BY POST. RAIN, LAWN FURNITURE ALL OVER THE PLACE, LEAKS AND A BROKEN DOORBELL SYSTEM RINGING IT'S FOOL HEAD OFF DOWNSTAIRS AND LETTING THE WHOLE WORLD INTO THE BLDG! :FAINT:
Sneaking in right behind Mel, just like the good ole days!!!!
I didn't remember my own Bday until I got a card on Thurs.
Thanks for the warm wishes. It is a warm fuzzy feeling to be remembered.
I had an amazing sleep and did not have to set the alarm. I woke at 7 but lallygagged in bed til 8...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
It is a beautiful 16C/61F outside!!!! A High of 24C/75F...wooohoooooooo perfect. Calling for some thunderstorms but it will still be delightful.
Today was supposed to be all about gardening but I will have to do a run into town for some stuff. We need rodent foods and I want to get a toilet paper and towel holder for the bathroom. It looks good, needs 1 more coat of paint. It is more yellow than I had anticipated. My tile ,floor and shower curtain are cream and beige. I also want to get a blind for the window. I am thinking a light beige matchstick blind will help settle the yellow down . And I have an old window frame( about 4'X4") that I will do a paint technique on and then put mirror in it. it will almost fill a whole wall, the only wall. It is a long narrow room. I LOVE this part of renovating!!!!!!!!!
Had an eye opening convo with DH last night. He came in from the shed all excited about the shop kitten there and how it plays fetch. He then assumed i would know this because i am here all day. I dont know a darn thing about the little gaffer. I certainly dont have time<ever< to sit in a lawn chair, have a beer and play with the kitten. I would LOVE to but it just ain't gonna happen. I saw all kinds of lightbulbs flash in his head. He seemed shocked. I think he finally saw how little free time I have. I have said it a hundred different ways but this time I saw it sink in. Very cool.
Yesterdya I did VERY well at the market. DS came and had a yard sale. He earned $4.The rest of the day was spent visiting DH's folks and some friends.
I did well money-wise. Found a perfect coloured light wood matchstick blind for $6. Food Basics had chicken on for $1 a lb but was sold out.
I had someome follow me into the parking lot and into the bank and then tell me, " good driving.". I said, "thanks". She then said , "we were in the turning lane and you pulled up beside us and turned in front of us. " I said, "sorry". She just stood there with her husband. I asked," what do you want from me.'" Then they just walked away. So I left the bank and went back to the intersection. There are 2 straight lanes and a turning lane they were in a straight lane, I was in the turning lane. I was not at fault. It was so weird. Can you imagine going out of your way to tell someone they made a wrong turn. To pull into a lot, turn off your car, follow someone into the bank machine foyer, while they are using the bank machine and then just stand there. These people were 60ish. Very twilight zoneish. LOL!
Had a nap.i have left over spaghetti for supper. DH swept and vacuumed and painted!!! He is wild and outa control, gotta love it!!
I need to clean the kitchen.
OMG!!!! WE OWE BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES TO TIG!!! I WAS GOING THRU AN OLD DIARY AND ON THE BACK PAGE WAS A CALENDAR OF SORTS AND THERE WAS TIG'S BIRTHDAY DATE 7/15...............RAN OVER HERE AND THERE ARE NO CELEBRATORY POSTS FOR THAT DAY.
SO SORRY MISS TIG!!!!!
I DO HOPE THE DAY WAS A GREAT ONE AND ALL THE BIRTHDAY WISHES CAME TRUE.
Well, I am about the same for doing my challenge. I did not eat at night about 50% of the time. I did do my yoga class and have been doing some gardening so I am moving my body a bit.
I will weigh in shortly.
A lovely day out there. Supposed to rain for the next 4 days so I have yard work on the agenda today. 2 kids off today, 1 mia and 2 will get here whenever. I am sooo laid back. Sometimes to my detriment. Other care givers wouldn’t stand for this...oh well. I like the flexibility.
I have an Avon order sitting on the porch.House needs minor tidying. Hubby really stepped it up this weekend. I commented last night about what a great weekend it was. He rolled his eyes. He puttered at chores all weekend, as did I (as I always do). It was just 1/2 the usual load for me for a change so it felt great. I do love the feeling of all of us working together. Eases up some resentment. He still had beers with friends and watched the race. It is not like I cracked the whip. AND there is a lot more that could have been done but I didn’t even mention it*giggle* I was very gracious *giggle* .
Made final plans for August 12th when friends from Japan will be here and hubby’s whole family will come for a dinner. FUN!!!
And it is hubby’s parents 50th in Sept. Trying to figure out a gift. My idea was to hire a photographer to come the day of to do a family portrait with all of us in it.
hello to all.Nice to find the forum open again...last time I tried to get in it was shut again...still here I am.
Well its still roasting in a heatewave here in England. Some lucky people have had a few thunderous storms but here in Suffolk we have all been waiting with baited breath for nothing. Oh I really hope it is coller by the south coast next week..NEXT WEEK!!!I am on holiday!!!
A BIG sorry to Tig for not sending her birthday greetings....tut tut from me too.
Holly had her hair cut last week and I thought she would be all the cooler and more settled for having her winter coat off, but it doesn't seem to have really helped in this heat. Its a bit better today ..in the high 20's rather than the high 30's.
did get to finish the yard last night. I had changed the oil on Saturday but couldn’ t get the air filter to tighten. Last night I tried once again. I called my neighbor across the street to see if he would check things out for me. Good deal, it was not my intellect towards the mower. The screw had stripped out that goes to the carburator. He told me a new mower would be less expensive than a new carburator. That figures, the lawn mower is almost 7 years old and really have had no problems with it till now so that I guess is a blessing in itself. He told me how to finish the yard. I felt like the mower had a broken arm with the tape on it, but hey it worked. Guess, I’ll be shopping for a new mower this week end.
Sunday was a good day. Woke up earlier than my uncle and decided that I had enough time to exercise before breakfast. He has a stamina bike like the one I have and rode that for 30 minutes to burn 500 calories. I need to do that every day. One of my cousins from Little Rock was at church Sunday morning. We had a brief visit before services began. It was good to see him. My aunt and uncle usually go out to eat after church services. I ordered the broiled chicken, after all I didn’t want to undo the 500 calories burned before breakfast.
After I got home I decided to prepare some of the veggies that my uncle gave me from his garden. I steamed squash and fried some sausage to make a casserole. A 2 oz serving of sausage has 16 grams of fat. I decided that 1 oz would be a better choice. Instead of putting the casserole altogether I divided it into individual servings. I’m having this for lunch today and also made some cole slaw, crowder peas and chicken for tonight.
I had another IBS flare up last night but this time it was just severe cramping. I didn’t take any Zantac yesterday and paid for it last night.
It’s been a busy morning so far trying to get caught up from the week end. Need to get busy.
Holly--good for you in doing 50 % of your challenge.
Teel--good to see you again also.
Happy--don't work to hard. Need to get started myself. Enjoy the nice cool days.
Guess I didn't get here yesterday. Naughty me. Must have gotten enthusiastic about work Not Likely Shad. Today will be more of the same. I have to go for a medical this morning and we all know how I love the medical profession hey? Anyway EVERYONE has to do this before they are allowed on site. I've also got to forsake my contact lens for glasses as well, that's going to send the blood pressure up somewhat! Then I have to do yet ANOTHER bloody induction. I tell ya - I am completely over inductions. I'm nearly ready to tell them to shove the lot. One day I will actually do some work! The one that truly took the cake yesterday was that I have to get some safety boots - steel caps etc. But I have a pair that is very new only worn for a couple of weeks and they are JB's. Not good enough you have to have this particular style and this particular shape and you have to go clear through to the other side of town to get fitted for them. I'm sorry I am not going there - I don't bring my car into town and it will take me about 50k out of my way to get there. There is a branch of the same outfit just 20k from my home. I can go there on my way home from work. But we only use this one - tough. I will check Salisbury out and let you know the size and you can order them from here. After all I only had to go try them on. I wasn't buying at either store. It's a stand off at the moment but the decision must be made by Friday because that's when they are to be ordered. Hey ho. I might be looking for another job soon - I will be deemed unco-operative. Tough hey.
Tig - I'm so sorry. Happy Birthday for days gone by.
I hope the visit with Suzi went okay.
Gotta go, trains to catch, shower to be had, lunch to make, work to fight over.
Shad ~ Geez, man, it sounds to me that they are the ones being difficult instead of you. Sometimes it just isn't worth the aggravation. Why can't you wear contacts? Is it a health and safety thingie? And it seems goofy to have to buy a particular type of footgear for a contract. Yark!!
Tig ~ Happy bday (belatedly)
Ceejay ~ Sorry to hear of the passing of your mower It had a good life.
Teel ~ Poor Holly. It must be hard to be a doggie in the heat. I am sure the South coast will be better. Heck it is even cooler here by the lake.
Holly ~ Glad to hear things are going well for you. It's been good that it has been cooler, isn't it? I envy you your flexibility. The people in the parking lot seem as if they perhaps take their lives just a tad too seriously. Scary though – you never know when you are going to run across someone who is quite crazy.
Happy ~ Hope the pace slows down soon.
Mel & Shad ~ You guys make me laugh!
Mel ~ Hang in there kiddo! Let someone else clean up the mess.
Hope Suzi is still having a fun time in Disney. I love WDW. I even spent my 30th birthday there with my ex (5000 years ago). It is one of the few nice memories I have of my time with him. It is funny to remember that he wasn't always a self-involved psychopath.
Anyway, I better get a move on and get to bed. Early gym morning tomorrow. And I'll be at work until at least 6. Yawn.
Oh no Madcat, I am the madwoman. No one else complains like I do.
Went for my medical - they were only 50 minutes late - I had to call and cancel a couple of other meetings.
I breathe - therefore I am
I see - therefore I am
I hear - therefore I am as well.
Not dead yet. But with all of those forms to fill in, at least 80 trees are dead. Doc tells me I am flexible - he can't touch his toes much less get both hands on the floor. Not a tremor when I have to stand straight and still and keep both arms out in front of me. Can twist with the best of them. All those lessons from Chubby Checker coming back to haunt me! Gym has a lot to answer for. BP is perfect - better than the docs as well. No sugar in the piddle test, no alcohol in the bloodstream, and my lungs functions better than most. Well, well, well.
Two problems coming up - my hearing (I knew that - but I've been trying to ignore it) and my weight (so what else is new) However I figure the nurse made a boo boo there because she wrote down 68kg and I reckon she mean't 78kg as when I put myself on the scales I reckon I was 76. Still if I have lost 8kg by going to work, maybe the medical wasn't such a bad idea. Anyways I am still either overweight or obese by medical standards. Shucks.
Well better go blast off a few more people while I live to tell the tale. I have discovered that there are only about 3 people on my team who can actually use SAP and know what PM actually is - and who can actually use the computer. I have to interpret the doco that they are writing. This should be fun!!! Maybe I should get get Happy and Mel over here - oh and Tig too - well why not all of you, we could all get sapped together.
Yeah, the boss man has left for the day. Wish I could go home, but I still have another 3 hours. It has been quite.
I did call the gyn to make my 6 months check-up and the earliest date is August 17th. Yesterday was no fun at all. Even told a coworker where her boundaries were. She needed that though and I normally would not have said anything. It was nerves and hormones speaking. I tend to let people slide, but this has been coming for over 2 months. I’m not her advocate nor her boss and told her. She is a constant complainer/whiner--Her attitude is that she is better than any one else. I told her to take it to the boss. She’ll calm down for a little while.
I keep a daily log and attach it to my hand in sheet. The boss then reads it. He may have said something to her.
I need to run some errands before I go home tonight.
It’s time to make another plant check.
Shad--I thought about you last time while watching HGTV's extreme home's. They were in Brisbane.
