Mel and Happy - You two crack me up - really. Doing doughnuts in the pool and the chair. Well I never.

Mel - I hope Jen is okay. Good news about not operating. Give her a from me.

I did intend to come back last night but the tv overrid everything and when I woke up it was late so I went straight to bed. Had to get up early this morning to compensate for the things I didn't do!!!

Miss Madcat - hope all goes well with the boob squish and you don't have to suffer anymore than necessary. Ooooh you are going the whole hog and getting the dreaded pap as well. Such fun growing up isn't it? Still the doc seems helpful and thorough. He might be a keeper. We have such a doctor shortage here that you have to stay with the one you have because you probably couldn't get in to see another even if you tried hard or passed out on the street in front of his surgery. Lucky I quite like my lot isn't it?

Happy - it seems everyone is getting on the wagon and getting threads moved to the top area. I thought they were for groups such as the religious threads or like threads. Guess I was wrong and should have taken Ruth up on her offer all those threads ago! I wonder why they were put there.
Good going on the eating and drinking. I have been trying hard but these extra pounds are taking a mountain of shifting this time. Seems like I can eat right and light, exercise till I just about fall over, drink fluid - not always water but nothing sugary or with sugar substitute and not lose anything. I can only hope that the inches are moving - but I shan't put money on that either. Pain in butt.

Better go. I'm at work and should try being good for the first week at least.

Luv ya all.

A NEW SONG FOR HAPPY TO HUM HAPPILY~

A-when I think about the good love you gave me
I cry like a baby (cry like a baby)
Livin' without you is drivin' me crazy
I cry like a baby (cry like a baby)
I know now that you're not a plaything
Not a toy or a puppet on a string
As I look back on a love so sweet now
I cry like a baby
Every road is a lonely street
I cry like a baby
I know now that you're not a plaything
Not a toy or a puppet on a string
Today we passed on the street
And you just walked on by
My heart just fell to my feet
And once again I began to cry
I know now that you're not a plaything
I cry like a baby (just like a little bitty baby now)
As I look back on a love so sweet, now
I cry like a baby (just like a little bitty baby now)
Every road is a lonely street
I cry like a baby (cry like a baby)
My heart just fell to my feet, you know I
Cry like a baby (cry like a baby)
You left the water running, now
(Cry like a baby)
I cry like a baby (cry like a baby)

BY THE BOX TOPS! ANOTHER MOLDY OLDY!

Ahhhhhhh silence here is deafening
Last night was a thunder storm sent straight from the himself. Not sure who was more afraid...me or the bird had to wait for the "old" dr downstairs this morning. I had started exercising and my foot is killing me. He said "What do you expect! You dropped an entire table on the poor thing." Doesn't think it is broken but the nail might be leaving. Warm soaks and leave that leg alone. I'll know when I can use it. sigh
Doing pretty good with Sonoma Diet. Really it's all about fresh whole foods. Very simple. I did feel a little "weakish" last night. I had a small piece of toast and a tsp of natural peanut butter. Just the low blood sugar complaining about the new "adjustments".
Occassional rain and thunder till the weekend. Poor Suzi....Beryl has headed for the Carolina coast...hope Florida doesn't get a lot of rain.
Happy Wednesday

Shad~ the rest in front of the TV must have been well deserved with all the redo work and new job starting.
Have a good week.

OK ladies.....I am out of here.

Good morning chicks,

Another day of temps in the 100s. I went to my other office/cubicle yesterday. Whereas I freeze in the main place - in this one I expected to see the himself going to the ice machine for a drink of cool water. All throughout the day I heard "Gawwwwl-leeeee is it hot in here" (Golly with a southern accent which replaces the northern ). It is quieter in this office but I was roasting. Pool water temp was 87 yesterday - I imagine by today it should be near 90 which is actually too warm to even be refreshing. I did get a good swim in last night. No twirling - just straight on swimming Eating wasn't the best. I had a cheese danish for breakfast which wasn't near as good as I would have liked it to be. Lunch was 2 pieces of left over pizza and a fruit cup. For dinner we had grilled hot dogs and beans - one of DH's favorite with some sliced veggies and cantelope melon. I ate on the light side of portions, got alot of fruit and water in so I don't feel too much like a salt mine this morning. Today it's back on track again.

I lost an hour and a half of intense work yesterday - stupid Lotus Notes seizes up periodically. And I had just hit save when it hung up. Then they wonder why it takes you so long to get anything done. Tommorow we are having a team outing - lunch and bowling. I realized yesterday going through the motions that with my knee I can no longer bowl. Or at least probably shouldn't. Guess it will be me and my other "gimpy-knee" coworker sitting on the bench cheering the others on.

Make it a good one, life's not a rehearsal.

Just in to say hello. I'm taking the internet course this week and it's requiring most of my time. The test is Friday. Will be back then.

I had a nice suprise yesterday. My sister from Missouri had been on vacation in Florida and stopped to spend the night. Think they brought in something that I'm allergic to. I'm really stopped up this morning.

Have a good day.

Afternoon All!

We had some wicked weather the other night. We had just gone to bed and it seemed as if a storm front was moving in. I got up to get a glass of water and the next thing I know the wind sounds like a freight train and it not only blows open the sliding door to the balcony, but it blows it almost completely off the track. All we could do was slam the glass door shut and hope the screen didn’t fall off and go flying (10 stories down would be quite a surprise for anyone on the street). Not that there was anyone on the street in that weather. We stood at the windows watching the road and there was so much dust blowing around it looked like a snow storm (the joys of living in a construction zone~!). The good thing is that the front at least brought in marginally cooler weather. Sleeping has been better the last couple of days.

Not much happening here. Work is very busy. Have to go for the old boob squish today and then I’m off to a meeting at another location. I should probably take the paper work for that with me in case I get held up at the clinic and have to go straight there. Stupid thing is that this office is literally a 5 minute walk from home – but I’ll have to come back here to get my bike (rode in today and my knee is really not happy about it).

Other than that I am feeling pretty ok. How is everyone else?

Mel ~ hope it cooled off for you guys on the coast. I think Jen’s Dr is quite right and that she should try not to worry as long as she doesn’t have anything concrete to worry about. I think my BP was probably a bit high because I was feeling stressed out over having to go to the doctor (and work). I’m not worrying about it.

Ceejay~ welcome back from Texas. Glad the trip went so well. Wow, useful men are the best. It always astounds me that we are surprised that men can take care of themselves and others. Maybe the world would be different if we just took it for granted. Enjoy your course!

Shad ~ You are so organized! LindaT would be proud. No cattle prod for you this week. How nice to be in a project where they don’t expect you to jump in with both feet and hit the ground running. And we have the same problem with a dr shortage here. I inherited this doctor when my old doctor had a baby and decided to move here practice closer to home… and I inherited her when my previous dr had to give up her practice due to a health problem. When I tried to get DH a GP I had to call over the place before finding someone who would take on new patients… and if it is bad in the city you can only imagine how bad it is in remote areas.

Happy ~ Hope the crabbies have removed themselves from your vicinity. As for the flaxseed, did you ever notice that the internet is a huge source of conflicting information?? I did some research to see if the oil is as good as the seeds themselves and of course heard every opinion under the sun. There was also some discussion of flaxseed vs fish oils for EFA delivery… I finally decided all I could do is try them and see if they helped which they seem to be doing. My pick of oils vs seeds is really a personal taste one. Flaxseed tastes weird to me, though I never thought about grinding them. And I think you repeated the twirling exercise just because it felt so good when you stopped!! Enjoy watchin the bowling – maybe you can be Team Coach?

Holly~ Keep your head down!! I think you are outnumbered!

I best motor and fish up something before I am off to the clinic.

Short, short, short.

Just too tired to think at the moment. Still trying to come up with the best ways of getting the gym exercise in an working in the city. I went tonight and did 45 minutes of cardio. I'm pooped. It always seems so much easier in the mornings. I really will have to come up with some new ideas.

Anyway just wanted to log in and see what everyone is up to and now I will just log out and go to bed. zzzzzzz night all.

Good Morning All My Worldly Chicks!
and a gorgeous morning it is....before the rains come There is a lovely breeze and even I dared to open the windows to let the "stink" out
Tomorrow is food shopping. there is an genmtleman that wants to go today in his scooter so I said I'd go tomorrow. One day doesn't make any difference to me. I like Friday shopping. Makes me feel like everything I eat over the weekend is "fresh". Silly Mel
Jen is much happier now and the bleeding has stopped again. She's much more energetic when it does. But the iron pills gaver her the runs. Told her to stop till she can see the specialist in 2 weeks. No biggy cause the blood tests came back perfect anyway
Better get my butt into the kitchen and eat breakfast

Happy~ Your pool has turned into a gian bathtub!!
Downstairs I had to work in one of the hotter offices so I know what you mean. One is freezing and the other tepid! No fun at all. Hope work goes easier and no PC problems.
BTW...good choice to sit on the sidelines. Better to be than to suffer for weeks afterwards!

Madcat~Your storm was the same that arrived here the night before I think Perfect description!! Ours was a 2 parter. The 2nd being the worst. Incredible winds! I opened the window because of the eerie sound. I thought a damned tornado was forming somewhere. Crash! Bam! Do you have A/C in the house? Or don't like to use it.
Hope the tummy area has improved.

Shad~ I was thinking......have you considered buying a piece of gym equiptment for those times where going to the gym isn't possible? Inquiring minds need to know these things Glad you logged on to say hello. Sweet dreams

Good morning chicks,

Just running by and waving frantically. The dirty air has finally gotten to me too - the sinus' are complaining loudly. Another 2 days of extremely hot weather and then it's supposed to drop 20 degrees on Saturday. That will feel downright refreshing. Hope we have a nice fresh breeze to go along with it

I'm sorry I don't have time to comment right now. Will try and get back here tonight. Don't work / play too hard

It's going to be a fun day for me. Guess who's

Default Hi all from the US of A

madly at everyone!!!!
Yes I am here and have internet access. I don't know how long for though. I just posted a huge post and it vanished so I will give the abridged version.
Friday: We headed off from Sydney to San francisco. The flight was long 14 hours but not as bad as I expercted. Although i think air travel is a little like havign a baby in that you forget how bad it was! LOL.
The plane was nice and BIG 747 jumbo. So we had plenty of room and I didn't feel closed in like I thought I would.
The folks at SF intl Airport were lovely, very welcomign and helpful, friendly and made everything comfortable after such a trip, We had a 2 hour stop over here and I even maanged to have some clam chowder at the SF soup company YUM!!!
Finally after 5 more hours on the plane we arrived in Orlando, lights all sparkling, The trip from airport to hotel was a bit of a killer $82 US later, you kinda feel a little high jacked.
I was glad to see the hotel Royal Plaza was nice and comfortable for us all and really convenient for DW parks. We were here for 2 nights.
Sat, MAGIC KINGDOM! Omy goodness. I loved it. I got so excited. We were up nice and early after a big breakfast at Denny's I know not diet friendly but after feeling like you have a hangover, pretty good and only $30 for the 5 of us! I love the way at the parks that Disney keeps everything a secret. You don't even get a glimpse of the castle until you are really close.
We arrived just as the park was opening, the characters, mickey, minnie, donald and pluto greeted us on the Disney train. It was so corney but I loved it. the park is lovely, so special and truly magical. Space mountain was a riot. The kids loved it, I also really enjoyed the interactive Buss light year game. We got really tired at about 4pm and hit the wall so we went back to the hotel to have a little rest. I had to wake the family or I am sure they would have slept until the morning. We managed to get ourselves together in time to get to the parade. We had wonderful views. The parade I have never seen anything like it in my life. It was so beautiful. the fireworks were spectacular!!!! WE purchsed a 7 day pass to the DWparks and so i am sure we will be back.
I better leave it there but this is to be continued.....
Sunday through to eds so far. We are off to the stores today to have a little rest from the parks.
adios everyone, children yelling!!!

Morning all,
I have returned. Not sure whether I am better or worse than last night. A furry bundle who shall remain nameless decided that last night (probably the warmest night of the winter) was a good time for snuggling up. Now all that fur generates a fair amount of heat and ends up with people throwing off duvets and sheets and sweating it out.

Good to see Suzi posting. Nice that you think of us while you are away. Not long to go to the time when you meet up with Tig now!

Mel - going shopping, going to the office, going out. Hey, you'll be as busy as me shortly. I've got a stack of things to do tonight because Chris is coming down from Japan en route to NZ and she will be with me for the day. I'm looking forward to seeing her. She tells me the doc has lowered the steroid level and her legs get very tired quickly so she doesn't want to go for a run anywhere!!!
I'll be back later to comment. Work calls for now.
