Hi,
My name is Tammy and I also have 100lbs to loose. I am from sunny Florida and could use some buddies.

I'm currently 300 lbs, highest was 320, and I'm only 5'2.
I'm 33 years young.
Married 5 years, with two kids 2 and 4 years old.

I would love to be a part of your group I am so tired of hearing people say you have such a pretty face. I HATE TO HEAR THOSE WORDS.

Please let me join in with you ladies.

Tina - here is the recipe for the cookies, although it's in British amounts so you'd need a kitchen scale.

Good Morning, everybody . . .

Afraid I'm moving a little slowly this fine day. I had a bad "hypo" in the middle of the night, so I sort of ate breakfast at 3AM to get the BS back up out of the "death's door basement". The weight-loss fairy told me I couldn't just call it "medicinal" and ignore it, so now the day is a bit out of kilter. :dizzy: Hey, this too will pass. I'll just do the best I can with what's available.

Here's a great big welcoming  for you Paula. You will love it here. So many people, such great support. People like Tina, being able to pass on both KFC and ice cream is a major acomplishment in itself. My hat is really off to you and everyone else who exhibits such determination in the face of food.

Have a great :goodluck: day, gang. Catch you later.

Welcome Tammy! Of course you can join us-- just jump right in :) So what's your plan for your losing and becoming healthier?

Congrats, Tina on your awesome weekend!!

I was 231 this morning...I'm thinking of moving my weigh-in day to Wednesday- I think that was what I was doing before and gives a couple days to recoup from the weekend. Anyway- that is 6.2 lbs total in 2 weeks. (only 1 lb this week though.) Funny...I remember a few years ago when I was doing WW I would have quite a big loss one week and then a small one the next. Maybe this is just what my body does...hangs on til the last possible moment, lol.

Well, I'm off to do my exercising. T-tapp today, my shins need a break from the treadmill.

ladylane06 01-30-2006 01:05 PM

Hey Ladies,

We're off to another week!

Tammy, :welcome3: thanks for joining us. The fact that there are still people joining is motivating

Cheryl, good for you staying OP yesterday. Hope you have a good time celebrating your foster daughter's b-day :woo:

Linda, hope you are feeling better and doing what you can

Emily, congrats on the 6.2 lbs loss... :cheer: that's great! Have fun with the exercise!

Tina, glad you had an enjoyable weekend and great will power on the choices you made, that is indeed progress. :carrot: Glad you enjoyed the links. I found that particular one very insightful as well. I will posted for everyone.

This is a very good article... it's a simple explanation. I found it interesting. It's very insightful and well worth the read:

How Dieting Works

My day has been good so far. I got my exercise in and it felt great :dancer: ...did I just say exercise feels great! :dizzy: ... wow, what a difference a month makes. Hope everyone is having a good day! :)

Hi, all. Haven't been by for a few days. Hubby has been a computer hog! You all are doing so, so well. There's so much energy. :carrot: Maybe I will catch some.
I got on top of the diet last weekend, nowI am going to work on bumping up the exercise this week. We walked on the beach last week. We went at night in an unpopulated area, and it was pitch black except for the INCREDIBLE sky of stars. I thought, "How could anyone think of this as exercise?"
I also worked out on Saturday, but yesterday started the "Sunday Slump." Who knows where that comes from?!? Looking forward to the week seems to get me down. Around Thursday, I snap right out of it. So, I know that is when I need the exercise the most! Tonight, I am going to make sure I don't gyp (sp?) myself! :nono:

ladylane06 01-30-2006 01:52 PM

Hey Sherry  ...yeah it's been a few days, we missed ya. Wow walking on the beach under the stars... your're right! ...that hardly sounds like exercise  ...on the other hand I would love an enjoyable evening like that but no such luck here in MI. We're having a mild winter but not mild enough for the beach.

Good for getting that workout in on Sat. I know it can be hard to get up and exercise... I think someone here jokingly asked if thinking about exercise counts  I bet we've spent more time thinking about exercising then actually doing it! I had to psych myself out, by saying "its only 20 min., and if I just sit here, 20 min. will have gone by when I could have been finished." No matter how much I dred it, I always feel better once it's over. :) So like you said, don't gyp yourself!

Mondays and weigh ins

:) Ok it's Monday morning weigh in for me.......
Beginning weight is 220.....and weigh in this morning I'm at 210! Wooohoo....

My short term goal is by Valentines day to be 205.....or less! LOL:) Of course I would prefer the "less"...

Sounds like you all had a good weekend and wow.........passing up KFC and icecream.........WOWsiers!!!! Good for you!!!

I'm getting on the mend myself......Amen to that......being sick is no fun......but I"m looking to brighter days ahead!!!

Another short term goal of mine is......getting on the gazelle again this week.....exercise is one of the major keys in losing weight for me.....

How about you? What are your mini-goals for this week?

Do you plan ahead for events.........to not sabatoge yourself?
What is happening on your calendar this week to plan ahead for so you can help yourself not to fail.......
for me it's Super Bowl Sunday.........we are invited over to watch the game......and so I'm going to bring some "snack" items that I can have......fresh carrot sticks...brocolli....and fat free salad dressing for dipping them in.........
dh suggested I bake some goodies that I can enjoy also......along with sharing with everyone! What a great idea!

Well I pray that you all have a great day!

hugs:grouphug:

Hey! Tammy! So you are from the south too! In other words :chicken: Fried Chicken, Gravy and all the southern comfort foods! Gets us everytime! Especially when you are a child and parents make you clean your plate! "There are starving people all over the world" they would say! I went to bed last night and just cried  I was sooo hungry!:carrot: But on the bright side when I woke up this morning I was not hungry! Sorry for the fussing! I am still hanging in there! Anyway, I wanted to say HI and welcome you to the group!

garnetfairy 01-30-2006 05:28 PM

Tammy - Welcome to the group! Of course you can join!!

Thanks Robsia - I have begun using Nutradiary too. I tried another place but I like nutradiary better.

Linda - Glad you caught the problem and fixed it in time. You could always count the breakfast and then have an early snack before lunch...no time limits on those I think.

Emily - What is T-Tapp? Congratulations on the weight loss by the way.

Tina - You did great resisting temptation the way you did, Keep it up and you will be down to your goal in no time!

Lois - so in another 3 weeks I will love to exercise...I hope you're correct!! Thanks for the link by the way.

Sherry - The beach walk sounds sooo wonderful. I love the beach, especially at night! I like to beachcomb and find empty shells for my collection. I dont get to go very often but I love it when I do. So sweet to walk along the beach with you SO!

Lori - CONGRATS on the weight reduction !! 10 pounds that is incredible. How often do you weigh??

mama4dmkd - I have found that the less I eat the less hungry I feel. But when I am eating I want more and more.

Well, my big box of exercise tapes arrived today! I got 17 tapes with one bid on ebay. There are some way too advanced for me but there are some that are beginner level that I can try out. There are even two for family/kid workouts. I figure I will save those for if I am a grandma someday.

I think someone asked me which WATP I have been using, I dont know if it was this thread or another thread so I will answer in both places rather than weeding through the posts to find the question. I have been using Weight Loss Walk out of a 3 dvd set called Walk The Walk. This dvd has different segments and if you do the whole thing it is 4.5 miles I think including cool down.

Way to go everybody - Keep up the good work!!

Weighing in days

Hi all,

I normally like to weigh in on Monday mornings......but couldn't resist getting on the scales during the week last week.....

however, I'm thinking if I change my weigh in day to Fridays.......that will give me extra incentive to stay on track on the weekends......

Weekends seems to be my trouble time.......and I think it's because we are not on our normal routines......more comings and goings...more company or going out to eat also......

But I'm very thankful for the first 10 pounds loss......and on my way to another 5 pounds or more to lose by Valentines day! I asked my hubby to not buy me sweets or candies for Valentines day.......but I sure would like some more rubberstamping equipment or cross stitching....
I like to keep busy in the evenings .......so I'm not tempted to think about eating! LOL:)

I'm feeling much better today so I'm planning on going for my walk tomorrow...and utilizing the gazelle also! Getting back to my exercising!!!

hugs for all,
:grouphug:

About those hunger pains...

About those hunger pains....

If you are really hungry and the ole stomach is growling........ggggrrrr rumble rumble...may I suggest drinking some water or tea....
in about 10-15 minutes that hunger feeling will go away....

And why is it that stomaches always growl the loudest during church services???? LOL......my stomach makes all sorts of noises and people actually turn around in their pews to wonder....."what is that noise?"I use to get so embarrassed.....but no more........now I say.......oh excuse me please...with that little smile on my face......(thought I'd share a funny with you all! :D

Just wanted to check back in and say we went out to the beach again tonight. We are in a coastal southern town, so we have lots of beaches, but lots of those fried EVERYTHING too! It was gray and foggy so we walked around the state park (that was closed! :s: Sneaky!).

I have to say the thing that works most for me is to eat lots of little meals throughout the day. I have breakfast, snack, lunch, two snacks, dinner, snack. They are all kind of small, but getting into the hunger zone signals big binges for me. I have things like an apple, baby carrots, a container of single-serving yogurt or cottage cheese, handful of nuts, light popcorn.

I had to do away with the big dinner at night because it left me so hungry when I got up in the morning, and right before I got home! I got home from work and wanted to eat the wallpaper! :hun: I did not think this snacking thing would work at all, but it surely is working. I thought I would eat and eat way too much, but I do actually eat less.

Well, see you all tomorrow. It's past my bedtime! Good luck to all. Tomorrow going to be a whole new day!

Cheryl120 01-30-2006 11:10 PM

Tammy....:welcome3: So happy to have you join us. Look forward to getting to know you better.

Lori....AWESOME:carrot: :carrot: :cheer: :cheer: 10 pounds is fabulous!!! Pass it my way...PLEASE!!

I have to say, I was not good tonight.  We had dinner at Pizza Ranch instead of Applebees for my foster daughter's birthday. I should of stayed with salad and a chicken breast without the skin, instead of having a couple slices of pizza along with the chicken breast and salad.
Just means I will have to workout extra hard with Richard and the gang tomorrow.:carrot: :carrot: Back on track tomorrow.:D

Till tomorrow,

Cheryl:hug:

mama4dmkd 01-30-2006 11:54 PM

Hi folks! My bad boys  wanted to go practice baseball this afternoon! So I got a really good walk in! Almost 1 1/2 miles! :woo: I am so ready for my urban rebounder to get here! It is about to drive me crazy! They said it would be here by now! Oh well I can still walk! I just can't wait for Sunday that is my weigh in day! I absolutely refuse to step on the scales until then! I am going to be sooooo sad if I haven't lost any of me! You know it's funny in a world where everyone is trying to get stuff we just want to get rid of all our fluff! Sorry I think lack of stuffing my face is going to my head! Or maybe it's from being home with my twin girls all day! I wish I could walk on a beach SOOOO romantic! With twin 20 month old daughter's, 6 year old and a 8 year old I guess the romance is gone from this house for at least the next 20 years or so! Anyway  hugs to all! Paula
