So need to begin to work what my mama gave me.

luckyducky 01-21-2006 12:33 AM

good evening chickies~!!!
After losing track of this thread ( which I joined early LOL) I finally found it back! I like what I am reading here, you folks have it together, support for each other, motivation, accountability, sincerity, you name it... Happy to read the successes and failures of folks, makes for inspiration and enlightenment!!! Keep on moving! (Now, that is a double edged statement!;)
Exersize is KEY!, I have found that by MAKING myself get up each morning and first thing I do is 1 Mile WATP that i just FEEL better alll day, and I know I have this secret inside that I am going to look like a beautiful person on the outside, just like I KNOW i am on the inside! I hope you all have that secret hidden inside you! I will also keep posting on here, I am on the last days of my own personal 21 day "make it a habit" challenge. And I will be starting another challenge after that, I AM COMMITTED to myself to change my lifestyle, I want to grow old and grayer(catch that?) I want to be riding my horses into my 70s and 80s. Can't do that in the shape I am in now....

garnetfairy 01-21-2006 03:21 AM

maysmav - how many of those cookies with whipped topping do you get to eat for a portion?

luckyducky - welcome back!

Just a quick note, cant sleep 2:21 am...

AndrewsMum 01-21-2006 06:54 AM

well i believe that everything happens for a reason and last nights emotional outburst (sorry bout that) had me feeling soooo guilty that i pushed myself harder than i thought possible on the treadmill this morning......i did 20 minutes (thats without stopping!) at 4.5km/hr :carrot: :carrot:

Good Morning...

Good morning

Just a quick check in. I got in another extra 10 minutes of exercise yesterday, so that's 30 minutes a day for the past 3 days. Definite progress. Today is my chosen off day from exercise. I actually woke up and thought about exercising... but will enjoy my day off, for tomorrow is my weigh in day! :fr:

garnetfairy, so glad you are better... dinner sound yummy... it's making me hungry :food: WTG on the loss of inches :cheer: I have not measured since I started this, I'm afraid I won't see any progress. I'm happy for your progress, keep up the good work!

I have heard that inside every fat woman there is a thin woman waiting to come out...I say let that b*tch loose ladies!!!
That's right! ...let her out!

Teri, congrats on the loss :cheer: When I worked my breaks were just like yours. I worked in a place where the outer isles of each floor equaled about a 1/4 mile, maybe a little more. We would have our two breaks and then lunch, so I would walk on my second break and during lunch and would do a RS workout in the evening. I did this for three months and lost 30 lbs. Needless to say, somewhere down the line I got side tracked  I know finding time is hard when you're working everyday, but I know you'll find time for you.

Cheryl
, glad you had a good day. It's good to get up early and get that workout in... it somehow makes the day go just that much better.

Paris, hang in there baby girl... not everyday will be perfect, but if you are determined, it will happen and remember tomorrow is a new day!

luckyducky, glad to have you back. You are so right... exercise is definitely the key. Sounds like you and I have the same routine :) I feel so much better knowing I've gotten that workout in. Congrats on your 21 day challenge too! Now unlike you, I have to take a day off each week... but I'm hangin' in there. This time last year I had quit already. I guess my mind set wasn't right. That is another key, you have to be in the right frame of mind for this journey to be successful.

Lisa, WhooHoo! ...what a difference a day makes. You go girl! I feel your excitement! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: One day at a time will get you there!

Hope everyone has a good Saturday, I'll be checking back later.

:grouphug:

Well, I can't speak for Medicare, but even the NHS wouldn't pay for that as it's classed as cosmetic and they only pay for cosmetic surgery in instances where there is disfiguration due to an accident for example.

It's the weekend!!

So how does everyone usually fare on weekends? Me, not so good, lol-- but I'm ready to change all that!
In fact, I decided to post to make myself accountable to someone...Just because it's the weekend doesn't mean a free for all- no fast food, still drink my water and still exercise. I will take tomorrow off from exercise.
Tonight I have a girl's group where we get together and eat! We all make a portion of the meal and it's tons of fun. Tonight we are doing chinese (making it, not going out at least) so I'm really going to watch my portions.

I'll check back later!

100 pounds in a year

Hi I'm Lori, SAHM...age 47...and I'd like to join this group if I may?

I'm 220 pounds....5 ft.......and I need to lose 100 pounds.:)

I've been overweight all my life (that I can remember anyway) and have lost 65 pounds one time ....but have children and have gained it back through the years...

I would love this kinda of support....for one another ...

garnetfairy 01-21-2006 12:45 PM

Well, my day began around 1 am when my UPS konked out and I had to excavate under my desk to reroute all the plugs so that the wireless network and my pc and printer will still have power until I can figure out what is wrong with the UPS. Bleh I hope it is repairable :(

Anyway, I headed straight for the peanut butter and had a bunch of that and then a banana. Totally off program there!!

Now I have to find a new place to put all the stuff I had under my desk so I can get down and deal with the UPS. Horrors!

I only have 710 calories left for the day! Damn peanut butter, get thee behind me! Wait a minute, I have a big enough behind, just go away, far away.

garnetfairy 01-21-2006 12:46 PM

Am I the only one who wishes our tickers could show the date begun??

LadyLai 01-21-2006 06:00 PM

Happy Saturday!

Good afternoon ladies! Well it'a good day! I excercised this morning on my total body gym (phew!), then went out to lunch with hubby at Wendys. This time I had the lg. chili, only 9g. fat compared to the 28g.fat salad I had last weekend! :D I then came home and spent about an hour sholveling snow, can I say my arms will be out of commission for the next two days! :D I managed to drop another pound this morning. :carrot: I'm not going to worry but take it as it comes. I figure if I'm not starving it's all good. Sooner or later I'll be freakin' out cuz it's not dropping! hahaha

April, :welcome: Looking forward to getting to know you better!

Jillybean, I guess you're at the open audition for biggest loser. :goodluck: I hope you make it!! Then you'll gain all the confidence you need to follow your dreams of singing. Maybe we'll see you on another reality show...American Idol!!

Lois, you're certainly trudging through your excercises! :tread: Great job! I know how you feel about "feeling good after excercising a few weeks", I feel as active as the skinnies in the world! I just may be a while before I look the part! hahaha:rofl:

AndrewsMum, awesome treadmilling! :tread: It takes a lot of committment to stand on a machine a walk in one spot for any amount of time. I used to do it with some really up-beat music,:dancer: now I just watch TV. To keep my mind off of the thought I need to keep up, it works pretty good too. As for your son calling you f-a-t, my four year old daughter says some innocent but oh so true things to me too. As soon as I take off my pants to change she comes running and hugs my leg and says, "mommys big leg" or she'll ask if I can fit in my tub. Mind you its a jetted corner tub, plenty of room for two! Just knowing that she's starting to notice that I'm bigger than maybe her friends mommies cuts you like a knife! :( I finally decided she won't have those things to point out anymore! Hang in there!

Cheryl, good job doing your workout tapes! Your lunch sounded terrific, I wish we had applebees up here. :hungry: Excellent choice you made.

LosingInLa, so sorry to hear of your friends passing. :( I hope your life begins to be a little less stressful for you. Don't worry about this past week. I know when you look at death in the face (the wreck, your friend) the last thing on your mind is being a calorie/fat counter. Square one is always a welcoming friend, everyday is all of our sqaureones!

Emily, I think listening to your body is very important while trying to improve our health. Just as long as we don't confuse a craving for something we think our body needs! LOL But resting is very much in need sometimes. Your girls night sounds very intriguing! I have to be very accountable for myself on the weekends, we tend to go out to eat at least once a day. So far, I think I am doing very well.

Robsia, thanks for the encouragement. I realised that I should be thankful for what I have lost and be excited about it. :woo: I laughed at the lady with the chocolate bar, those ppl are so funny. My neighbor was saying how UGH she felt since having her kids. She said, "I've put on about 20lbs. over the years." AHHHhhhhh poor baby! :stress:

Garnetfairy, awesome job making healthy choice for dinner and losing those inches! As for the peanut butter...blahHhhh, whatever! The day isn't over, keep up the fight!

Teri, thank you for your encouraging thoughts! That was great. I'm sure that being on your feet all day would definitely count for a calorie burning activity! And a 2.5lb loss is wonderful! I know exactly what you mean about the pants fitting. I said before, that I can now actually relax in them. I usually wear jeans out and about but as soon as I get home I go for something stretchy! It's funny cause they are the same pants as I have worn when I was 14.5lbs heavier, but now I feel skinny in them! hahaha

Paris, hang in there! It's a new day! You can make better choices today.

:welcome2: Lori! Come on in and join us. We basically have the same story as yourself. You'll find a lot of good support here, these ladies are the best!

PHEWWww! That was a lot of catching up to do! Hope you ladies have a wonderful rest of the day. Stay strong and powerful!

~tInA P.S. I decided to round down on the ticker today, I deserve it! hehe
