Lois, thanks for the information on the WATP and way to go on your progress with the workouts!!

I've won/ordered:

WATP - Older Adults
WATP with Leslie Sansone
WATP weight loss walk - this is the one I have been doing
WATP - Miracle Mile Walk
WATP - Two Mile Walk
WATP for Abs - 3 Mile Walk
WATP - Express Super Challenge - 4 Mile Walk
You Can Do! - Abs with Stability Ball
You Can Do! - Yoga

I am hoping that they are each different enough to keep me interested. I hope the Yoga is beginner level. I dont recall it saying in the blurb.

Lisa - I printed out your jokes and gave them to my parents, they really got a laugh out of them. Especially my mom. Funny thing is, my dad's favorite argument agains vegetarians is the one about cows being vegetables by default. Ha Ha Ha (unfortunately I think he is serious - but then he is a nut so you never know with him)

Lois I checked out the website and it was great thanks for the link!

I was good except I skipped breakfast because my doctor said no milk (I like bran flakes) and I am tired of eggs and I overslept (honesty is good); I had the other half of my fish/blackbeans/rice for lunch and it looks like I will be having fish again for dinner going by what mom has thawing out. Either that or skinless, boneless, chicken breast. She is thawing out both so I dont know. Newest favorite fish is tilapia. It is very mild and doesnt have much taste so you can fix it up with seasonings or herbs and it takes on their taste, kinda like tofu.

I am so excited today!! I feel like the smiley with the pom-poms. I am so happy we are all losing weight and making positive life changes!! I just want to hug all of you and go fly kites or go to the beach or something. We are doing so great just by dedicating ourselves to working toward our goals!

Yay US!

Happy Thursday!

Hi girls! I almost started to flip out cause I've been trying to get online since lastnight. It's only now worked. I hope your day finds you well!

I am having a good so far, although I wasn't able to walk this morning. I had to rush to get my daughter to preschool, 15 mins after that I had an appointment to get my hair done. That took an hour, I would have came home to excercise but my hair looked awful (can you say lightbulb! hahaha) Instead I came home to wash and re-do. It was McDonalds day with friends and after had to run to walmart. I was checking for the Biggest Loser workout dvd, but outta luck. I'll be on the treadmill after dinner. So far I only have 730 cal and 10.4grams of fat used. Having chicken cacciatore for supper that only has 177cal and 7.8gfat per serving.

Robsia, thanks for the support. I know I have to make up my own mind to whatever I feel comfortable with. I got a feeling it will be hard to break down and give in to steak and cake. I think a small grilled extra lean cut will suffice. I'm too chicken to go out and order cause I know I'd be kicking myself. I bought a angel food cake mix, fresh strawberries and low fat cool whip that'll be my cake! Maybe a drizzle of chocolate for good behavior, who knows!

Lois, thanks also for your birthday advice. Okay, I get now what a deficit means, but I was wondering how do you calculate what calories you burn in a day? I know exactly what I eat in a day and what or how many I burn on the treadmill. But other than that I wouldn't have a clue. And how do you get from what your deficit is to how much of a pound you should lose? That's very cool. I would like to know the secret!

Cheryl, awesome loss! Congrats! I'm so sorry to hear about your hernia. It's gotta be awful to be forced to slow down when you were on a roll. I'm glad you're not taking it as a set back and plan to keep on excercising, BUT just please be careful NOT to overdo it!! Thanks for the birthday wishes!

AndrewsMum, get right back on the horse! I'm sure KFC won't affect you that badly, I mean the sausages and candy bars didn't! Stay strong and powerfully motivated! About the gym ball, I had a dvd that came with mine (4yrs ago) but I can't remember what I did with it! I think I used it once! hahaha I would go online looking for some ideas. Pretty funny doctor! Thanks for the laughter!

garnetfairy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Your truly inspiring to keep my birthday healthy. I mean I have a whole bunch of birthdays ahead of me (Lord willing) and I need to make this a lifestyle! My mom and her sister celebrate their birthdays this weekend, everyone is coming to town. I'm going to stick to my wits and celebrate with them in a more health conscience mannor!

Lori, thanks for the birthday wishes! Bob from the Biggest Loser and a handful of former contenstants have put together a workout dvd. It is previewed on the Biggest Loser website. It looks really good and doable. They are doing the excercises the contenstants did on the show. I checked the walmart website and said in was in stock but I don't know if it is in canada or not cause I couldn't find it today.

Well gotta go a prepare for supper! Have a great night ladies!

Robsia 01-26-2006 06:28 PM

Tina - the site I use, Nutridiary, works out my average calories burned for me, based on my height, weight and general activity. It won't be exact but it's a start. Any extra activities such as exercise you put in too. I think Fitday does the same.

Then, to work out estimated pounds lost, it's about 3500 calories per pound of body fat. So to lose 2 lbs in a week, you would need to burn up 7000 calories more than you ate.

However, you might put on muscle in that week also, if you have been exercising a lot so, while you might have lost the 2 lbs of fat, you might have put on 1 lb of muscle, so the scales would only show a loss of 1 lb.

I have not known you a long time but in this picture your face is less poufy and your throat/neck are thinner and you dont have all the double chin you had. I think you look great.

Cheryl120 01-26-2006 09:39 PM

Tina... WOW! I really notice a big difference in your face. Your neck and chin area are thinner and your face isn't as puffy. You are BEAUTIFUL!!!

Garnetfairy....You go girl. You will be one hot mama before you know it.

I had a really good day today. Didn't get a workout in with Richard, but I did clean house and I took care of my friends 3 year old. Otto is quite a had full. My poor animals hate to see him come for a visit. I stayed within my points today, I think. I made up my own version of Chicken Taco Soup and I think I had it figured at 5 points. Tomorrow, we are off to Fargo for shopping and out for lunch. Don't know where we will go as yet, maybe Olive Garden for soup and salad.

Have a great evening,

Cheryl

Happy Friday!

Good morning ladies! How is your day going for you all? It's snowing here, and cold. My sister and three kids are due here anytime aswell as my parents. It's going to be a house full! I haven't seen my sister since Christmas. Usually weekends like this are always full of very unhealthy eating. Something fast and mess free. I just hope it's not going to be too hard on me. I just finished my walk on the treadmill, I don't know how it will go over tonight cuz it's in the basement and usually the basement is a total hurricane of toys and kids when they're here. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT! I'LL BE KEEPING YOU ALL IN MY MIND! I know you'll be wanting me to be strong just as much as I want to, and I don't want to let you all and myself down. I'll be back to posts happy reports!

Robsia, thanks for the site info. I'll have to give it a whirl.

Garnetfairy, thanks for your honesty and compliment. It's great to know there is really a change. I've been feeling a difference since day one, maybe not in weight lost looks, but in a healthier me. It's nice to know it's beginning to show on the outside and as I feel on the inside.

Cheryl, thanks for the compliment also. Have a good day in Fargo! Enjoy the shopping and especially Olive Garden, I love that place!

AndrewsMum, thanks also for the compliment. (Sheesh, I feel so embarassed! :o ) Well I don't think there were any smoke and mirrors involved in this picture cause I am the same height as yourself. Maybe it was a good angle! haha If I knew how to post more pics I would but I don't know how to make a little gallery. Maybe someday I'll figure it out. I did face shots cause I knew if I did whole body shots you wouldn't see me...LOL!

Well, I'm off to get ready for my company. Hopefully I'll get a chance to come back and check in. Have a wonderful day ladies.

Stay strong and powerful!
~Tina

Good Afternoon Everyone.
It is a beautiful day here in North Dakota, the sun is shining, 40 degrees and not a cloud in the sky! If we didn't have snow on the ground it would feel a lot wamer than it is. Had a good day in Fargo and we had lunch at Qdoba Mexican Grill, instead of Olive Garden. I did good. :carrot: I had a Naked Burrito and Vegetarian Tortilla Soup, with tortilla strips. Next time, I won't have the tortilla strips...but I did tell them no cheese or sour cream. :D

Tina...Hope you have a super time with your family as you Celebrate your Birthday. :hb: Enjoy your chocolate cake, you have certainly earned it. :carrot: :carrot:

Just wanted to check in real quick since I was putting in a new tracker. I'll try to check back later.

TGIF
Checking in and I hope this finds everyone well.

garnetfairy
, I really love your post about going to fly kites or something... I know how you feel... oh what a feeeling :)

Robsia, how are you... hope you are feeling better

Cheryl, glad you had good days today and yesterday... cleaning and taking care of a 3 yr. old... hmmm, sounds like a typical day for me. Chicken Taco Soup... never heard of it, but it sounds good and so does the lunch you had today... I love mexican food  ...but you did good... it's the little changes that will make the difference.

Tina, the weather here in MI is unusual for this time of year... the end of Jan. and we're having 45 degree tempts. :dizzy: Hey sounds like a fun weekend with family but I know it will be hard but you can do it! Enjoy yourself!

Lori, glad you made it on here, and my day has been good, thanks for asking  WhooHoo 5 more lbs. :cheer: ...how exciting, that is great!

My day has been pretty good. I got my workout in but did not do any additional workout last night. During todays workout I noticed that I did not get winded... this is great progress. I guess it's time to bump it up again!

Robsia 01-27-2006 06:01 PM

Well, I kind of had a bad today. My daughter had a little friend round for tea and she asked if we could do some baking.

Well, I had good intentions. I found a recipe for chocolate chip cookies with sweetener, not sugar and I said I would only have one, which was only 92 calories.

But . . . they were SO nice that the one stretched into three.

BUT - I only had a yoghurt for my lunch so altogether I have still only had 1271 calories today - which is pretty good.

And all the cookies are gone now. Which is good. i sent some home with Lauren (the little friend).

The kids had a fabulous time, which is the main thing.

You know I've noticed a funny thing - I did my workout yesterday and this morning I had not lost anything. I don't know why, but whenever I do my workout I don't lose anything the next morning. I thought it was just coincidence but it's happened every time.

I'm putting it down to the whole losing fat/gaining muscle thing.

But on the plus side, overall I am losing a helluva lot more than when I tried to lose weight last time without the exercise. So it must be working.

garnetfairy 01-28-2006 01:17 AM

Lori - WATP is Walk Away The Pounds, it is a series of exercise tapes done by Leslie Sansone. They are very good for people who have not exercised in a while or who want to get some in at home. They dont take a lot of space to do either which is why I like them.

Robsia - good for you sending the rest of the cookies with the little friend. Let her mommie resist temptation! I bet the kids had a blast!

Lois - how fickle I am, one minute I want to fly kites and the other I am in a deep blue funk, which is where I am now. Maybe it is the birthday blues or being sick for so long or finally realizing how fat I am and out of shape and all that blah blah I have ignored for so long. But I have been crying and am just in my pity pot up to my eyebrows right now. But I love you guys and you're the only people I have listening to my tale of woe. But I dont want to bring anyone else down. Good thing is I have no appetite managed to get in about 540 calories today. Did a little half hearted exercise with 2 pound weights. But now I think I just want to lie in bed and feel bad. stupid me.

Tina - Happy Birthday, I hope your's is super!!

Cheryl - Way to go on the naked burrito and all that, Mexican food is a big weakness for me ordinarily.

Tina - Good luck with all the family visiting!! Try not to run over any kids with the treadmill...ha ha

Andrew's Mum - What I would give to be so tall and so thin!!

Happy weekend everybody, thank you for being here!

Oh gosh - I can see it straightaway!!! Your face was pretty to start with but now it's so much slimmer and your hair looks great!! Double chin is definitely much less!

You're doing so well - you're an inspiration to us!

Sorry I didn't answer this before but I missed it somehow.
