Welcome Ellie! Anyone with spectacular plans??? First year DH and I are staying home. But it has been nice just sitting and talking with him. I think I will get him to play cards. He does not like to play with me anymore, but it HAS been a long time~maybe he has forgotten

Have a great new Year everyone!!

Thanksfor the welcome. Your comment on playing games actually made me laugh out loud. Thats how my sisters husband (and his friends who participate in there game night) feel about her and the way she "supposedly" alters the rules. Whatever they are just jealous.

Hi Ellie! Welcome!!! And happy new year!!! How old are your girls? That is great you have made a home for them. You are a special person.
We went to some friends house from church and played games. We had a fun time. We laughed till we were nearly sick. No drinking, just lots of fun. The kids went with us and I think they had a good time too.
Well, it is 12:30 here and I am going to bed.
Again.....HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Thanks for the welcome! My girls are 12, 9 and 5. I don't know if this is sad or not (it may be a little sad) but the girls were at their dad's last night and so I went to bed at like 10:30. I think my weigh in day is gonna be Sunday-for two reasons-1-had a really good weigh in this morning 5 lbs!, 2-gives me time to report on the day it actually happens instead of a day or two later, when I can find time in my busy week.

Ellie, Did you have the little ticker at the bottom with the girls ages before?? I must be crazy! If you did, sorry for asking an already answered question. (This is why I am nervous about going back to school! LOL) No shame in going to bed early on New Years. I was so tired this morning going to church, I wish I had gone to bed early. I usually weigh in on Monday, others on Friday. So you weigh in whenever you set for yourself. The main thing is to just keep up with the loss (or heaven help us, the gains). I am not sure how, but I stepped on the scale and am down 2 pounds. ?????????? ??????????
Hey, I will take it.
Here is to us moms a healthy and slimmer new year!!!

Yes it was there, but that's okay, I won't hold it against you. You are obviously over-tired, yep, that what it is.

What are my goals? Do I have goals??
Darn cat just walked across the key board and I lost my whole post.
I have not set new goals for myself. I met my former goals by mid Dec. I have been getting my home in order.

I have must do’s for this week: stamp& get Avon books out:write SC minutes:make new SS teaching schedule:write church newsletter; clean out fridge and make shopping list
This weeks goals: walk 30 min a day; eat 5 veg&2 fruit a day, eat only 1 starchy carb a day

At 1 today I am going to a friend/neighbour’s to get something funky done to my hair; low lights, highlights a few colours added in.
Hubby is home. It is raining. Allergies are bad.
Kids and I slept til 8:30. Feeling very rested. I will start setting the alarm for 6:30 and get up to do my morning routine. I am back to sitting and kids are into school next Mon, Jan 9. I have another whole week to get myself cleaned up, on track and on plan. It has been 8 years since i have had this much time for myself. 8 years is a long time to not have any time for yourself. Literally not more than an hour free every few months or so. It was a break to go get groceries by myself once in a while.

Hubby and I have been getting along well. Laughing lots. Kids have been awesome!!! Lots of good play and convo and cuddles. Life is peachy.

Do I have any goals yet?

What are your goals Ladies?

It is warm and sunny here. It feels like a spring day. Wonderful but very weird.
As far as my goals? hmmm.....as far as my weight loss, I don't think I am going to set goals. Just as long as I can see a steady (slow is fine) loss. I may change my mind on that, we will see. I am going to wait till next week to start. The kids go back to school this Wednesday. My son goes tomorrow to get braces. He is not thrilled. I wish they didn't go back this week.
Other goals I have set for myself is to, of course, do well in school. There will be much dicipline to deal with there. I haven't studied in 20 years.
Back to weight, I would love to be a size 10 (or 8 would be better) for the summer.
Ok, I am rambling. Sorry about that. Guess I need to get up and get busy.

It was very nice here today too. Mid 50's and very mild. We did get some thunder storms this am but they eventually dried up and went away. Eating has been good, but really need to get back into the exercise bit. DH and DS go back to work and school, respectively, on Wed so I am going to push to get back into a routine. I just need the will power!! I hate getting up early, but I know I must. Have a great Day All!!!

Default New start

Welcome to the newbies...glad to have you here!! We are a great board for support. Some of us have been a little slow lately and off track but have committed to getting back on track starting this week (myself included).

I'm currently waiting for a call back from one of the gyms in our town as to costs to join so I can really move on this. I ate like crap over the holidays and I'll tell you what....I felt like crap. It has really proven to me that I want to do this because I felt so much better physically and emotionally when I was eating better.

Here's an update on Heather. (For the newbies, Heather is my 19 year old niece and Nrsldy's daughter). The official diagnosis we received last Friday is Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Large Cell. She's at least stage II, we will know more this Friday morning as she is undergoing extensive testing and biopsies this week to get a final staging. She'll start aggressive chemotherapy this Friday so if you are a praying family, she sure can use some extra ones. She is an incredible young lady and is trying to keep her spirits up to fight this. Nrsldy (Sherri) and/or I will keep you posted along the way. Thank you for all your good thoughts already. You are wonderful ladies.

Well, off to get some things done around the house...Have a great eating day ladies and get some exercise in today!!

Sandra~Thanks for the update. I will keep praying for your niece. Tell Sherri That we are all here for her if she need to vent. I know this can be a painful proccess for family members too.

I am having a slow start to my recommitment. I got all ready to exercise this am then it fell through. I have been a little stressed out taking my brothers and sister for three weeks. I get them tonight, so hopefully I can get everyone into a good routine. I know that if I can do that I will be in good shape. DS went back to school today, but I am still not into this yet.

I am hoping it is hormaonal related. So I am planning a lot for next week. I should be a little better and more motivated then. For now, I am just going to try to survive the rest of the week. My dad gets my siblings over the weekend and I can't wait!!(he couldn't take 3 weeks of vacation, that's why I am watching them during the week)

I am rambling on now. Good LUck on the rest of the week! Congradulations on the great start you all have made. I will join you soon.

Sandra, I am a praying woman, and Heather will be in my prayers. As will the rest of your family. I hope Sherri is ok. Please tell her we are thinking about her and praying for them. Thanks for the update.

Well, I am off to a slow start too. I am trying to motivate myself to get back healthy on Monday. On the tenth, my church starts a new aerobics class twice a week. It will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I plan on going. I also started a new bible study tonight. And tomorrow I am going to talk to the school about the financial aid. I am terrified we won't qualify for enough, and we are so broke, there is no way we can do much to pay for it ourselves. If not, I will just give up on school. The other programs I tried to get into were so competitve, they would not even consider a 38 year old woman. I am trying not to be negative, but I am scare. Then I think about all the loans we will have to pay back.........UGH!!!!!!!!!! Have mercy!!!!!!!!!
My son got braces on his top teeth yesterday. He didn't go back to school today because his mouth was killing him. He has a low pain tolerance anyway. (Don't most of the men you know?? HAHA!) Seriously, I felt really bad for him, so I didn't wake him up this morning and let him sleep in. He seems better. May have trouble playing his clainet though. Hmmm...

ups ~ I hope you get on track. Once we fall off it is sure hard to get back on. So many things can distract us from what we need and our goals. I am with you. I will try harder and get back on track too. Maybe if I do start school, I will be so nervous and tired, I won't care if I eat! haha.
You certainly have your hands full!!!

Ok Holly, I think you are just trying to make us look bad. I am actually doing good this morning. All the kids are dressed and ready for the day. DS got on the bus and my siblings are doing their work (they are home schooled). Luckilly I only have to do a modified day with them. My dishwasher is loaded and My laundry in on. After evceryone is done we are going to take down the Christmas trees and vaccum. After DH comes home we are going to Food shopping. DH wants hamburgers tonight, so I am not sure what I am going to eat yet, but we will see. I really need to go shopping!!See you ladies later-I have to ballance the check book!
